Pastor Jamal Bryant--He Can't Pull It Back

heard what the man of God cried out against altar head Bethel he stretched out his hand from the altar and said seize him but the hand he stretched out toward the man shriveled up so that he could not pull it back also the altar was split apart and its ashes poured out according to the sign given by the man of God by the word of the Lord I want to reiterate verse number 4 when King Jeroboam heard what the man of God cried out against the altar at Bethel he stretched out his hand from the altar and said seize him but the hand he stretched out towards the man shriveled up so that he could not pull it back you may be seated in the presence of the Lord I want to preach for a little while this morning using as a subject he can't pull it back he can't pull it back look at the person beside you and tell him he cannot pull it back yeah I was in Dallas Texas on yesterday for wedding and while sitting in the wedding something peculiar occurred that struck my attention that I had never seen before they had the usual processional they had melodious singing the entrance of the bride and the bridal party they had the exchanging of the vows and then the exchanging of the Rings but then in this wedding ceremony they had something that I had never seen before that arrested my attention they reenacted a Jewish custom called the Salt Covenant and in the Salt Covenant they in fact gave an understanding of the illustration that they were using salt in their marriage ceremony for a particular reason the reason is because that salt preserves is that in no matter what environment it's in if you put salt on it it'll be able to stay together even though the environment might try to make it fall apart and it is a wonderful thing that God is in fact a preserver when we're in an environment that might want to make us fall apart God has been able to keep us together the other thing about salty officiant said is that salt helps wherever it's on bring flavor out and there's something about being a child of God that no matter what environment you're in people cannot make you sit on your flavor your real character your real anointing your real personality will still come out biblical tradition you will note that salt is deemed as priceless how that you really cannot put a monetary value on it because it is in fact used in biblical record as a form of currency how that's interesting because when we encounter Jesus in the New Testament he says that we are the salt of the earth are being consistent with that then we understand that we are ourselves of priceless and if we are priceless we cannot be bought that nobody can and that compromise who we are because we've already been bought with a price how the word salary by which you get your income derives from the word salt high and so you have the vernacular expression that somebody is not worth their salt how they're not worth their salt means they are not worth their salary or they're not worth getting paid and so I want to ask them a Glens if you'll come quickly in in this wedding ceremony they did of something that absolutely threw me off that I hadn't seen that I want you to see what happened in this wedding ceremony that happens in of the Jewish custom and construct of the wedding ceremony is that they bring the bride and the groom together and when they bring the bride of the groom together they both have a small sack of salt they ask the bride to open up her packet of salt ask the groom to open up his packet of salt and then they ask the groom pour some of your salt in to her into her bag this was in fact a Jewish custom and then after he would have done so they asked the bride pour some of your salt in to his bag then they asked him right out right after they would have completed that to shake off of their bag once they shake up their bag then the priest has the responsibility in the wedding ceremony to say you then separate your salt from her sauce okay can you separate yourself from herself because you can no longer separate your salt from her soul you are now one you cannot separate the bride from the groom thank you so much God is saying the exact same thing is what it is that happens to all of us once the anointing of God comes into our life people cannot separate you from your unknown a who you are in God it doesn't matter whether people like you or do not like you it is why the New Testament writers said what shall separate me from the love of God your height nor depth know nothing shall be able to separate me from the love of God and when you look back over your life and you look at the experiences that you've had that almost try to separate you from your faith you have bad relationships you had a bad job you've come to a crazy economy you had a rough childhood you got insane demonic co-workers and supervisors but in spite of the week that you had when you woke up on Sunday morning you said what she'll be able to separate me from God the problem that the enemy has is that the enemy doesn't know where your relationship with God began he doesn't know that why you were still in your mother's womb that God already had his finger of care on your life that's why it ought to reevaluate your relationships that it no matter no longer matters to you who likes you and who doesn't like you who speaks to you and who doesn't speak to you because whether people come or whether people leave you still got the love of God on your life in somebody on God watch there that you made mistakes but you're still annoying it you fell down but you're still annoying it you did some things that you're sitting there done but you're still got the anointing of God on your life and many of you who had a reason and opportunity to leave God but even when you thought about it you're still got up this morning and press your way to church I gaeta just praise God in the enemy's face and say I'm still here because nothing can separate me the problem that the enemy has is that he cannot root you because he does not know where you came from he doesn't know where you came from many people think that you just arrived in the place of power and anointing that you're in but they don't know it took a whole lot for you to get to the place where you are now can you remember where you were six summers ago do you know that there was a season where as great as the day looks on the outside the last place you would be is in church but because you've been through some things and you like you don't need no self righteous sakes judging you because they got no idea that if it had not been for the Lord that was on my side I don't know where I would be look at the person beside you and say don't get it twisted I don't come a long way if you would have saw me in 2004 if you would have saw me in 98 if you would have saw me in 87 you would be surprised how much glory God has brought out of my life people have no idea what it is that you have come from and that's what it is that we find in the circumference of our text in first Kings that you'll notice that verse number one it says and there was a man of God why is that important it's important because of the writer of Kings does not tell us his name it just says he's a man of God but it doesn't stop there watch what it says in the second Clause of verse number one first Kings chapter 13 it says and he came out of Judah watch me now Judah you know means a praise we don't know his name watch this we don't know where he went before Judah all we know is when he came out of Judah he's the man of God I'm gonna say something to you is that when you praise God it doesn't matter what you did before you got here but when you begin to praise God it will change what you do when you leave here so the enemy wants you to do one thing he wants you to not praise God cuz he knows that when you leave this place God will reorder your steps and put you in a whole other direction I need those of you who need the next 6 months of your life to look better than the first 6 months of the year give God a praise God need you to change my direction hallelujah to the lamb of God how you may be seated please he said washes when I came out of this you may not know my name but you'll know praise is what I do you'll know that I am a praising God says when you praise God today I am giving you another reputation it doesn't matter how many jobs you sold how long you a in jail how much you were running the street but he said if you come out of a praise people will know you as a man and as a woman of God I want some of you right now to rewrite your reputation that when I praise God man of God when I praise God I am a woman of God it says in the text that when he came out of Judah he became known as a mitten and man of God watch I'm now in verse number two how first Kings chapter 13 something crazy happened that I hadn't seen in all of the Holy ridden it says what is that when this man of God showed up at the temple King Jeroboam was standing leaning on the altar now this man of God who ought to be operating in the gift of the prophetic you would think that immediately the army he would begin prophesying to the man he should begin prophesying to the king when this unnamed man of God comes out of Judah he does not begin prophesying to the man watch me he begins prophesying to the altar all right I think I lost some of you here but this is this is very critical the man is standing there leaning on the altar so the man of God should be proper signed to the mayor but the man of God does not prophesy to the man he prophesized to the altar see something has happened in this postmodern church where we are now prophesying people to get things yes we're passing that people might get things but when you read first Kings Russert he does not prophesy to the man he prophesized to the altar I began praying when I read this this week Lord I want you to give me a different dimension of the prophetic that I do not prophesy to people let me prophesy to things alright y'all a loss let me see if I can help you I said Lord let me drive by the Mercedes dealership and roll down the faith but I want you to know that within 24 hours whatever you've been prophesying about he is getting ready to come to pass and I came to tell somebody set your clock for 10:40 Monday morning that whatever it is that you going through step by 10:40 tomorrow morning God has got to give you a sign then what you shouted about in church he is getting ready to come to pass some of y'all are slow let prophesized he propers ask to the altar and when he prophets after the altar why says he names what's getting ready to come oh my god he says ah I pronounce what's gonna be born on this altar what what you saying pastor I'm saying to you you got so much authority that if you ask anything in my name god help me I got to do it for you seek and you shall find knock and the door shall be asked to open ask and it shall be given unto you I dare to tell your neighbor name that neighbor if there's one thing you need God to do for you before the next 24 hours a day it is speak those things that are not don't they already uh somebody shouted he like somebody shouted scholarship somebody shot a mortgage whatever you name I data act like it's already yours that God is already giving you he's getting ready to come god help me and I want you to understand that whatever you spoke moments ago if you had enough carriage and you had enough faith to start speaking it by name god help me the devil wanted you to be silent he didn't want you to speak with the desires of your heart work but because you've been holding on to something so long and you had enough crazy faith just stop speaking it by name God said that what should have happened for years happen in days and this is what I want you to understand that when the prophecy begin to come to pass it was not for the man of God how when the prophecy begin to come the fault come to pass it was for his child it was for his children's children and some of y'all the missing us God said the greatest miracle the greatest mancell that's getting ready to happen the greatest shifting of the Shekinah glory will not necessarily happen for you but it'll happen for your children now those are y'all ain't helping me today those of you who are excited children are gonna be baptized in the presence of the glory of God you either shout for your children damn what'd you win to your children says it will not it will not happen hallelujah will not happen for you if your if your mouth remains shut I gotta get out of here and this is something the king when the King heard the prophecy when the king heard the word watch what the text says I'm in verse number four when the King heard the word why said the King said seize him mm-hmm seize him what's this means hold them hmm her seize him means subdue him see her seize him how means capture him but but when I read of the text the verse before that and the verse after that I'm looking all around it trying to figure out who the king was talking to and how because there is no scriptural evidence that he's speaking to soldiers or troops I think that the King followed the unnamed man's words he says I'm no longer speaking to people hmm but the King said seize him he said if this unnamed man could prophesy to inanimate objects then I can prophesy to virtues hasa when he said seize him what's it have which means to hold them to him don't release him stay on him watch it hey this was not a regular man speaking it it was the king sing yet God yummy I'll get you if you will just hold yourself right we are hold yourself I mean tight right where you are God is saying what's in these film all right help with him you saying season with sees some with help Oh y'all y'all ain't ready for this watch it that whatever impurities are in their body that does not mean my glory I now speak to every disease in your body dad your body is don't be ho because he was wounded for my transgression he was bruised for my iniquity but by your stripes I am healed if you believe you or forsake you I'm better than anybody could ever be and they're still on you do you know how many people committed suicide do you know how many people are in jail do you know how many people are
