let's learn everything we need to know and understand about co-pilot and Excel from fundamentals to Advanced in today's video we're going to learn how to leverage that little sidebar right there to start creating formulas formatting data creating charts a ton of cool stuff so I'll see you in today's video Welcome Back y'all this is going to be the beginner's guide to co-pilot in Excel if you want to learn how to just even set up co-pilot different cost strategies when getting different features check out that video right there I made it today as well as this is pretty fundamental to start accessing co-pilot this video though specifically we're just going to learn the fundamentals and just how to start leveraging it in the context of excel that being said two major things first major thing I'm getting a new mic this mic's coming in tomorrow I'll probably use it the day after so my video quality for audio is going to sound a lot better I had some comments telling me that I listen to y'all and honestly it is time for change I agree second thing this my Twitter if you like what you see description down below click the link we're good to go let's jump in so to get started here let's just understand co-pilot at a fundamental level I want you to think of copilot like Chad gbt but it's integrated flawlessly with the Microsoft 365 system therefore data communication and stuff of this nature is more simple than alternative means with plugins with chat gbt to show a quick example of this we're going to show basically our ability to export data found within a chat like this into an Excel sheet so it's creating this Excel sheet on the running shoes or top selling women's running shoes as you see here there's a nice little button here we can edit this we can jump over to excel now and start playing around with this data that being said later in this video I'm going to show you an example where we create data push into an Excel but let's just start off past this where we're going to learn and start leveraging co-pilot in this context so I got a new book here fresh book no data no data no data all right let's go ahead and go to co-pilot here it's going to be in your top right once you've done the process still if you're not familiar you can check out that video up there and we're just going to load in some data here so we're going to go ahead and say try an example table and let's just get get a table that we can start playing around the data as you see we got a campaign owner campaign name I'll go and zoom in y'all oh there we go owner name launch date campaign type budget Revenue total users targeted engage users so now we can start leveraging the four main capabilities of this with co-pilot such as adding formula to col columns highlighting specific data points sorting and filtering and analyzing the way you got to think about the workload now in this context is that if you're advanced and you know how to use Excel you've been an Excel user you're an Excel vet you can communicate logically the way you speak to it with terms that you're used to but in Formula context that may have sounded confusing but let me just show you a real quick example I'm going to go ahead and click sort and filter so I want to ahead and make sure I selected the whole table here I'm going to say highlight the revenue that is over 5,000 basically if else is less than greater than I could have put greater than as well over over should be F in this context and we should get there we go highlights nice First Steps talk to it Layman get L get nice results let's go ahead and try another feature here so it seems like the best way to communicate in this context is first we need to select one of those options this fine tunes it in and then we can proceed with our underlying inquiry so in the context of creating a formula let's do that let's take one of these examples here so we're able to combine data points as well we're going to combine campaign owner and campaign name I think this is a great way for you to start learning how to use it better as well using the suggestions as this can give you more insight on what's possible another great possibility would have been basically making a formula here to add all the associated Revenue with this chart there we go so once we get an output like this you didn't necessarily need to know how to do it we can just hit insert column and as you see here we got owner and Campaign which is a combination of this underlying formula here which is campaign owner and campaign name pretty cool go ahead and leverage a little bit more of the sort and filter future so I'm going to click this and we're going to go ahead and say filter out any row with less than 5,000 revenue and enter here notice how I'm not necessarily referencing it by Row 1 through 133 or column F it's able to interpret that and handle that there you go once we do that we have our new Excel sheet with this filter that being said we can either undo by saying this or undo within the chat itself I'm hit undo here and boom we're back to our original Excel sheet it didn't get deleted still here leverage one of its other features here which is analyze I'm going hit analyze and I'm going to go ahead and say give me some insights based on this data so notice we're proctored in it it's looking for some type of analyze question so we provide an analyze question we get the revenue by launch date we can add new sheet we'll create a whole new sheet here and we'll be able to see it so let's go and see that real quick I may need to reload needed to reload as you see it's right here click sheet two and boom looking good looking good knowing all this let's see how we can start leveraging this in co-pilots front end in the context that we want to grab data we are in a new chat so when we want to Proctor in the creation of excel sheets we need to start our inquiry by simply putting create a table this gives context of what we're trying to do and what specific app we're trying to access you're going to notice that a lot that's a big theme in all these videos is we need to identify the app we're trying to uh basically leverage leverage in the context in this example we're just going to say comparing housing prices in Los Angeles to San Francisco what I want to point out is this though I'm going to enter here one thing you may need to use this for is that's a little small chart but one thing you may not use this for is you are dealing with data in your business and you're dealing with creating Excel sheets so instead of you having to manually input it like this a workaround could be using co-pilot and my suggestion for you would be this you would put create a table you would hit semicolon shift enter enter and then you would input all the data unformatted and then let co-pilot do the heavy lifting here creating the rows the columns everything associated with it and then just simply hit edit in Excel this is a nice little Lea frog way of limiting or truncating the amount of work associated with data importation that being said we have our pricing or median price it looks like it's just about the same let me actually show you an example of taking unformatted data pushing it into here using AI to help me out reformatting it and also giving its own input we're going to use an Excel sheet or CS CSV sheet from our Marketplace and this is going to be all of our products so as you see here this entire CSV has all of our products but for right now I'm just going to grab the title column so I'm going simply going to grab this scoll all the way down here and hit command c as you can expect this data is not formatted at all so I'm going to say create a table I'm paste all of this and I'm going to say please make a column for I'm not spelling column correct I know the original title we just gave and also a new one with SEO words added I may need to get more context here but I'm curious on the output here enter here we go y'all pretty impressive right so as you see here the left is the original and actually this is going to excel here we're going to jump over to excel real quick so the left is the original titles and the right is the AI input one when I said make it SEO op that right there may have just clicked some levers in your brain and scratched some parts of your brain like wait that seems powerful you're telling me that I could in theory provide a bunch of data in my business and then have ai not only provide the original data but also AI insightful improvements of that data keep that in mind so that concludes today's tutorial if you feel like you learned something make sure to leave a like it's completely free make sure to subscribe if you want to start learning more how to leverage co-pilot in the context of Microsoft 365 family also there is going to be Advanced versions of these tutorials coming out so I'm going to do an advanced one for Excel docs whatever it may be you can expect it in this playlist you're about to see at the end here without further Ado y'all I'll see you in the next video okay okay leveraging AI with our Excel sheets let's optimize their time let's save some time don't make me manual input no more that was the playlist that video is been specialized using ai's algorithm for you and that button right there something may or may not happen when you click it
