have you ever felt alone have you ever felt isolated perhaps you felt isolated because you never got that degree perhaps you felt alone because you were never invited perhaps they never called you or gave you a compliment i believe that at one point or another we have all experienced this feeling a feeling of being abandoned being deserted but what i love about jesus is that he had time for those who were forsaken by others jesus had love and compassion towards those who were abandoned in mark 10 verses 46 through 52 we're told the story of someone who was literally in a dark place someone who was forgotten about in society this person wasn't important according to the standards of that community and i imagine that this person also didn't have much self-confidence there was no spring in their step because of their physical state but oh how this all changed when this man had an encounter with jesus christ the bible reads and they came to jericho and as he was leaving jericho with his disciples and a great crowd bartimaeus a blind beggar the son of timaeus was sitting by the roadside and when he heard that it was jesus of nazareth he began to cry out and say jesus son of david have mercy on me and many rebuked him telling him to be silent but he cried out all the more son of david have mercy on me and jesus stopped and said call him and they called the blind man saying to him take heart get up he is calling you and throwing off his cloak he sprang up and came to jesus and jesus said to him what do you want me to do for you [Music] and the blind man said to him rabbi let me recover my sight and jesus said to him go your way your faith has made you well and immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way now you and i may not be physically blind but we may have something that's weighing us down a burden an illness a problem a feeling of being abandoned perhaps if you dig deep enough everyone has something that they are fighting but i would like to tell you that you should not be silent jesus christ can hear your voice he can hear your prayer bartimaeus had an encounter with jesus because he would not let the lord pass by without getting his attention you know we can do that too we can call out to the lord and he will answer us and he will show us great and mighty things i'm reminded of the hymn that says pass me not o gentle savior hear my humble cry while on others thou art calling do not pass me by savior savior hear my humble cry while on others thou art calling do not pass me by friends may not pick up your call when you're in need mom and dad may no longer be there to put their arms around you family members may not even hear you cry but let me tell you something jesus jesus can hear you psalm 145 verse 18 says the lord is near to all who call on him to all who call on him in truth what a blessing it is to know that in jesus we have someone who will never abandon us he will never leave us nor forsake us now let us pray dear lord jesus pass me not my savior hear our cry o lord there are those of us who are crying to be loved may we come to the realization that your love for us is never ending your love for us it is so rich there are some of us lord jesus who are crying out for a new opportunity for a new door to be opened lord may we find you to be the god of more than enough a god who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or even imagine for those of us crying for healing lord may we come to know you as our healer touch our lives lord i know that one touch from you can make us whole god i know that one touch from you will cause our situations to turn in our favor so lord as we cry out to you our prayer is that you would answer us in our hour of need [Music] your word says in psalm 23 verse 3 he restores my soul he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake true restoration comes from you true peace comes only from you lord and so we pray that you would restore us father restore our spirits if we have wandered away from you your word tells me to rejoice in the lord always and so i rejoice i rejoice in all of your goodness and your faithfulness help us to focus on things that are pure and right things that will profit our souls help us to have a sweet and peaceful disposition lord i pray that you would give me a kind of spirit that will reflect the work that you are doing within me be a light unto my path king jesus eradicate the darkness and destroy the traps that have been set by my enemy lord you are my source of strength to overcome the devil my source of strength to walk in victory my source of strength to defeat sin and i pray right now lord that i may have the type of faith to step out and walk on water so that when i face obstacles that seem impossible i want to remain steadfast and remember that with you my lord all things are possible you are an ever faithful god you are so good to me with all the grace and all the mercy that you offer lord you are my strong tower and my refuge at this present time lord i ask for your peace and your protection over my life and over my family's lives [Music] god your word is true and it is everlasting i stand in faith on psalm 91 verses 10 and 11. those verses say no evil will befall me or my family no plague will come near my home or my body in jesus name and even though i may not see with my eyes i believe that your hand is over my life you have charge over my life lord and you are a god who is faithful to deliver those who trust in him so god i bring all of my cares and all of my worries to you i give them to you lord i surrender it all to you there is absolutely none like you god i thank you for hearing this prayer i count it all done [Music] in jesus name i pray and i thank you amen [Music] saints of god one of the pillars of faith should be the word of god forget the praise and worship music put aside the doctrine and theology and focus on god's word god's word should be the starting point and i really want you to understand the power that is in the word of god matthew 24 verse 35 says heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away take a moment to understand that heaven and earth as we currently know it will pass away someday there will be no more but god's word god's word will remain and stand forever hebrews 4 verse 12 for the word of god is living and active sharper than any two-edged sword piercing to the division of soul and of spirit of joints and of marrow and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart i want you to never take the word of god for granted it lives it has power it's sharp it cuts through a person right through to the deepest parts of our nature exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the hawk when you pray with god's word you're speaking a word that has life into your prayer it becomes effective so should you be wondering how to make your prayers more effective use the word of god god is his word and the word is god this means that his word has the power to defeat evil it has the power to defeat satan the bible is in a spiritual sense alive [Music] this is why the devil will do all that he can to prevent you from spending time in god's word because he knows that it can transform you it can empower you it can pierce your heart and challenge you concerning the sin in your life the devil will fight you tooth and nail so that you will never reach a point where you are consistently reading and studying the bible so be aware of this fight against this the bible tells us that faith comes through what not prayer not praise and worship but through god's word god's word plants living seeds in your heart and so as you hear me i encourage you to take god's word seriously it has the power to keep you pure according to psalms 119 verse 9 to 11 the bible reads how can a young man keep his way pure by guarding it according to your word with my whole heart i seek you let me not wander from your commandments i have stored up your word in my heart that i might not sin against you god's word has authority it can teach you correct you and train you because second timothy chapter 3 verse 16 to 17 says all scripture is breathed out by god and profitable for teaching for reproof for correction and for training in righteousness that the man of god may be complete equipped for every good work now let us pray dear lord i thank you for your precious word your word saves your word gives life your word sanctifies and it protects and i pray that your word would always be hidden in my heart psalms 23 verse 1 to 3 say the lord is my shepherd i shall not want he makes me lie down in green pastures he leads me beside still waters he restores my soul he leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake i pray father that as my good shepherd you will lead me always guide my steps may i be found in the right place at the right time not because i am so smart or talented but because you king jesus are my good shepherd because you are leading me you are a shepherd who leads me besides still waters a shepherd who leads me in the paths of righteousness i pray that you would give me strength lord may i be found to be walking in alignment with your will and your word give me a discerning spirit so that i may not walk in the path of sin strengthen me so that i will not be lured by the world and its pleasures but instead king jesus i hold on to your word and declare that the lord is my shepherd i shall not want i praise you you are all that i want and need i am content so long as you are with me lord when we experience seasons in life that are discouraging and stressful may your word be the source of our hope may your word be the place we run to in search of answers the bible says in joshua chapter 1 verse 8 this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth but you shall meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it for then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success may the holy spirit help me to meditate on your word day and night may the holy spirit help me to be careful to follow the instruction that is in your word o god your word lord is what can truly encourage us as your children regardless of what we are going through regardless of the storm in your word we can find strength and courage even in the midst of tumultuous circumstances i pray that your word would continue to operate as an ever-present reminder in my life that all things are possible with you god help me to fight each and every day so that i may spend time in your word so that i can feed my inner spirit romans 15 verse 13 says may the god of hope fill you with all joy and peace and believing so that by the power of the holy spirit you may abound in hope i receive this promise king jesus fill me with joy and peace so that by the power of the holy spirit i may abound in hope i praise you for being faithful lord indeed you are a god who is compassionate and your mercies are new every morning thank you for hearing my prayer be glorified always in jesus name i pray amen [Music] let not your hearts be troubled believe in god believe also in me those are the words of jesus christ in john chapter 14 verse 1. let not your heart be troubled in other words do not let your heart be afraid don't allow your heart to surrender to fear if you have accepted jesus christ as your lord and savior then you have every reason not to be troubled you have every reason not to be anxious or worried within your heart [Music] he said you believe in god believe also in me but why why did jesus choose to say those words to us i believe that the reason we should not let our hearts be troubled can be found in john chapter 14 verse 6 which reads jesus said to him i am the way and the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me and if you move on further to read john chapter 14 verse 16 the bible says and i will ask the father and he will give you another helper to be with you forever and so from these two verses we know that if you have accepted jesus christ into your heart then you have accepted the one who is the way the truth and the life there is nothing that he does not regulate there is nothing that he is unaware of he is the answer he is the solution for all things and the fact that he has given us a helper the wonderful holy spirit this means that we have help in times of trouble we have strength in times of weakness and we have guidance in times of uncertainty so do not let your heart be troubled because if you have accepted jesus christ as your lord and savior and if we submit to his ruling authority in our hearts then you and i become like sheep to the good shepherd and john chapter 10 verse 11 reads i am the good shepherd the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep what a privilege it is to have the son of god to have the first born from the dead the prince of peace say that he will give his life for his sheep and so i want to encourage you to uplift someone or maybe to simply reassure you that you need not to be worried let not your heart be troubled if jesus christ is in your heart then you have accepted the one who is the way the truth and the life you have accepted the good shepherd and he has laid down his life for you so that you may have eternal life now let us pray dear lord my king and my savior in your arms is where i desire to be in your presence is where i am safest and most secure i pray today father for the person who is listening may they know you to be the good shepherd i pray that their reality may be that you make them to lie down in green pastures may you lead them beside the still waters and restore their souls i pray in agreement with psalm 23 verse 5 and 6 which says you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies you anoint my head with oil my cup overflows surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and i shall dwell in the house of the lord forever our hearts will not be troubled by this world in jesus name our hearts will not be troubled by our enemies i pray for each person listening whatever form your enemy comes in whether it's a person whether it's debt whether it's addiction god will cause you to overcome you will dine and feast and you will be blessed at the table that god has prepared for you in the presence of your enemies do not let your heart be troubled in jesus name despite that issue despite that problem the lord will and he has already prepared a table before you in the presence of your enemies meaning that he has already prepared a way for you to overcome he has already given you the keys to victory and so we thank you lord jesus for your word we speak it we confess it and declare psalm 23 verse 6 which says surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and i shall dwell in the house of the lord forever we declare that goodness and mercy shall follow our families and our children goodness and mercy shall follow me so that i will not want or lack for anything because you lord are my provider help us to be obedient to your word may our hearts receive the word spoken in john chapter 14 verse 1 which says let not your heart be troubled you believe in god believe also in me to know you lord is to know the way the truth and the life to know you to know the words that you have spoken to know the miracles signs and wonders that you have performed that gives us confidence and it builds our trust in you because we believe that you will make a way where there seems to be no way you will make good on all your promises promises that tell me that you are preparing a place for us as your children john chapter 14 verse 3 says and if i go and prepare a place for you i will come again and will take you to myself that where i am you may be also i would like to give you thanks for the holy spirit the wonderful helper who acts who guides who teaches and also reminds us of all things concerning you and your kingdom i pray that the holy spirit may lead us may he move us and push us towards you lord towards a closer relationship with you may he be the convicting voice in our hearts that compels us to seek you first and to seek you always i pray that we may be a people who dwell in the secret place of the most high and abide under the shadow of the almighty i thank you for listening to this prayer may you be praised and honored i bless your holy name in the mighty and the brethren love one another fervently with a pure heart having been born again not of corruptible seed but incorruptable through the word of god which lives and abides forever because all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass the grass withers and its flower falls away but the word of the lord endures forever now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you the word of god endures forever all other earthly things will come and go all other earthly things may come but they will pass away however the bible clearly states that god's word should not be compared to these temporal earthly things because his word can stand the test of time so we as believers need to meditate on the word of god we ought to cherish his word we ought to love his word because his word is god himself he is revealed in his word and the message that i would like to give you today is one of encouragement i would like to encourage you to write the word of god memorize the word of god keep it hidden in the chambers of your heart it should be something that you hold on closely because the word of god is like a fire it can refine you of all impurities it refines impurities because 2 corinthians chapter 5 verse 17 says therefore if anyone is in christ the new creation has come and the old has gone the new is here the bible tells us in colossians chapter 3 verse 5 therefore put to death your members which are on the earth fornication uncleanliness passion evil desire covetousness which is idolatry you see the word of god refines you it instructs you about the standards that god expects us to have as his children furthermore his word is like a hammer because it destroys evil and builds and strengthens a godly character in your life the bible tells us in ephesians 5 verse 11 and 12 and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose them for it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret and if you read psalm chapter 1 verse 1 and 2 the bible tells you blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly nor stands in the path of sinners nor sits in the seat of the scornful but his delight is in the law of the lord and in his law he meditates day and night from these short passages of scripture if you are to meditate on such verses if you are to dwell and build your life around the word of god which tells you to have no fellowship with the works of darkness nor to be found standing in the path of sinners these are the principles needed for you and i to maintain a godly character and to live a life that is pleasing to the lord in addition to this the word of god is like a lamp and a light that guides us and gives us direction in this world i say this because if you read ephesians chapter 5 verse 15 to 21 the bible says this be very careful then how you live not as unwise but as wise making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil therefore do not be foolish but understand what the lord's will is do not get drunk on wine which leads to debauchery instead be filled with the spirit speaking to one another with psalms hymns and songs from the spirit sing and make music from your heart to the lord always give thanks to god the father for everything in the name of our lord jesus christ and so with this understanding let us pray lord jesus help me to meditate on your word day and night help me to make it a habit to make it my routine to spend quality time in your word let the bible not just be another book to me but because your word says in second timothy chapter 3 verse 16 all scripture is given by inspiration of god and his profitable doctrine for a proof for correction for instruction in righteousness may your word teach me may it rebuke me correct me and train me in all things pertaining to righteousness in your kingdom lord i pray that the holy spirit would guide me through scripture so that i can begin to understand and to change because of your word as your children lord as we read your word may it cut through every thought and every attitude that stands against you or your will may your word pierce our minds and become rooted in our souls father god i pray that we would be reminded by the holy spirit in our hearts of your word each and every time that we're presented with a choice to do right or wrong may your word lord jesus hold us accountable train me to be a believer who can examine himself based off of your word help me to weigh my motives to weigh my actions and deeds against what your word says [Music] i believe lord that you have given us your word so that we as believers can have a reference so that we can be corrected so that we can know the ways of righteousness and know how to navigate through this life and above all lord as we read your word may we begin to know you to know you more and to know you intimately the bible tells us in john chapter 1 verse 1 in the beginning was the how i should be living as a born-again believer and just like food may your word provide nourishment to me man cannot live by bread alone but by every word that comes from god lord jesus together with everyone listening in agreement i pray that your word cleanses us may it wash over our lives may your word help us to renew our minds may your word always be with us hidden in our hearts i praise you for hearing this prayer and i glorify your name you alone are the king of kings and the lord of lords in the mighty name of jesus christ i pray [Music] amen when was the last time you prayed for wisdom when was the last time you asked god for wisdom and understanding [Music] we asked the lord for so many things we ask for miracles for possessions for opportunities but have you ever thought what godly wisdom would do to and for you the book of proverbs chapter 4 verse 7 says wisdom is the principle thing therefore get wisdom and in all you're getting get understanding as we go through life as we grow in our walk with christ we must realize that we need wisdom and understanding and this is not the type of wisdom that comes with the experience of living and getting older but rather godly wisdom james 1 verse 5 puts it this way if any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of god who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him i'm amazed at how frank the bible can be at times here in james 1 verse 5 the bible is literally telling me that if i lack wisdom in any area of my life or if i need godly wisdom to guide me through a decision the bible tells me to simply ask the lord for it there is no special test or rigorous criteria for you and i to gain wisdom we just have to ask wisdom can also be gained from reading the word of god and i believe that when it comes to life when it comes to how we should conduct ourselves as christians proverbs chapter 11 offers a great comparison between the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked as i read this passage of scripture measure yourself against god's word [Music] at the same time i encourage you to listen to this passage of scripture and see it as the standard that we should all aspire to reach when it comes to righteousness faithfulness and humility proverbs 11 verses 1-12 dishonest scales are an abomination to the lord but a just wait is his delight a different more descriptive translation of the same verse says a false balance and dishonest business practices are extremely offensive to the lord but an accurate scale is his delight now from verse two the bible continues to say when pride comes then comes shame but with the humble is wisdom the integrity of the upright will guide them but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them riches do not profit in the day of wrath but righteousness delivers from death the righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright but the wicked will fall by his own wickedness the righteousness of the upright will deliver them but the unfaithful will be caught by their lust when a wicked man dies his expectation will perish and the hope of the unjust perishes the righteous is delivered from trouble and it comes to the wicked instead the hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered when it goes well with the righteous the city rejoices and when the wicked perish there is jubilation by the blessing of the upright the city is exalted but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked he who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor but a man of understanding holds his peace now let us pray dear father i come before you today knowing that i am not perfect i come before you today as someone who is flawed and i acknowledge that i need you king jesus in all of my ways the word tells me that wisdom is the principle thing and your word tells me to get understanding to get divine insight [Music] lord i pray that you would increase my wisdom and my understanding this day i need your wisdom lord jesus because it will lead me to walk with integrity and in righteousness according to your word in proverbs 11 the righteousness is what will keep my way straight but wickedness will lead to my downfall help me to walk in wisdom lord because your word says the righteous is delivered from trouble and the wicked walks into it instead help me to have the wisdom not to place my trust in riches because proverbs 11 verse 28 says whoever trusts enriches will fall but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf i pray that my trust will be firmly planted on the god of the ages my trust is planted in the king of kings jesus christ give me grace lord and grant me wisdom let me be wise even when it comes to my desires and passions let me not be drawn to things that will result in worldly pleasure guide me in every manner of life from the words that i say to the actions that i take whether i am at work in my home or speaking to my loved ones may i be a person that conducts myself with godly wisdom help me not to be wise in my own eyes lord let me not have a spirit of pride and think that i know all there is to know but instead give me a teachable spirit lord one that is humble and seeks knowledge from above lord your wisdom will lead me to fear you and to depart from wickedness wisdom from you king jesus will be health to my flesh and strength to my bones your wisdom will lead me to honor you with all of my possessions and with the first fruits of all my increase proverbs 3 verse 13 says happy is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding may i experience the happiness and joy of finding wisdom in jesus name because wisdom from you lord is far better than the silver and gold of this earth father help me to walk with sound wisdom all the days of my life because the bible says that wisdom will be life to my soul and grace to my neck when i have godly wisdom when i have discernment and comprehension then i will walk safely in the way of the lord and my foot will not stumble may your name be honored and praised king jesus i trust and believe that you have heard my prayer i trust and believe that a moment to understand that heaven and earth as we currently know it will pass away someday there will be no more but god's word god's word will remain and stand forever hebrews 4 verse 12 for the word of god is living and active sharper than any two-edged sword piercing to the division of soul and of spirit of joints and of marrow and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart i want you to never take the word of god for granted it lives it has power it's sharp it cuts through a person right through to the deepest parts of our nature exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart when you pray with god's word you're speaking a word that has life into your prayer it becomes effective so should you be wondering how to make your prayers more effective use the word of god god is his word and the word is god this means that his word has the power to defeat evil it has the power to defeat satan the bible is in a spiritual sense alive [Music] this is why the devil will do all that he can to prevent you from spending time in god's word because he knows that it can transform you it can empower you it can pierce your heart and challenge you concerning the sin in your life the devil will fight you tooth and nail so that you will never reach a point where you are consistently reading and studying the bible so be aware of this fight against this the bible tells us that faith comes through what not prayer not praise and worship but through god's word god's word plants living seeds in your heart and so as you hear me i encourage you to take god's word seriously it has the power to keep you pure according to psalms 119 verse 9 to 11 the bible reads how can a young man keep his way pure by guarding it according to your word with my whole heart i seek you let me not wander from your commandments i have stored up your word in my heart that i might not sin against you god's word has authority it can teach you correct you and train you because ii timothy chapter 3 verse 16 to 17 says all scripture is breathed out by god and profitable for teaching for reproof for correction and for training in righteousness that the man of god may be complete equipped for every good work now let us pray dear lord i thank you for your precious word your word saves your word gives life your word sanctifies and it protects and i pray that your word would always be hidden in my heart psalms 23 verse 1 to 3 say the lord is my shepherd i shall not walk he makes me lie down in green pastures he leads me beside still waters he restores my soul he leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake i pray father that as my good shepherd you will lead me always guide my steps may i be found in the right place at the right time not because i am so smart or talented but because you king jesus are my good shepherd because you are leading me you are a shepherd who leads me besides still waters a shepherd who leads me in the paths of righteousness i pray that you would give me strength low may i be found to be walking in alignment with your will and your word give me a discerning spirit so that i may not walk in the path of sin strengthen me so that i will not be lured by the world and its pleasures but instead king jesus i hold on to your word and declare that the lord is my shepherd i shall not want i praise you you are all that i want and need i am content so long as you are with me lord when we experience seasons in life that are discouraging and stressful may your word be the source of our hope may your word be the place we run to in search of answers the bible says in joshua chapter 1 verse 8 this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth but you shall meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it for then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success may the holy spirit help me to meditate on your word day and night may the holy spirit help me to be careful to follow the instruction that is in your word oh god your word lord is what can truly encourage us as your children regardless of what we are going through regardless of the storm in your word we can find strength and courage even in the midst of tumultuous circumstances i pray that your word would continue to operate as an ever-present reminder in my life that all things are possible with you god help me to fight each and every day so that i may spend time in your word so that i can feed my inner spirit romans 15 verse 13 says may the god of hope fill you with all joy and peace and believing so that by the power of the holy spirit you may abound in hope i receive this promise king jesus fill me with joy and peace so that by the power of the holy spirit i may abound in hope i praise you for being faithful lord indeed you are a god who is compassionate and your mercies are new every morning thank you for hearing my prayer be glorified always in jesus name i pray amen [Music] let not your heart be troubled believe in god believe also in me those are the words of jesus christ in john chapter 14 verse 1. let not your heart be troubled in other words do not let your heart be afraid don't allow your heart to surrender to fear if you have accepted jesus christ as your lord and savior then you have every reason not to be troubled you have every reason not to be anxious or worried within your heart he said you believe in god believe also in me but why why did jesus choose to say those words to us i believe that the reason we should not let our hearts be troubled can be found in john chapter 14 verse 6 which reads jesus said to him i am the way and the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me and if you move on further to read john chapter 14 verse 16 the bible says and i will ask the father and he will give you another helper to be with you forever and so from these two verses we know that if you have accepted jesus christ into your heart then you have accepted the one who is the way the truth and the life there is nothing that he does not regulate there is nothing that he is unaware of he is the answer he is the solution for all things and the fact that he has given us a helper the wonderful holy spirit this means that we have help in times of trouble we have strength in times of weakness and we have guidance in times of uncertainty so do not let your heart be troubled because if you have accepted jesus christ as your lord and savior and if we submit to his ruling authority in our hearts then you and i become like sheep to the good shepherd and john chapter 10 verse 11 reads i am the good shepherd the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep what a privilege it is to have the son of god to have the first born from the dead the prince of peace say that he will give his life for his sheep and so i want to encourage you to uplift someone or maybe to simply reassure you that you need not to be worried let not your heart be troubled if jesus christ is in your heart then you have accepted the one who is the way the truth and the life you have accepted the good shepherd and he has laid down his life for you so that you may have eternal life now let us pray dear lord my king and my savior in your arms is where i desire to be in your presence is where i am safest and most secure i pray today father for the person who is listening may they know you to be the good shepherd i pray that their reality may be that you make them to lie down in green pastures may you lead them beside the still waters and restore their souls i pray in agreement with psalm 23 verse 5 and 6 which says you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies you anoint my head with oil my cup overflows surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and i shall dwell in the house of the lord forever our hearts will not be troubled by this world in jesus name our hearts will not be troubled by our enemies i pray for each person listening whatever form your enemy comes in whether it's a person whether it's debt whether it's addiction god will cause you to overcome you will dine and feast and you will be blessed at the table that god has prepared for you in the presence of your enemies do not let your heart be troubled in jesus name despite that issue despite that problem the lord will and he has already prepared a table before you in the presence of your enemies meaning that he has already prepared a way for you to overcome he has already given you the keys to victory and so we thank you lord jesus for your word we speak it we confess it and declare psalm 23 verse 6 which says surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and i shall dwell in the house of the lord forever we declare that goodness and mercy shall follow our families and our children goodness and mercy shall follow me so that i will not want or lack for anything because you lord are my provider help us to be obedient to your word may our hearts receive the word spoken in john chapter 14 verse 1 which says let not your heart be troubled you believe in god believe also in me to know you lord is to know the way the truth and the life to know you to know the words that you have spoken to know the miracles signs and wonders that you have performed that gives us confidence and it builds our trust in you because we believe that you will make a way where there seems to be no way you will make good on all your promises promises that tell me that you are preparing a place for us as your children john chapter 14 verse 3 says and if i go and prepare a place for you i will come again and will take you to myself that where i am you may be also i would like to give you thanks for the holy spirit the wonderful helper who acts who guides who teaches and also reminds us of all things concerning you and your kingdom i pray that the holy spirit may lead us may he move us and push us towards you lord towards a closer relationship with you may he be the convicting voice in our hearts that compels us to seek you first and to seek you always i pray that we may be a people who dwell in the secret place of the most high and abide under the shadow of the almighty i thank you for listening to this prayer may you be praised and honored i bless your holy name in the mighty and precious name of jesus christ i pray amen [Music] first peter chapter 1 verse 22 to 25 and the bible reads since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the spirit in sincere love of the brethren love one another fervently with a pure heart having been born again not of corruptible seed but incorruptable through the word of god which lives and abides forever because all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass the grass withers and its flower falls away but the word of the lord endures forever now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you the word of god endures forever all other earthly things will come and go all other earthly things may come but they will pass away however the bible clearly states that god's word should not be compared to these temporal earthly things because his word can stand the test of time so we as believers need to meditate on the word of god we ought to cherish his word we ought to love his word because his word is god himself he is revealed in his word and the message that i would like to give you today is one of encouragement i would like to encourage you to write the word of god memorize the word of god keep it hidden in the chambers of your heart it should be something that you hold on closely because the word of god is like a fire it can refine you of all impurities it refines impurities because 2 corinthians chapter 5 verse 17 says therefore if anyone is in christ the new creation has come and the old has gone the new is here the bible tells us in colossians chapter 3 verse 5 therefore put to death your members which are on the earth fornication uncleanliness passion evil desire covetousness which is idolatry you see the word of god refines you it instructs you about the standards that god expects us to have as his children furthermore his word is like a hammer because it destroys evil and builds and strengthens a godly character in your life the bible tells us in ephesians 5 verse 11 and 12 and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose them for it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret and if you read psalm chapter 1 verse 1 and 2 the bible tells you blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly nor stands in the path of sinners nor sits in the seat of the scornful but his delight is in the law of the lord and in his law he meditates day and night from these short passages of scripture if you are to meditate on such verses if you are to dwell and build your life around the word of god which tells you to have no fellowship with the works of darkness nor to be found standing in the path of sinners these are the principles needed for you and i to maintain a godly character and to live a life that is pleasing to the lord in addition to this the word of god is like a lamp and a light that guides us and gives us direction in this world i say this because if you read ephesians chapter 5 verse 15 to 21 the bible says this be very careful then how you live not as unwise but as wise making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil therefore do not be foolish but understand what the lord's will is do not get drunk on wine which leads to debauchery instead be filled with the spirit speaking to one another with psalms hymns and songs from the spirit sing and make music from your heart to the lord always give thanks to god the father for everything in the name of our lord jesus christ and so with this understanding let us pray lord jesus help me to meditate on your word day and night help me to make it a habit to make it my routine to spend quality time in your word let the bible not just be another book to me but because your word says in second timothy chapter 3 verse 16 all scripture is given by inspiration of god and his profitable doctrine for a proof for correction for instruction in righteousness may your word teach me may it rebuke me correct me and train me in all things pertaining to righteousness in your kingdom lord i pray that the holy spirit would guide me through scripture so that i can begin to understand and to change because of your word as your children lord as we read your word may it cut through every thought and every attitude that stands against you or your will may your word pierce our minds and become rooted in our souls father god i pray that we would be reminded by the holy spirit in our hearts of your word each and every time that we are presented with a choice to do right or wrong may your word lord jesus hold us accountable train me to be a believer who can examine himself based off of your word help me to weigh my motives to weigh my actions and deeds against what your word says [Music] i believe lord that you have given us your word so that we as believers can have a reference so that we can be corrected so that we can know the ways of righteousness and know how to navigate through this life and above all lord as we read your word may we begin to know you to know you more and to know you intimately the bible tells us in john chapter 1 verse 1 in the beginning was the word and the word was with god and the word was god this means that your word has been there from the very beginning of time as we know it your word is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow and your word is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart i pray for a heart and ears that are receptive to your word king jesus just like a mirror may your word expose all of my blemishes against the true likeness of christ with the help of the holy spirit may your word be clear in showing me how i should be living as a born-again believer and just like food may your word provide nourishment to me man cannot live by bread alone but by every word that comes from god lord jesus together with everyone listening in agreement i pray that your word cleanses us may it wash over our lives may your word help us to renew our minds may your word always be with us hidden in our hearts i praise you for hearing this prayer and i glorify your name you alone are the king of kings and the lord of lords in the mighty name of jesus christ i pray amen [Music] when was the last time you prayed for wisdom when was the last time you asked god for wisdom and understanding [Music] we ask the lord for so many things we ask for miracles for possessions for opportunities but have you ever thought what godly wisdom would do to and for you the book of proverbs chapter 4 verse 7 says wisdom is the principle thing therefore get wisdom and in all you're getting get understanding as we go through life as we grow in our walk with christ we must realize that we need wisdom and understanding and this is not the type of wisdom that comes with the experience of living and getting older but rather godly wisdom james 1 verse 5 puts it this way if any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of god who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him i'm amazed at how frank the bible can be at times here in james 1 verse 5 the bible is literally telling me that if i lack wisdom in any area of my life or if i need godly wisdom to guide me through a decision the bible tells me to simply ask the lord for it there is no special test or rigorous criteria for you and i to gain wisdom we just have to ask wisdom can also be gained from reading the word of god and i believe that when it comes to life when it comes to how we should conduct ourselves as christians proverbs chapter 11 offers a great comparison between the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked as i read this passage of scripture measure yourself against god's word [Music] at the same time i encourage you to listen to this passage of scripture and see it as the standard that we should all aspire to reach when it comes to righteousness faithfulness and humility proverbs 11 verses 1 through 12. dishonest scales are an abomination to the lord but a just wait is his delight a different more descriptive translation of the same verse says a false balance and dishonest business practices are extremely offensive to the lord but an accurate scale is his delight now from verse 2 the bible continues to say when pride comes then comes shame but with the humble is wisdom the integrity of the upright will guide them but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them riches do not profit in the day of wrath but righteousness delivers from dead the righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright but the wicked will fall by his own wickedness the righteousness of the upright will deliver them but the unfaithful will be caught by their lust when a wicked man dies his expectation will perish and the hope of the unjust perishes the righteous is delivered from trouble and it comes to the wicked instead the hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered when it goes well with the righteous the city rejoices and when the wicked perish there is jubilation by the blessing of the upright the city is exalted but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked he who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor but a man of understanding holds his peace now let us pray dear father i come before you today knowing that i am not perfect i come before you today as someone who is flawed and i acknowledge that i need you king jesus in all of my ways the word tells me that wisdom is the principle thing and your word tells me to get understanding to get divine insight [Music] lord i pray that you would increase my wisdom and my understanding this day i need your wisdom lord jesus because it will lead me to walk with integrity and in righteousness according to your word in proverbs 11 the righteousness is what will keep my way straight but wickedness will lead to my downfall help me to walk in wisdom lord because your word says the righteous is delivered from trouble and the wicked walks into it instead help me to have the wisdom not to place my trust in riches because proverbs 11 28 says whoever trusts and riches will fall but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf i pray that my trust will be firmly planted on the god of the ages my trust is planted in the king of kings jesus christ give me grace lord and grant me wisdom let me be wise even when it comes to my desires and passions let me not be drawn to things that will result in worldly pleasure guide me in every manner of life from the words that i say to the actions that i take whether i am at work in my home or speaking to my loved ones may i be a person that conducts myself with godly wisdom help me not to be wise in my own eyes lord let me not have a spirit of pride and think that i know all there is to know but instead give me a teachable spirit lord one that is humble and seeks knowledge from above lord your wisdom will lead me to fear you and to depart from wickedness wisdom from you king jesus will be health to my flesh and strength to my bones your wisdom will lead me to honor you with all of my possessions and with the first fruits of all my increase proverbs 3 verse 13 says happy is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding may i experience the happiness and joy of finding wisdom in jesus name because wisdom from you lord is far better than the silver and gold of this earth father help me to walk with sound wisdom all the days of my life because the bible says that wisdom will be life to my soul and grace to my neck when i have godly wisdom when i have discernment and comprehension then i will walk safely in the way of the lord and my foot will not stumble may your name be honored and praised king jesus i trust and believe that you have heard my prayer i trust and believe that by faith i will be given wisdom from above so i thank you in advance king jesus i thank you for wisdom and understanding i thank you for godly counsel and knowledge in jesus mighty and precious name i pray amen and amen
