I have what in my opinion is the best version of an RTX 3060 and honestly that really doesn't matter too much because they all perform relatively the same the almighty question is even with the best version of the RTX 3060 is that enough for your gaming needs or will you end up needing more especially if you're looking to upgrade from whatever you have right now there are several things you need to know when looking at buying in RTX 3060. in this video I'm going to show you some realistic benchmarks to get a good grasp on the performance of the RTX 3060 and I'm also going to try to help you understand when would be a good time to upgrade to one maybe when you shouldn't along with a few of those key factors you need to be aware of this video is brought to you by SCD key are you tired of Windows 11 from Windows 10. what's up guys my name is Juan and you're watching my channel blueprint PC what I have for you today is the gigabyte aorus GeForce RTX 3060 Elite OC yes it's a long name but it makes up for it because it's a beautiful GPU with a beefy cooler on it now like I already mentioned I think it's a beautiful looking GPU for an RTX 3060 being kind of a lower mid-range card I think it looks pretty good now mind you that's objective and the RGB around the fans is it's something I like I enjoy it I think it looks pretty good the downside is you only get to enjoy it if you have a vertical Mount which typically would add to the budget for most cases anyway and that's kind of a rough sell on a entry level or budget friendly quote-uncle vote GPU now gigabyte clearly didn't cut in Corners with this GPU considering the price of it it is one of the most expensive versions of an RTX 3060 as well we're gonna pit this against my average Gamers test bench which is designed to mimic what actual Gamers have at home and give you performance numbers relative to that now I run my test bench in a pretty unique way compared to some other people I do default settings low medium high no tweaks or adjustments I do that so you can kind of get a realm or a spectrum of what kind of performance you can have depending on the settings you want to use I don't run dlss FSR Ray cherishing rebar Sam any of that stuff I leave those up for you guys to decide because not everybody likes to use certain ones of those and people like their own combinations so this is all about the raw performance of what this card can provide for you after the benchmarks we're going to jump into those key factors I told you that you need to be aware of foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] as you can see from the benchmarks it's a pretty damn good performer in all honesty and now that they're close to MSRP they're becoming a reasonable option to consider buying and here's where the butt comes in and I mean any 3060 not just this variant is that on a good day they're only about 20 better than a 2060 which is still substantial but they're basically on par with a 2060 super the biggest variance is you're going to have a little bit better Ray tracing and better dlss support with these versus the 2060 variants and that's what makes this really tricky when looking to upgrade and I'm going to try to break this down for you as best I can because there's a lot of fine print here to start off if you have a 20 series card period do not upgrade it's not worth it because the only option to really upgrade from is the 2060 and like I said it's only a very minor upgrade on a good day if you're a current 10 series owner you should only consider upgrading to one of these if you have a 1070 or lower because once you get above the 1070 so 1070 TI and and above it gets too close or even becomes outmatched this will lose in some games versus a 1080 or a 1080 TI especially now if you're an AMD user and let's say you're on 6000 series and you own a 64 or 6500 sure it's a viable upgrade anything above that not worth it performance can be too close for the money unless you really really really want better Ray tracing in dlss if you're an AMD 5000 series owner if you have anything above a 5600 XT not worth it again performance is too close unless you're really dying for some Ray tracing the second thing to be aware of is the fact that the larger like the either the bigger coolers or the triple fan versions of the 3060 are severely overpriced this model right now is going for 450 new on NewEgg and similar pricing on Amazon and other sites and in all honesty some of them like this one are a triple slot card which is severe overkill for this you really don't need three slots worth of cooler for an RTX 3060. the Counterpoint to that is it will run cooler in a little bit quieter and hopefully give you a little bit better Headroom for some boosting or overclocking if you're into that the other factor of that is with the large coolers that's not a guarantee that the GPU die itself will actually boost higher or OC better it's just a possibility because they're supposed to be better Bend dies so I would suggest aim for middle of the road cooler size a dual fan or if you can find a cheap triple fan like the gigabyte Eagle ones if they're available they have some cheaper variants out there but do not spend the extra money for these when it comes to the larger coolers they're just not worth it you can usually step up to a different GPU at that point in time with that extra money you're spending I will be doing a follow-up video to this one comparing the RTX 3060 to a couple other gpus potentially here so you guys get a better understanding where the actual performance lies and do me a favor if you like what you saw and want like to see more helpful content please hit that like
