Mormon Missionary Speechless (Walks Away)

[Music] no you believe you're gonna become a God one day yeah why is in the scriptures and the prophets I swear it's all throughout scripture where she really wants to know I guess you could search the Scriptures themselves you know the Bible actually says isaiah 43:10 before me there was no god formed neither shall there be after me I'm the first and I'm gonna last besides me there is no God Joseph thought that there were gods before God and you could become one one day yeah the scriptures condemn that and you're on your mission telling people about a God and a gospel that's contrary to the scriptures then again the Bible has been translated multiple times and through that many things have become lost which I guess is one reason why so you disagree with Jesus when he says that heaven and earth will pass away but it's words would by no means pass away I guess it's kind of like this like we are we're like spirits of our heavenly father or God right and like why would he create something that why would he be something that we because he is our Heavenly Father because we're talking about the God issue okay so Jesus did say they got a preserved his word but but the bible does teach there's a distinction between God as creator and us as creatures we're not we have a carnal mind all right yeah ten you should take a look at that tonight elder know that you should repent people about you're going to be just correct you're going to be an all accountable for one day elder you'll notice that you had no response to the scriptures

The Bible isn’t any more defensible than Mormonism - I wonder how this dude would have responded to the countless criticism against the Bible and the maniacal God of the Old Testament.

As a former missionary, I can tell you that this tactic doesn't work. That missionary will go home with even more conviction that what he believes is true because of the "persecution" he just received.

After all, why would people fight so hard against a belief system if it wasn't true? It's because Satan knows Mormonism is true and wants to destroy it. Therefore any kind of contention towards the church is just proof that the gospel is true.

If you really want to get a Mormon thinking, try street epistemology.

Pastors and scriptorians (aka mastery champions) can go in circles all day long with contradicting scripture. The most this person did is confuse the poor kid who, as all of us were on our missions, is wildly unprepared to actually teach anything beyond the first couple discussions prepared for baptism.

What is upsetting about that guy beyond being a dick, is that he knows this and instead of giving the kid something he can use like a CES pamphlet or a quick dissection of the unreliability of the spirit, he's just making him feel dumb.

But he's a preacher for another church, not an ex-mormon. I value his opinion just as much as Rusty Nelsons.

It may be that these videos ultimately are not arguing 'Star Wars' or 'Star Trek', but I have to say he and his buddy rock a couple of great beards. :-)

Missionary tried - given that his church is dead wrong he did well. Tactically he was on the write path the Bible comes apart if you are talking accuracy. Book of Mormon is far worse but he could have won that exchange given more experience.

There’s a pretty funny video of Jeff Durbin and some other Christian theologian who debate Kwaku. It’s a good watch to see Kwaku get bent.

Another funny story, I was on a kick of watching the Apologia YouTube vids where they debate mormons outside temples and coincidentally, days after watching the videos, I recognized Durbin at Disneyland as I walked by him.
