I'm going to be building the first night Lego set in both real-life and replicating it blocked for block inside Minecraft and I was curious to see which one would win in a race so I tried really hard to follow a strict set of rules for both of these builds I'm going to be following the instruction manual for the Lego set just so that I can make it as close as possible unfortunately Lego is slightly shorter than Minecraft so it doesn't exactly translate block for block like you would imagine nevertheless I'm still curious to see which one will be faster to make I having experienced both can tell you that I enjoyed playing with the Lego a lot more but that's probably because I play Lego a lot less than minecraft I haven't touched Lego since I was a young teenager so it is a little bit biased in that respect and I feel like I need to tell everyone now I build in Minecraft everyday pretty much but I haven't touched Lego in years so naturally I'm going to be a lot slower on the Lego however I did do a run-through with the Lego before I actually recorded so I actually practiced the Lego quite a bit before I did it just so I knew what books I was gonna need and how it fits together but I still followed the instructions on both of them so I still had to take a break look down and see what needed to go on next but I thought I would try and even out the disparity in skill as much as possible for this video to try and make it equal however as you will find out the results are quite staggeringly different so you may have noticed that the Lego is falling behind quite dramatically now and there's a very very simple reason for it when placing the same blocks in the Lego one I still have to move my hair grab the next one and place it down but with Minecraft you just have the same block in your hand and right click to continuously placing it so when there's a series of blocks that are successively placed it's way quicker to do that in Minecraft the difference is in Minecraft I would have to go into my inventory and select the block but once I have it that's it in my inventory ready to use so doing the roof now is so quick because I've just got to place it round but then Lego picks up the pace of it later when I start using bigger blocks which cover a whole lot more than the Minecraft one to does however the Minecraft is pretty much done at this point it's got the tree on the top and I did edit it I made sure to edit it so it's exactly like the Lego one because the default one that I spawned with a sapling wasn't quite right but there is a little bit more you have to add a bit of grass and a pen for the pig along with some flowers and some other little decorations but I think at this point we can safely say that the Minecraft one is going to win I haven't even started the roof yet on the Lego build I'm still faffing around with the walls because they have these l-shaped blocks they're so finicky to place and it's a lot harder to get all of those intricate little pieces to fit where they need to go compared to Minecraft which has basically just been finished now so it actually took the Minecraft one about 20 minutes to finish and the Lego one ended up taking about 40 minutes so it's twice as fast roughly to build it in Minecraft than in Lego however there's many points I want to say one this isn't a particularly fair test because like I said I build in Minecraft everyday if it was an inexperienced person building in Minecraft and someone who plays with Lego everyday the result may be closer or the other way around so I do want to put that little disclaimer in the other thing I want to point out is the Minecraft house doesn't look as good as the Lego one I'm just going to finish off the Lego build because who wants to see a half-finished time-lapse but I'm going to speed it up a lot more so that we can get on through it you can see that even with the trees you have to place a lot of blocks together to make it but in Minecraft all I had to do was spawn a sapling and edit it a little bit so all of those little things were time-consuming for the Lego and you had to put all these blocks upside down all the flipping that kind of thing it all takes time I genuinely believe though the main thing that took the most time with Lego wasn't exactly placing the blocks it's actually picking them up and moving your hands around a lot that time adds up a whole bunch all of my blocks were laid out on the desk however I still had to look and see which ones it were so let's compare the two obviously the Lego one looks a lot nicer and I believe that's mainly because it doesn't translate well into Minecraft if I was building a Minecraft build and then translated it into Lego again it would look different so that's it minecraft was significantly faster when I raced them against each other but I want to say a few things on top of what I've just been talking about one is I enjoyed the Lego building way more than the Minecraft one maybe it's just because I've been playing Minecraft for so long it was nice to have some physical activity involved but I just seriously enjoyed playing with the Lego especially as it was very nostalgic for me as I haven't touched it since I was a young teenager it wasn't a particularly fair experiment but I do believe that minecraft would be quicker in general and with that I want to say thank you very very much for watching everyone I hope you enjoyed this video I know it's a bit different if you have any more suggestions for cool videos leave them in the comment section down below and I'd love to hear your thoughts and feelings on this particular video thank you very much for watching goodbye
