One Million Limbs Later. . .

you're setting your rope for a job like you're setting your rope for a job like this try to set it down on the side that you're not gonna drop anything i mean we can't be dropping stuff right here so under the eaves should be a good safe place for my rope theoretically what's up youtube so you know you can't fall everything even though you want to if you're me you want to follow everything so this job is going to be a job where you can't so we're gonna climb this tree it's right behind me there you see that fir tree and the alcove of the building you see it there right in here the tree lanes a little bit of a pain in the butt you know because it's like leaning right over the roof it's a fur tree and it's kind of one of those trees where i can probably just pitch the brush you can probably just manhandle the brush and throw it out the guy did say he doesn't want his forsythia i think he called it damaged and then of course he put his yard card on top of some little flowers there so he probably doesn't want the flowers damaged and i'm assuming he doesn't want the yard cart damaged so that leaves this place right here to drop things um but we have some big roots like there and there and so when it's time to chunk wood we're probably gonna have to be very deliberate to not get a crazy bounce sometimes we'll rig things down when we just want to avoid a bad bounce and sometimes we'll go for a perfect shot so i'm not sure what we'll do today uh but for speed's sake i probably will freehand them i don't know yet i'll go up there and see what happens so with these you can just strip them as you go up depending on what you feel like doing what kind of pressure you want on your belt or you can climb straight to the top right away and be comfy the whole time when you're uh in the best work positioning for swinging limbs by hand but i'm not sure what i'm gonna do yet so far i've just been stripping it out on the way up so if you go around a bundle of limbs with your climb line just a few feet above you then you can get pretty good work position anyway right of course you got your flip line on too [Music] [Music] oh [Music] um [Music] because i'm not really watching three guys wow [Music] wow [Music] [Music] wow i don't know if you guys can see that but it's no accident that the butts are all the same way [Music] some textbook would say that was sketchy but i'm over two limbs right at the base and i'm flip lined in so that's to help me with work positioning i'm not really like swinging or bouncing on that don't do it if you don't like it though i mean freedom right so some of the benefit of what i just did setting and just going is taken away by the fact that i came up here to put the camera there for you but youtube pays me so it's worth it besides i enjoy it oh [Music] oh wow ah [Applause] wow [Applause] ah wow wow ah wow so this is actually a white fur us uh more logger types would call it a white fur and another name that i won't say and if you're like an arboristy type guy you call it a grand fur probably they always got these pustules everywhere in the bark and down low on the tree they have kind of like more needles like this kind of flat um straight across from each other and more in the top of the tree then they'll look kind of more like a dug for where the needles are just bushy in every direction almost almost like spruce maybe even but anyway white fur would be what i would say about this [Music] this in time dude i'm still working on the stuff grinder there we are we're still working on the stump grinder i got a hanger down there i'm gonna see if i can knock it out with some limbs never mind those are in there good we'll have to get those with a hole saw a lot of times you get to do cool stuff like that and then you're happy and then other times you have to admit that you're not always the hero a few minutes later i was just getting ready to bomb that little top and try to break that hanger out and i threw my chain but it would have been out of fuel soon anyway with all these limbs i bet and i'm going to be chunking so i'll switch to the 200. all right here we go here we go that is a tough hanger i couldn't even get it out with the top i got one of them and missed one well actually it bounced it up and set it down in an easier spot to get that's cool that's cool you guys probably want to see he's trying to knock a hanger out of that limb right there with the top that little bowling ball top bullseye oh wow so ah [Music] hmm [Music] ah [Music] up one of those bouncing pieces took out my gopro eight but as you can see it's still recording i got to do a little closer for you damien's about to grind the stump as you can see our little yellow shrub was protected well we got all of this to protect the flyaways and uh yeah it's ready for grinding the guy's little cart is fine underneath the little cart there's the little flowers that they wanted so we're grinding this area so a little bit of a crater right here where we were hitting the pieces no problem there roof everything everything's in good shape those kind of jobs believe it or not they look sketchy to people who don't know but that's the easiest kind of work um it's it's the last it's the least riskiest kind of work there is fallen whole trees the bigger the piece crane work that's where you start really uh getting exhilarated
