Plant Parts for Kids!

hey guys mr. DeMaio and today we're going to talk about plant powered you didn't have to burst through my chest you could have just called me so here we are in our local supermarket yeah but why I don't know forget do you mind if I pick up a few things so there are two types of plants out there flowering and non flowers flowering plants have flowers they bagasse non flowering plants don't flowers correct so now we just have to find a flowering plant to talk gene hey which of you are flowering plants no takers huh here try this hi too many plants someday when I grow up I'm gonna be a big juicy watermelon what jungle cat I haven't decided it yes you totally are what do you think this little one will do the trick to young my parents no one understands me he does not seem like fun oh I'm so lonely I got nobody to call my own oh there we go wait you can hear me yeah why Wow no it's just for the last 12 months my only friend has been disbanded don't judge me so mister plant I got a bunch of parts ahead ears bellybutton but uh do you have parts well first of all we don't even call them pots we call them structures read that right band-aid yeah he doesn't say much on account of being a band-aid at all but us plants do have structures or parts as you call them alright let's start with the best part the belly button [Music] listen I'm sorry to disappoint but plants like me do not have belly buttons ok Alfred Hitchcock what about your butt no no button either you see there are many types of plants out there but seeing as I'm a flower flowering plant I'm gonna talk to you about the four main plant structures that I have roots stem leaf and flower all right so what do we start with well how about the roots a guy like you is surely harder than before well don't you say something pizza is a circle that's cut into triangles but comes in a square what yeah yeah are we supposed to be talking about roots instead of the shape of pizza sorry good here just take a look at this these are the room keys there the plan structure that holds the plate in place also they absorb water and nutrients from the soil some roots can even be food so roots are what keep the plant in the ground yeah so that's why I never see trees driving I guess you could say that all right so what's next next is the stem what's a stem you know it's that skinny middle part that holds me up what I've been calling it a Bowflex huh why why I don't know man just go with it geez use your head dude what's a head that thing that your face is on this thing I've encoded a Bowflex what else do you call Bowflex miny anything that's purple my other knee you know what never mind man you are one weird dude a normal plant would end this conversation based on that but since all I have to talk to is this band-aid I'll just let you talk no offense band-aid oh so what does this Bowflex I mean stem actually do uh here let me show you this is a stem it has quite a few jobs actually but its main purposes are to support and hold up the other parts of the plant and carry water and nutrients to the other parts of the plan piece of cake right yeah cake is so good why we are talking about cake man stay on topic all right back to the important question who is this guy tell me I know you know I'm pretty sure that's a picture of Bigfoot Bigfoot I'm gonna call it a Bowflex idiot anyway mr. Bowflex the next pot so the leaves leave we just started talking I'm beginning to think I'd rather hang out with the band-aid anyway the next pot is the leaf yes this is a leaf it grows off of the stem wha little different depending on the plant but no matter what it's the most important part yes its job is to make the plates food through a process called photosynthesis so leaves are like a food making machine yep it's kind of like a vending machine with Doritos [Music] well imagine a vending machine and instead of just spitting out the food actually made it then you'd have yourself a leaf well do leaves make hotdogs no chicken parmesans still no note to self make plant that makes hotdog hey can we keep this thing moving Pam vada and I were gonna hang out watch a Latin for to search for more Aladdin's and I was gonna watch it alone I'm gonna sit in the dark and pretend I have friends wait before you do that we have the last plant part the flower yeah I forgot let's take a look last but not least this is a flower you would see this structure on flowering plants flowers are the reproductive parts of a plant basically they play a major role in making more than rhonchi there are all the parts of a flower but wait a second did you just say but yeah I did but there it is again but at first I asked you before if plants at butts and you were like both look yeah you know what I'm done with you how about you and your blue friend get out of here fine let's go Andy yeah walk away bozo enjoy your Bowflex ban dated I never needed you anyway need that right band-aid band-aid Oh life is cruel you know what life is a plant it doesn't look that bad well you can bail on just push that button [Music]
