through August 19 please welcome Penn & Teller behind the scenes how how magicians how we practice a lot for about vh1 behind the yes oh yeah you know how you get into it and this is also good anybody at home to watch to learn magic to do it this is for straight sleight of hand you don't like sometimes when baseball players warm up they'll use heavy bats or a couple bats or something we do sleight of hand we use double edge razor blades and that means you're not only going to be quick but you're also going to be very very careful because those things are just those are incredibly sharp yeah and this is the Gillette brand not one the same spelling that I have but these are this is what we use now this razor blades usually think of these are double edged so they're sharp here and they're sharp here and they're not sharp on the sides here usually think of using these to like you know shave a little bit of hair off right right Bob at your Chester sure you can actually use these because it's dull here and dull here this is the classic palm that you use for a coin where you can put in your hand like that a slight you can hold it right in position just like that it looks very natural now if you want to get really advanced the Sun is so they have a stupid that we're doing these sides are very sharp if you don't slide you don't get cut so you can actually Palm it like this ah don't do that hold it like that okay and that gives you a very natural hand position that David Blaine uses when he does his eventual degree yeah that natural air position where there's nothing in alright enough for that now the I'm the one that's not very good at this tellers astonishing I don't know how much you know about sleight of hand but watch this he's gonna do the classic palm here and he does it beautifully and then he can do the right up the slave thing and right across and then your classic out of the sleeve into a glass very nice with the river just hold this grapefruit what you don't know is his whole back is bleeding right now and I put this right in here okay and we're gonna show you another classic now that what you use for us is Halloween gone from practice to practice coins but here's what you would use to to practice cards never seen anybody do a for a strick where they have like four aces out of that and they keeps pretty yeah so you get your four aces one two three four aces you put one ace away and you have one two three four aces that's four aces one two three four and one away and you have two three four aces just like that so you've got four aces one two three four you put one away and you have one and two and three and four aces just like that so that's how you would practice that find a trick now that's I've never felt all I'm doing in this trick is holding this like a complete you're doing a fine job going fine Jeff we're gonna show you a classic illusion that you can do with magic where this is not sleight of hand this is the classic Chinese linking razor blades look right now okay and now Conan you get a chance to do a little something you can pick even one of those razor blades just pick me one of those there this is gonna take some time what if I took 40 minutes right now no okay I watched that one I can take it out we trust you with okay good look and then take that you might want to set it right down there on the table okay it's on the tape and then write your name right across it real big real real definite you can recognize it again all right not even your name anything you want it's too late my name went down okay good and you recognize that again now hold your hand tonin flat like you're feeding a horse it doesn't it doesn't want to hurt you I've never been in the concept I don't know how to feed a horse but it but it will send it right there and don't don't don't move your hand at all trust me yeah the guy we rehearsed this with did and we didn't like that so here we go we're gonna just do this show you this little magic thing here where we take the shaving cream and put it right on there and now cone and say the magic word which is stare at the acid and squeeze squeeze that's it familiar sensation [Applause] not food just tell me give me a lot of credit here anyone to stop him slay I'm gonna stop ya stop right there yeah that's the one you've chosen and you've chosen one of these three beautiful grapefruits there is that too a mess in there that's my shop the menthol with the citrus beautif s is great I do like the thing is a nurse and working with with learning to use a hypodermic needle you first use a grapefruit because the puncturing of the flesh feels exactly the same as if you were cutting into a human's want you to watch this you saw the grapefruit you chose the grapefruit it's 83 yes tell us cutting into the fleshy pink center of the grapefruit and they are in the center of the grapefruit is one razor blade and Conan could you reach in there and get out of the center be careful I don't know if I can get it out here we go right here okay there it is right there and pull it out pull it out and show it to the cab [Applause] that was that was amazing thank Am I crazy, or didn't they say early last year that they planned to release old school Conan for streaming sometime before the year was out? Did this happen and I missed it, or did they end up not doing that at all?
