Hello everyone! Konnichiwa! It’s
Moon from Japan Life Entertainment! And thank you very much for
coming back to our channel! So today, I am going to actually watch
“History of Japan” edited by Bill Wurtz. This video has been played over 60 millions since
it has been broadcasted like over 2 years ago, but I’ve never had a chance to watch it.
So I’m going to watch it today and see how it’s going to turn out! Ok, let’s hit it!! He is pretty famous and his
name is “Shotoku Taishi.” And he used to be a figure in Japanese 100 USD bill in
that time. Also there was a myth about him, he could listen to 10 different persons so that
he can argue back to people and he can have opinions. That’s pretty cool, I don’t think I can do that! Ok, anyway, let’s get back! “Oda Nobunaga” was very famous in the time of this era, because he was oactually wning
smaller territory than other Shoguns or samurais, but the reason why he got empowered so much
was that he was using guns. That was the highest technology in that time, using in the war because people were using swords, bows, and spears, it was very old time. But the guns have
long distance and it’s lethal weapon, that’s why he got empowered so much with smaller military.
And he was assassinated by his subordinate named, “Akechi Mitsuhide.” The place where
he died is still remaining in Kyoto. That’s another fun trip to go there too,
if you’re interested! Ok let’s get back! So “the battle of SEKIGAHARA”, the
conflict between Toyotomi and Tokugawa was very significant in Japanese history. Because after the battle, Tokugawa clan took over Toyotomi administration. And he built Edo period
that lasted over 300 years in Japanese history. During the period, the administration has built
so much things like traditional Japanese arts like “KABUKI”, in food culture,
“SUSHI”, poetry and everything that are still remaining today. That’s why
it is very important! Ok, let’s get back! Tokugawa administration was very strict,
like this video they closed the whole nation. And in that time, there were so
many members of Christians. And Tokugawa Administration didn’t
like that much, so trying to interrogate these members just like witch
hunting in Europe. The method they took was, they brought suspicious members to public, and
convinced them to step on Virgin Mary or Jesus Christ’s printing. And “Ok, step on it.” You
know if you’re true believers, you won’t do that. “No I can’t do that because
this is what I believe in!” So, “Ok, you’re Christians. I’m gonna arrest you
as criminals and give you heavy punishments.” And there was a movie about it.
Oh yeah the name is “Silence”. It is another tip to learn
Japanese history as well so I recommend watching it!
Ok, let’s get back! Actually there were various theories
behind. A year before an alliance has been treated, there was Japanese original beef stew was
made. The name is “NIKUJAGA.” A Japanese official, “Togo Heihachiro” has studied abroad in Great
Britain. And he liked British beef stew so much! And he was so obsessed and he wanted to
bring back the recipe to Japan. However, Japan didn’t have enough seasonings in that
time to make the original recipe. So they used soy sauce and sugar to look like real
beef stew, but it didn’t work out very well. I’m so glad that I could talk to it!
Ok, let’s get back! Dropping the atomic bombs was one of
the worst disasters happened in the history of humankind. I hope it won’t happen, never and
ever. And also the Manhattan Project in which the U.S government was deciding
which cities they are trying to drop it in Japan. According to the report,
Kyoto was one of the nominations that time, but Kyoto was Paris of Asia, remaining
historical buildings, a lot of sightseeing places lasting over 1,000 years. That’s why the
United States didn’t drop it. Let’s get back! OK, that’s the end. So, it was my first
time watching this clip, and I strongly feel that this is great information
describing about Japanese history. Anyway thank you very much for watching! And
don’t forget to subscribe to our channel too! See you soon! Bye-Bye!
