I remember watching Chris Elliott on Letterman’s stage with a huge table and all sorts of lab equipment to “test” the difference between two different kinds of cooking oils; i.e., polyunsaturated vs regular, or something along those lines.

I was reduced to tears by the time he was done.

His utterly serious, deadpan delivery of absolutely absurd material always slayed me.

I grew up watching Letterman in the 80s. My favorite Chris character was The Fugitive Guy. Truly classic comedy.
