welcome to dyson look at the colors here the leaves have changed in in japan's west side it's a beautiful scene this is one of my favorite places in the entire country mount dyson it's a natural place that's off of the beaten track that i know that you'll love if you do come in this direction and maybe maybe some of you that are watching have been here can share some of your experience of coming to dysen now the easiest way to get here is to yonago airport or taking the sunrise izumo sleeper train from tokyo which departs at 10 pm it arrives here in yonago you can take a bus to get up here to the top or taxi it's not that far but this place the fact that it is off of the beaten path makes it super super special now up the mountain up here you have uh ogayama jinja i believe it's what it's called a 1 300 year old temple and shrine up here and uh dyson jin jin jingu is jinga jinja is also up there it's a mouthful so you can go up up to up the um up the steps here now this the roadway is so incredible and i'm gonna be bringing that to you in a completely different live live stream or in an upload on this channel in the next couple of days but i wanted to show you from here at the start this really beautiful natural area and this is where it kind of ends as soon as you get to where this car is rolling through there are restaurants shops markets and it has a really really different vibe than it did three four years ago because they've completely not completely but did a really good job of renovating it and we're gonna take a look at some of the street food and have a bite to eat and it's gonna be pretty awesome because all these colors so beautiful up here in the mountains hey andrew fort wayne's here you made it jeff yang you better believe i'm gonna put that towards the first thing jeff and gcn official hi john get yourself something yummy i see something on my radar because i passed it coming up here again just want to point out to everybody that i'm going to be going up here to film a non-live stream because the signal is not so strong walking up to the walking up to the uh shrine it's amazing i think it's something that everybody should do when they come here look at the colors wow aloha brenda it's really really nice here michael cesano i'm thinking the exact same thing but they have actually local local beer dyson g beater is the local craft beer here and it's so good so maybe we're gonna sneak into one of the shops to see if we can get something so sit back relax crack up in a beer if it's in the evening for you or get some oatmeal and breakfast in the morning maybe some pancakes settle in for the next 15 20 probably 30 minutes and do a little bit of mount dyson now this believe it or not is a national park this is the um dyson oco national park which i believe includes part of uh even all the way to yokohama sorry to to okayama and uh i i wanted to illustrate that the the the national parks have places that are like towns here that are as beautiful as this so when you walk around a national park you're not just walking around in the middle of a forest there's actually like towns that you can go to inside of the national park which are just stunning so this car apparently got lost let's let this car go by up here and i'm going to show you this in a second there's another angle that's really beautiful that is the peak of mount dyson do you see that and from a distance it's even more stunning but when we drove up here um we were going in elevation we came up several hundred meters get to the top i believe it's half the distance about a little bit less than half of the size of mount fuji but from a distance it kind of resembles mount fuji which is why they call mount dyson the mount fuji of the west because you know not fuji's in the east up here anyways oh this is there it is okay this is a kurimanju so we're gonna pick up some kurimanju do you see that stand right here on the left i love yatai street food i can smell it this sweet smell of baking dough with chestnut cream in the middle i'm so hungry great job eh [Music] and chestnuts so i'm going to get some of the and some of the on they have some done over there so the price is five of them for six dollars that's really really cheap i'm so hungry this is a great start and i'm gonna need some some coffee with this i think [Music] well they ordered 10 of them see they could your chest that's there i could tell me that i know thank you wow yakitate they're just done [Music] [Music] so he's here almost every day so if you do come here you're gonna get a chance to try one of these i'm gonna i'm gonna crack it open right now um the there's a butter jagger a guy who sells um potatoes with butter and i usually will get some of that when i come here as street food coming up now this place is very famous in the summer in june they have a natsu baraki oh they're so hot oh it is this is oh i cannot describe my my my love for these it's like basically a pancake around it this is basically a pancake around um fresh chestnut like paste all right i gotta take a tight deep take a bite just take a bite oh that is a chest not fresh chestnut paste in there it's sweet sweet just a little bit sweet but it's a pancake pretty much pancake around it you saw him being made just a little bit of a dollar for one that's a steal and i got four of them to eat for the rest of the day but don't worry we got a lot more question can you eat and walk in japan answer gray area street food is usually okay but just be careful not to spill it one of the reasons why people don't eat and walk one of them is because it makes a mess people drop the ice cream and um it makes a mess for everybody else so in japan typically you don't eat and walk or drink and walk you'll find some place like a bench and eat there and you see a lot of hikers people will be hiking all the way to the top dyson the hiking trail is still open but yesterday they had the first snow on mount dyson so it's getting cold up there oh that's so good i'm gonna stay sugared up you want more food click the like button because there's some right there this shop has just opened this is a dongle shop from a company in yonago um they've just opened in fact it was under construction and this building here is mont bell which is a dude no way no way i haven't seen you forever hello what are you doing here what are you doing here i'm here i'm here streaming at dyson for the national parks thing oh yeah hmm nice pocket is like one of my favorite prefectures though this is d newcomb yeah jko adventures knows this is dean hey guys are you here with anybody oh no just um just doing a little bit of shopping oh you're hiking and stuff yeah you look like you're in the hiking gear that's awesome what'd you get yeah let me show you this so dyson has the cleanest water maybe into the whole of japan so yeah they have great fruit so i got some really good local apples oh you know always a sucker for a healthy snack you know so luckily you're here because you know sharon's caring won't be you that's nice yeah not the world's most expensive but some of the world's best water is here and the apples and the produce here as a result of it and this being um you know a mountainous region with really lush soil fertile soil they have amazing uh meats and vegetables of course all right cool you know what i'm gonna be going to the end what are you doing you got any plans i got i got time mate you got time can i join you can i hang out dude that'd be great because it's a lot more fun when there's somebody else here i can't believe it i haven't seen you forever so what's what's your what's your video though well we're doing street food here so we can't eat those apples because you i didn't get on the street okay we're gonna come back let's have you had this these dongles here yet before i haven't no i in fact last time i was here i don't think this dango place was open oh no it's new i think oh yeah right this is uh this was under construction last time i did a street walk here a street view that means it's opening yeah this mont bell is brand new this was under construction last time i walked here as well like about two years ago i did a trendy mountain cafe live stream and this was under construction i had no idea they were building a mont belt which is like a patagonia kind of uh uh north face mont belle equivalent of that yeah yeah i i have north face here and inside montbell so i wear the stuff here um yeah yeah this is the main street the main mountain street dean um do you know where the path is to go up to dyson right is this way there is yeah um about one year ago i actually summoned dyson oh you did i did and all over here i think there's a little bridge and do you know about the pile of rocks yeah they take it to the tower yeah it's pretty interesting right so it's a conservation effort to rather than just walk up the hike up there and erode the top of the mountain we all take one rock back to the top and kind of rebuild the mountain as we go okay cool let's show that i think it's a really beautiful natural area we can see some of the leaves here a little bit better as well hey john kimura is in the house i will totally be bringing back kanai lots of gifts from here but i don't know if the kurimanju is going to make it i don't know we'll try to get some good stuff thank you john always john queen of tacos tip jeffrey street food you better believe it we got some word we got some dongo action coming up in about three to three minutes this oh it's closed dean this is where i got really good ice cream this is a um a little cafe that's kind of old this has been here as long as i can remember it's closed today and one thing to note is that the holidays for for this area is monday uh wednesday thursday so a lot of the shops will be closed but montbell which is the outfitter the story is that the ceo of montbell really has a fondness for mount dyson and he built his shop here in which is pretty much in the middle of the like a mountain town yeah it's in the national park and if you need gear you can get it here yeah you can get gear here and it's about the same price as everywhere else in montbell so i think that's pretty cool by the way manhole this is a mount dyson manhole cover by mont bell they've gone the distance when you make a commemorative oh this is for the birthday of mount dyson 1300 years so it's this this temple and the walkway i'll show you later in another another video is 1 300 years old like everything in japan there's a history to it wow you sure you're okay with time yeah absolutely yeah is this so yeah i'm cool i'm cool i just gotta see if i can find these rocks again check it out well i mean you don't get a much better day this is the most beautiful day of the fall that i've had it's been raining or um not so what night not so nice this is clear sky blue skies and and the sun makes it warmer yeah okay you can see here like dyson really does have some of the cleanest water this area actually santori has two water factories minami alps near mount fuji and the other one is up is right here at dyson where santori bottles its uh uh water the famous brand if you've ever come to japan you've seen this on tutti water bottles for sure oh dean's all the way up there oh they got him hey katayama's in the house get dino a good snack and drink from the mud team you got it dean they want to make sure that you're taken care of with food [Laughter] dean's going to need some food although i didn't climb dyson today so had i just submitted and come back down you'd be way hungrier yeah all right this is pretty neat let me show them this is pretty incredible from here i told you like on a day like this that's cr that's so clear you can see the entire bay and down there is yonago city and then sakaiminato after that right yeah and sakaminato all the way to mihonoseki which is on the other side there sakai minata which is called yokai town yokai are these mythical japanese hey truck height toby truck there's a mythical town a town with these uh yokai we're gonna go there maybe tonight and uh aishi mohashi japan's terrifying bridge is just over there as well obviously not not that tall because dyson makes it look so small it is really crowded on a beautiful day like this so this is the start of the trail actually if you want to go and climb the top there's a really well maintained trail it takes about it's nissan right about three hours yeah it's definitely an up and down in one day kind of mountain yeah it's about three hours quick up and down um if you want to take your time i think it's a good good to take your time do five hours and about two hours down good start early yeah yeah start early five hours up two hours down it's a good half day this is it right all right tell us what we're looking at here the last time i came here i was with the national park guide and so they explained this concept of conservation and um so let me let me get a little one so this is basically a big pile of stones yeah and uh this is the same rock as you'll find at the top of dyson as well right so the idea is that you take this from the bottom put it back on the top and then every visitor to dyson is doing their part in the conservation effort of the mountain and the last time i was here i think i picked up a fairly hearty rock i went in and grabbed something like that and stuck it in my backpack and then what i thought was quite funny is i picked one that was two or three times the size of that and i gave it to the director you can take that one you know but yeah it's nice isn't it yeah like i really like the idea that i'm i'm going back to the top and i'm contributing to to something you know and yeah so i guess they have to keep topping these stands back up as people i think so i i actually for nhk climbed mount dyson about five years ago you can still see that on demand nhk on demand um it's a pretty cool episode and i also took a big rock up there you did yeah and you can see this is what the summit of mount dyson looks like here take a stone to the top of the mountain i know it's like you're carrying rocks in your bag which means that the stones can protect the environment so erosion has brought a lot of the a lot of the stones down and they want to keep mount dyson it's still it's kind of growing because people really do take rocks up there yeah yeah look at this yeah so it helps maintain maintain the mountain so it doesn't erode it's a great idea yeah wow it's really crowded at the entrance of the trail this is the trailhead is just over there uh you have to hike maybe about a couple hundred meters right now you've got people just coming down right you've been up to the top oh yeah they look like hikers they got the ski poles used for hiking no problem yeah for those that are just joining us we're at mount dyson this is dyson cho the dyson town this is a national park one of the japan's wonderful national parks you can see here that the leaves have changed in fact i think a lot of them have fallen off up there huh we're just at the end of the autumn season and uh it's really beautiful the changing of the leaves i got to get my drone up there just ordered the mavic mini 2 in the car driving over here stopped when i got the announcement ordered it and said yes it's coming next week 200 gram 199 gram drone that that goes around the laws so you can fly it in and you hear about that [Music] oh yeah we probably could because it's so small you could probably fly the thing here coyo is the name of of autumn leaves the chaining of the leaves koyo k-o-u-y-o uh y-o-u right yo and uh this is one of the best times and the most popular time of being in japan really hotels are booked restaurants are full scenery is wonderful andrew fort wayne has noticed that eugene hellbert's here got the whole gang in here awesome hope the signal's coming in loud and clear big and clear i should say wow i come here every year okay all right take my you don't actually have to take a photo just that's all right just gonna jump in there hit it look at that background damn yeah there you go that's spectacular dude you said that to me on instagram we always get people who'll take a screenshot and send it by instagram good shot so this is the trailhead and the montbell is nearby so if you if you forgot some gear you can pick it up here um seriously the if you it is chilly up there even in the summer it can get a little chilly it's nice to have a light jacket it's about what seventeen hundred meters right mount fuji set three three thousand seven hundred and seventy six meters and i think um dyson is just under half 19 yeah 19. it's about it's about half the maybe a little bit more a little bit less i can't remember today is about you can't feel it because the sun's out but i think it's about 15 degrees at the moment uh ish and so it will be probably about ten or eight or something at the top right it'd be pretty chilly yeah after this um i'm going to be walking you want to join me on this i'm going to walk up to um right there on the map we can show you a little bit about the area we're going to get back into some streets and get some dango in a second here so we're here on the bridge right yeah we were near here uh we were this is the parking area where we picked up the rocks and you can see the trailhead goes this way up to the top um of mount dyson we're gonna walk down to the town and i'm gonna show you a really beautiful green area uh that i love lots in the winter there are tons of ski places as well but last year i don't think they've got a lot of snow in mount dyson yeah and i'm going to walk to oh oh what is it the shrine i keep forgetting i don't know daisenji is uh the other uh temple and then ogayama jinja i believe it was that's 300 years old did you hear that it snowed the first time on dyson yeah one of the locals told me last time but they said because it's so warm it probably melted yeah but for people watching in very hot countries right now that might be quite unbelievable yeah people in singapore are like wet snow it doesn't snow in singapore i don't think it does ever ever not well it might be man-made snow or snow cone you're back to back to the dangle yeah all right let's get some dango did you say dango this is so cool this is automatic watch ah didn't i it's empty uh it is another [Music] yeah it's like made from wood yeah watashi not stuffed okay but that's uh we're gonna get two of this sumi is like a charcoal wood so they have wood ice cream what that's so crazy so they're actually sold out of this dongle so these are sold out but they have a matcha which is green tea and we have here anko which is red bean paste on there uh this wasn't my thumbnail i actually had one before and they have cootie with chestnut yeah here dean take this do people know about paypal oh yeah no cash wow they're older this is the future oh well you don't want to show your your account okay i like what they've done here they've set up a payment station where the customer stands here and i've seen this more and more in japanese stores especially bakeries or places with really long lines they have a payment system and it's kind of neat here so you can either scan it or you put the coins in here and the bills in there and your change comes out and there's a little computer scanner as well to make sure that uh to confirm it yeah and you take your own receipt as well that comes out of there so it's kind of a um are you using paypay and then like you know money yeah i'm trying to take everything with that so you're trying to go cashless in japan which is almost not a thing in van but yeah it's happening slowly you know very convenient can you sing the song i can't get it out of my head [Music] yeah you don't have to use paper you can also use suica right yeah oh no she's getting the ice cream now okay i gotta go film her doing that i never had charcoaled ice cream [Music] ah bamboo so it's a burned bamboo like a volcano i like some charcoal bamboo there's like a pattern to it so you can also get some some local stuff here's some local ramen and they have some coffee so of course a lot of tourists come here so they they have some things that you could buy from the region [Music] wow is it healthy i don't know i just know that it looks really good i get i would imagine that because it's in japan it would have a little bit less sugar than yeah just take a look here this is hoki hoki is a town that i film another nhk show with they make amazake you can see the amazaki actually has bits of the rice in there amazaki is non-alcoholic usually it has very little or almost zero and it's um before the alcoholic process has started amazaki is something that you definitely have to try and it's usually kind of sweet again before the alcohol process has started so it's very healthy for you so there is some fermentation in there they get lots of goodies matcha green tea some tomato jam things like this that you can buy here all made from the local farmers here which i really like here's some dice and these uh um mountain vegetables packaged up awesome on rice yummy yeah i'm not waiting buddy no you started no way itadakimasu all right let's let's have it outside i think we could we could we can snag the um i got an idea oh yeah yeah i can put the camera right here how is it look at that i like you'll probably be able to get a better shot with the ball bearing really looks like tiny ball bearings oh it's starting to melt so fast check it on the other side look at that there you go yeah interesting have some sun in your face oh oh she does how's the view i can't see what maybe you come we can be smaller or i could turn this way it's kind of beautiful this way i know that from here you can see the street well you haven't changed at all you've done any any work any commercials or anything like that you know what mostly now it's my business cooking everybody else and uh and you know i'm getting old so not so much for me i did do a a uh motorbike oh recently yeah hurley on a big uh bmw and what else did i have a yamazaki a yamas kawasaki ninja kawasaki ninja yeah do you know much about bikes peter would be good wouldn't he yeah it was pretty cool yeah so i i model when i when i get asked to but otherwise i put forward younger handsome more handsome people dean's got a youtube channel as well um is this so runaway japan right runaway japan yeah and um these days i'm all do um i do little adventures but with my with my kid so i have i have a stepson called kg oh yeah we love kg kg was he on the show no he was in your show he's in yeah i've done a few bits and then you had him on your live stream doing uh like um nani stay at home yeah he was only actually when we had the the stadium i thought somebody put on my channel yeah not your broadcaster when we were doing stay at home we interviewed dean and talked a little bit about him and and kg was on the show too and kg is in his channel you'll be able to see his son his stepson is so cool he's a he's a natural talent being in front of the camera now um but dean and i we both do the show called journeys in japan and dean's done it like like three times more than me but i get to do tokyo eye so it's a so it's kind of a trick we're okay here but uh yeah i've done three journeys in japan in the uh tottori area and you can't you did one i've done i've done yeah one journeys in japan here and then i did one special um sponsored by the national parks of japan which was really cool so focused on this area around the dyson yama the mountain and then also do you know about um okinoshima the oaky islands yeah yeah yeah and so we went over there and i like kayak ah so in runaway yeah we're by kayak um i would advise to take the ferry it's a nice two-hour ferry or maybe quicker how long is it by kayak kayak was nine hours if anybody feels like a nine-hour um i was in a two-month kayak so yeah a nine-hour double kayak journey so so this um ice cream really doesn't have too much taste it's a slight slight burn but it's mostly kind of semi-sweet vanilla i think they just used the burned um take just for the coloring right i think it's just with the coloring and i'm sure a lot of people said it was like a carcinogen i'm sure that there's something in it that makes that's healthy um yeah it's it's tabi yasui isn't it it's very easy to eat it's not doesn't taste burned at all i think it's just for the color and by the way the color is used in a lot of stuff um to make it darker especially this charcoal gray and it might be because i guess it's like a volcanic look to it right kind of looks like volcanic soil do you walk and eat in japan is that something you um do you break the law break the code i feel like it's one of those very light laws right where you can do it and people wouldn't really say anything to you but i have heard that you know it's bad manners to do that even to the point that aren't you meant to get your drink from a vending machine and then neck it drink the whole thing and then just put it back in the bin next to the vending machine some people do that yeah well i don't so i'm guilty of that at least i'll buy a drink and then wander along the street drinking that's right yeah especially water yeah how do you well yeah and then but then also street foods are so fun to buy like you know a nice yakitori stick or something and then just wander along the festivals oh yeah so maybe maybe it's okay when you're in a festival and it's not okay street food i think is a it has to be a pass at like a festival because there's no place to sit and you you're hungry you eat it on a stick so there are exceptions to the law how do you know if it's wrong if there's an old lady staring really hard at you and you feel hot then you've broken the rules or doing that the ex people won't tell you so much oh speaking of which i do got you i have a present for you really yeah i like presents do you want to eat it now i'm actually pretty hungry so yeah okay go ahead take one they're still warm the reason why i want to give it to i want to give them now because it's still warm thank you these are uh cootie manju i i guess they saw it already but break it open break it open what is it how do we say this in english uh chestnut chestnut pancake pancake thing yeah wow boom yeah it is it's warm i'm gonna eat right from the middle it's so filling for that's the best dollar that you can spend damn that's gotta make people so hungry saying that right so you got that from the street from that guy up there hmm could you mind you guys i i just started the live stream up there so i'd we've been going for about 30 minutes how how expensive are these is it five for 600 yen it's pretty good right it's a good yeah it's good price yeah okay are you done with your ice cream no i'm not even full no i'm really picking out here okay i can walk oh really i'm going to chuck this then and put this away mask on yes i think that's not good all right hold on us yeah that's the way you do it look at that oh it's good man i am completely happy i have a thing with the crows they're not we're not friends but i can trick them by by being like them like a spy tell them not to come around here so this part of it of the um street is an onsen right here is a really nice onsen that you can go into now a lot of people will hike up to the trail at the end of it they'll come in here and re and rejuvenate their body by soaking in the thermal waters of dyson have you been in this one i i've been in this foot bath over here yeah so this is a foot bath that you can go into as i remember it's pretty interesting that they have like almost like a little hollowed-out room yeah it's actually no i did go in there one time it's kind of a new building but when they have the natsu baraki yeah when they have the natsu baraki which is uh the opening the summer festival with the torches we go in here and usually if i was doing something official for the city we we'd have a lunch and meet inside of there but the um the foot bath is also a place that you can go into for free just rest your feet after hiking all morning so i'm trying to live stream i told him stop crowing yeah you have to you have to you know crows respect aggressiveness back at them all right or you can either run away from them or you have to confront them all right that's my it's how i deal with them i'm not one to back down from a fight unless they there's a gang of them then you run away like the birds from hitchcock um this is this is a nice so you're gonna find a lot of these little uh family-run soba places but this one is really interesting if you look at the menu here this is a uh dyson so this actually says dyson uh okawa which is a uh plattered meal like this for 1300 yen the chicken here is amazing a lot of chicken farms and the eggs as well are so good that's a pretty good deal for it um now at the end of this most of the street food is up there at the corner i'm so i'm i'm a little bit sad that we couldn't get a dongle but i got a feeling that you might have something in here you have a surprise do you oh look at the colors on this tree right here with the blue skies this is stunning the nice thing about the streets the street goes all the way down to the bay right yeah beautiful that's right so if you look here from the street you can see all the way down to the you're walking down into the bay which is beautiful you can see it right but through those trees there um so dean really quickly i want to turn we're going to go go this direction really quickly i want to turn in here and i want to show everybody this um this place i went here uh i think it was like two and a half years ago i was live streaming here in 2018 i believe um this is called inakaya inaka meaning countryside and i just want to show you really quickly this cafe from the outside they had such good coffee and i think if you're coming coming down from a hike or you're just coming to visit for the day or if you're staying in the in the area and there's a there's a couple of really good yokan you gotta stop in here it's up for a cup of coffee it's just a really relaxing place uh old looking building and inside there um i showed you in another live stream you can check it out uh trendy mountain cafe of dyson like two years ago i don't think i could do a better job right now if i went in there but it gets pretty popular at the peak times just sit there sip ice cream and look out the window it's not abandoned who wrote that always say you ex character right yeah if it was abandoned that i'd still want to i'd pay double actually to go in there sleepless in las vegas new subscriber here just stumbled across your channel can't wait to make it to japan hopefully next year i think so i think i think at the end of spring springtime 2021 things will start to return that would be nice i'm very hopeful i will probably over i will my estimates are probably too too positive i want to go right i want to go back to the u.s for christmas and that's not gonna happen but are you gonna are you gonna be able to go home for christmas absolutely not and i've got a little baby as well you know and hasn't hasn't met grandma yet so oh right you just had a son born uh earlier this year yeah that's right oh congratulations he's uh he's like nine nine ten months nine ten months wow still in diapers and still in diapers and yeah hasn't met grandma even one time so all right i need i need this corona thing to finish up so we can go home he's gonna be a man by the time he gets down there so this is pretty much the end of the street and and we're getting close to the end of the live stream but i want to show you a couple of other things um there's a these are hoshigaki up here do you see these orange things uh they're persimmons that are drying in the sun and oh are they sweet and delicious and if you see these in the supermarket or some grandma selling it you better get like get a lot of them because you're going to be eating them they're like pure natural sugar oh are they i wonder do they sell some in there i guess it's that would be really cool probably not ready yet no that's um step away i can smell it that's fermenting um um japanese uh um oh gosh okay skip skip skip run away run away but this is this is a really good restaurant here i've eaten soba in there before as well i like the fact they made this vending machine look kind of wooden it is made of wood right yeah knock on wood i guess we can call that vending machine woody just named it woody the wind is picking up the wind is picking up a little bit this is another place i guess this is a hotel but i remember coming in here for coffee it was really good the sunset yeah itadaki this is the sunset cafe and i did an interview with you chan in the wider japanese live to be 106 years old episode i interviewed him right there right here there's a green area and when they have the natsubaraki festival in the beginning of june this is just full with with music that track is loud that by the way is the loudest truck in japan that could very well be the loudest truck in japan oh there it is um i i got it oh got me at ogamiyama ah right okay ogami yama so i'm gonna be going up to ogamiyama shrine right after this okay we're gonna film it as a strobe so let's cross this street over here yeah there's a terrace up there as well that you can sit down oh no i'm taking the green grass oh yeah that there's uh the national park center so inside there you there's some restrooms and you can take a break in there um it gets kind of crowded at peak times once again but it's nice this is kind of a new thing and i love what they've done this is the dyson history museum they got some good information inside of there as well about the area but it's all in the national park of japan and underneath mount dyson which you're seeing now coming in into the picture wow absolutely stunning hey ro tunner's here hey hey hey heard you found the yeti at the airport the other day i did i did it did a little shout out i remember that you're looking for one pedo everyone in the world please come to japan and no muramai thank you we're gonna have a little treat here i guess we can eat those apples right here so this green area is usually filled with um people during the festival in june that might be the best time where the cold winter uh is in the rearview mirror and everybody comes here to celebrate summer because summer here is pretty cool compared to tokyo's really hot muggy weather this is the best place to be and here they got all this street food right here as well as a stage where they have live performances and my friend mika is the emcee of it so she gets to do her thing and i get to do mine which is just eat up man yeah this might be the best place to chillax in the entire country you know i miss lawn and grass being from the uk really yeah you don't you don't find really you know big patches of grass like this very often right no it's it is really odd to not a lot of places to picnic not a lot of places to picnic um in tokyo anyways so what do you got here and by the way i didn't just meet dean we drove up here we kind of flew here together they knew that oh my god we're not that good of actors i want to know how many people actually how many people how many people bought that come on tell us i just randomly met him no nobody nobody bought that obviously i thought acting was fun testing right did you you're pretty good at acting i don't know chris chris hanson writes nope chris hanson writes something was suspicious was suspicious really kunai fell for it [Laughter] yeah no we kind of we kind of flew here this morning um and uh rented a car and drove up here and because dean is driving you got something for me yeah so we got one of these each there's your apple all right now i come from the old school where you don't have to wash your apples you just go like this yeah my dad used to use a dab right yeah people's fathers do this no young people don't do this anymore you rub your apple and then it cleans it and then you can eat it but i don't know the pesticide oh no way you found it look at that you found it no this is not what some people think it is this is dyson g beater this is the mont bell edition and that's dyson here on the top oh this is one of my favorite beers in japan but you can't have it because you're driving i'm driving so you can't have any but i didn't i didn't go uh empty-handed oh you got it you got yogurt drinking yogurt also um from dyson and there's a nice little illustration of the dyson mountain and the happy cows yeah dyson's got some really good um dairy products i remember i did a tv show here for the local tv channel and uh we we all we did was we ate our way around mount dyson i'm using my my gopro i don't do you have a bottle opener i don't have a bottle opener i can i think i can do this so who knows a really good way of opening a bottle without a bottle opener use your teeth i saw the guy in south africa he could use his eye his skull cap ouch he opened it up with his skull you can't do that dean do it with like you know like a lighter or something like that you have a lighter no oh yeah that's a really big help dean thanks a lot what you got you're really nice guy he's making random sounds i i have to have something in my camera bag what do you need like something sharp dude i'm on no not even sharp just do something hard hard like wood how about that vending machine woody maybe this this is kind of expensive though ah looks like i can get it but is this plastic or metal i'd say it's plastic isn't it you put marks in it i don't mind about that watching two guys try to open a beer without a bottle opener the internet speaks it's gonna do that no don't ruin it okay what else you got what else i got skull cap something like that a stick of wood metal plastic stick of plastic i have my dji can i can i use that yeah go ahead that'll work yeah that'll totally work but it'll put a mark in the end yeah that's that's okay yeah i think you're gonna you ready oh you did it hold on you ready this is like a volcano right here ready come on baby come on baby oh this is the copyright happening you didn't it's not even um exploding you find it oh you got it we would never leave them yeah don't don't litter we love our national parks john's pool tripod looks like a hamster got it thank you dji all right come by everybody out there um i hope that you have the same as weather is nice as ours look at this blue sky so you tell us a little bit about your experiences you've been to the national parks uh all over japan before right how's your apple by the way hold on the apple is good i i've got to say there isn't so far in my life there's been nowhere with better apples than japan and that that in the uk would be a big apple but in japan that's kind of just a very average sized apple right like sometimes they're huge so much so that they're more of a meal than a snack this is a fuji apple fuji fuji brand fuji brand is not from fuji but now fuji is actually from uh aomori it's um near hirosaki it's a town where it's most common that's confusing isn't it it is it's not from mount fuji it's actually uh like fujisaki and aomori yeah i've done them i've probably been in out of in and out of a few national parks in japan but um recently i was up at lake mashup in hokkaido akan national park really really beautiful area of japan very remote akan is up in hokkaido no hokkaido yeah yeah kind of right in middle east the middle east of japan uh the go to the top of japan get into hokkaido and then in the middle of hokkaido on the east side you'll find does that make any sense you'll find lake mashup so you've been to the middle east you could say that i was at i was at lake akan in february in what could be the most painful live stream in the history of this channel i was trapped in minus like 20 degree weather with a wind chill down to like -50 and every five seconds i had to hide behind a tree wow it was so cold i couldn't feel my hands it was a um and i knew i knew village they had there at mount akan at uh leica con that was the coldest i've ever been in my life and i would i would my nose i felt like it was on mount everest i was when i got back to the car i thought i'd have like black nose and stuff and some of you might have been there watching that live stream yeah um toto remembers that i would no i was just driving i went to um just driving i'm fine i was up and i was curious because like what is out in the center of here and who goes to the center of hokkaido in the middle of february nobody except for me then there's like some ice fishermen but i was in um uh rikubatsu you know ricobetza ricobetsu is considered the coldest town in japan it's um in the center of hokkaido temperatures down to minus 30 32 and canadians are going like this minus 32 that's the weather this morning in november yeah right but uh yeah and i was i went up to kitami for the yakiniku festival in minus 20 degree weather that's pretty incredible i think i live stream there hey andrew wayne are honey crisp apples popular in japan what do you know about honey crisp absolutely nothing you don't know honey crisp we don't know i'm guessing i know i've pretty much never seen that in japan before i can tell you dyson jibiru is very popular in dyson area it's really good something interesting about apples did you know people don't eat apples how i and you haven't eaten yours right how i am eating them right now no no japanese people will generally only apples cut up and served as like a snack in the home and they won't just be out and about because i mean for us it's the perfect wild snack right you just pull an apple out you bag on a walk and just that's how we eat it so i've been on set a lot of times in japan and pulled out an apple and been eating it like that and people look at me like you know some kind of wild barbarian because it just doesn't happen in japan so much wild dean yeah where's your motorcycle dean you gotta call me sammy dean you don't get it i don't got him dean and sammy really supernatural nothing really sorry didn't watch him no oh dean and sammy oh my gosh really it's one of my for the first few seasons were incredible uh shadow zach09 you was in my recommendation page well hey well if you're getting recommended you better watch it and you better subscribe click that like button if you want to see dean eat this eat the core of the apple we hit 1000 likes that nature boy dean will eat the core wait how many of the likes are you at like nine i'm pretty pissed down 6 28. we'll never get there because we have to end in a minute okay okay don't worry we'll never get to a thousand likes then it's agreed i'll eat the whole apple if you make that really the core and the seeds yeah everything nothing nothing ah i want to thank dean uh he invited me to come over here and we we're spending that's beer gassy that's beer it's not me it's a beer um we're gonna be uh going uh tonight i'm going to take you to yokai town which is a haunted area uh no kitaro is a anime series that's really kind of creepy uh manga series i'm we're gonna go there at night tonight so make sure you subscribe and click your click make sure you click the make sure the notifications if you're not getting the notification triumphs unsubscribing and subscribing again that seems to help for people who have subscribed for a long time the policies have changed and then tomorrow morning we're going to mihonoseki right yeah really really nice area of tottery yeah out on the coast um there's a little lighthouse there that we might see there's a shrine that we definitely will see and they've got a cool um performance type thing oh in the morning the taiko drums yeah another show i did on nhk we're gonna redo it on go thank you i also know yeah thank you nhk it's one of the most scenic little towns fishing towns that you'll ever be in um the manhole covers are really cool and there's not a lot of tourists there i know the owner of the mihokan which is the ryokan there i stayed there for a few nights and we got to know lovely guy uh very nice uh family and the lighthouse isn't too far away it's they got it they got some really good festivals but uh because a lot of people can't come to japan we're trying to take you to as many places including the national parks so i'm really thankful uh to have this chance to fly out here to tottori and share with you some places um after this dean and i are gonna walk up to um uh to the shrine and i'll put this online as a strobie later the cobblestones are 1300 years old and it's kind of hard to walk up there but it's a pretty cool scene and i guess with nature it's even better hold on i'm going to see how many likes 700 likes not close enough for dean to eat the core all right that's mount dyson behind us um it's best to start that climb in the morning but if you have some questions leave them in the comments before below um nausea broad thank you for the reminder by the way if you are a discord user a discord server we have a discord server we're looking for boosters and we could absolutely use your nitro boosts please we've got almost 10 000 people on our discord server and you can take the conversation on mount dyson and the dyson oku national park onto the discord server right now because after the live stream um i guess several hundred people will go there and talk about some things of japan people are sharing photos of their experiences in japan it's a really cool site um so discord i think that if you're watching the live stream live chat uh the link's been shared a couple of times thanks for that we could use your boosts as well live boosters uh keep the channel uh we keep the server purring um dean any last comments on national parks um maybe just that it's it's one of the most underrated places to go and visit when you come to japan i think it's it hasn't had as much coverage as it should have and honestly if i had my pick of where i would be on my days off it would be in a national park somewhere in advance yeah highly recommended and try and pick weather like this you can't get better in the fall this is the perfect this is such perfect it's nice and warm the evenings are cold in november but the but the afternoons are warm when the when the sun is out uh and we're getting some vitamin d which is good for the skin a little bit um thanks thanks so much for watching click that like button um dean you you don't have to eat the core this time but next time you might be on the hook should i keep it with me until the next video yeah keep it on you we'll pickle it it'll be in my pocket we'll pickle it that's right shadow zach09 uh thank you again and ryan k really really appreciate it i try to thank everybody who who's uh supporting the channel um young rj the gamer supernatural season 15. was it good all right you gotta watch supernatural cause there's a character named dean really yeah i'm i'm the dean right you're dean dude you kind of look like dean you actually look like sammy i want to be dean dean's a cool one oh yeah sort of um andrew fort wayne i slept in the snow on top of a mountain in southern germany whoa and i woke up buried in three three feet of snow whoa that's intense that is very very crazy i think i think i i got everybody here right uh rizzo reppin how long does it take to summit mount dyson about seven i think we said about five hours three hours if you go really quickly five hours is probably the norm and two hours down five hours would be long okay but i think you know actually three or four three or four hours five hours if you really take a break yeah it's not so high so like if you're an amateur and you don't do much hiking you can still get up there i had a friend that had no experience whatsoever and she got up and she went you know half halfway took a break took 15 minutes got it got it you know got air back inside her did another bit little by little she probably took it you know four and a half hours or something so you know when i when i but four and a half hours yeah you know i compare this sort of like to kilimanjaro which i climbed back in 2001 right before the the attacks in new york i was in i was up on the kilimanjaro i came down the day that that the twin towers came down and um i this sort of reminds me of it in the in the sense that you start off in the jungle and you go through different kinds of terrain as you go up there right and then when you get to the top of it it's like completely open and and even the vegetation is different you see so many different kinds of vegetation because you're going up to altitude now if kilimanjaro is on the extreme that's like six thousand five hundred meters high um the roof of africa but in a way i thought that this is kind of similar because you start off in like a jungle forest type of a situation mount fuji is completely different though yeah at the top they have that boardwalk do you remember that right yeah on dyson yeah and then from that that boardwalk boardwalk basically protects anybody from walking on the vegetation so it's allowed to grow so it's very um bushy isn't it it's there's no there's no big trees at the top it's all kind of you know one meter high-ish bushy bushy bushido all right folks have a good day have a good night wherever you are that's mount dyson we're in tottori for the next 24 hours i'm back to tokyo this weekend have a wonderful day see you tonight as we go to yokai town in sakaiminato ciao enjoy this parking lot for the next five seconds and don't forget to subscribe go to the new channel and the dean's channel runaway japan and i wish i had said shrubbery no it's two now
