how do we pray more effectively with more intensity with greater results in this anointed series you'll learn how to intensify the power of god how to obtain the results of prevailing prayer the importance of the three worlds of prayer and the 23 revelations found in the model prayer jesus taught his disciples [Music] ephesians chapter 6 please as i begin this conference this evening and the subject is intensifying the power of prayer in your life i want to see the lord reveal not only himself to you but his power say amen and those of you watching this by video also take your bibles to ephesians chapter six now let's pray father we thank you for your spirit thank you for your anointing thank you that you are our heavenly teacher we pray tonight impart your truth impart your revelation oh holy spirit be our teacher tonight revealing your word to us bringing us all into depth for your name's sake ephesians 6 verse 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit and watching that unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints paul the apostle after giving us the weapons of war tells us that for these weapons to work effectively we must have a prayer life for he begins in verse 10 by declaring finally my brethren be strong in the lord and in the power of his might which shows unite as our job to be strong in the lord we are the one who step into god's strength we don't ask the lord to hit us with it we step into it the lord imparts it but we must receive it say we must receive it the lord gives it say it the lord gives it we receive it so now he says be strong in the lord and in the power of his might and then as you all know he tells us what to do he says put on the whole armor of god that he may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places and so there he gives us the five divisions of satan's army which are number one demon spirits number two principalities or chief rulers number three powers or the greek word exousius and these powers are the ones who operate under the chief rulers authorities four world rulers of darkness and five wicked spirits in heavenlies in the heavenlies five divisions of satan's army that we fight continually for he declares we wrestle not against flesh and blood that's demons but against principalities that's chief rulers against powers or exucias these are authorities that operate under the chief rulers executing their will then against rulers of the darkness of this world these would be men men who are demon-led and demon-influenced and then against spiritual wickedness in high places which i believe are wicked angels and now he says wherefore take unto you the whole armor of god that ye may be able to with stand in the evil day so with that armor we stand in the evil day and having all to stand he said now stand therefore having your loins or your mind your your loins deals with your mind having your loins girt about with truth having on the breastplate of righteousness meaning your heart your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace your walk above all taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fathered darts of the wicked and take the helmet of salvation which is and the sword of the spirit which is the word of god so he gives us the the full armor the full armor number one is the word filling your mind number two the word filling your heart number three the word filling your walk number four the word influencing and affecting your faith above all taking the shield of faith wherewith he shall be able to quench the father doubts of the wicked and then he says take the helmet of salvation and the helmet of salvation doesn't mean you walk around saying i'm saved saved saved that's the doctrine of the gospel that's walking in balance because the devil will trap you if you're living in error you must live in a balanced christian life you must live a balanced christian life knowing the doctrines of the faith and then he goes on to say and the sword of the spirit which of course is god's word and now he says but now this cannot work the the the armor will not work without prayer and then he says praying always with all prayer what is all prayer get me a blackboard up here please so i'll write these things down seven revelations of prayer please write them down number one prayer is confession he says praying with all prayer prayer always begins with confession whenever the saints of god prayed they came and confessed the glory of god they confessed his word they confessed who he is they confessed his acts moses said lord you are god who said peter the apostle in acts said lord who by the mouth of thy prophets have declared so when we confess the word of god we confess who god is we confess what he's done who by the mouth of thy holy prophets have said so confession is prayer now when i say confession i don't mean confessing things to do with ourselves i mean things to do with god who god is we we confess who god is you begin prayer always by confession always by confession you confess the power of god the glory of god the wisdom of god the revelation of god who god is now as you confess and you and and as you read the way the saints prayed you'll find that they always began their prayer with confessing who god is secondly supplication is prayer supplication let your requests be made known paul the apostle said supplication meaning you tell god your need supplication is prayer let your requests be made known that's obligation ask you shall receive that's supplication don't expect god to give you anything until you ask him for it he have not because he asked not james said supplication is vital to you up to your prayer life don't feel like god will be upset with you if you ask him for something it's important thirdly the bible also says that prayer is adoration adoration adoration meaning worship worship is prayer so number three worship we adore him we worship him we we move into a a time of loving him that's prayer if these things are not a part of prayer your prayer is incomplete and then intercession that too is prayer intercession now intercession ladies and gentlemen is the work of the holy spirit intercession is not something you learn in school intercession is a gift from the from the from the holy spirit somebody said well i'll show you how to how to intercede that's not in the in the scriptures because god intercedes through his church it says the spirit groans within that's intercession groanings that cannot be uttered that's intercession we are the vehicle but he is the intercessor he is the intercessor but intercession is a part of prayer and that's when you forget yourself that's when you forget who you are and your need and pray for somebody else and bring them before the throne prayer is also communion communion now there's a big difference between worship and communion because communion deals communion deals with intimacy walking with god on a daily basis in communion praying without ceasing is communion now when paul the apostle said pray with without ceasing he meant two two things number one don't let your prayer life die in other words pray daily pray without ceasing does not mean pray every second because that's impossible there's no way any man can pray every second of the day it's just it's it's naturally impossible because you have to sleep you have to rest and on and on even jesus did not pray every second there are seasons of prayer yes so on one hand when he said pray without ceasing amen don't let your prayer life die don't do don't miss any day let it be continual in other words but secondly prayer without ceasing also happens through communion as you walk out of the prayer closet you take prayer with you you you take that communion with you it lingers upon you it can linger for two hours it may linger a whole day but then the next day is a fresh day you must spend time with god again to rekindle that fire inside of you for prayer and so prayer is communion prayer is also thanksgiving prayer is also thanksgiving we thank him continually for the things he has done in our lives and much more and we thank him for things that are yet to come sometimes you'll pray and ask the lord for something and you'll know in your heart by faith it's there and then from there on you ought to quit asking and start thinking start thanking him for the answer because that's when you activate praise in your life and finally praise his prayer praise his prayer so he says praying with all prayer all prayer is several revelations number one confession number two supplication number three adoration or worship number four intercession number five communion number six thanksgiving number seven praise all those things are called prayer so paul the apostle says praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit meaning all these prayers or all these revelations of prayer are to function under the control of the holy ghost it can't be in the flesh and then it says and watching their unto with all perseverance you can't watch and be alert unless prayer is alive in your life it's impossible to watch and what does it mean to watch to watch means to be alert not to be trapped by satan's devices not to be caught unaware by things that you know come at you the word of god says watch there unto be watchful be alert don't let pollution get into your system that's how you watch don't let the world get hold of your mind that's how you watch say no to things you watch on television that's how you watch say no to temptation that's how you watch flee the with the wickedness and filth of this world that's how you watch and we are bombarded continually by garbage in this world of ours whether you open your tv whether you open a magazine whether you're walking on the street you are being bombarded by garbage but you have the power to say no i won't let that thing affect my life i'm going to stay clean before god and saints do not invite trouble by thinking you're stronger than satan do not walk into the battlefield naked somebody may have missed what i just said somebody thinks well i'm a strong christian i've been saved for 20 years so i can walk into into the demonic realm and get people out of there no no no only those who are led must ever try that don't ever run into the battlefield naked make sure you're led by the spirit see the anointing on me in those massive crusades protects me i would be a fool to go casting devils out of people on the streets unless i'm anointed for it are you listening see now the anointing comes on me on those platforms that's what i'll succeed but if i dare walk away from that anointing walk into the streets of calcutta india and start throwing or casting demons other people on the street i would be attacked and torn apart for i would be out of the will of god you say what did you say i'll say it again it's not by might or by power but by my spirit don't you dare take the sword out unless it's anointed never that's tempting god do not run into a battlefield unless god has gone before you we prepare him a habitation by creating an atmosphere where he may dwell in through worship through praise through his word pre being preached and delivered we prepare an atmosphere and now god moves in and the holy ghost begins to operate are you listening god cannot move outside his tabernacle and i don't mean his tent i'm not talking about some building i'm talking about an atmosphere ready for the holy ghost how many of you are listening and understand this put your hands way up high yeah we cannot see the operation of the holy spirit unless we are within that tabernacle of operation where god is moving liberty is what he is what he is and where is he where two or three are are gathered there he is jesus said where two or three are gathered there in my name there am i so where where is the lord he is what his church is yes his presence is in you yes his presence is around you but the operations of the spirit happen where there is an where there is an atmosphere of power that's why peter and john said look on us peter and john were walking together in unity that anointing was on both of them and when they came to the gate beautiful they said look on us in other words get connected with with the with the world we're in we don't have anything material to give you we give you the power of the name of jesus rise up and walk and the second that man connected with the world they're living in he was healed hallelujah so now psalm 62 11 says power belongs to god say it say it again psalm 62 11 psalm 62 11 says power belongs to god but that power has been promised to you and i in acts 1 8 jesus said ye shall receive power say after me now power say power belongs to god now that power is yours as a believer think about the power of heaven has been promised to you only if you'll ask for it prayer gives it ye shall receive power but what did jesus say terry pray seek that anointing that it belongs to you our attore who worked with deal mori years ago said where there is much prayer there is much power he also said prayer moves the hand that moves the world prayer prayer is not overcoming god's reluctance prayer is laying hold on god's highest willingness write it down please i'll help you if you really want to know what prayer prayer is prayer is not overcoming god's reluctance it's not twisting his arm saying you better do it god now prayer is laying hold on his highest willingness he is more willing to answer than you are willing to pray for it he is more willing to give it than you are willing to receive it all right first samuel 12 23 says prayerlessness is a sin why must we pray i'm going to answer that question today but please know prayerlessness is not a weakness it is a sin not to pray first samuel 12 23 samuel said to israel he said i'll not sin against the lord by not praying for you i'll not sin against god but i'm not praying for you so prayerlessness is not a weakness it is a sin and i'm going to show you how that sin started i'm going to show you the source of prayerlessness and how you can deal with it and overcome it now so much i want to say here to you tonight and i pray that the holy spirit will help you not only receive it but retain it when you enter into your prayer closet remember this psalm 66 verse 18 says if i regard iniquity in my heart the lord will not hear me make sure to enter into that prayer closet clean make sure your heart is right with god if i regard iniquity in my heart the lord will not hear me so these are just a few steps here you ought to know about a few keys that can uh produce power in your prayer life make your prayer life effective so first of all always remember psalm 66 18 if i regard iniquity in my heart the lord will not hear me so before you enter your prayer closet make sure your heart has been cleansed number two uh proverbs 28 and verse 9 he that turneth his ear he that turneth away his ear from hearing the law even his prayer shall be an abomination he who turns his ear away from hearing the word even his prayer will be an abomination so make sure you're living an obedient life if you want to have an effective prayer life not first number one make sure your heart is clean before you enter into that prayer closet number two make sure you're living in obedience to the word of god because proverbs 28 9 says he who turns away his ear from hearing the law even his prayer will become an abomination and then something else that is most remarkable proverbs proverbs 21 13 says who so stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor he also shall cry himself but shall not be heard you want god to hear your prayer make sure to hear the cry of the poor make sure your heart goes out to the needy make sure not to ignore the cries of the needy one thing that i think you and i need to make a habit when you see a poor person begging on the sidewalk give them some money and don't be saying well they're working for somebody it's that's not your job to go find out and investigate who they are you see somebody standing at a stoplight with a bag in his hand you don't know them god knows them you don't know whether they're honest or not honest but god knows but god is watching your action will your heart go out or will you ignore them and say well they're probably rich how do you know what if that was you out there think about that god has blessed you be a blessing because no when you respond to the poor god responds to you so the bible says in proverbs 21 verse 13 whosoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor he also will cry himself but shall not be heard how many here want god to hear your prayers say amen all right so now these are just simple keys the word of god says and gives us if you want to have an effective prayer life obey those three keys is simple one make sure your heart is clean before god if i regard iniquity in my heart the lord won't hear me well i better get a clean heart before i ever walk in and say lord two he who stops his ear from hearing the law even his prayer will become a sin before god and abomination to god well i better be obeying the law of god before i ever pray either i better be obedient before i pray and thirdly if you've said no to the to the poor how can god say yes to you that's something you never think about but you ought to it's in the bible it's in the bible now ladies and gentlemen here are just a few other things you and i need to know about prayer number one now these are something uh these are some other things i've i've dealt with one area now moving to a whole different area when you pray make sure number one you're in the right place there is a place of prayer there is the right place and there is the wrong place you cannot pray effectively in the wrong place are you learning something here now remember what i said earlier what i said earlier deals with with with things on the inside of you your heart before god you make sure you're obedient before god make sure your heart goes out to the poor those things are happening on the inside of you but now there's other things also that are important god said to moses in exodus 33 why don't you turn to that please steve brock exodus 33 beginning at verse 7 through 11. these are just simple powerful keys that can make your prayer life very effective and most go ahead steve thank you and moses took the tabernacle and pitched it without the camp a far off from the camp and called it the tabernacle of the congregation and it came to pass then that everyone which sought the lord went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation which was without the camp right place there has to be a place of prayer they went outside the camp away from the noise away from the distractions away from the troubles away from the problems into a quiet place away from the camp right place keep reading please write to verse 11 please and it came to pass when moses went out into the tabernacle that all the people rose up stood every man at his tent door and looked after moses until he was gone unto the tabernacle and it came to pass as moses entered into the tabernacle the cloudy pillar descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle and the lord talked with moses and i believe it's the same happens with you and i when we enter into that prayer closet shortly thereafter we've been there praying and seeking god the presence of god will always descend upon us always just like with moses maybe you won't see a cloud come down but believe me god will be there amen keep going steve and all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door and all the people rose up and worshiped every man in his tent door and the lord spake unto moses face to face as a man speaketh unto his friend man that's great and he turned again to the camp but his servant joshua the son of none a young man departed not out of the tabernacle that's why god saw joshua because he did not leave the house of prayer wow that's why he was the man who followed moses he was a man of prayer but now you see moses understood a secret a key to effective prayer prayer cannot be effective in the wrong place jesus understood that when he would get up early in the morning and go to the mountain be alone with god by himself a place of prayer is imperative you cannot pray effectively if you're in the wrong place so the right place oh this is so wonderful jesus in matthew 6 6 says enter into thy closet he was saying go to the right place and ladies and gentlemen there's something else that i think uh soul is so important when you get into that right place do not rush in do not just wanna you just wanna come in and go out quickly god knows your heart and god can can see it can can see beyond what you can see he knows you better than you know yourself wait in the presence of the lord till he touches you don't rush in and say all right lord i'm here to receive bye when i'm when you're done bye-bye i'm done don't come in there for selfish reasons because god will not show up then so jeremiah 30 and verse 21 and their nobles shall be of themselves and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them and i will cause him to draw near and he shall approach unto me for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me saith the lord now this is a powerful verse read it read that again slowly and their nobles shall be of themselves and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them and i will cause him to draw near and he shall slow slow down and i god says will cause him will cause him to i will cause him to draw near ah i will cause him to draw near me and he shall approach unto me so he can't approach till he has been drawn right keep going for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me who is this man who can engage his heart till he's brought till he's been drawn how can flesh talk to spirit unless the holy ghost touches that heart how can dust talk to god almighty unless it's been touched by fire that's what he's saying keep going mr brock for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me saith the lord and ye shall be my people and i will be your god that's fellowship he says i'll bring you to myself i'll draw you i'll cause you to come and once you come you'll be my people i'll be your god there'll be fellowship so what must we do we must wait till god draws us now we come physically but only god can draw us spiritually you can come there physically and walk in there but till god touches your heart prayer cannot begin prayer begins when god draws you within psalm 80 psalm 80 verse 18 says quicken me and then i'll call upon thy name so you cannot call upon the name of the lord till god quickens you now how does he do that how how does god quicken us well here's a few things that happened to you turn to psalm 119 look at verse 50. this is my comfort in my affliction for thy word hath quickened me sometimes the lord will quicken you while reading his word sometimes while reading his word you get quickened that's why i i'd like to suggest this to you ladies and gentlemen i have found it's easier to pray after you've read the word get into your prayer closet that prayer place place of prayer and before you utter a word to heaven let god talk to you first don't ever pray if you're tired you're still yawning how can you give god your best when you're not even awake so wake up clean up if you can pray before breakfast fine if you have to eat please do so and make sure you're strong never pray when you're physically weak because if you are if you pray when you are physically weak not only will you not be effective you open the door to satan for satan to attack you because he'll attack you when you're weak not when you're strong god cannot use you if you're worn out tired hungry fainty can't use you you better go get fixed up get yourself all together and then come back and godly and want you but prayer once it becomes a part of your of your life and becomes effective you know something i'm ready in season and out of season i can have a miracle crusade just like that you know why i've learned how to surrender but that's because of a prayer life you can't have the results you see if i'm not praying i won't dare not pray i never show up to the office i never start work i never go and take programs nothing is more important to me that in the morning than spending time with the lord and never preachers if you're here never read the word just so you can preach and never praise just so you can minister you better pray and read so you can be fed so god can touch you so your personal christian life can stay strong and we believers prayer is vital to our existence but i'm giving you keys tonight so important you must be in the right place when you enter that right place make sure you are physically right strong not worn out and then wait upon the lord till he quickens you and often he'll use his word the psalmist said lord your word has quickened me and the song of solomon chapter 1 verse 4 says draw us and then we'll run after you how many i want how many of you want to run after god say amen well he you've got to wait till god draws you now another key for effective prayer you must be in the right position not only the right place but the right position i don't mean the right position physically now okay in numbers 7 verse 89 listen to this and when moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation so he came to the right place to speak with him then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from of the mercy seat oh this is glorious he wasn't only in the right place he was in the right position he was under the mercy seat he was before the ark of the covenant he was under the blood hallelujah numbers 7 89 and when moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony from between the two cherubims and he speak unto him so what is the right position the right position is under the blood my brother you cannot have an effective prayer life until the blood of christ is on you has cleansed you so what is the right position the right position is under the blood what is it what is it hallelujah and then numbers 789 also says moses was ready to hear because he came in and heard the voice of one speaking he was ready to hear you must come with the right disposition you must come ready with your heart open to receive listen to this in prayer it's better to have a heart without words than words without a heart in prayer it's better to have a heart without words than words without a heart if you want to have an effective prayer life do these things but he said ye shall receive power but remember power will not come till we are quickened that's why isaiah 40 verse 31 declares but they that wait upon the lord come on let's say together they that we're upon the lord shall renew their strength they shall what mount up with wings as eagles they shall run not be weary they shall walk and not faint why because they've waited waited to be quickened upon the lord now who does god hear he hears the humble luke 18 verse 9 through 14. he hears the humble number two he hears the righteous psalm 34 15 and the righteous cry and the lord heareth number one he hears the humble luke 18 9 through 14. number two he hears the righteous number three he hears those who fear him psalm 145 verse 18 and 19. and i'm giving you these quickly here make sure to write them down and look them up later he hears those who fear him psalm 145 verse 18 and 19. then he hears those who please him first john 3 22 so who does god hear he hears the humble luke 18 9-14 he hears the righteous psalm 34 15 and 17. he hears those who fear him psalm 145 18 and 19 and he hears those who please him first john 3 22. remember those four portions i've given you because they're important the holy ghost is called the spirit of prayer what what is he called the spirit of the spirit of now i believe the anointing can quicken that prayer life in every believer take your bibles to the book of john the gospel of john chapter 15 and dear god i'm glad i obey the lord jesus declared i am the true vine my father is the husbandman every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away in every branch that bears fruit he purges it it may bring forth more fruit now you're clean through the word which i have spoken unto you abide in me and i in you as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself except it abide in the vine no more can you accept you abide in me i'm the vine he are the branches he that abideth in me and i in him the same bringeth forth much fruit for without me he can do nothing if a man abide not in me he's cast forth as a branch and is withered and man gather them and cast them into the fire and they're burned if you abide in me and my words abide in you ye shall ask what you will and it shall be along to you here we find the the most powerful promise dealing with prevailing prayer ladies and gentlemen prevailing prayer is possible only if we abide continually in the lord he is the secret to great prevailing prayer he is the secret for he declared if he abided me my words abide in you ye shall ask and it shall be done like a branch has no independent life of its own so we even our prayers and prayer life becomes the outcome of christ's life in us even our prayer life is the outcome and the result of christ's life in us now make sure john and don dean it doesn't get hot again now it was cold nearly had icicles on my ears a little earlier but now don't send me to the bahamas don't take me from alaska to the bahamas take me to southern california well the weather is always perfect [Laughter] dallas is hot in the millennium you're going to all move to southern california now jesus said if we abide in him and his word abides in us we will ask in other words we will pray so prayer is the result and the outcome of his life in us you want a prevailing prayer life you want power in your prayer life that's the secret right there the abiding presence of christ produces prayer continual fellowship with god is the key to victory in prayer now once prayer is born in your life last night i dealt with much many of you were here glad you took notes if you were not here get the tape please thank you because i don't want to go through the whole thing i went through last night there's a lot to cover tonight now turn to isaiah 6 please isaiah 6 here are the results you see there's power in prayer prayer once it begins functioning in your life properly i'm not talking about repeating words i'm not talking about empty words vain repetition as jesus called them i'm talking about prayer that's born through the life of christ within you born by the spirit remember what tozo said in his book the pursuit of god he said you cannot seek god till god has sought you that's what we said last night and showed you there from psalm 80 verse 18 what it declares quicken me and i shall call upon my name you can't call upon the lord till you've been touched and quickened in your inner man prayer is not in the flesh prayer is always in the spirit that's why paul the apostle in ephesians 6 18 said praying all prayer and supplication in the spirit in the spirit doesn't mean in tongues prayer in an unknown language is with the spirit when paul the apostle in first corinthians 14 declared pray with the spirit he was talking about praying in an unknown tongue and there are three different forms of tongues that's why they're called tongues and not tonga there's the tongue of acts 2 that was understood there's the tongues of acts 14 verse 1 and 2. that's a mystery and there's the tongue that's equal to prophecy and must be interpreted edifies that edifies the church the first is acts 2 spoken of by paul in corinthians that he that he says or calls it the tongue that's assigned to the unbeliever what is that tongue it's the tongue that's that's understood it's an earthly language they understood them in the book of acts they heard them praising god in different earthly languages then there's the tongue that is a mystery in private a tongue that's only for privacy with god and before god a mystery that no devil understands then there's the tongue that must be interpreted in the assembly for the edifying of the church and yourself so when we say pray with the spirit we mean pray in an unknown tongue or unknown tongues but prayer in the spirit has nothing to do with praying in unknown tongue it has to do with praying under the control and leadership of the holy spirit in other words you can pray in english in the spirit you can pray without words in the spirit it's the it's the prayer born by the holy spirit so paul said in ephesians 6 18 praying all prayer and supplication in the spirit under the control or influence of the spirit not with the spirit but in the spirit but prayer in the spirit is the result or the outcome of the life of christ in you that kind of prayer will produce results result number one is isaiah 6 verse 5 it reveals you to yourself the first result of prayer is a revelation of me to myself it shows you who you are isaiah said i'm a man of unclean lips peter said depart from me i'm a sinner when when that revelation came it's like a massive spotlight comes on your life god shines on you and reveals you to you that's what happened to moses remember moses god said what is in your hand he said he said throw it down it became a serpent i always wonder why that rod did not become an elephant or a giraffe or a spider or whatever it was a serpent why did the rod turn into a serpent because a rod is symbolic of who you are and your office god was revealing moses to moses he was saying to moses look at your nature it's sinful and when he saw his nature he ran away from it prayer reveals who you are to you why in order that you might depend on the lord in order you might say lord i can't do it i can't make it there's nothing in me that you really want i'm sinful lord god reveals us to ourselves in order that we might throw ourselves upon him and say you are my righteousness you are the one i depend upon god does not teach independence he teaches dependence blessed are the poor in spirit those who are dependent upon the lord yes in true dependence there is true independence when you depend upon the lord you become free then you truly are independent and you are truly liberated so now prayer is the outcome of that life of christ in you prayer is not something that you plan in the flesh oh how often we've said i'm going to pray today and seek god and bombard heaven and receive from glory and we fail why because our our prayer is born of the flesh and what is born of the flesh is flesh but if we allow god to touch us if we allow the holy spirit to quicken us prayer is born with power that's why we must enter into our prayer closet and wait wait till we are quickened so isaiah 6 verse 5 says that prayer reveals us to ourselves and brings forth dependency upon the lord then psalm 19 verse 12 and 13 declares prayer has power to cleanse our hearts from sin let me read that portion from the psalms psalm 19 verse 12 and verse 13. oh this is so glorious let me read who can understand his errors cleanse thou me from secret faults keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins let them not have dominion over me then shall i be upright and i shall be innocent from the great transgression prayer has power to cleanse our hearts from sin you get into prayer through prayer and god begins to clean you up so prayer number one true prayer born by the holy ghost will will reveal you to yourself isaiah 6 5 it'll also cleanse your hearts thirdly psalm 17 and verse 5 declares and you're right next door so please turn to psalm 17 look at verse 5 that declares hold up my goings in thy paths that my footsteps slip not prayer has power to hold you and i up keep us walking with god prayer has power to hold you up and keep you walking with the lord hold up my goings in thy paths that my footsteps slip not david prayed that prayer believing god's going to answer it prayer has power to govern your tongue if you truly pray those results will be seen in your life psalm 141 and verse 3 and david declared set a watch o lord before my mouth keep the door of my lips prayer has power to govern your tongue how many want that say yes lord exactly a prayer will do it true prayer will bring forth these results one he'll reveal you to you isaiah 6 5 2 the bible says it will cleanse your hearts three it'll hold you up keep you walking with god and four it'll govern your tongue and keep you saying the right things and number five prayer has power to open our eyes that we might behold wondrous things out of god's law psalm 119 verse 18. oh i love it open thou mine eyes that i may behold wondrous things out of thy law prayer has power to reveal the word you pray in the holy ghost and you watch god reveal his word to you number six prayer has power to bring the holy spirit in all his fullness on your life acts 2 verse 4 and as they prayed in one accord what happened on the day of pentecost the holy spirit fell upon all of them prayer has power to bring the holy spirit in all his fullness and number seven prayer has power to bring salvation to others through you first john 5 16 you can read that for yourself later but the bible is clear on the fact that prayer has power to bring salvation to others as you pray so here we find seven results of prayer in the spirit prayer has power to reveal you to you prayer has power to cleanse your heart from sin prayer has power to hold you up prayer has power to govern your tongue prayer has power to open your eyes to behold of those things out of thy of god's law prayer has power to bring the holy ghost and his powers uh in his power upon your life and prayer has power to bring salvation to others through your life how many want all those results say yes lord i want them now say after me prayer is the highest use to which speech can be put say it again prayer has power sorry prayer is that one more time prayer is the highest use to which to which speech can be put in other words the most powerful thing you can do with your mouth is pray amen is right now everyone say after me prayer can do anything god can do say it again that is a powerful statement you just said something awesome do you believe god can do it all you you believe there's nothing god cannot do right say nothing god can do everything right there's nothing god can't do right so it is with prayer prayer can do anything god can do and if that's the case then prayer is omnipotent wow god is omnipotent so is prayer because if prayer can do anything god can do prayer is omnipotent so there's nothing you cannot receive i mean nothing there's nothing nothing is impossible nothing is impossible if you pray let's say together all things are possible with god and with him who prays see now prayerlessness is a disease you know the reason people don't pray is because they're sick i mean sick in their spirit prayerlessness is a disease it needs a healing prayerlessness is a is a sin you remember what i said yesterday about samuel telling israel i won't sin against the lord by not praying for you so then prayerlessness is not a weakness it's a sin but it's also a disease that must be dealt with and dealt with of the cross now let's let's look at how it begins why is it that people do not pray well there's reasons why let me let me give it to you number one prayerlessness begins or enters in to a life when the fear of god leaves the fear of god keeps us praying the absence of it says well why should i pray that's found in job 15 verse 4. now stephen i can read all those scriptures for me job 15 4 steve hill come up here sit right here beside nancy get him another microphone we can do this real fast you read one and you read another steve you've got a good bible with your king james i hope thank you well only reason for king james is because i'm preaching from king james we're all on the same line yeah so you go to uh you go to job 27 10 steve hill and my friend steve brock is going to be in job 15 4. uh the fear of god once it leaves a life prayer dies job 15 4 says yea thou cast us off fear and restrain us prayer before god one more time steve yea thou cast us off fear you cast off fear and the result is your restrained prayer and restraint and restraint pray before god thou cast us off fear and restrainth prayer before god in other words the absence of the fear of god is the presence of prayerlessness why do people not pray because they just don't fear god the second reason people don't pray is job 27 10 because they do not delight in the lord no no the light of god so i pray go ahead steve hill will he delight himself in the almighty will he always call upon god yeah will he delight himself in the almighty and call upon god why should he call upon god if he is not delighting in god so why is prayerlessness present in people's lives they don't fear god and do not delight in him number three psalm 14 verse 4 steve brock and then isaiah 43 22 steve hill that's the fourth reason but the third reason why people don't pray is because they have no knowledge of god prayer is born out of the knowledge of god in your life psalm 14 verse 4 when there is no knowledge of god people will not pray steve brock please have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge who eat up my people as they eat bread and and call not upon the lord the lord one more time stephen that's a powerful verse have all the workers have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge who eat up my people as they eat bread and call not not upon the lord when they have no knowledge of god why should they pray prayer is the result of knowing god say after me prayer is the result of fearing god delighting in god knowing god that's why people pray and the absence of these is why they don't pray number four now this one is a shocking one but it's true it's in the bible isaiah 43 verse 22 and um steve you go to jeremiah 10 21 because that's the next one number four why don't they pray because they become tired of god imagine you know people getting tired of god what they do isaiah 43 22 22 says it's possible go ahead but thou has not called upon me o jacob but thou has been weary of me think about that that has not called upon me o jacob you've been weary of me oh israel you haven't called on me because you're tired of me people get fair to tell and say well i prayed about that and god didn't answer so why should i bother doing it again and prayerlessness sets in because they well god didn't mean what he said so why should i bother calling on the lord but it really comes back to no fear no delight no knowledge and now they get tired weary of the lord jeremiah 10 21 says when people become brutish and i'll explain that in just a second jeremiah 10 21 for the pastors are become brutish and have not sought the lord therefore therefore they shall not prosper and all their flocks shall be scattered brutus means to consume or to take away in other words people lose the fire they become brutish they lose the fire in their life they become hard-hearted so when they become hard-hearted they quit praying yes sir why pray when you're hard when your heart is hard i pray so these are the results of prayer i should say the causes of prayerlessness here's the sixth reason why people don't pray zephaniah 1 6 zephaniah 1 6 steve hill please and that is when people turn back to the old life when they go back to old habits why should they pray now they're enjoying the devils they used to know there's a danger in visiting all territories the same devils that you used to know are still living there don't go back there anymore you don't belong there anymore zephaniah 1 6 when people go back to the old life and the old neighborhoods and i don't mean natural neighborhoods i you you all know what i'm talking about i said you all know what i'm talking about when people go back to the old way to the old life prayer will die zephaniah 1 6 says and them that are turned back from the lord and those that have not sought the lord nor inquired for him those that have turned back gone back to the old life they have not inquired after him haven't sought after him read it again and them that are turned back from the lord turn back meaning go back to the old life and those that have not sought the lord same crowd those who go back have not sought him nor inquired after him now finally here are the results of this kind of life they are fearful and disastrous look at what prayerlessness will do if you allow it in your life turn with me to job 21. these are this is a frightening a frightening picture but i've got to share it with you in order for you never to visit there never go there you do not live in job 21 but if someone is prayerless they will go there job 21 beginning at verse 14 right to verse 21 these are fearful results therefore they say unto god depart from us for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways what is the almighty that we should serve him and what profit should we have if we pray unto him now this is what the prayerless are saying now look at the results lo their good is not in their hand the counsel of the wicked is far from me prayerlessness will produce no counsel now look at verse 17 how oft is the candle of the wicked put out and how oft cometh their destruction upon them god distributeth sorrows in his anger no light and no protection verse 17 how often is the candle of the wicked put out that's no light how often comes their destruction upon them no protection verse 18 they are a stubble before the wind no preservation and as the chaff that the storm carries away god layeth up his iniquity god laith up his iniquity for his children no forgiveness he rewardeth him and he shall know it his eyes shall see his destruction no blessings and he shall drink the wrath of the almighty verse 21 for what pleasure hath he in his house after him when the number of his months is cut off in the midst no blessings upon his descendants either listen these are frightening results for prayerlessness did you hear what i just read i like to repeat that if you don't mind please i gave you earlier what causes prayerlessness now let me show you the results of prayerlessness results of prayerlessness i'm going to give them to you one more time just underline them in your bible and write them on a piece of paper earlier i gave you the causes of prayerlessness the causes of prayerlessness are just one more time in case you're forgotten no fear of god no delight in god no knowledge of god getting tired of god and becoming hard-hearted and going back to the old life these are the causes of prayerlessness the result of prayerlessness are mentioned in verse 16 right through verse 21 of job 21 verse 14 and 15 say they just don't want to pray why should we pray they say why should we have god's knowledge in us what is the almighty that we should serve him why should we pray to him what prophet is it in prayer is it in prayer and the results are number 16 their good is not in their hand their counsel is weak is is far from them the council of the of the wicked is far from excuse me god says so there's no counsel no imagine someone having no guidance at all number two how often is the candle of the wicked put out no light in their life how often comes their destruction no protection in their life verse 18 they are a stubble before the wind that's no preservation nothing is preserved nothing stays nothing is permanent in their life as the chaff or the wind or the storm carries away god lays up his iniquity for his children ladies and gentlemen you know what this says this says god won't even forgive them no forgiveness clearly we see no forgiveness to those who say why should we pray i remember kathryn kuhlman saying without confession there can be no forgiveness if we confess our sins he is faithful and just if we pray he's faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness but if we don't pray god will not forgive for without confession there can be no forgiveness verse 20 his eyes shall see his destruction think about that no blessings upon his life and then verse 21 for what pleasure hath he in his house after him that's his children that's his future that's these are his his descendants when the number of his months is cut off in the midst what pleasure has he in his house after him no blessings upon his descendants his children reap the results of prayerlessness in their life because mom and dad don't pray saints when people do not pray they bring destruction to themselves and children my god let's get back on our knees so the blessings of god can come on us and our home someone say amen now the reason i've shared all this with you is so that you realize the dangers of prayerlessness it's not something we want now i know somebody will say well it's hard it's not hard what are you talking about you just have to get to do it that's all all right now when we begin to pray how many here never want these horrible results in your life put your hands way up higher then lift both hands and say father in the name of jesus protect me from prayerlessness dear jesus forgive me for the times i neglected you forgive me for the times i did not pray dearest jesus help me anoint me give me fresh hunger for prayer amen now as you pray as you seek the lord things will happen in your life remember movements in the heavens are restricted by movements on the earth say that with me movements in the heavens are restricted by movements on the earth say after me the will of god is governed by my prayer say it again prayer of prayers say god's will is governed by prayer turn to ezekiel 36 look at verse 37 where we see that powerful truth given to us in the scripture ezekiel 36 37 are you learning something okay look at verse 37 of ezekiel 36 thus saith the lord god i will yet for this be inquired off by the house of israel to do it for them so what is it that god wants to do for them he wants to increase them like a flock he says i will increase them with men like a flock but i won't do it till they inquire about me so god shows us his will but will not perform it till we pray so his will is governed by our prayer life that's powerful now say after me there is the secret will and there is the revealed will now remember deuteronomy 29 29 says the secret thing belongs to god deuteronomy 29 29 the secret thing or will belongs to god the secret will belongs to god that will only god knows but the revealed will in it is in his word it's that will that cannot come to pass without your cooperation you must pray to bring it about so what is god's will that is revealed through his word well you read the bible and you find out it's his will to save that none should perish none should perish it's his will to heal it's his will to bless it's his will to restore and on and on psalm 103 contain the fullness of his will if you read one psalm 103 it has the highlights the headlines of the totality of god's will for you let's repeat them together please everybody with me come on psalm 113 bless the lord o my soul and all that is within me bless his holy name bless the lord o my soul and forget not all his benefits now he said all his benefits and in that psalm he gives us the headlines of god's will for our life number one he what forgiveth all thine iniquities so it's god's will then his revealed will is the forgiveness of sin out loud he healeth all thy that's his will he redeemeth thy life from destruction he crowned me with loving kindness and tender mercy he satisfied thy mouth with good things so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles now we think that's all of god's will not so let me show you a little more of god's will in that psalm turn to it please since you haven't memorized it that well and i want steve rock to read the following because beyond he satisfied your mouth with good things that are used as women like the eagles look what what else it it says that's god's revealed will now not secret will but revealed will go on stephen the lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed stop he executes righteousness judgment or justice for all that are oppressed in other words he judges he reveals truth from false and error he justifies and condemns it's his will that the righteous be justified and delivered from condemnation what else he made known his ways unto moses his acts unto the children of israel keep going the lord is merciful and gracious slow to anger and plenteous in mercy revealed will peace plenties and mercy slow to anger and then it says what he not always shy keep going neither will he keep his anger forever like as a father pity at his children so the lord pity of them that fear him what else mr brock he hath not dealt with us after our sins right nor rewarded us rewarded us according to our iniquities what else for as the heaven is high above the earth so great is his mercy toward them that fear him what else mr brown as far as the east is from the west and they do not connect as far as the east is from the west so far hath he removed our transgressions from us had the lord said in his word as far as the north is from the south he'll be different that's good think about it they know where north is and where south is but they do not know what east begin so when god says as far as jesus from the west he was saying you'll never find it out you'll never find you'll never find where the start and the finish is because that's how far i have removed your sins from you simulator and say hallelujah so let's say together as far as the east is from the west so far hath removed our transgressions from us isn't that wonderful what else mr brock i like this like as a father his children so the lord pitieth them that fear him verse 14. can i read verse one yes please go ahead read for he knoweth our frame he and remembrance that we're just my friend that's his revealed will and there's so much more in the in the bible but the the headlines are in psalm 103 yes yes yes none of these though can be ours till we ask for them prayer governs the revealed will of god say it prayer governs the reveal will of god what does john say and this is the confidence that we have in him if we ask anything according to his will he heareth us so what prayer does god hear he hear a prayer that's born out of his will in other words we know his will we go and say father you said i receive amen we have no question that god has promised it but don't go into the unknown and ask for things god never promised that are not revealed the revealed will is the will that we have to pray into reality or into existence we have the promise bring the promise into our experience through prayer so prayer then is according to his will that's why movements in heaven are restricted by movements on the earth thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven god's will in heaven is revealed and acted upon so it must be upon the earth his will is revealed through his word but it cannot be acted upon unless it is sprayed into existence we must read the word as we read the word we discover his revealed will after we we discover his revealed will we know he he'll answer those things that he promised to answer so god says he'll heal me i have legal right to ask for healing god says he'll save my loved ones i have a legal right to ask for that god said said he'll restore i have a legal place that i can ask i take what his will is and i say father now you said i didn't make you promise this you promised it so therefore i ask in the name of jesus will you fulfill what you already said you would in jesus name amen you're done but you have to pray it till it happens don't stop till it happens faith is the substance say substance say substance say substance now let me help you understand substance now do you all understand as far as i've said what i've said now that we read the word we see it's promised we go pray you understand that far if you do say yes i do now you get to prayer and you start focusing on that one promise that you need badly father you said you go back the next day a father you said therefore i ask the next day father you said now the word of god says delight thyself also in the lord he shall give you the desires of thine heart so there are certain desires i have that i may not exactly find in the word specifically but i know that god covers them by saying he'll give me my desires those desires may be little things big things who knows but i don't seem to find a real promise that seemed to fit them but thank god he covers the fact when he says delight thyself in the lord i'll give you your desires now my desire one day was that i should fly to europe i was invited to go and be a part of a group called or skrina shekinau you call it shakkaina back in the 70s 1973 uh marvel mulla watson the lady who wrote the song jehovah jireh same lady and her husband put a group together 63 young people to go to europe i was one of them and we would go from we were to go from city to city proclaiming the gospel through singing and word and on and on and on so now i went and prayed i said oh lord i want to go on that trip please dear jesus please please please i want to go on that trip my father my mom and my brothers were not saved back then henry was a heathen he used to make fun of me and call me noah because my pants were a little short in those days and he'd say hey noah are you expecting a flood today he was a bad boy but now he's safe willie used to work at a gas station and i'd be in prayer oh god and we used to spend the uh uh share the same room and i'd say oh jesus please please please don't let him come in because i'm talking to you and willie would come to the door i would you know hear the footsteps out there and he'd come and just before he get in and turn around and leave well anyways so i'd go everything pray oh jesus please please want to go on and nothing my father and my mom and my brothers and my sisters in those days were not saved therefore they didn't really understand what was going on in my life so now so now after i prayed for at least four months four months my faith one morning became substance i said lord and i knew i had the answer i walked out and i said i'm going i talked to myself i said i'm going they said i knew i was going i knew i was going so much so i had no ticket and no money but my faith was born that morning faith became substance substance is not something you see it's something you know faith is the substance substance is a spiritual matter spiritual substance so now i knew it so i went and got a god i got a bag and packed it the trip was in three days three days that was i think on a saturday on a monday night we had a rehearsal i went to the rehearsal no ticket no money but i was going the flight was the next morning on air canada from toronto to london i had a friend that used to pick me up for church and rehearsal wonderful young lady named ann much older than i but sweet christian and she had a nice car and i didn't have a car in those days so i called and said and would you please pick me up to go to rehearsal she said i'll be there and i got in the car and i said and i'm going to europe you have your ticket no well how you know you're going i said i'm going i just know i'm going she looked at me she said benny are you all right i said and i've never been better i am feeling marvelous marv i said for four months i prayed and now i know i'm going she said well how'd you know i said i just know she stopped the car at a at a stop stop sign was there she stopped the car i was coming out of crossbow crescent guys where i used to live and i came out right to shepherd avenue and right on shepherd she stopped and she said now tell me how do you know i said i just know i just know and she began to cry in the car she said why does jesus only do those things with you and not with me i said what are you talking about she said you seem to have all the faith for everything all the time i said well that's not exactly right and i you know i was really embarrassed didn't know what to tell her so we got to the to the rehearsal and she was shaken up real bad because i told her i was i was going and she said well i had to pay for my ticket she said who's paying for yours i said god that really bothered her she said well she said look she said i'm paying for my ticket and i know i'm going to work because i had to buy my ticket i said ann i have not been able to buy a ticket because i just don't have the money and plus my father won't let me go and won't give me the money because he's not really a christian yet i said you come from a christian home i don't and all i know is i'm going she said well that's not fair she said i have to go pay for my ticket and god's gonna give it to you i said well i said god hasn't given it yet so don't she said well she said the way you're you are talking you know you know you know you're going i know you're going to be there on that flight tomorrow and that really bothers me she said so i didn't want to talk to her anymore in the car so we got to the rehearsal and we we got that in there and you know she was kind of a little all shaken up so we walk in there and mur and merv watson comes up to me two he says the lord spoke to my wife and i last night okay and i knew exactly what i'm gonna say i had no question in my mind he said the lord told us to buy your ticket i said i know thank you very much he gave it to me so i looked at i looked at ann and i went whoa you talking about somebody getting mad at me [Applause] and ann was was a lady back then she was in her 50s i was only like 20 something years old she was a nice little old lady almost went away for me when when when i was 19 anybody was old you know but but but now oh she and she was really crying really bad on the corner the next day i went to my dad i said father i never forget this as long as i said dad can i have some money he said how long are you going for i said three months well i expected him to give me a lot of money he gave me 25 dollars god is my witness my father gave me 25 canadian dollars so i take the and the lord spoke and said to me don't worry about it he said i'll take care of you so now please understand my father and mom were not saved in those days so i my father says call collect and ask for yourself so we know you're there so i said dad i can't do this he says well why not i well i say it's not right i can't do that so i get to london god is my witness if i'm telling you anything that is not true he will judge me i get to london i stayed with a family that the two children went to youth with a mission precious family in london i never met them before and all the kids 63 of us stayed in different homes and so i and some three three or uh three i think others stayed in in in this house so i went over to the to the to the men of the house named tubby so as i said may i please use your phone of course i said i want to call home and tell them i'm here i said now i'll pay you for the phone call he said well it's already said once you're done with the with the phone call we'll call the operator and or i'll talk to the operator and see how much money that's fine so i go pick up the phone dial the operator i said ma'am i want to place a a phone call straight direct call to canada i said would you mind please telling me how much money it's going to cost at the end so come back on the line so we can tell this gentleman so i go through the whole thing so so i talk for about a few minutes and she says tell me again the lady says are you a christian yes ma'am what is your name benny oh now nobody knew me in those days she said well she said the lord spoke to me this morning and told me a young man by the name of benny would be calling and for me to pay for your phone call so i'm like i did not believe it i thought i was in a dream so i i said oh all right i called the house and my father says i told you to call me collect i thought dear god if i told him what really happened he'd never believe it so i'd say nothing i didn't say a word about how it happened i said that it's all right so i said i'm here hang on the phone but before i hung up i said i the lady came back on and i said please would you come talk to her i said she wants to talk to you this man mr tubby comes on and he's shaken up he starts to cry on the phone talking as she tells him she's paying for my call and he said i can't believe this he says an english operator wants to pay for your call do you know her i said no are you sure yes sir he says you're sure i said mr tubby i'm positive i never met her in my life i said maybe it's an angel i don't know all i know is i'm not paying for the phone call and we hang up for three months i'm in europe three months we went to england holland switzerland all over the place there and people were coming up to me after every concert that we had that come up to me people i never knew from adam old people young people the lord told me to give you this lord i had so much money i went and bought luggage clothes and i came back home with three pieces of luggage and new clothes and i looked at my dead and dead dead here's your 25 back somebody shot hallelujah faith is the i just know it but ladies and gentlemen you pray pray pray and one day god says done don't ask again because the next morning you say thank you thank you thank you enter into praise after substance prayer ladies and gentlemen once it becomes substance because now you're praying in god's will oh some amazing things begin to happen it'll bring you by the river jeremiah 31 9 says because this promise declares prayer will cause you an eye to walk with god by the rivers of water where you cannot stumble and will not stop how many of you want to come to a place in life with god you will never stumble that happens in prayer and through prayer jeremiah 31 verse 9 please mr brock they shall come with weeping and with supplication lead them will i see now god again is birthing that prayer because he says will i lead them they come with one more time please they shall come with weeping and with supplication will i lead them will i leave them keep going i will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way wherein they shall not stumble for i am a father to israel and ephraim in my firstborn is my firstborn [Music] you
