wouldn't give me a scholarship you know you know when I was in office eight the government governor wouldn't let them give me a scholarship because of the type of cars that I would have parked in was just young people a lot of people can't connect two dots because see when I got arrested it was always me getting arrested I mean you know I used to tell them how to not get arrested so how did I get you they're gonna do it you know sure now you talk about you were kind of the first young person to really blow it kind of was off of drugs in Harlem like how old were you when you really blew up having to keep having it kept happening so who was really financing or indirectly me right okay so so you start out with the jewelry thing but then it went into the drug thing later on financing the drug thing yeah so was it was a cocaine heroin both heroin heroin that was the drug this is before the crack era yeah sure was no crack crack as a cheap girl I mean you know crack is yeah I mean just people got caught out there businessmen Wall Street guys they go somewhere with his crack at next thing you know they're sitting there and ain't got a hat they don't have to have it like you're on you is history the more you can't go anywhere you just wanted more you wanted more you want more you that feeling but there was that rush but they got messed up because for years wealthy people was always using drugs through our Bel Air Beverly Hills California every way rich people they all chewed out was they drug her chokes cocaine you know it was a sex rope you know so now they always did that but they always had a lot of money but they never got hooked cuz it you didn't get hooked but when crack hit it was that rush like heroine and that's what brought everybody down from the top to the bottom now I remember the the movie American Gangster you know which kind of outlined the whole Frank Lucas right now Frank Lucas was before you know same time same time yeah okay so did you interact with Frank Lucas during your time yeah I remember well not in Iraq when you say in Iraq what do you mean I mean well you know each other did you guys ever work together or he saw me I was up caught they went on moving on with their life so I would never do even my life story it would be just the frantic because other people just never gonna happen but it will be real and it will you see it would be a lot realer than an American gangster but I got a lot of calls saying man he doing your nights I know I'm doing my life story first of all you could never do my life suit and I could put the right thing on screen but I'm never gonna I could have let me try and do my life story maybe when Frank might have been in junior high school so since nineteen when I went to Lewisburg federal penitentiary you United Press International send me forms to fill out saying they want to do my life story and the warden won't let them come and see me but they say if I fell out the questionnaire they could create the script from that and when I looked at the first questions it said we understand that your mother you know basically you know was working hard and didn't have lot so you probably did what you could that was it I never read the second question because it's no way in the world I'm gonna blame my mother for me being incarcerated and the guys read Dillard myself on that date he said people you got to do it man you can get out of the other no you can't get me out of here saying my mother got me idiot so I never filled out but they've been trying to my life storage since then but I wouldn't do it and I wasn't gonna do it because once you wake up you know when you know where it is you know what it's not I'm not gonna put something on the big screen a glorify the gangster world because once you put a big screen like you said American Gangster you could never get it back so they'll see the truth in my life story but they don't see the sucker ending to pain they gonna drug out there it is in terms of in terms of really in terms of you know directly affecting people's lives their health and so forth and you also talk about a level of violence that you don't see in other drugs like you know weed or ecstasy or or whatever else but what do you think was some of the most serious situations that you got into during that time well you know what's crazy is it's almost like just serious situations that I was into with the people with the script talked to people I don't you know Dale see him but I think you don't ride around Harlem having shootouts with the police in broad daylight with everybody looking at people getting shot up and 15 in 20 blocks you can't do that in Harlem and people don't see it you can't do that in Harlem and people don't talk about it you see them saying so you can't fake that you could say what you want but the thing that the difference in peewee Kirkland's life and all it and a lot of these guys like just talking and running their mouth normally I don't say nothing but they saw it and they say and I'm only who I am because they said not I said they saw it they've made me who I was I didn't make me [ __ ] I never want to be no gangster the last thing I want to do in my life was to be a damn gangster I wanted to be the greatest point guard ever play the game I became net because I came in an era where I would I would give my life because I someone's I demanded respect so you had to take my life to disrespect me and that led to other things that led to other things and and like I said a lot of incidents where the people with other people I just gave you your idea of incident god of Brooklyn he he basically gotten in Halle bowl with him three hundred thousand dollars basically took it he come to me peewee you know I like that unless people see you as a legitimate force you see them saying so yeah don't things to come out but but people know but you want you and that's why I in the movie said that's okay cuz then you see the other side you see the pain you see the hurt you see the turnaround but sometimes you don't want to talk you got to be careful talk about it because guess what you know needs young kids are different yeah but that I talked to I turn need lives around all I did when I travel all over the country I deal with young youngsters their shooters and what makes me so effective at turn a life around and making them see they life is looking in my life because most of them want to be the boss they want to be the modern day for your customer they want to run the game they want to be a shooter they want that reputation you see them saying and when I make them understand their value then that's when things turn around because unless you value your life why would you value my life you know how easy is it for me to take your life I don't value my own life but so I make them understand their value their life I make them understand you know that it this ain't the only thing this ain't the only weight it's other ways your pretension you know we look at hip-hop and we love hip-hop and hip-hop is a good thing the best thing after generation but it's a side of hip-hop that a lot of young people keep taking advantage of and abusing and trying to connect it with the life of crime connected with the drug gang connected with the word gangster I mean it's some of them lived that life and God bless but I won't be there for every kid because I don't think it's no child in the world whose life can't be turned around because mine was you got guys I know in prison young said God Fisher never met in person in my life doing a double life sentence supreme my Long Island in prison you know saying I'm saying probably never one get out those guys are no different than the P we currently and new came later but all I'm saying to you the government or lock them down they'll never see the street as long as they live you know many people lives up turned around thousand thousand I write things in a magazine like the magazine did the cover fed magazine or the draw game is over can't nobody say that back then with me anybody I was a cinnamon tell that but if I say it then people know it's almost like the Bible they accept it you know many people live there turned around that magazine calls in in New York City in magazine understand what it calls five dollars and guess what they sold it was selling for in Vegas one hundred dollars you see them saying and guess what in prison half the guys was fighting over it arguing old man you got to read that man I'm telling you man is crazy I was on the subway maybe about eighteen months ago the guy woke me said man few wooden bleachers man I'm sorry my wife right here she probably cry said why he said when I was in prison I read that Fed magazine he said man I called my wife I said I'm finished with the game she said what do you mean oh you say you've been going back and going back like this and you're gonna tell me you read a magazine some guy wrote you don't even knowing you finished with the game she said up and seven years period I've been home with my kid weird huh I saw you right now peewee she would cry you see what I'm saying it happens all the time Ludacris you know the rapper Ludacris one time I saw her you know Ludacris told me he said peewee let me tell you something he was on the radio I'm in Atlanta and it was like a basketball game he I walked by he took the earphones off he said people let me tell you something when I read that fact read magazine turned my entire life around there I'm telling you P and he gave me a hook it's all I'm saying people go after the truth I'm saying people know I don't see things in truth you see them saying so all I'm saying you is that's the power that's that mission that's what I didn't know my life was about that was the happiest person you ever met in your entire life from doing what I do because people most people can't talk to the people I'm around and every time I deal with these kids and every time I get between stopping this kid from shooting this kid I'm putting my life on the line because these kids are real about handling their business and people know that the hip-hop world know that I'm not on the the the he hip-hop walls of beauty I'm not there I'm not up there they built that's daytime they belong there I want to be where I'm at you see them saying I want to be doing exactly what I do was doing it in Vegas was doing in California been all the world traveled on through you know about it because when you read if I'm on social media I'm never on social media so only thing could ever be about Pee Wee Kirkland social media is what people say so they got me you see them saying because they know the reality I like like I I'm
