Uh, it's pretty live. >> LENNY: Why don't we jump in the conference room, let's talk about it? As commander, I get briefed on all the high-profile cases that come into the region. How's life in Newark, Pep? >> RASHEEN: Hey, it's rough, but somebody got to live there. >> LENNY: What do you got? >> RASHEEN: This is going to be our target: Samuel Flores. This case has gotten some press release, as you can see. >> Police are searching for Samuel Flores, an escaped prisoner. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and one handcuff. If you have any information, call Newark police. >> RASHEEN: He was arrested for a burglary and ordered to the second precinct. He was placed inside the, uh, interview room. While he was there, he unscrewed the bolts on the bench and, uh, walked out of the precinct, and no one has seen him or heard from him since. Newark has been working this case for months, and, uh, they haven't come up with anything. They have no leads. So they turned the case over to us. He's been convicted for escape before. He's been convicted of burglaries before. So he knows definitely how to get in and out of places. >> LENNY: Regular Houdini, I guess, huh? >> RASHEEN: Yeah. We have a good address for his girlfriend up in Milford, PA. >> LENNY: Milford? >> RASHEEN: Milford. >> Pennsylvania might be a good place that he could be hiding out. >> LENNY: Okay. You got anything else planned? >> Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and go on the database, see the last time he was incarcerated, what institution he was at, and check his visit card to see who was visiting him. >> RASHEEN: We're a month and a half behind him, so... >> LENNY: Okay. >> RASHEEN: ...we got a lot of catching up to do. >> LENNY: All right, guys, let's find Houdini. >> ♪ You bet-- you bet-- You bet-- you bet-- you bet-- ♪ You better run 'Cause I'm coming for you ♪ You better hide 'Cause I'm coming for you ♪ You better ride When it's your turn... >> RASHEEN: We're gonna go to an address which we believe to be some affiliation to the suspect's girlfriend. ♪ ♪ We're in the boonies here. West New York? Okay. Did she tell you why the police would come here? Does Anna speak to Sammy? Do you know? >> DAN: Look at one thing. You have cops at your house now. >> RASHEEN: You have cops at your house, so it is your business. >> DAN: How long has she been with him? Years, right? >> RASHEEN: Like ten years. >> DAN: Years. The whole thing is: a girl that's been with somebody ten years, she's isn't just going to break off all ties with him. She's been dealing with him. >> RASHEEN: How's his relationship with the three- year-old? Her three-year-old? >> Yeah. >> RASHEEN: There is a connection between Anna and Sammy, and the connection is the little three-year-old girl. At this point, we have to find Anna. We have to find Anna. (beeping) >> BOBBY: Hey, what's up? >> RASHEEN: Yo, Papo. >> BOBBY: What's going on? >> RASHEEN: We're just leaving the girlfriend's sister's house. The girlfriend Anna is not here. Supposedly, she's in West New York. Just check a couple of databases for me. >> BOBBY: I'm on it. We're looking for an address to come up in West New York. So what we'll do, we'll take the addresses from the DMV and the Auto Track and start cross- referencing them. (beeping) >> RASHEEN: Hello. >> BOBBY: There's one address here that's associated with her... in West New York. >> RASHEEN: Great, great, man. Good looking. (laughing): Somebody wrote "white boy" on Danny's car. We think our fugitive is hiding here with his girlfriend, Anna. The apartment number that was given to us was A6. There's no A6. Seems like the kind of place somebody would be hiding out at. I could hear people in there. There's a second door. And there's definitely people inside there. (phone beeps) Hey, Danny. Come all the way downstairs and come down to-- come out the back. All right, I need some backup. I got a bad feeling about this. >> Give me a second, Pep. >> RASHEEN: Police. (phone beeping) >> MATT: Go ahead, Pep. >> MATT: All right, sounds good. >> Well, thank you. >> RASHEEN: Thank you. Tell me what you got? >> RASHEEN: Well, listen, we, uh, went out for Anna and, uh, we finally found her. >> LENNY: Okay. >> RASHEEN: She pretty much said that she hasn't heard from Sammy, she doesn't know where Sammy is, but he does have relatives in the Texas, Houston, area. >> LENNY: Think he went down there? >> RASHEEN: I mean, my personal opinion, I don't think so. And he had no money, you know. I don't, I don't think so. >> LENNY: What about Bobby? Bobby come up with anything new? >> MATT: Bobby's back at the office, so we'll get in touch with him when we get back there and see what he came up with. Go from there. >> LENNY: Let's eat, man, I'm starving. >> RASHEEN: I know. But that's my style. And-and-and listen. Listen, listen, see this? >> LENNY: What the... >> RASHEEN: This here? Hood fabulous. >> MATT: What's up, Bobby, how you feeling? >> RASHEEN: What's up? What you got? >> BOBBY: When I checked the, uh, visiting card from the institution... >> RASHEEN: Uh-huh. >> BOBBY: ...there were two names on the visit card. Anna was definitely one and the other one was some guy named Eduardo. >> RASHEEN: Bingo. ♪ ♪ >> RASHEEN: We're gonna go to, uh, a address, uh, of a Eduardo. He appeared to be on the visitor list of Samuel Flores, when he was incarcerated. Uh, he seems to be on probation right now. He has priors of heroin. He also was charged with leader of narcotic network. He was sentenced to seven years back in 1998 for that. So we're gonna go interview him. Let's see if Sammy Flores is there, all right? >> DANNY: All right. >> MARSHAL: All right. >> RASHEEN: We may have two ex-cons in this apartment; one including our guy, Sammy. They both have extensive criminal histories, you know? Uh, that makes this situation a little bit, uh, a little bit different, a little bit more dangerous. (distant siren blaring) (knocking on door) >> DANNY: It's the police. Lights are on. >> RASHEEN: Somebody was walking. >> DANNY: Yeah, lights are on. >> RASHEEN: Hello, open the door, it's the police. >> DANNY: It's the police. >> RASHEEN: It's the police. >> DANNY: The police. >> RASHEEN: The police. >> DANNY: We need to talk to you. >> RASHEEN: We need to talk to you. So if you want to play games, I'm gonna call his probation officer and let her know that he's not cooperating with the police. >> RICHARD: Ten-four. (distant siren wailing) >> RASHEEN: Well... Oh, yeah. Yeah. And I think he's in Texas. >> MARSHAL: In Te-- Yeah. >> RASHEEN: Sammy was just here three weeks ago. And, uh, this guy gave him $150 and said he don't know where he went after that and he didn't hear from him. That's not true, just like he used him as a lifeline, he's gonna continue to use him as a lifeline. His best bet is to turn himself in. Or else we're gonna come get you. And we finally got a good address of Sammy Flores' family. So, it looks like we're going to be headed that way. >> RASHEEN: All right, bye. Hey, fellas, listen up. I just got off the phone with Sammy's girlfriend. I could have swore I overheard Sammy in the background. He is not in Texas. He's in Newark. He's here. She mentioned that she was going shopping in the East Orange area. We need to have all the patrol cars in that area comb for that car. >> MATT: We're looking at two people, male, female in the vehicle. >> DAN: Listen, a 2005 Chevy Malibu, silver, four-door. >> RASHEEN: Sammy has been slipping through the cracks for months now. He's not going to slip away this time. >> LENNY: Danny and Peppers are pretty confident they're going to get this fugitive today. He's escaped twice in the past. He's a regular Houdini. And so, we want to grab him before he takes off again. Okay, let's go. >> RICHARD: There's a good chance our fugitive is probably in this car. >> ALI: If you hear anything, please let us know, all right? Thanks a lot. Peace. >> DAN: I got you. All right. All right, later. Central and Burnette, maybe. >> RASHEEN: That's what I'm talking about, baby. That's what I'm talking about. All right. >> DAN: A patrol car spotted our target vehicle up in the area of Central Avenue and Burnette, which is up in East Orange, so we're going to take a ride up there and try to locate the car. (phone beeping) >> LENNY: Go ahead. >> RASHEEN: It's Pep. ...where we need to canvas for this car, which is going to be roughly between six blocks by 15. And we plan on breaking it up into three sections so we can cover the ground more effectively. Danny and I are going to take the northwest. All right, Richie and Matt, take the southwest. And then, what we need you to do is take the east of Burnette Street. >> LENNY: All right, sounds good. ♪ ♪ (phone trilling) >> DAN: Richie, you gonna come over on, uh, Franklin? ♪ I don't give a about you And your folks ♪ Me and my ... trippin' We ain't no joke ♪ If we really want you We can find you ♪ You know who we are Must I remind you? ♪ It was all good Just a week ago ♪ Now it's time for me To let my heater blow ♪ Look where we are And look where you're not ♪ You must've forgot You ain't on the block. ♪ (phone beeps) >> RASHEEN: All right, we're headed west on Central Avenue. >> RICHARD: West on Central Avenue. Me and Matt are heading north on Harrison. >> LENNY: Yeah, it's a Ford. We're looking for a 2005 silver Chevy Malibu, four-door. It's a huge grid all the way down to South Orange. This is truly a fishing expedition right now. It's like finding a needle in a haystack. >> LENNY: Yeah, Dan, go ahead. >> DAN: A couple people might just want to talk... >> LENNY: Danny, hold on a second. That's it. Positive ID here in the parking lot, on the corner of Munn and Central. I just can't see inside. He's got blacked out windows. >> RICHARD: All right, we're headed back. >> DAN: All right, ten-four. We're pulling in over there now. Which way? >> RASHEEN: So, I can't ID Sammy to be in this car. >> LENNY: All right, ten-four. We got the car located on the north side of Central Avenue. We don't want to set up too close, though, because then we'll hink him up if he's in there. I'm sitting in the parking lot across the street with a good eyeball on the car. Pep and Danny are about ten parking spots to my right. Matt and Richie are on the east side of the lot with eyes on the exit. Waiting to see if Sammy shows up or if he gets out of the car, but I'll tell you, if that car moves, though, we're going to follow it. >> LENNY: He just got out, he just got out, he just got out. >> RASHEEN: Somebody has to get around to block that entrance. >> DAN: Somebody's got to get around... >> RICHARD: All right, no problem, Danny, we got it. >> LENNY: All right, let's go. I got a gate here, but I think I can get through it. >> RASHEEN: It'll go through, it'll open up. >> LENNY: Hold him right here. Hold him right here. Get her out, pull her out. >> RASHEEN: Just relax. I'm Peppers. >> LENNY: You got somebody in the car? All right, all right. >> RASHEEN: When he got out of the car to smoke a cigarette, we ID'd him. You know, easy to identify a big man, you know what I'm saying? We didn't want to take him, throw him down to the ground and tussle with him, but he was a gentleman. We made sure that any avenues of escapes were limited, you know? We knew he already was, you know, tricky, you know, that Houdini stuff, so we put an end to that. He's not going to get anywhere today. He's going down to face the magistrate. It's over, it's a wrap. He's done, son.
