sorry joel joe e l joel minor prophet but got a major message joel chapter two i want to pick something back up for the people of god on today i thank you so much for um our our worship ministry for leading us in the presence of god and to see amen so many of us here on this morning just to give god the worship let's get ready to hear what god has to say joel chapter 2 starting at verse 25. starting at verse 25 let me let me share with you what the lord has to say listen to what it says in verse 25 ah this is god and i will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten somebody should lift a hand and receive this as is released the great locus and the young hocus the other locust and the locust swarm great army that i sent among you you will have plenty to eat until you are full and you will praise the name of the lord your god who has worked wonders for you never again will my people be ashamed then you will know that i am in israel and i am the lord your god and that there is no other never again who will my people be ashamed never again will my people be ashamed listen to what god says and i will repay you for the years and i will give back i will pay back the years the locust has eaten among you just for a moment people of god i want to talk about from the subject i'm reclaiming my time i'm reclaiming my time somebody ought to shout it i'm reclaiming my time i'm i'm reclaiming my time a very interesting uh statement because it was made popular when it went viral that beautiful california congresswoman maxine waters who we know as auntie was questioning the the treasury the treasury secretary stephen newton when she was allotted a certain amount of time to get her answers from him and and what was so interesting was when new chick started and heard the question what he began to do to avoid the question and answering the question he began to do what they call filibustering he started saying things now now this was interesting because if you if you if you go to it and listen to it go back and listen to it it sounds like he's complimenting her he's giving her these compliments because on the outside he was complimenting her but in actuality he was really just filibustering so he didn't answer the question and attempting to run over all the time that had been allotted for congresswoman to be able to have for her questioning and because she recognized she's began to seep through all of the the bull if you will all of the mumbo jumbo all of the so-called compliments that look like there were compliments and she began to start chastising him saying that's not what i asked you and he kept trying to tell her compliments until she just couldn't take it no more she said i'm reclaiming my time because i'm not going to waste my time listening to you tell me what i already know about myself and i think i need to pause it this ain't an undue sermon but i think i need to go ahead and pause and share with somebody here under the sound of my voice that just because folk are saying good stuff to you don't mean they got the best for you you ought to know you ought to know every every compliment is not a healthy compliment every thing that somebody says to you that may seem like it's it that it's patting you on your back you better hear me when i tell you that everything that is good to you is not always good for you and she began to start shouting i'm reclaiming my time she was yeah questioning him and she made a declaration of reclaiming her time because she knew that prior to it all started she was alive in a certain amount of time and she was not going to allow the time that had been given to her to be wasted by somebody who's not good for her i hope somebody catching this in the spirit so she reclaimed her time it it's interesting because if no other part of the bible if no other part and part in the in in the biblical realm that declares and and helps us understand the the right for the believer to be able to reclaim their time is joel chapter 2 because it is this moment in joel chapter 2 where out of all the things that god values god truly values time it's interesting interesting it's interesting because even even now uh author there's a there's a known author that that that makes this amazing quote that literally says see ordinary people right listen what he says ordinary people think merely of spending time but great people think about using time because if you understand how valuable your time is you don't you you don't use a lot of your energy worried about spending it you think about how you're going to use it and so god values time god values our time he he values our time because it is the moment where he understands that that is the thing you don't get back get a few dollars back but you don't just you can't just go and get your time back but as a believer god makes it very clear that i am the one that can pay back the time we we talked about on last week where the children of judah were were dealing with uh that the invade the invasion of the locust right where some scholars believe it was actually physical locus that came in some actually believe that it was an illustration of trouble and trials that that came in this this is one thing when it's just one bug yeah come on y'all and y'all were going crazy over cicadas it's one thing when it's just one of them bugging you it's another thing when you get swarmed by it that everywhere you look you're being attacked by it this is where the children of god were struggling with because all of them had gone through the season where they had been attacked by swarms of locusts and the locusts did not watch this did not come but for one reason only that was destroying all of their stuff so all of their crops all of their crops all of their their work destroyed all of the work they put in all the seed that had been sown and the time of waiting for the seed to to to to bring forth its fruit and and the harvest and all of what you were waiting to harvest to be able to use to stimulate your own uh well-being and your life and lifestyle and quality of life quantity of life all of it had been destroyed it been destroyed guys it because they were swarmed and what's so interesting is you would be shocked how much time you find yourself losing by being overwhelmed by stuff that goes after your stuff i know i know i know i know this it is it's frustrating because you think about the years right you think about the years of seed that was sown you talk about the seed that that was that was sown and that was that seed that represented the prior harvest destroyed past work destroyed the seed the harvest that came your present work fruit of your labor destroyed and even the seed that represents your future harvest destroyed you'll get seed back seed a comeback fruit eventually will come back but how do you get back the time that you lost it's the frustrating season that you go through when you think about how much time was wasted i want to know am i talking to to real people here today anybody ever look i mean come on you you may look at certain people in your life and you start thinking i just don't believe i gave you that much of my time see see you know you don't think about it until until god starts shifting your season and all then you start thinking to yourself i don't beli wait a minute come on y'all walk y'all walk and see them in the store and ain't nothin about them change still crazy still talking crazy and they just got new victims and you just start looking at the people the new victims like boo i feel sorry for you come on come on guys think about it think about think about all the the times that not just the time that was wasted in relationships but even times related inhabits come on certain habits indeed you see the young people coming up with those same little dirty habits and you sitting there thinking baby you you you might want to let that go now because before you know it yeah you you you cute at 15 now and you think it's all cool and fun now as a teenager but before you know it you're going to be 30 still struggling with it and the very thing you thought was cool you're going to be begging god to get it away from you why give up that much of your time this is what they had to deal with this is what they struggled through they struggled through the moments that so much time had been taken and and but i didn't come to depress you because you think about how much time all of that that you lost because i'm here to tell you that god says i will repay the time now before we even go into what god does i think we need to take a pause for a moment and and talk about what we need to do as we get ready to reclaim our time i think the first thing real quick i want to get to it real quick the first thing i think we need to do as children of god is we we we need to get to a place where we must recall we got to recall we we got to recall we we got to think about some stuff we got to remember some stuff we ought to we have to allow some things to go through our thought pattern to help us watch this and i'll tell you why you have to recall you have to recall because let's just be honest uh you didn't go through this because you were innocent children of judah don't you get it twisted you know why you found yourself in that drama you you no no no you can't play that i didn't do nothing no you can't play that card because there are so there was smith there were many that had gotten to the place where they had turned their backs on god gotten so comfortable and they turned their backs on god and and that's before the swarm that's before the the the overwhelming destruction and devastation that took place he said no you were tripping before this no no let's just be honest let's keep it real 100 can we do it uh i know you can blame a lot of this stuff on the season but if you are for real for real with yourself you were crazy before the season started you got to be lucky y'all got those masks on that people can't read lips so you could just read my read my you know he ain't lying you know he's not lying you were tripping before the season started you you you you were off the chain before it started you you as a people as as god's people as those that are followers of jesus christ those who are walking in the ways of god he said no you had turned a long time ago yeah and i've been begging you to come back to me i've been asking you come back i've been telling you let's get back in order i've been telling you get back into your regimen and there were moments where you just ignored me and god says you better remember remember you know how you got here no you can't point the finger at me because i'm god and god says i i change not i'm the same yesterday today forevermore i'm a god that doesn't change no you heard it in malachi god said i don't change it was you boo you changed and he says i need you to recall i need you to recall what got you here because what sense does it make for you to walk into your new season and repeat the same foolishness you did before come on help me he says that's why i need you to recall i need you to recall i need you to remember what got you here because as soon as the temptation come again you better look at it like oh that's how i got the mess i got in the first place that's how i ended up in the drama the first that's how i lost that much time and that's how much i lost that much money that's how i lost that that many friends i did that the first time he says no you need to recall recall somebody shout i must recall i must he said remember what got you there he says not only do i need you to remember what what got you there but but but here's your here's the part where you can tell god thank you uh i i also remember what got me here because even though i i i i went through it and even though i struggled through it i understand what got me here what got me back to a place where i can still pray what got me back here where i can still be able to say i give god praise why what got me here was the fact that god was with me when i was there and the same god that got me through that is the god that got me right here i want to know am i talking to anybody here that can say i know why i'm here i'm not here because i'm all that cute i'm not here because i'm that smart i'm not here because i had it going on the only reason i'm here is because the hand of god was on my life and god is not through with me yet my god i want to know am i talking to anybody here that can recall you are don't you dare catch amnesia this is not the season for you to act like that you just got this thing and you just so smart about it god said the only reason that you are here right now is because my hand was on your life how many of us can be honest and say this was god's doing god did this god is the one that kept me come on let's be honest coleman ran just ram shaq through the whole house and now some didn't make it and you still did and you just as crazy you did come on let's just be honest god said the only reason you're here is cause i've kept you i need 50 people right now to just take a moment and say god i thank you for keeping me i thank you god it could have been worse yes it was hard yes i shed a lot of tears but it could have been worse and the only reason it wasn't worse is because your hand your hand we must recall we can't we can't forget guys we can't begin i can't forget what what got me here i can't forget why i'm still here it's because god did it he says i need to recall then and god says now when you when you remember oh god and we talked about it last week he said now when you remember what i've done remember who i've been to you he said now you got to return to me right talked about it last week he says now now watch this whoo i need to hear you when we talk about the whole returning we said this this is a turning around this is a repentant people because now because i don't want you claire i don't want you claiming something that that that you're not doing what it takes to get it because now at the end of the day while we're recalling watch this then god will repay now now when god repays right when god repays god says i'm only repaying those who are returning oh come on come on online family come on i need you i need you to talk to me this is this is no no he says this is not for the people who just start claiming it no no no the only reason you are being able to claim this is because god's hand is on it and because god hand is on it god says you can reclaim it because you are returning to me you're repenting to me and i got something special for my repentant people now let me say this for those who repent who are turning i need you not just to to return back from habits but i need you to also return watch this as you turn your back to the way you started seeing yourself once the swarm took place i need you to turn your back to that because if you're not careful you can allow the devastation to make you start seeing yourself differently come on y'all be honest you start thinking something's wrong with you you start thinking that i must be cursed or there's something must be wrong with me or i may god i've been something i've done it must be something me no no god says no it's not because of who you are because i still see something special in you this is interesting guys reminds me of a moment when oh it was just last week really just last week and my son jonathan asked me for a dollar i asked him why he didn't know but he asked so as for a dollar and i said okay so i gave him a dollar bill i gave him a dollar bill and before the day was done right he he had the dollar in his pocket dropped the dollar in the house and simba got a hold of it so simba got a hold of it and when he got a hold of it it ripped in three pieces tore the dollar in three pieces and i'm sitting there like what happened silver did it i said that doggone talk and what's so interesting it was not so much wow simba tore it because jonathan couldn't get over the fact that it was ripped but he was the only one crying went to bed that night woke up to go to the gym the next morning and lo and behold i see these three pieces of the dollar in the trash can and i looked in the trash and said to myself that's why he cried when simba ripped it because he thought what happened to it changed it [Applause] and i don't know who i'm talking to in here today but i'm talking to somebody here today that just because you got dogged you starting to look at yourself as trash but i thank god that god says regardless of what happened to you it does not change the value of you my god i want to know am i talking to somebody here that can just pat your chest real quick and say i'm still somebody i'm sorry i still got value and even though i may have been ripped before it doesn't change who i am god said that's why i got to repay the time because you wasted too much time operating in a trashy life because somebody ripped you somebody dogs you and you took it from there and start treating yourself like trash i need somebody right now if you're watching this i don't care where you are what part of the country you're in but you better believe put it in the chat i still have value and even though physically i've changed because i didn't ask to be treated like this but i can still declare that i still have my value and god says i will repay and he didn't even say i'll repay your fruit he didn't say i'll repay your your produce he didn't say i'll i'll repay all of your money no no he didn't even go into resources god says i'll repay your time now repaying time is shouting for one group and it's misery for another group because at the end of the day god says i'm not getting ready to bless my lazy people god said i'm about to give you time so you can get back on your grind i'm trying to help somebody god said i i'm only giving you time i'm giving you a time back because i know how much grind you're getting ready to put in i know how much work you're getting put in now if you think you just gonna sit there and automatically think somebody gonna drop it in your lap and all you gotta do is just wait in the wait wait for it to come in the mail that you are in for a big disappointment i promise you in fact in a few more months you really some of us gonna really be disappointed because god said that i didn't put it in place for you to keep getting it dropped in your lap for the rest of your life i only gave you enough time so you can get back on your grind look at somebody tell them go back to work go back get back to work get back to work get back on your crime get back get allow your creativity to come back because ain't nobody gonna keep giving you anything god said i'm going to repay the years once i give you your time back then you'll get back on your cry you'll start sowing the seed again you'll start harvesting again god says that when it happens you're going to be blessed beyond measure he says you can work again oh i'll give you your strength back i'll give you your joy back i'll give you your seed back i'll give it all back i'll i'll give it no no look you got to know what to do with your seed you got to work it you got to you got to work it somebody shout you got to work it he says now when you're working i'm i'm going to put you to work god said i'm going to bless you your socks off and and people are going to look and see wait a minute wait it's in fact it's going to look so good that's why i know when god repays the years because it's gonna make you look so good that people are not even going to know how much mess you went through with the locust cane in fact that's why you got to share your testimony you're going to have to tell people oh no don't get it twisted i hadn't always been here i had always been at this place there was a season in my life when i was broker than a joke do i have five people that could say amen to that and god turned my season around because god is a god that will repay my years yeah you could you could talk about the years of blessing that god has i refuse to ignore the years that i went through where i was wondering god did you even exist god did you even care god where are you god why are you allowing me to go through this god why do i have to keep seeing this god are you serious right now god why the tears another year another hurt another disappointment another bad guy said that's all right because all of that that you went through i was i was there and i saw the tears you shared i saw the pain you endured but i also saw the worship that was still in you i also noticed the praise that was still on your lips i also noticed the the level of love and work you were still grinding and if you still can't give god a grind in your pain god says i'm getting ready to re-claim your time somebody shout i'm reclaiming my time i'm reclaiming my time god says i'll pay it all back i'm giving it all back oh my god i'm giving it all back i'm giving your joy back i'm giving you it all back i'm giving you a piece back i'm giving i'm giving it all back somebody ought to catch it in your spirit i'm giving it back i'm giving you your smile back you don't smile like that the way you used to i'm giving it i'm giving it all back somebody ought to shout i receive it i'm giving you your strength back i'm giving you your creativity back because all that stuff you went through you couldn't think clearly god said that's all right i'm about to give it all giving it all i'm giving it all back i'm giving it all back and so my question to you is this if god repays you if god repays you if god does it you've recalled and all of that and god has repaid you then what's your responsibility [Laughter] hold up just in case you think that i made it up listen to what he says he says you'll have plenty to eat he says watch this and you will praise the name he says you'll have plenty to eat until you're full and you will praise the name of the lord your god and he says no more shame my god no more embarrassment no more people looking at you at the federal union talking crazy are you ready to slap them no more people saying one thing to you but talking about you behind your back god says the shame is over and i don't know do i have anybody here that can say god i thank you for pulling the shame off of me for pulling the embarrassment off of me god says and when you watch this when i pull the shame off of you you better give the praise and bring it back to me do i have anybody here now i can say god if you're going to pay me back the years then god for the rest of my life i'll continue to open up my mouth and give you the glory and the praise that is truly do your name in fact i wonder do i have anybody here that you don't even have to wait till you get it all back you ought to go out and bless god in advance god i'm reclaiming it i'm proclaiming it i give you praise for me reclaiming my time it says wait a minute hold up pastor you wait so you just gonna leave us you wanna leave us with the broke dollar story gonna leave us with the broke side did it just stay broken like that oh no i'm sorry let me go and give you the rest of the story so what what happened was i i took the the money out of the trash and i started looking when i got back home around for a certain type of tape i said devil is a lot we going to spend this one in jesus name but i couldn't find the right tape and then i thought to myself i said wait oh no it's okay i don't have to have it here i got some tape like this at the church [Music] [Applause] so i took it to the church and when i took it back to the church i started putting stuff back together put it back together and put another piece back together and flattened out another piece and flattened out another piece and before you knew it that dollar that was ripped up and torn that same dollar that looked like it was in this that was in the trash that same dollar i'm on my way to the store with it why because i know that when you put it in the father's hands god will take what is ripped and torn and put it back together again i want to know do i have anybody here come on let's go home is there anybody here that could take one moment and give your god praise you ought to thank god that i was ripped in my past i got dogged in my past but when i think about the goodness of jesus and he's done for me he can put me back together again is there anybody here no god will put you back together shouty ass [Music] lift your hands to this place with your hands lift your hands with your ass oh god welcome break your car that should put me back together thank you john i may be torn but i don't look like what i've been through [Music] oh god thank you jesus thank you jesus thank you jesus that you took me at the trash and put me in the treasure thank you god that you took me from being dog to putting being put back together again somebody shall thank you god tell them god god give me back the time give me give it back give it back it took so much out of me and and as much as i should have kept going i kept lingering in lousiness hands lifted i reclaim my time come on i don't care where you are right in your seat right where you are somebody ought to declare i'm reclaiming my my time father i thank you that what should have destroyed me it made me smarter and i thank you and give you glory [Music] father i ask you now in jesus name [Music] forgive me for the season [Music] that i turn my back from you forgive me that i didn't put the time in with you that i know i should have [Music] lesson learned lesson learned now i thank you i thank you for the shame that you're lifting off that people used to try to avoid me now they blowing the phones up god thank you they wouldn't answer the phone when we called now they're getting ready to blow our phones up god thank you for pulling the shame off and we give you glory you've been good father there's somebody on the sound of my voice that needs oh god needs to return to you needs to connect with you needs to reconnect with you speak to their hearts that they can make the best decision they've ever made and father we give you all the honor all the glory and all the praises in jesus name that we declare it as so somebody shout amen amen and amen was anybody blessed by the
