father's day with us this month in the month of june we want to see you here at father's with your families we have something specially planned for you and also parents we are planning a soft opening for lw kids the date is not announced yet but we will have more details on when the opening will happen so be ready for that we are so excited to see your lw kids back but it's going to take some time and take some steps to get everything prepared just for them for those of you here in the sanctuary and for those of you watching we want to let you know that we are open in person for thursdays and 7 30 p.m services and sundays at 10 30 a.m services remember you can also watch us on facebook youtube vimeo and our website we are lw remember to share those with your friends and family who want to offering amen just like the song says nothing else and then nothing else matters amen and how many you know that's a sign of surrender amen and when we surrender to the lord he's able to take us to a whole other level not only in our worship not only in our time but also in our giving amen so so we're asking you right now as we get ready to pick up our tithes in our offering surrender in your giving just like nothing else matters amen that's saying god i put you first i put you first before money i put you first before relationships i put you first before anything else in my life amen so tonight if you need a tithing envelope an offering envelope just by the lifting up of your hands one of our ushers will be more than glad to get one to you keep your hands lifted up high those watching amen you there's a link there you can just click the link or you can text the word give to 83394 amen and so as we do that i want to read a portion of scripture in deuteronomy or some people call it do the robbery amen if you're not tithing you do the robbery amen do the deuteronomy chapter 14 verse 22 and 23 it reads like this you must tithe all of your crops every year bring this tithe to eat before the lord your god at the place he held he shall choose as his sanctuary it says this applies to your ties of grain new wine olive oil and first born of your flocks and your herds but then it goes on and it says the purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put god first in your life so it kind of explains it and the reason why i sing crops and olive oil because back then in the old testament that's how they would do they would raise all this on the farm so basically he's saying uh give a 10 of your first fruit and that's what we do as we come together weekly either thursday or sunday 10 percent amen is 10 of any finances that you get coming in you take 10 you get a dollar it's 10 cents amen and don't say well that's not going to matter it's not the the amount that matters it's our obedience to the word of god amen and when we learn to be faithful in the little we're going to see how god is going to continue to provide for us but the scripture says the purpose of tithing and that word purpose means the reason for which something is done how many know there's a purpose behind our giving there's a purpose and here the scripture says the purpose of tithing in other words he's saying i'm telling you to do this for a reason he's asking us to give 10 percent give above our offering for a reason and then he goes on and he says of tithing is to teach to teach you always to put god first that word teach means to cause someone to learn or understand something by example or experience and how many know the only way to learn if god is faithful amen is to try him he says that a malachi try me now this day and so he's trying to teach us that he can provide for all of our needs but it's going to take something in our part it's something for us to learn and experience amen because you hear people say god is faithful but unless you experience it because you were taught you're not going to know you know that works for you but it doesn't work for me how many know the word of god works for everyone amen if you apply it and then it goes on and it says to teach you always to put god first in our life he doesn't say sometimes he says always amen and so the purpose of tithing again amen is to teach us always to put god first in our lives and we all know what first means before any other or before anything else god i'm going to give my tithe before that burrito hello somebody before that coffee in the morning amen at starbucks or mcdonald's wherever you get it amen i'm going to give my tithes before that before anything else amen so tonight we're going to pray amen and we're going to ask god to bless our tithes bless our offering and maybe you don't have tonight amen we're going to pray that god will open doors for you to get financial but when he gives you the finances make sure you give a 10 and if you're already given a ten percent learn to give above which is offering amen or you got quiet in here huh look at you look at your neighbor and tell them offering how many know what offering this remember in the world when they pass the hat around that was an offering some of you put your whole check and that's where you got in trouble when you got home amen we're not asking for your whole check we're asking for 10 that we can be faithful unto the lord amen so pray with me tonight amen father we thank you lord first of all god for everything you provided for us and what you're going to continue to provide for us father we pray lord that you bless our tithes you bless our offering for the furtherance of your gospel lord bless the giver god that we can continue god to reach teach mend and send god there's a mandate you have given us god and lord we ask you right now in your son's precious name and everyone said amen now man even brother phil we go we go i've known phil for like about 40 years amen i tell him once he gets over his shyness amen god's going to use him he had a lot more hair and i was a lot thinner way back then amen god's god's still good amen you have your bibles in the book of john chapter 14. i want to welcome those who've tuned in tonight and watching us on youtube and the other formats that we have facebook or whatnot amen god is good and we thank you for tuning in and man i know there's a lot of your programs on tonight and stuff but you know if you just stick it out with us and just get let god speak to you tonight i believe god has a word for you amen john chapter 14 and it reads this in verse 27 it says peace i leave with you my peace i give unto you not as the world gives i give it unto you let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid let's pray father we thank you lord for this opportunity to gather tonight father lord father for the the people who are here the people who are watching i pray dear god that you would just minister your word father lord your word is anointed and father i pray lord that you would anoint me to deliver that word lord father i pray that hearts are receptive tonight and those who do not know you lord god would give you the opportunity to show them how much you love them i pray this lord in your son's name giving you the glory the praise and all honor amen tonight i titled this message waging peace we've heard the term waging war and the old the old term that without war there is no peace you know we are we are peaceful with countries but a lot of that was through the process of war amen they just didn't want to be nice all of a sudden they had to come under submission and the authority of the the united states after being defeated in war but throughout mankind what takes place is oftentimes is religious leaders there's seminars there's books all dealing with peace one of the one of the number one topics searched in 2019 18 and 19 was how to find inner peace when jesus speaks here where he's saying look i give you the peace not as the world gives and tonight we're going to break that down a little on what exactly does that mean and we see that contrary to modern thought that peace is a fairly violent word it is a violent word in the sense that that in the greek it is transferred it means that to obtain quietness by removing what causes chaos the hebrew definition speaks of the word peace not merely as a state of mind but it means to destroy and remove chaos and arche all around you so based on this understanding when jesus said peace be with you he was not simply greeting his disciples he was issuing a command to the chaos and the anarchy in their lives you and i are familiar i could i could pan the crowd here and i could look around and i could see the faces of individuals that you had a hard time you had a hard life [Music] and when god came into your life god turned all that around turned it all around removed it basically what he was saying was it's made the chaos and anarchy that are trying to keep you from doing what god wants you to do and he wanted to remove it from your life remove it see before jesus we didn't have rest we didn't have peace in our souls we didn't have that we we were restless how many here can agree amen you your your mind was going a hundred miles an hour man and a lot of it had to do with the stuff you ingested and the stuff you smoked amen but a lot of it had to do with your person that your individual self you were not at peace because we didn't understand it we didn't know peace so when he says i give you peace not as the world because we all knew how to obtain peace from the world you get those little friends xanax bring it down valium all these things that take the edge off that you think that you need and god says i got something better i got something that that you don't need to you don't need a prescription for amen you don't need a prescription you need a prescription some of you got that because it's so easy just to you know what just just a little glass of water and just what just you know 0.5 milligrams and we feel that's what we need and we get we get used to that and when that's not there when it when the edge starts to wear off and when you start to bottom out and you and you know what you're you're starting to hit the ground again and then you feel like you have to do that again and again and again so he essentially was saying is made the chaos and anarchy that is trying to keep you from doing the will of god let it be removed see one of the things is that peace is a passive word peace is a passive word the peace of god has the strength to root up and demolish every single work of the enemy of the darkness that surrounds you and it's meant to keep god's kingdom from advancing see these are the obstacles these are the assignments that the enemy has towards you to keep you from reaching that destiny and you ever to you ever say to yourself man my day was going so good if it wasn't for that person right there man i will i almost made it all the way to dinner man but man just you know what we call those individuals sand paper [Music] because that individual is there for the purpose of rubbing you out getting all those rough edges because we all come that way some of us are still there some of us still have in advance some of us are still at that point where you're still bothered with everything [Music] we still don't understand what god is trying to do and you think everything is against you man i you know what today i'm not gonna let them get to me today i'm gonna man you know what god i'm just gonna you know what god in fact you know what i hope they drop them off five blocks away from me i i you know what and you're having a great day yes sir see we laugh because it's true right we all know an individual that lights up a room when they leave man we got family you remember when they loved you when you were at your way they loved you when you were like at the bottom they loved you and you were drunk because you were you you must you may have been a happy drunk you know there's all that and that's why they call alcohol spirits because every time somebody consumes you don't know what spirit's coming out [Music] you got that crying spirit i loved her she broke my heart then you got that obnoxious one that arrogant one and the hospital waiting room is so full of those brave ones yeah how many how many you ever no no never mind so the word peace is a passive word but it's meant to destroy chaos and anarchy when you look at the names of jesus in the bible there's over 50 names of jesus in the bible the one i love is jehovah shalom peace the prince of peace see when jesus comes into your heart man he just gives you that peace sometimes the people around you will not understand you they won't understand why is it because i know that that individual has chaos going on in their life right now but they have a peace and they don't understand it they think that man you should be having a breakdown you know like hey man you know what i you might not you know hey but take some of these because it's going to help you it's going to help you sleep and you say to yourself no i don't need that i don't need that i got the peace that the bible speaks of that it surpasses all understanding you can't explain it you can't you can't you know you unless you know who's giving you that peace you cannot give them a full understanding of it and they will never understand it themselves until they accept that peace so the first thing i want to bring out is peace and relationships see how do we go about building peace in our lives peace like the authority is not a spiritual gift that we were born with it is something we experience and carry more and more further into the venture of god's heart in other words the closer that we draw to jesus that the closer that we come into the presence of god is when we will experience that peace we all have those moments when we get so busy in our day in all the things that we need to do that we forget to spend a little time with jesus amen how many here can testify that when you have that alone time with god that you feel it and you feel the peace of god you feel that man and you know you what you're doing that morning is just saying you know what lord armor me up i'm gonna go out there today and i'm gonna do i'm gonna do the best i'm gonna give you my best i'm gonna do the best that i can i'm gonna i'm gonna have the joy of the lord the devil is not going to steal it destroy it he's not going to you know wipe me out but i'm going to do my best it is when you take that stand that the enemy hates yes sir you become a target i tell people i tell young men i said you're going to serve god stay in the crosshairs of the enemy stay in his crosshairs across harris is when you see that sniper scope and you see the crosshairs you are in his size because when you're doing the will of god he is against you when you are doing the right thing when you are being obedient which is which is so hard for us because we come from a lifestyle where we don't we don't we're not brought up obedient amen we always did what they told us not to do amen and some of you were very good at it and you you you come into the lord and you have that different idea like okay i'm going to do it this way it always worked for me and it doesn't work we find that out and you know the good thing about our father is that he'll let us he'll say well you know what i'm trying to teach you man i put great leaders in front of you good directors your pastor has a word for you um and you take it you take it and you and you eat the chicken and you throw the bone you take what you want and you throw away the rest and some of us we get to the point where we become so hard-hitting how many were hardheads here look at that hardhead academy [Music] so we see the authority that is followed by peace see the more we get to know him the more peace we will have because we trust him and we know and we love him how many know it's hard to trust someone that you don't love and vice versa you can't love somebody that you don't trust and so when god says look i'll never leave you i'll never forsake you take that to the bank highlight it underline it and hold on to that god has a plan and a purpose for every individual here tonight those you who are watching the book purpose driven life sold over 30 million copies in several years what was the reason for that is because people are always looking for a purpose in their life they're always looking for direction they're always looking for to better themselves several years back they came up with a a new uh um book that was teaching people how to love themselves and i say this not against you know it you you want to love yourself you didn't love yourself amen you wouldn't dress up and you would you know you just let yourself go but there there's there's a there's a point where you love yourself so much that you become an idol you start idolizing yourself and you get to the point where you think everything is about you you're so vain that you think the sermon is about you [Music] and you get so sensitive you get so you get so uh you know combative in your spirit because you say you know what somebody told them about me man you know pastor didn't know that about me man but you know what he's hitting some some points that you know only a few people know and then you start eyeing them like you know the holy spirit reveals it to you to your leaders to your pastors and he brings it out and it's the holy spirit that will minister to you in the holy spirit that will convict you it is the holy spirit that will convince you and bring you to conviction it is the holy spirit that is doing the work don't always think that it's always man always against you all that they're done no look we want to see you thrive we want to see you achieve the goals that god has for you we want to see you come into the purpose that god has for you but there's things that we need to do in our lives to get to that point can i hear an amen amen the book of isaiah chapter 26 verse 3 turn there with me how many are with me so far so we're p we're speaking on peace isaiah 26 3. and it reads this it says you will keep in perfect peace those who minds are steadfast because they trust in you how many here can testify that you know what the more that you get opportunity to trust god the more at peace you are and see it's foreign to us because we're not used to that if you're like me you always figure if something good happening it's not too long before something bad's right behind it and we think that way and we start thinking negative and we start speaking negative and once we start speaking negative then we're you know what it's very soon when you throw it out there in the atmosphere see your faith will never advance farther than your testimony what are you speaking what are you what are you looking at yourself you need to look at yourselves the way god sees you the way god has said you know when you were you were perfectly made i formed you in the womb i love you you are the apple of my eye when you hear things like that you you you get a sense of a loving father and see for some of us that's a little difficult because we didn't have that other figure in our life and so when we see it and we feel it and experience it's kind of like awkward it's kind of like well you don't know how to act but sometimes you just say you know what father i just want to be obedient son an obedient daughter i just want to just know you i want to love you i want to i want everything that you have in store for me to bring it to pass isn't god good yes he is so good where's he said this he said real real contentment must come from within you and i cannot change or control the world around us but we can change and control the world within us we can't change things that are going on around us some of us have faced some very tough decisions some medical issues or family issues and we get reports of how the families and a lot of that comes in and we think that look if if if i just leave from where god has me and i do what i i think i can do that it will all work out the way we do that is we take it to prayer you know lord i can't control what's going on in my family i can't control the children man the teens how they act you know when the teenagers they get to that point now where we all got we were all there and now that you're a parent right how many how many ever heard that my mom always just tell me one day you're gonna be a father and you're gonna see you're gonna see everything my mom and my aunt they spoke to me i quote it now to my kids and they just laugh and i i don't catch myself but i look at my kids like hey man 30 days comes off me quick and they look at me like what does that mean i said well if you paid that payment right now in 29 days you're gonna have to make the same payment so be smart with your money you know in your teens and you get a little money and you want to do everything right the latest iphone this and that you know and then you got that that uh the louis vuitton wallet but you only got two dollars in it see the more authority we have the more peace we have and the more we will be able to speak peace to our circumstances see when jesus said to the storm in mark 3 39 peace be still what he was doing was speaking to the chaos that was going on in the disciples life you have the same authority to walk into a situation and say peace be still you could walk into an environment you could walk into a home into an establishment and just say peace be still shalom shalom when the priest would stand before the people and they would pronounce a blessing over the people they would call on jehovah jireh jehovah shalom baruch and they would speak that into the atmosphere so you and i have the same authority when we come into a place where we say you know what lord you go before me and peace be still that you have said in your word that i have that authority and the relationship that i've established with you and i'm honing in on it god we have that authority so when he says peace be still see life has life has been and is filled with every kind of storm there's emotional i mean how many before you came to the lord man you didn't know how to control your emotions and i was saying this to someone yesterday man it's good to cry it's good to come into the house of god man and you want to you know you know we have a man we sometimes we have a hard time with it you're like oh man you know you know you think you're going to suck that tear back up or something you know what your kids your children your grandchildren they need to see you cry it's okay real men cry real men cry jesus wept when he heard of the death of his friend and as men of god and women of god we could come and we could say you know what lord i come to you as i am i come to you lord with for i you know what i i don't have a whole lot too hard for you but my whole heart and when you do that i mean god begins to do that transformation in your life i love to see when god starts to transform an individual when you see somebody come in there they're hard man they give you those looks like i ain't sitting where you're telling me to sit come on and then god starts to chip away at that and then that one moment where you that one service where the worship team hits that one song and you it just it just breaks you on the inside man your lips start shivering and you and you're like there ain't no tissue around and you know it's gonna come down and you know it's just at that moment where you just say yes lord hallelujah god you touched me god we all have those moments and it's in those moments where god you are at your closest to god it's when you're saying you know lord i want to be in your presence i want to be in your presence god i want to feel you i want to hear you i want to hear your still voice it's when you have that type of desire to be close to god me and phil were talking about this the other day about enoch what was it that his relationship was so powerful that god took him because he desired to be in the presence of god the bible says he walked with the lord 300 years some of us have a hard time walking through 30 minutes see one of the things when jesus spoke on the sea of galilee the storm caused the disciples to fear for their lives jesus calmly and confidently stilled the storm see it's true with the storms that we're facing now at different periods in our life throughout our ministries throughout all the living words throughout around people will go through things various things sicknesses diagnosis loss of a loved one a child not going in the direction you want them to and when we call on jesus he informs us that we have the authority to speak to that stone speak to the storm see we don't understand that a lot of times because we figured like oh you know what i'm not at that place i'm not at that spiritual uh level in my life i'm a level one disciple i got you know you got to be a level five disciple you know bible says in hebrew that he's given us all an equal measure of faith it's how you activate it the most happiest people i've met are the people who had very little means but they had a strong strong relationship with god they had such a joy they didn't worry man they didn't have the iphone 11 they didn't have you know uh roku they didn't have all the fancy things that you know that we you know i'm blessed they didn't have all those things but they had communication they had love they they understood that god was their provider they understood that it was god that brings the joy i love when people send me pictures of churches around the world man and have just a piece of wood and just a platform and there's people in the in on sitting on bricks and sitting on on on uh what do you call those crates and whatnot they're having church someone sent me a picture of a whole church in the philippines where the water was up to their knees but they were all sitting there you know and we're getting to a point now in the churches where the where churches are feeling pressure to entertain the people bringing big names uh uh singers and and worship teams and whatnot you look at if all this is taken away we still have the sense to say you know what god i'll come to church anyway god i'll serve you anyway i mean we're blessed we're blessed to have the things that god has provided for us but when we take we take the small things for granted the people it's all about people we ain't taking none of this we ain't taking none of this to heaven amen the only thing we're able to take to heaven his people amen and i think it's our our opportunity to take as many people to heaven snatched from the the grips of the enemy and say you know what lord use me today to bring joy to somebody's life let me speak to somebody who needs to hear today's gospel see the one thing that we understand is that the ship was already taking on water and the disciples thought that they would be eaten by the sea see your ship might be taking on water today you might come in a place where you say you know lord i don't even know if i'm gonna make it through the week i'm gonna give it one more day can i tell you this if you continue to say that in your heart you know what lord i'm going to take it a day at a time i'm not going to worry about next week i'm not going to yesterday's behind me tomorrow man i'm not even there yet but lord i'm just going to keep my eyes on you and when i wake up i say you know lord today is the day that you have made let me rejoice in it let me let me speak your words take each day look at the saying is is that live what does it say it's going to come to me or not life is short live each day truth is you only have one life to live you've heard that truth is you only live once you only die once live each day live each day they you know what to say you know what lord let me be a blessing let me be a blessing to that one that that sam pay brother sandpaper sister sandpaper let me be a blessing to them and let that flow off of you you know sometimes we you know the enemy has us believing that that person doesn't like us and that the enemy's telling that person that we don't like them and they're telling the enemy's telling us that they don't like us and we don't even know why we won't say greed we don't even know none of these things but the enemy likes to to throw in little strife throw in a little uh discontentment where we start to like thinking we start thinking oh look it look it they're looking at me cross-sided over there check them out [Music] hear me when we walk in the light of our testimony or our faith never goes beyond our confession the word becomes real only when we can bring it to a reality see if you speak of your doubts fears and you destroy your faith jesus we understand is the prince of peace isaiah 9 6 and he came to bring us the gospel of peace no one does peace come on now nobody does peace the way jesus does nobody see we can speak peace be still and the waves in our lives will grow calm how many how many how many enjoy those moments enjoy them take them in you know it's amazing a lot of times if if you have uh if you're blessed to have a grandmother an elder a parent or they're still that man spend it spend talk to them don't text them call them hear their voice you you have no idea how much you'll make their day you know i'm around elders in their 90s and you know sometimes you see how how those that are that are closest to them take them for granted and they they don't appreciate them you know a lot of times we we don't appreciate until we lose and the truth is is that we just never thought we would lose and we still take things for granted so peace see with this in mind we can begin to understand how the peace of god makes us very dangerous in dark places in dark places where the enemy is working god's peace does not affect our lives alone we can carry it with us or wherever we go and impact the lives around us how many ever walked into a restaurant or into an establishment and you know people with little friends start to manifest around you and you could speak peace in that environment it's happened to me at the market at hospitals in elevators and you'd be surprised don't get all scared don't get all scared you know that's what the enemy wants you to be he wants you to be afraid of him but the authority that god has given you grants you the authority to speak them speak in that seat luke chapter 10 verse 5 says is that once you enter a house speak to the people there and say god's blessings of peace be upon this house pray over your home lord bless those that come in and bless those that leave let your peace be upon this house that's in luke chapter 10 verse 5. see wherever you walk into whatever it is a store or restaurant an establishment speak that before you go see god wants us to be at peace and not in pieces he wants us to be at rest but we can only be at rest when we allow god to be the lord of our life see there are some individuals who've yet to make that commitment to serve god at their fullest you're checking off the days man i only got man seven more days man on my calendar and according to the court i can go you've yet to experience that the fullness of god until you surrender fully to god so if you're here this morning or this morning this evening if you're here this evening and you say anthony you know what i don't know the lord i'm here but i'm not here i've been here several times i mean you know what you you could even be you know in one of our homes and you're just writing it out and you've yet to say you know what god be the lord of my life maybe you're a backslider and you say you know what i i've missed up so many times you know what the the good thing about god is his love is never ending his his his commitment to love you is greater than yours to serve him and you know you may have missed up and and you don't you know even want to try let me encourage you in this fully surrender to god if that's you here tonight and you're watching maybe on our one of our formats and you say anthony i want to rededicate my life to god raise up your hand i want to pray with you i'm backslidden i'm away from god and you know what you know what i'm i'm i'm hiding out i'm hiding out man i you know what and and there i know they're praying for me i know you know my parents you know they're they're praying for me you know earnestly but i'm not ready yet if you say that to yourself you'll never be ready the enemy will always give you a reason why you're not ready today i'm going to open up these altars for anyone who wants to receive the lord or who wants to rededicate their life and i'm also going to open up the altar to anyone here who said you know what anthony i'm i'm restless in my soul i don't have that peace i don't have that peace because i have yet to fully surrender to the peace of god i want to open up this altar tonight i want us all to stand as the worship team makes its way up when jesus said peace i leave with you my peace i give unto you not as the world gives the world they can only give you a temporary peace god's peace is eternal it is eternal as the worship team plays i want us to search our heart i know it's one of those it's one of those evenings where you just say you know what and there was some there were some spots there there were some points there that i'm going to receive but i could tell you in my 12 years i've had moments where i've you know what i've been here i've i've never left never took a vacation amen away from god but the peace that i spoke of had to deal with in here and that's the only way we will grow is that if we continue to bring before god that we check ourselves we do a self-examination say you know what lord search me search me if that's you here today i want to just open up these altars amen and you just settle it with god
