yes everything has been said about my next guests over and over and over she's the only person I know named Judy Garland oh yeah you sure you know who I am why do you think I kissed you twice yes and thank you for the flowers that's alright you gave them to me you gave me a whole bunch of the rash that yes I cut those this morning from my little window box did you go nice to meet you it's nice to meet you I'm a great fan of yours I can't understand that I'll tell you all about it it's because now come on I wouldn't understand it don't be ridiculous there are certain people in the industry who are so big as we say that you can't imagine them watching you I mean I can't imagine you or Bob Hope sitting in front of a TV screen and seeing my Animax without hope watching you because I thought it would be jealous of your human oh and doubtedly everybody else yeah he's very jealous I mean he keeps having to go to Vietnam to get even when there isn't a war just to get away from the house maybe the crowd goes you know and and does his show and all of a sudden is a war and there wasn't one there before I hadn't noticed that it was in that order but it's an interesting theory well you know your fans sometimes are so enthusiastic that when one goes to see you one can know when one what would not have kept on you when a person goes to see you it's almost hard to hear you sometimes because your friends just won't let you finish a song that's because they sing better than I don't know what it is now do you mean what did what do you mean dick I don't know what are we talking about I was thinking why don't we go back it's open right are the flowers and I'll come on and yet that was the best entrance anyone has made on the show we you should have seen me dressing upstairs upstairs problem was did you ever hear of a man named Owen megive me no you're much too young everybody's much too young except even you're much too young for me was did nothing but change clothes he didn't he wasn't witty running he was invulnerable those days you know would come on anymore not putting more off in the lens and come out in a whole new outfit in two seconds and everybody thought it was pretty good and I was like Owen megive knee upstairs I had odd and very strange but I don't mean strange nice people but strangers working on my terror and makeup and if I came out looking well it's simply because of my good spirit I don't think I could have said that better myself I have no kidding yeah I don't think strange people do handle you when you're on the show like this it's an odd feeling to go from Studio to studio especially for a lady and suddenly those people descend on you and they start doing things and and you haven't met them and there isn't time to to get acquainted you know and so to say well it's nice to see you again because first place you haven't seen them before and then all goodness is is all right come on you're on in four seconds and you've just gotten into the studio and you don't know who you're working with or what songs are going to be amplitude bloody well do it and I don't know why really are you beginning to question the reason for all this foofaraw in showbiz showbiz yeah and the VIS the bed I think it's hideous except for the audience's I like them but I don't like all the oh well junk that goes with and blood-stained runners and separate the artist from the audience would you know about that you all know about that maybe you're out there I don't you know that wonder myself listen when we come back I have you can stay away darling damn good question because I always say we're going away but we don't we stay right here oh well let's see if we go away when I snap my fingers the queen of the comeback I'm getting tired of coming back I read em I can't even go into a restaurant and have to go to the powder room without making a comeback well you'll make another one about six minutes from now too because we'll have another break then and we'll have another comeback then we'll go away and not have been any I haven't had a good break for a long time yeah coffee by its coffee breaks you scratch them with juicy fruit we stretch them with anything we can get I have some how does it feel to be a legend at this moment rotten Louisville with me I'm so seldom asked well I notice people are so afraid of you they don't you know they don't they're there and how does it feel to be a living Statue of Liberty very very gratifying and I find that when a kid like yourself comes along and shows a little promise it's a pleasure to be able to give you a break I know that a lot of important people are watching this show I can throw up four men got my black dress on I've got my hat just in case anything like that might happen Oh what else have you got we'll say for yourself you started something about a coffee break see I have so I never offer my guests my coffee and my SMX my tap water you close your glove done and they said we couldn't get her to sing on the show that's it that's not only it it's all we can afford so I don't know what those curtains after the television series I did which unfortunately is buried somewhere in Newark why I don't know all 2600 we didn't have those kind of classy curtains and so you've got a little more money than we all think well listen those curtains are gonna be available shortly Hey look at it well they're marked down because we're closing out in a man well when are you coming back not to bring a private made so penny come back so I don't really know the copycat yeah I took your material up yeah you unknown songwriters they must come to you with manuscripts clutched under their arms and in their sweaty palms unknown sunrise unknown songwriters and want you to do their numbers all the time this must have gone on for years and years what do you do about that well first of all well everyone who sings has people send them songs you know that they write first thing you do is make sure that you send them back after you read them overseas because they'll sue the Dickens out of you if you don't get back here I've got to tell you there was someone marvelous man called Peter a follow em fo ll o follow and he was rounded rich evidently because he sent me this was years ago just after we had lost the war completely in Pearl Harbor was just bombed out and we were you know desperate in 41 this was I don't remember either dad or the Civil War what went out of but anyway Peter I follow sent me a group of his amateur songs but then it was leather-bound and beautifully copied and they were just terrible terrible terrible saws look at they were David the worst song so I had to keep them even if he sued me he wrote one song now mind you you know we but Pearl Harbor lit up they weren't kidding you know and and then I think was it mr. Kyser and Hildegard had to get a lot of ships builds quickly so that we could defend ourselves in the meantime Peter a follow sent me these songs and the first one was caught it was kind of a peppy song called you lousy chippie chippie Japs I'm sure he meant it well but it was kind of a frisky little member I think of his Japanese poking fun at our yellow enemies no yeah I was the way they talked during the war remember the posters that showed the Japanese as rats with no teeth no I mean that was Peter hey just frenzy a few jobs you lousy big rats that's nice I couldn't remember that was on the hit parade that's really terrible it did what it didn't inspire Chanel oh yeah mr. Fowler was an enemy a little but he also wrote a song for everybody to join a mobilization song and he didn't like rhyming he wrote words and lyrics and it went about Uncle Sam is trying to build an army Uncle Sam is going to build a navy and if you'd care to come upon a Star Wars if you do we'll punch you on your George certainly surprise you and will knock you top you and the sand day is going be back but we're talking p.m. and the great what though is called the great day Emin the small starts about Louie behavior was dominating figure in those days it was a dominating thinking yeah he was a very good movie my captions and all that then mr. Mayer was a he was always really quite quite nice first airing very nice to me accepted he can idyllic terrible so a terrible story this is the place and there wasn't there was just such an anxious producer by the name of Harry rats all right PF rook yes which made you stop and think anyway and I was I had to only been in Metro for about six months and they didn't know what to do with me because I was at that rotten age I had to be to were 18 there was no in between you know and so I just went to school a lot but and didn't learn a thing by the way except one day into the dining room head and we're just in there and congratulating mr. haire on the food sorry they obviously wanted to stay in good with mr. mayor means I already chilled it himself everyone as if he cooked it himself you did you know that's at the end of the story I don't know defeat it I'm sorry so both these mannerisms no there was no there were about seven men in there and they were all trying to sort of get in stay and good or stay with mr. mayor and I didn't I was I was twelve or thirteen was oh it's just giving chicken broth not a noodle and because I had baby fat everybody can have baby fat that's not necessarily at the you know a criminal offense but you know I said what I ordered Irina's I'd get this rotten chicken and even in mr. mayor's private very private I'm a hairy rat we're sitting here and it had the most astounding Narrows because it was very activity at it what ready / - yes came back together I'm getting my soup nobody quite new to my ended and they were all eating wrong man is the gentleman you know so here have have some of this and that and five passing me is we're trying to get know how anyway Harry rap was perspiring I've suppose he was going to be fired Zelly and the apple pie and my eyes bugged out and and they're all just more eating and I thought what here you know I've even been in a movie nobody's pregnant Esther and Harry Brad finally broke this silence by saying for this mouthful of apple pie my goodness mr. mayor this is the best piece of apple pie I've ever had in my whole mouth and most immediate I was never asked back it's a great story my whole mouth we had you know leave Marvin don't you yes I did he'll be here in a minute it may be between us will coax you to sing but I don't want to say that cuz I know we weren't supposed to we'll be back after this message countdown and you cut it backwards well that's what comes from ignorance do you suppose you suppose that between mr. Marvin madam Kaminsky Larry Hank my probing we would got you to urge you to sing something even the cash I think I probably would have died if you hadn't asked how did you get that mic in your pocket handed it to me like with my eyesight oh dear heaven now this is a dirty moment but of course you are yes obviously the audience doesn't want you to but we do that burst of applause yes oh wait no don't do it again we know that it's a new song which is an innovation for me because I've been singing cavalcade for years but there's a as a marvelous song writer by the name of of Johnny Meyers who wrote I think I love they saw and I might as well I might as well crack my way through it if it's all right give it a crack okay god bless Johnny and God bless me God help me fine the love I hope can be Oh God if you can what happened you are let me fall so give me whatever it takes and let me make only time mistake hell not leave and God if you I promise I asked another Singh Oh
