with you you've got cancer y'all not saying nothing I stood there I looked at him I tried then I laughed and I cried cuz I was in sheer shock because pastor I thought that things like that didn't happen to people like me some of you are in some situations are you trying to figure out how in the world did I get here just wave your hand so I know where you are Thank You Church Thank You Church I went through treatment I got surgery they said for eight weeks you don't have to lay down you go sit down my family's telling me to lay down don't move you just need to but I was under attack see when you lay down long enough you got to face yourself oh my god I love you listen God is good god is breathing on pure motives he knows if you've got some other intentions I said God why are you doing this to me why I'm down here and God starts singing songs to me he starts ministering to me and I said God but how did this happen to me because I've been singing in your name I've been writing in your name I've been prophesying in your name and then you let this happen to me how the happy God said listen you've been doing it in my name but you haven't been doing it for my glory see a lot of people slapping his name on it but you got your own agendas and motoi rebuke this I rebuke those ulterior motives god I bless you oh yeah oh yeah he said you've just been pimping my name I said listen out it's working out for our good our prayers are extended tonight for Bennett College in Greensboro North Carolina who are fighting an uphill battle to secure their accreditation and to meet the standards that are necessary for them to remain operable in the business of educating young black women to be world changers new birth is a local church making a global impact and as a consequence as a church we found out about what it is that Bennett College has been dealing with and we felt as if a mind is a terrible thing to waste can't be a slogan it has to be a mandate and we're mindful of all the more that most of our historically black colleges and universities started in black churches and so as a consequence the church has a responsibility to keep our black colleges open if you believe that would you give God glory for it on Sunday after it is that people spend all their hard-earned money on Christmas gifts and getting ready to pay after Christmas bills with five minutes left in the service I gave a challenge to new birth to this amazing ministry that we were going to raise ten thousand dollars to help support Bennett College I want to proudly announce to the whole world what kind of church you dealing with new birth ain't no regular Church whatever battle we show up to we come to win we're coming strong I ask thinking that it would take us some time to meet that mandate because we had already given in tithes and offerings already sown seed in just five minutes before the benediction I asked this amazing congregation to help me raise ten thousand dollars for Bennett College and I want to announce to the whole world to those of you watching on the internet those of you on the cyber sanctuary those of you on the word network I want to announce for the very first time that in less than nine minutes we did not raise ten thousand dollars we missed our goal we didn't do ten thousand I hope y'all the shout we raised twelve thousand come on I need y'all think or imagined I was on my way to church tonight can I tell you on my way to church another church send us a message new birth we saw what you're doing and because you raised 12,000 they tonight are raising another 12,000 yelling shouting good so we're now turn up $24,000 for Bennett College I want to ask if I have any alumni or students presently a Binnie college would you stay in please all of the um nine students have been a college there realm of this sanctuary I see wave that hand so the people can see you Newport would you give Todd a shout for these amazing women thank you so you're sowing seed into good ground because we're mindful that God did not anoint us to stay in the sanctuary but we are in fact under a mandate to make his name great in the earth realm most of the world is going to be focused on Atlanta Georgia the first weekend in February because that weekend is going to be Super Bowl weekend but I want you to know those of you who are watching on television tonight those of you are streaming online what kind of church new birth is how that while it is that the world is watching football God said remember the least of these because the poor will be amongst you always a new birth is coming into partnership with this county and the city of Atlanta that on Super Bowl Sunday we are going to feed I hope y'all will go crazy the entire homeless population don't y'all let nobody talk about that church asking what your church doing weeds feeding the entire hopeless population of the city of Atlanta we're mindful in the model of Christ's that off times when Jesus finished teaching he then fed the multitudes as a consequence every Sunday in January were challenging all of you to bring cans of soup to church every Sunday in January I want you to bring bags of it just back your car up to the door two men to help you get it out hallelujah is our aim to collect over five thousand cans of soup in four weeks we're raising it up in two different teams two different teams are gonna be collecting canned suits all the way up into the first week of February those who are under 45 and those who are over 45 we got motown against Def Jam it's gonna be it's gonna be the real Super Bowl is we're gonna figure out which generation really cares about our people which generation is really committed to the community which generation really wants to make an impact I'm mindful we in Atlanta so we got the civil rights generation and then we got the black lives matter generation amen those of you who are under 45 and y'all know we gonna win come on open up your mouth there shout now I just wanted to hear you shout I'm over 45 those of you who are over 45 would you yes come on groans ow this is drone folk business y'all gotta sit at the kiddie table thank you as I'll need you to know that you're sitting in a good ground that this is a church that understands that we are not anointed just to pay bills we are knowing it to make a difference in the lives of other people so before we cross over into the new year I'm gonna challenge every person every person if God has blessed you would you lift up that hand if God has blessed you keep that hand little while as the last sermon of 2018 I want to preach tonight using as a subject Mexico is not gonna pay for it [Applause] would you turn to the person beside you and tell them in case you didn't get the news Mexico is not gonna pay for it my dear comrades a valuable lesson in leadership is sometimes found in learning what not to do the commander-in-chief has losing control by spending more time talking to crowds than talking to Congress the government is shut down because policymakers refuse to hand over money so that a wall can go up to children under the age of 9 have already died in makeshift concentration camps which started off as rhetoric at rallies never evolved into practical policies whatever you say you must figure out how you're going to do you just missed it let me back are trying to get off the ground in 2019 God will give you the funding for I really thought you would shout better than that the only people who are shouting right now of those who got a big idea but don't have a big budget but in spite of not having big budget here's your shout you got big faith you have to dream the size of your faith and not think about the number of your limitations with the economy nearing recession with the repercussions of tariffs about to hit our shores with minimum wage at a standstill the feasibility of it getting done seemed completely unlikely so as to stave off the naysayers without any diplomatic discussion the president proclaimed that Mexico was going to pay for it to which immediately the government of Mexico released a statement saying that they had no intentions and no plans of ever paying for the wall but can you for one moment imagine God sending you a benefactor to facilitate your blessing we quoted but we leave it incomplete give and it will be given back to you press down shaken together running over and we stop right there but that's not the end of sacred text it says that men will push into your bosom I hope you are prepared for the fact that in 2019 God is gonna raise up wealthy influential people who sees the value of your idea your gifting and your assignment and they're looking upon opportunity to partner for what you've been dreaming about some of y'all don't believe it but can I tell you God is whispering your name into the ears of people who have the influence and you ain't gonna have to sleep with nobody you ain't gonna have to compromise you ain't gonna have to trade nothing off God said because you've been faithful over a few things in 2019 i'ma make you ruler over many I want you as quickly as you can as quickly as you can would you be seated as quickly as you can I want you to find it in your wallet in your purse in your pocketbook old school players in your rubber band I want you to find a $1 bill would you please as quickly as you can you find a $1 bill I need you to find it as quickly as you can you ballin out of control all you got is a 10 that's good I want you get a dollar in your hand as the 10th millennium BC the original walls were built primarily for defensive mechanisms present-day politics the intention orbiting around the debate is not about the fight for democracy as much as tonight who've had to construct your own walls because your main liability is that you love too hard and you forgive too easy you forgive Negroes who never are apologetic you keep giving people a chance y'all ain't saying nothin to me and they take your niceness for weakness and they got the nerve to act like you owe them something they don't even know I certainly gave you that but it's the God in me had to construct laws had to build walls and it wasn't always for strangers I'm talking to somebody who knows that your greatest level of attack didn't come from people on your job y'all ain't gonna say nothin to meet your greatest level of attack y'all better not sit on me happen from people that had your last name because I thought you were gonna be happy for me I thought you were gonna push me to the next level but you acted like you got an attitude that the favored God is on my life I've had to I had to put up walls so you don't even know what I'm dealing with just cuz I'm smiling it doesn't mean I'm not disgusted God y'all ain't saying nothin to me the grace of God is on me that I can be in the presence of people that played me and I don't feel bitter I know the Holy Ghost is working cuz I could have tore up your whole shot but God said I got this I got this if you have to put up walls you to put up walls cuz folk don't know the torment that you had to live with they have no idea what it is that you survived and what you walked away from they don't even know the domestic violence you had to confront they don't know that you were inappropriately touched by somebody you trusted they they got no idea how it is that you had to pull yourself together when you were getting ready to fall apart and I talked to real people you are struggling it here's what's a trip you are struggling when you knew where to get some money but you're trying to live right trying to do what God has called and here you had to build up walls so that you didn't know that I had to go through bouts of depression and nights where I couldn't sleep you got no idea how it is that I had to fight myself not to go to the Bible god I can't hear nobody in here you don't know how it is that I almost had to self-medicate no idea how it is that I had to shut the door and pull down the blind and sit in the car and just hold on to the steering wheel I'm talking to fifty real people you don't know the moments where I wanted to drive past my own house not not cuz I didn't like them but I just needed a moment to myself cuz I'm sick of home they calling me when they need something but nobody ever checking on me the bills the walls cause poke have no idea that I trained myself not to cry I have served found my inner fortitude and my resilience that that the old me would be in a fetal position trying to pull myself together but now I just need a couple of minutes to just shake it off and and I come back out and you don't even know what I had to deal with because God was in fact my illness gluten just when I thought about that God had to hold me back can I talk to some real people that in your bed you thought about how you were gonna pay them back what you are gonna do if masaf but God had to talk to you off the ledge and let you know they ain't even worth it I've got more for you than what they took from I had to build walls and you don't even know the days I shut the door cuz I I made a commitment I wasn't gonna cry in front of my kids we got no idea I woulda said I had to be there for myself the people who I thought were my friends were secretly jealous then I had another group of people that are only happy for me until I passed them and then when I get more than them their whole attitude shifts and so I gotta sit at tables with folk I got nothing in common with just trying to laugh it off knowing that you secretly hate me to build the walls here comes some here comes Satan and Joe bass Joe goes asking how did I get in this how'd this happen to me and we get the backdrop of information that job is never privy to that God is conducting homeroom class all the angels got to show up and give an accountability of their whereabouts and I don't even destroy looking for somebody's life to mess up looking for somebody's marriage to ruin looking for somebody's reputation to sully where have you been I've been going up and down Georgian Mississippi with real testimonies I need those of you who are in this room wants this need God to build a wall around you for 2019 so you don't go back to your addiction you don't go back to your lifestyle you don't go back to your habit you don't go back to that cycle of self-defeating behavior you don't go back watch this - emotionally controlling relationships you're tired of being terrorized in your own
