okay here we are at my favorite house lock Airy in East Whiteland Township in East Whiteland Township with my friend the author Tom Nichols who wrote one of the pieces that got me obsessed with the house so the new owners have purchased the house and they start it by cleaning up all the dead trees and showing you the fountain this Fountain was something I discovered shortly before the auction occurred in the spring because I did not realize it was under all the brush look at that it must have been a huge spray Rising feet and feet into the air and I like the power of that the new owners trim the trees the Magnificent huge trees in the front without taking them down [Applause] fountain in the back has been eradicated right Carla yes there is nothing back there that's where the pond used to be too yeah now hopefully Willy will let us in if he's here on this snowy snowy day well here we can go up and look semi-snowy kind of a good day for locky area though it is always a good day this guy does match the Limestone which is why I'm glad I bought my camera yeah and not just my video camera see see the horse yes but now it has a savior it does have a savior okay we're gonna see if we can get in and I'll be back to you people okay we're inside and some of the rooms have been taken down to studs in the back and you can see if you look around evidence of what must have been a couple of fires over time with lock Airy if you look at that beam because I don't think anybody has videotaped the inside of this since the old house tours this is the first time in years so we're going to wander through I don't think I'm going all the way up to the water tower but we will see I'm going to go up the front steps because these steps the servant steps are a little Dusty dirty but yeah demolition has started so the old girl can come back to life here we go into the body of the house okay did somebody have a Halloween party here and look somebody found shoes [Music] well one would hope but they're not 19th Century Shoes okay this is really cool oh you must have found this they must have found these probably from the old motorcycle gang or the former residence sparkling red wine we're gonna have to take pictures of this with my camera and Elmer Elmo po I remember making jokes about Elmo Theo and a sparkling cider for the uh Johnny arms the teeth ones who don't drink yeah but here everybody this is why she's so worth saving look at this house so I learned how to use my zoom properly it would probably help but this was my favorite fireplace because this is the one over the window the extension is really so generous and it looks like a stage set and part of the fire back is intact okay this was a I think a problem either Plumbing problem or a problem from the roof down I forget it's been so long but hopefully some of these medallions can be saved and replicated I think realistically we have to assume that not everything will be able to be saved [Music] um because of expense and craftsmanship so what I'm going to do first is videotape and then I'm going to get out the regular camera and take more still photos the shoes fascinate me yeah they seem very contemporary they look like they're from the 70s hmm yeah actually they do here's the front paw and this it's a little brisk in here today without heat the power is off and we'll be back on I haven't been in this room since the auction I was standing right here the auctioneer was there and the current owners were standing right here by this window [Music] and they had been outbid by the gentleman from New Jersey who in the end I think realized he probably bit off more than he could chew and wisely turned it over to them for restoration now this floor is painted white and I don't believe it was originally white based on a couple photos I have seen and I heard that the Chester County Historical Society has two boxes of photos I am a little low on battery so I'm gonna get as much in on video and then we're going to real camera come up the grand staircase with us you have to I like this carpet I wonder when the carpet is I don't know it's certainly seen better days do you remember if it was in when the sisters lived here um I do not remember Carla no found your art icle from when you were a teenager when you interviewed them aha see remember I told you these things that look like the bikes made marks yes that's extraordinary motorcycle track marks it means they were here like feral cats yeah except I don't know if they were as bad as was told or it was just urban legend I know we need to give them a break here's this fireplace had the weird thing put in it here's the linen closet the windows foreign here's the crazy old bathtub that is original and rather disgusting look at that if that bad Club could talk yes but what would it say oh awesome that's a novel of course I wonder what the original sink looked like that was here well the top is new but the case is original I would guess and I'm guessing that fan didn't live here the temperature in here is very doable it is look at that this is a great room don't you love this room this would be a great study or a small Library I would make this a little Library I think yeah absolutely and this is a nice fireplace and it's another one of the window ones yeah which fascinates me the generous thank you your white fixtures in the snake yep now this looks original well maybe not no the sink is not I think the cases okay but actually I stand corrected that is period because look at the top that's marble um that's the original case that's pretty cool like so see the fixtures they're cool yeah they're really wonderful because see how it looks like a wash stand which ironically design wise people were doing today these are all the things I never got to do during the open houses oh I bet you dude crowded yeah and I was running around with a camera of course here's a box of somebody's memories smokes this is all from the house yep but that I think must belong this must belong to whoever the caretaker was oh I see and here's another bedroom this room has a little less chemdos still has the cupboards yeah and whale we go upstairs because the cupboard's on the third floor are cool that's a closet space yeah Yes actually it was very generous on closet space given the age I discovered that with Addison hunting houses here's the other bathroom that was a mess we weren't allowed back here during no this is where the guy that was the caretaker for the tabis family lived pretty much was this back end of the house I see and here's some more wine there's some weights yes and they're not forwards but they actually have some wings yes they do it's incredible now we have to go upstairs before I run out of battery and I get to switch cameras yeah all right this was the bathroom that the sink was leaking I remember yeah all right okay okay up another staircase if so they'd be oh those came out I don't remember those yet they weren't out you look over the Home Depot where the pond used to be yeah beautiful staircases when you least expect to see them and and down there there's still some original wide plank flooring this is the up to the tower and there was the water thing see it goes all the way up I wonder if it's been closed in it's a really cool view yeah if you want to climb it you okay it's not gonna fall down is it it's a little though that broke since we were here the banister oh it did yeah so you might want to Only Go part way okay all right uh I get the idea it's cool I love the little uh portholes so and I'm guessing these were like linen closets or something yeah they were storage here's some more bedrooms and this was the claw this went up to the little there's like a little crawl space and these are the Wide Plank Floors I was telling you about sorry people it's a little dark I know a lot bigger than you would expect it it just goes on and on and there is water leaks here oh you see yeah so that ends my movie if you think of the lovely lock Airy now I'm going to switch thank you for traveling with us yes frequent flyer miles but we do have mystery
