welcome back to another episode of pinch of salt cooking all right today is peach cobble y'all so we got some pie crust over there we're gonna need some ground ginger some ground sentiment um some nutmeg of course you're gonna need some peach slices we are using peaches from the can today some butter lemon juice some vanilla extract and of course some sugar and some flour and let me just tell y'all right now give y'all a fair warning uh yeah you're looking for a healthy version this ain't it boo this is not it but let's go ahead and get started making our peach cobbler [Music] all right so first of all let's go ahead and get these peaches up inside of here so i am doubling okay this recipe let me make sure y'all understand that i am doubling this a recipe okay so i'm using two of the big cans of peaches okay this is 28 ounces cans okay each each can okay 28 ounces let's make sure we got that straight okay y'all know i got a big family so we're gonna double this okay so we're gonna go ahead and add in our vanilla extract we're going to get that into the bowl this is not a bowl y'all this is a pot yup excuse me girl excuse your girl all right let's go ahead and sprinkle in the rest of this spices so we got some nutmeg some ginger and some cinnamon that's all going inside of this pot yes indeedy [Music] all right let's add in this butter okay these are half sticks and that's all you will need for one but i am doubling this recipe so don't come for me okay and we're gonna go ahead and add in the sugar yes that is a lot of sugar so again if you're looking for a healthy version this ain't it boo this has this the same it all right so we got this on the stove now i'm just gonna go ahead and give this a little mix okay i got it on a medium heat so that it can go ahead and start to get that butter melted and that's what we're doing at this point just letting that butter get inside and melt down okay so that's what you want to do for this first step all right so here i am just going to go ahead and get my store-bought crust out yes store-bought y'all make it easy for yourself okay i'm gonna get this out and just roll it out because i am gonna do something a little bit different this time with this crust i am using three of the crust okay usually you only need two but i'm using three for a reason okay i'm just gonna go ahead and cut some strips and you're gonna see what i do with these in a few all right i'm just gonna go ahead and get this aluminum foil and line the pan with these strips and yeah my husband my husband he was like why don't you just let the whole thing in there because i didn't want to because i didn't want to do it okay let me do what i'm doing all right so for the second one i'm going gonna go ahead and cut these actually into strips and then cut them into squares okay so i like to have some of the crust like all the way in the middle of the cobbler so that's why i'm cutting these the way i am and you're going to also see what i do with these other strips don't worry ain't none of this is going to go the way shout out ain't none of it going to go two ways trust me and now i'm going to go ahead and get some flour do that flour and some water and we're just gonna go ahead and mix that together and kind of like make a slurry for the cobbler y'all come on watch me watch me work this let me show you okay so the butter is melting down really nice i added in a tablespoon of lemon juice i wanted to cut up some of that sweetness that was inside of here because we did add in a lot of sugar okay so just want to cut in there a little bit and i like to tell people at this time go ahead and taste your mix as well because you want to make sure it's working for you and your family okay so just give it a little taste and simply the add in any extra sugar or lemon juice all right you can see that is coming along really nicely okay we're gonna give it a little stir and add in that slurry we made from the water and the flour and look i need you to stay around this okay because it's going to thicken up really fast all right so we're gonna let that stay on low for about five to six minutes or so just to help also he'll not kill but get out that flour taste okay but also this helps to thicken up your mixture all right we're gonna get it off the oven and now it's time to go ahead and put our cobbler together so i already had the strips down so we're gonna go ahead and start our first layer we're gonna get those peaches right on inside of there okay get it spread out and then we're gonna go ahead and add in our pieces from the squares we cut up okay so that's all we're gonna do on this part is just go ahead and keep layering putting on some of the peach mixture and then put in some of those uh square pieces of the um crust now this is how i'm doing mine okay you can do yours however you want you can actually take those strips and lay them across it's all up to you there is no right or wrong way to do this y'all it's your goblin so you do what you do okay [Music] so [Music] all right so we're gonna go ahead and put the next pie crust okay right on top and now y'all remember those pieces i had see see i told you so let me do what i do sir so i'm just gonna go ahead and add those right around those pieces that have like a little gap and yeah close some gaps right on up with them pieces y'all use all your crust now i had some extras um filling so i just took it and put it right on top and brushed it there's no peaches in here just the um liquid part of it so we're just gonna take that and we're gonna spread that all over and it's gonna actually help give it a nice like golden brown crust when it's done it's gonna look beautiful i'm going to go ahead and put this onto this sheet pan because i have accents before a big one over but now it's going into the oven at 350 degrees for 35 minutes all right our piece cobbler is done isn't it beautiful now you're gonna let this cool for a little bit before you get all up into it but that is it y'all peace cobbler if you like this give me that thumbs up and go ahead join the family by hitting that subscribe button see you in a pinch
