julien's new stream room/office tour (2021)

oh hi wasn't expecting you welcome to my office three months ago i had the idea or one of you gave me the idea i honestly forget how it happened but we were like let's do an office tour and uh i was like yeah i'll do it soon and then three months pass and here we are uh and i honestly think that's a good thing because three months ago the office didn't look exactly how i wanted it to but i'm at a place right now where i'm pretty happy with it so i'll show you some stuff so since you've last seen this room uh it's probably changed a lot and i know you see it on stream you see like this angle right so you have like a little 16x9 of what the stream room looks like but since you've actually seen me vlog or film outside of that camera angle in this room it looks a lot different than the last time you probably remember there used to be a desk right there this couch you've seen this couch but uh yeah this whole side of the room was basically a big project that i wanted to turn into a vibey happy office space and move away from like a gamer den which is kind of what it was it was also not even that cool it was just like i had this giant industrial kind of like home depot shelf with all my camera [ __ ] just like thrown on there and there was really no reason for it other than laziness so that was number one i needed to get that out and i kind of replaced it with what i like to call the vibe wall [Music] the idea was to make this just like happy and light and not kind of suffocating like i felt like it might have been before um anyway over here we have some snake plants we have a dracaena masangina this little tree guy with the trunks he's a thick boy and right here this is probably my favorite plant i own this is my rafitifora tetrasperma who is growing a ton he won't chill out he's got some nice beautiful new leaves he's he's baby but he's growing fast uh and right behind him you can't miss it this is my neon light and my twitch mods surprised me with it was a secret present now i have the coolest neon light of all time it has our logo our twitch logo on and i have it on at all times so you can see in the background of the stream and i love it and i think it looks great with the plants right here i got my little moist meter so i can check my plants with this guy and moving on over we have a monstera that's doing its best we have a beautiful big leaf right here this is the show leaf this is the basement stepbrother leaf who doesn't get to see the light of day he he stays down there don't look at him uh up here i have a hoya crinkle eight cutting that i'm trying to slowly grow get out of the way and right here on the wall i have my hoya pubic helix which is uh actually just decided to go wherever it wants it's kind of hanging out by the mirror it's going this way it's going that way it's going all over the place right here we have a good friend turl he is the stream mascot and sometimes he likes to get pet so good boy turtle right here i got an actual hoya crinkle eight this is a new plant i just got i wasn't able to find this before but i found it recently and i jumped on it not literally it would have probably destroyed the whole thing but i got this as soon as i saw it over here we have little baby monsteras little actual babies so these aren't uh the same ones there as the ones over there these are monstera and sonia and they're really cool they look like swiss cheese and this actually is a brand new leaf that just opened up so super exciting and then back here is my newest addition to the plant collection this is a chafflera arboricola i think i pronounced that right this is also known as a dwarf umbrella tree and i think it just looks so good in the space just kind of like fills out that back area and it loves the light it's getting which brings me to the lights i just recently installed and mounted these lights these are dedicated plant grow lights they're more official they're more a little bit more expensive than my previous lighting situation but it was what i needed because my last light was just this like shitty lamp that was just kind of sitting there and now these are floating and it looks nice and they give all my plants all the light they need there is no giving this plant enough light because it is always sad anyway so yeah this guy is lighting all my new babies right here which is making me really happy right here i got a little bit of like a kind of a display thing this is a dracena kenzie kansi kansey kansas it's actually probably going to grow out of this spot soon but it's a nice holding spot for it then i got a little globe little lens action aries candle little sebastian of course uh this battery is dying i need a new battery for this guy but you can't even really see it on stream it's more of just like a little i don't know vibe piece for up here got a little guy up here too he's uh he's a little bit neglected doesn't have a lot of light going towards his way but he's doing fine i keep my laptop up here it's solar powered so it charges from the sun call it right here i have my watering tin and i actually put on display marble hey i'm filming a video here my guy this is a gift from a friend will he made a little scrapbook of all of these cool moments of us making aries kitchen live together this is a fun little memory book that he made so i keep it up here because i really like this thing also i don't know if you notice there's two little baby snake plants up top those guys are uh super neglected barely get any light but they don't need very much light and they're okay and i don't mind that they're not growing also speaking of light these three lights are on a timer so usually while i stream at night you won't see them on uh sometimes if i do a day stream you'll see them on and then you'll see them turn off automatically because they're on timers you know they respect my work schedule all right moving on over to the couch this is the horse's spot she likes to sit here slash on the floor slash pacing back and forth the room while i stream but she loves it in here this has become one of her favorite rooms in the house so the right spot oh yeah i bought this couch thinking it was going to be a cool spot for all my friends and guests to hang out and then 2020 and also bunny claimed the couch for herself so who really cares and uh oh what's that you use the bathroom come on in here super super vibey in here that's me right over here we have you know your necessities got some lotion got some plant food some wipes oh and my friend tar he is my guinea pig for when i want to practice tattooing and the sink i actually just put this up this is a wood cut of my old skull logo from my dude crocodile jackson he made this for me as a present and i decided to try putting it up here and i thought it looked so cool like as a bathroom piece i feel like bathroom art is underrated and that kind of just fit um i got a little spider plant a little dracaena up here and uh he's vibing there's a lot of natural light in this room so he gets good enough light and this is actually not where i shower but it's usually where i shower the plants it's kind of easy i just bring them in here and get them nice and wet and finally we have my uh battle station for stream this probably looks really different from the last time you saw it at this angle the most prominent piece that i changed is the soundproofing that i've done to this room these are acoustic panels and it is how i decided to treat this room for the sound for a number of reasons one aesthetics it looks so much nicer and it feels so much nicer than those dark square foam pads that i had all over the wall before i felt like this was sort of like a graduation from that and it does you know it makes the room feel happy and light and open which i love but actually believe it or not that's not the main reason why i got them i got them because i switched over to a shotgun microphone a lot of people a lot of people ask me about this on stream because they don't see a mic in the shot like they used to like i'm not holding the mic arm and talking into a studio mic on frame this is invisible to stream it's right above the frame of my screen shot here in order to make a shock on my work you really have to be careful and um kind of calculated with how you how you place it in the room and what the room looks like as far as sound treatment these have been a game changer they make it so it almost sounds like a library in here it's very nice sound treated i even have a floating cloud panel up there which i mounted myself and i'm proud of that did it first try baby zero desk hard mode so that is my audio setup a lot of people ask me about that that is what this looks like this is a sennheiser uh this is the doggie drawer that every single stream people want to know what's in my drawer and i just slide it on out let them peek on the stream and then back into the desk they go also one thing that i haven't really showed a ton of on stream which i'm so excited to like show off because it's the most extra thing in the world is my audio setup so my mic is being fed to the dbx and powered by it that goes to my apollo and then that goes to something else that feeds to my stream pc so i get my favorite processing this actually is the same preamp that i used for the genitalian podcast we had that going and it made our voices sound great and i loved it so much and then i finally figured out a way to make it work in the stream which leads me over here to my stream pc listen to the stream pc please listen be quiet okay be really quiet this is a quiet case and i built it to make the mic happy because the mic will pick up anything it's a shotgun mic so we had to make this pc nice and quiet uh and it's even a quiet case but it has all the components to keep the noise down this is my stream pc this is my game pc it looks a lot cooler when it's on slash in the dark with all those rgb lights going on and back here you can sort of see it but i have my ps5 that helps me cry when i play the last of us there's no beauty shot for that you've seen the ps5 enough who cares one thing about this desk if you if you've watched stream you'll know this but um sometimes it likes to stand up with me come on hurry up hurry up and i'm proud to say that everything's perfectly cable managed underneath and behind the desk to where nothing breaks or rips out of its socket or anything like that it's all nice nice and tidy which took a lot of work but it's worth it i got my logitech tko 915 keyboard i got my g502 lightspeed wireless mouse both of these i love got my asus monitor asus monitor i got a little charging pad for my phone that's where i keep my phone on stream i'll just keep it right there bam right here i have my backup power supply in case the power goes out which is powering everything is plugged into this pretty much my lovely lovely chair i have a little foot rest underneath my desk for when i'm just slouching and shrimping it up the footrest also serves as a proper footrest if i'm hanging out on the couch or not streaming whatever over here this is my uh whiteboard schedule this is where i schedule all my work and streams and everything that goes on in here the among us roster that you've seen many times this is the last lobby we did over here this is where um i just kind of plan on my month and these are cool little magnetic markers right here i have a floating um pen holder made by the nick offerman wood shop which i bought at a live show of nick offerman's like years and years ago and i love it it's one of my favorite things i have i also have a hotel keychain from one of my favorite lawyers out there i got my twitch light i got my ipad stand where it charges and i kind of cable manage nicely to where it feels like it's not in the way this is where my studio is at right now this is where my office is at this is my nice fake cowhide chair and sometimes if i'm a naughty boy stream puts me in time out and i have to sit here with turtle [Music] well that's my stream room hope you enjoyed the little
