Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
TLDW: If all cards existed at MSRP then it's absolute shit value against the 3060Ti.
Now it is something you have to decide for yourself if the 3060Ti is worth the 20-30% performance vs whatever both cards will get priced by shops and scalpers.
Alternatives include the 2060/S, and 2070.
So basically, trash value at MSRP. And it's not going to be anyway near MSRP. RIP this card, and rip us.
Love the intro bit and Steveโs dry humor.
Short key points; in some games itโs a $ per 1% performance improvement over the 2060 (which Steve points out is not progress, itโs stagnation). With RTX features the $/% ratio gets better. Side grade at best from a 2060. About on par with 1080ti (and regular 1080 in some) in many of the tests.
Overall โMehโ on the card (for $330 msrp)
I agree with him. But knowing that basically no card will sell at msrp and most are nearly $100 over, my personal take is that this isnโt worth it unless youโre desperate for a GPU and itโs the only one you could get in your cart.
Looks like most cards are listed for slightly cheaper than what a used 1080 (not ti) are going for on eBay. Relative to that itโs โokayโ value. But thatโs if you can get one, and itโs only relative to egregious used prices.
I donโt believe itโs that great of a value (if you canโt get it within ~$50 of the Nvidia suggested $330 msrp). But again the market being what it is, it might be the only card you can get your hand on.
Steve seems to imply that the memory capacity is somewhat arbitrary, but I thought it was due to the 192bit memory bus? Which makes the only reasonable capacity options 6gb or 12gb.
Otherwise it turns into another GTX 970.
Or is the arbitrariness the decision to use the 192bit bus?
Should have been a $250 MSRP card
I know the 329$ msrp is suggested price but the fact that actual retailers list this card currently for 800+ euros is massive bullshit, holy shit
Why does this card have 12GB of VRAM?
Way to close 2060s than 2070s.
TLDW: On avg slower than 2060S and 1080ti, only 1% better price/perf than 2060.
Looks DOA to me.
