all right you guys ready all right everybody we're just getting ready in the morning here's our crane we're just getting the dunge off of this guy and putting it on this guy new crane very exciting pretty freaking sweet this one's a bit taller than that one and a lot of it is a 55 ton and that's a 38 ton so we'll be parking this guy and this will just be our backup crane now so now we've got this new guy pretty freaking sweet but anyways not quite as much deck room on this one um you've got this big black thing right here yeah not quite as much room for wood but we're making dew so we've got some more wood in my truck we need a lot of wood because we're always setting up on hills you know and it just takes a lot of wood to get our truck level but i feel like this one will be even easier to get level though because the piston is so much longer on this one so we'll have more travel versus this this guy so anyways we're just swapping over we've got a big fur that we're gonna crane out with our new crane and it's gonna be freaking sweet yeah and here's the jib that swings out this thing is like 190 feet tall or something when you swing the jib out i think the the the main boom is 151 feet long whereas the old one was 128 feet long it's freaking big it's awesome so time to retire this old grubby piece of crap nah it's been a good it's been a good crane all right so here we are we've got this big fur to crane out today i actually pruned this tree a few years ago um i guess i don't like i guess i didn't like my pruning because now we're taking it down it's pretty big i totally see why they're taking it down you've got nothing but you know the roots just messing with all these structures all the foundations here this fence looks like it took out this chunk of fence and then you've got just buildings everywhere to get hit by limbs so i know they were concerned about that last time we were out here but you know we pruned it they're trying to preserve it already once but it's still being a problematic tree so we're just gonna remove it it's pretty big and the drop zone is really tight here's the setup over here man i'm excited for this crane so we were gonna set it up in the driveway but now we have to factor in the fact that this crane has this big counterweight that sticks off the back of it about 10 feet of tail swing whereas our old crane it didn't have that it was just the cab is right here um well it's not really there's a chair not a cab but anyways when you go around you didn't have the tail whereas this one you know if we set up in the driveway uh brian won't be able to go this way because this tree's in there and he won't be able to swing this way because the tail the counterweights will hit this cedar so we're probably going to lose 20 feet of distance but we're going to set it up right here and shoot for it that way it's the only way it's going to work so it's kind of tricky with the with the new machine you know we gotta factor in some other things like how to deal with this counterweight but it shouldn't be that big of a deal um hopefully we can get over the top of this thing that is loud should get one with a quieter backup alarm maybe we can take this one back and get one that's quieter man that is really annoying that's better yeah that or we could tape over it with some gorilla tape it's a beautiful backup alarm that way it will still make some noise yeah i was going to put tape on it i didn't have anything out of here yeah that's better that backup alarm sounds awesome now yeah looks good so show us how you do this so it's obvious arm arm yep patch pad slick i did not follow that very good levels how do you know if it's level there's a little bubble level right here that it's hard to see from here and then i can also open the cab so i got a level right here okay that side is already out all the way so let's try crazy that's awesome we're level hey look at that all right so um i brush it out you chunk it sound good freaking sweet [Music] you gonna hurt yourself just playing with it yeah but borrowing shots rope runners pretty cool well we don't have our normal tying thing we just use two of these straps alternating directions should be good to go 151 feet dude i'm excited all right buddy take me up maiden voyage goodbye oh dude it's fast dude it's faster than the other one this is so cool wow this is awesome there's the tree whoa okay slow down okay like three feet dude it's noticeably taller up here it's totally awesome just crazy yeah it's been nice and thinned out no duff it's nice keep booming down okay keep booming down all right that's good all right yep all right what are you good for right there brian 6 000 pounds how far away 80 feet away man that's crazy maybe i should swing atop towards you like a little one okay brian um to boom up more see if we can get pressure on that see if you can get above this thing okay so this is probably gonna weigh like 300 pounds but it's gonna travel pretty far you feel good about it i feel pretty good about it and that'll reduce the height like 15 feet okay so here we are i'm gonna just take this little top and i'm just gonna swing it towards the crane i might have because the crane is so much shorter than the tree eventually we want to learn how to swing the jib out and then we'll be able to get over these but for now we're not quite over the top of the tree there's probably 40 feet protruding past the ball um and i could probably just tie it and go way way down make it butt heavy and cut it but it's the first pick with this crane i'm a little nervous to make some huge gigantic cut so i'm just gonna make this small cut for now that'll get the tree a little shorter be safer in the long run you ready brian [Music] oh [Applause] [Music] uh okay all right are you guys ready how'd that feel you didn't feel anything what yeah boy said he didn't feel anything i think he swung like 20 feet towards him oh that's freaking awesome nice job brian you need to do that one more time brian get cable up yup go ahead and boom way up again okay boom up for pressure brian [Music] ready [Music] oh [Music] so [Music] oh yeah that one came off kind of violent because i did another cut and it kind of yeah didn't really peel down like i wanted but that's okay it felt pretty good where i was it didn't look that violent so my idea was i did this little cut so that way when it like peeled it wouldn't pull a bunch of wood out from here but what ended up happening is when i got to here it just snapped off and it ended up flying off the stump kind of quick i wanted it to peel down so it slowly got close to the crane i should have just peeled it and let the wood split a little bit right here it wouldn't have been a big deal that was fine anyways it wasn't that bad but that's why that one came off a little more violent because i was trying that cut that didn't really do much for me anyways it's all good we should get right over the top of this thing now hmm go ahead and boom up for pressure i'm going to take a 16-footer [Music] um [Music] [Music] [Music] ah [Applause] [Music] [Music] yeah hold on yeah i think i'm uh i think we're just sitting there on the shelf go ahead and open that up i'll boom up go ahead boom up oh yeah here we go ah branches okay all right what's that way brian 5600 pounds look at that nice [Music] so see that one looked funky because i cut in and then when i did my shelf cut i didn't quite uh meet up with my cut here so then i did another one and then it met up and it just came right off the shelf okay brian go ahead put pressure on that you're tied on all right sun's coming up all right you are free go ahead and cable up [Music] wow there's mushy one cable up wow god are you booming up or cabling up oh yeah tell me first you just right just that whole backside just drag against me yeah does that make sense though those branches on the back side [Music] those look good all right it's coming along we just got one more brush pick i think then scott will take a turn he'll chunk it and all go down there probably fly the drone what's that way brian so that pick was 4 800 pounds we're 85 feet away from the crane or something like that we're pretty far away we'd only be good for probably 1500 pounds with our other crane out here and we wouldn't have as tall of a stick so this is quite an improvement because he's good for 5600 pounds over this stump yeah our other one would be not as strong so this is pretty sweet it's just one more brush picking we're just trekking right along this is awesome [Applause] [Music] all right one more brush pick and then we're headed down [Music] so yeah [Music] do [Music] wow we're good all right so the truck is full scott's gonna go dump that we'll eat some lunch and then we'll get back at it yep all right scott's back from dumping oh all right hold hold [Music] all right okay i'm flying over all right boom in a little good i like that cable up yep all right creating a basket gonna pick a ball with our new crane we can lift the world with this one i think 55 tons you know i don't think the world is more than that right all right cable up for weight okay there's six what do you want to do 12 footer okay so here [Music] [Music] uh wow jake's having fun what a cool job huh we get to play with cranes big chippers and [Music] drones all right got the drone shot get out of here nothing drops yeah as soon as it like it was floating and then it came over the back side and then dropped that was weird so scott's got that the basket configuration with the two slings on it we could just do it with one sling and then the log would kind of move and tip and uh it'd probably be okay but putting the two slings on there makes it pick more slowly and it moves less so by doing balance picks you can you can therefore do larger picks because it's moving less it's putting less strain on the crane so a lot of the times it takes a little longer to set up the rigging because you got to set two slings but then you're able to take a little bit bigger pieces that way because if you just take a small piece you shake it a bunch i'm nicking away like if you take a 500 pound piece and just drop it into the line you know that piece is gonna weigh like 5 000 pounds worth of pressure so the idea is you know minimize the moving the less it moves the more better it'll be and that's what scott's doing right there this is a fat tree all right plus with the the basket figuration like scott's saying you can just cut straight through it'll just lift right up instead of tipping so it makes it easier to cut when it's rigged up that way i've got a video i did that was one of the first videos i did i don't know how to do a balanced crane pick i've got on there it's really good let's check it out so that was with our old old dumb crane i don't even want to talk about that thing anymore yeah jalopy [Music] uh uh should be good make sure it's about halfway okay cable down yeah what's up there we go nice so there you just saw the disadvantage of the two slings it wants to sit down like this and it'd be kind of hard to lay the logs down but just throw any old object under the butt put it halfway in there and it'll tip over just like a face cut all right cool nice so the reason it's drifting back if brian if you just cinch it if you boom up for pressure then it won't do that instead of cabling up you know you know what i mean if you boom up for pressure then it doesn't swing back over scott's head oh there's terry stuntman terry coming to take her logs away yeah this crane barely moves man when you're working not like the other one that jiggles all over the place this thing's so beefy yep yeah it doesn't matter no is right here again he says yeah it's good this right here is good [Music] so [Music] all right we're gonna try to get this in two more picks [Music] ugh ah [Music] um nice that was a beautiful pick all right [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so huh [Music] boy [Music] [Music] ah i'm taking out the bird feeder dude i know what the problem is a little on there that's okay yeah it's a tight squeeze it's okay if it drags all right good okay hold it hold it all right go go to your left watch that edge of the house or the building we're going to the left so we're going that way jake what oh yeah yeah look at this you're gonna be grinding that he wouldn't let me do it today not yet hey stop come over to come over to the left a little bit yep all right now boom up all right ah thanks kevin fix that great success great success nice so the so the issue is this boom is longer i don't know if you could hear it before but so this boom is longer so when we put the weight on it it wants to bend more than our old crane that's why we thought it was good here and then when he had the weight you know the boom bending down like a fishing pole kind of they're meant to do that ended up bringing into this building so from now on we need to be booming up even more to get the deflection out to get it straight up so that's why that one's swung into the house a little bit so we'll figure it out as we go but it's okay they're cool it didn't really damage anything so we're all good but yeah it does deflect a bit more than our shorter crane did but cool that's about it that's about it that's a successful mission accomplished that's nice to be able to pick pieces right we wouldn't have got this job done today after old crane no because we wouldn't have been able to pick our pieces would have been half as big [Music] yeah nice stunt man terry look at that look at that [Music] nice job terry nice job brian nice job scott yeah nice job me yeah good point nice job kevin i think you're doing a really good job thank you all right that's it so we just got to put the crane away and then we're out of here so that's it for this job hopefully you like that don't forget to like and subscribe please that makes a big difference for me if you subscribe i'd really appreciate it yep hope you like that and thanks for watching
