It's Starting to Feel Like Home | Teacher Summer Series Ep 12

not stop says closed on Monday we got hole on there and Billy bet me a milkshake that we wouldn't be able to fit it so Billy is now going to buy me a milkshake good morning YouTube overall Billy and I had a pretty productive weekend or at least in my opinion it was productive I'm struggling with something though the angel on my shoulder says Michelle you need to be unpacking boxes meanwhile the devil on my shoulder says Michelle go out shopping into all the new stores around you on Saturday I basically spent the entire day putting together IKEA furniture I got to desk or my studio and I got a couple of different tour units and literally it was all day to put them together got a little bit of unpacking done billion I got most of the living room all together and most of the kitchen all together then yesterday we basically went out shopping all day like we've started just by going to the little shopping center that's close to us and I went to like home goods TJ Maxx and Marshalls and then we ended up driving into another shopping center and I went to all those places again just a different store I'm just trying to find like Tuesday course stuff for my studio and for our office downstairs and for our house in general and I just really want to go shopping now I'm about to go ahead and film my first video here in my studio it is not all put together but I have a video that has to go through morrow so I'm going to go ahead get all of my lighting set up get my camera set up and film that video and I'll catch up with you guys after [Music] okay I am all finished filming and I came downstairs and I asked Billy if we could go to Target his response was that I need to wait until dinner so it's probably a good thing I'm going to go ahead and need a snack because I am hungry and then I'm going to work on doing some unpacking until we can go to dinner and I could go to Target also very frustrating that Billy and I ordered a bed frame last week that was supposed to be here on Friday it didn't come now it changed to Monday by the end of the day which is today but you guys can see it is in Maryland and it got there on Friday and it literally hasn't moved since then so if the bed frame does not end up coming by the end of the day I am NOT going to be happy [Music] but he [Music] okay we are officially target Val we are going to grab a bite to eat out because we don't have everything unpacked yet we also don't have a dining room table and chairs yet so we're going to go grab a bite to eat plus there's a lot of places that we want to try out in the area then we get to go to Target and I have quite a few things that I need to get there what do you think about going to target Billy oh we do like that wasn't prepared at all Hey Baby you want to pump gas for me no not really ah love you let me to my other rant about the gas price Oh what was that in there it was 20 cents more than the Royal Farms is on Route three Oh so unless it's an emergency no BP BP obviously doesn't stand for best price no they don't I just checked on our bed frame and it still have not been opened since Friday morning are they open says closed on Monday all right what's plan B we don't have a plan B this is closed on Mondays really Italian please will do - we'll try needs an Italian is basically like half the restaurants clientele you okay you guys we had planned to go to this like local Italian place so we had heard it was really good but they're closed on Mondays I have no idea where we're gonna eat Val what do you want I'm not going to gumpawa Angela's that's a cop-out you want mom Angeles we can try it let's try mama I wish it was mama Allison just come on oh dude all right let's try it what's this place feel like amazing thank you so what do you have to say now after insulting the place momma Angela a plus plus what do find you chips best chips in the hole hablo pre hem fun yet how are you just dancing there we are officially home from Target it's about nine o'clock so we were there for a pretty long time but it was a successful trip I ended up getting a mirror that has storage on the inside for my studio I got a new lap desk because the old one that I had was absolutely disgusting and I ended up throwing it away because I've had it for several years so I got a new one that is all black so it goes with my theme I also got two end table lamps for in our bedroom Billy got ice cream and we got a hamper for our room we also got some command trips that we needed very badly so it was successful I did not however get a rug and I really want to get just a plain black rug for in my studio so that gives me a reason to go out later in the week to look for one I think tonight I'm going to spend the night down in the basement getting some more stuff in my little storage area put away and organize because the other night I put together my IQ unit so now I get to put away all of my craft supplies into the drawers [Music] I'm all done working down in the basement I did make pretty good progress I got some of the furniture move where I wanted it I got boxes unpacked I got all of my classroom boxes moved into one corner so they're out of the way overall I am happy with what I got done however I need to go back to Ikea because I need to get a work table and I need to get a bookcase because I have nowhere to put all my books and I need to get a couple of other small organizational things so hopefully that can happen within like the next week or so so that would be happening until then it is currently 1115 I need to work on editing the video that I filmed earlier so I can have it up for you guys tomorrow [Music] let me look spiffy I'm gonna be where you going to a job interview I get some bacon good morning you two I was a pretty late last night editing and getting my video uploaded so I did sleep in however I'm very annoyed right now so our bed frame that was supposed to be here on Friday and then it changed to Monday it did not come yesterday in fact it did not even move from its location it has not moved since Friday now last night when we checked it at like 11:30 at night it had changed the status to pending so they had no delivery date and I was like great however today they did change it to today it's a delivery date but it still hasn't moved so who knows if we are ever going to get this bed frame Billie is headed to a job interview with State Farm he really wants a political job but this one is really close to where we live and he would spend less time commuting so fingers crossed for him wish him luck I am going to try to get some boxes unpacked while he is gone and then after he gets back we are going to go check out some other gyms in the area [Music] I [Music] [Music] I'm totally creeping on the UPS guy outside delivering my packages I can't okay I don't want to show you guys too much because I am trying to save most of my like townhouse reveal for the separate video that's going to be on that but I did want to show you guys this because I was super excited that this came in today I got this unit off of Amazon it was a little bit expensive I think it was like 60 or 70 dollars but it holds up to three of your like hair tool so I have my hair dryer my straightener and my curling wand and how cool is this it has a power stretch built into the back so I can keep them plugged in and then for now I'm just kind of hiding the cords behind this really big mirror but I feel like it will be so much more convenient having this okay you guys I don't know if I should be concerned or not Billy had his interview at one o'clock and the place is like 10 or 15 minutes away from us and it's now 439 and I'm kind of concerns if I don't know watch this interview would have taken that long and I haven't heard from him and I'm starting to freak out a little bit also a reason I'm freaking out I cannot find my other cat Zord is laying right here and I have looked everywhere for Luna and I cannot find her and I'm really starting to freak out that she like somehow accidentally got out of the house when I was getting mail or something I have checked everywhere and she's nowhere to be found okay guys I tracked down Luna I have no idea how she got back here because there's literally no space on either side but here she is hi Reena okay we know why did we learn today don't go into small spaces that we can't get ourselves out of I feel like a parent who is sitting at home waiting for their child to come home after they've broken curfew I'm not mad like I'm just worried because he's been gone for almost four hours now and I just feel like something is off I don't know what it is but I texted him I've got no response and I'm just worried so I'm sitting here with my cat just staring out the window waiting for him to come home hey guys everything is okay Billy ended up getting home at like 5:30 he had no idea that the interview it wasn't really an interview he said it was more so like sitting down and talking about what the position would entail it literally took them until 5 o'clock so he got home around 5:30 we went ahead and got ready and now we were headed out to this restaurant called the hideaway so we went there over the weekend I think we went Sunday maybe I think we went Sunday night and we loved it it was kind of out in the middle of nowhere but we both had heard really good things because Billy's sister had been there we tried it out and we loved it they have amazing wings which I am not really a person who likes wings like I don't really get cravings for them but I have to admit they were pretty ba+ when we were there this past time we solve it they have trivia on Tuesday nights and if any of you have been following me for a really long time you know that sorry the road is really bumpy you guys know the trivia is something that I absolutely love it's always something that Billy and I have done together but the past couple months we both got too busy and we kind of had to stop going we were hoping we could find a place here that does trivia so we're going to give it a try tonight and then I will catch up with you guys after hey guys there are cars literally lined up for trivia here so I think we're going to have to bail and just eat somewhere else tonight I just wanted on the record ladies and gentlemen that Billy cannot parallel park to save his life if any of you watch the office and you guys know what I'm talking about there is an episode where Michael Scott it's trying to pull into a spot and he has a ton of room and then he's like well not going to make this one that is Billy right now we have tried three different spots and Billy can not get his car in there any comments we're going to Nanda's no I don't want to go there so they do not eat guinea pigs you know or that I do Oh are you actually gonna get your car to fit in the spot I love you [Music] I can do it so we just went to some random restaurant but we went in it was a little bit nicer than what we were wanting so I think we're going back to Red Robin yes Billy and I are now home from dinner it's already nine o'clock and I literally have no idea how it got to be this late but I think we decided we are going to spend our night playing a board game because in all honesty we've been doing nothing but unpacking and we have made really good progress no it's not all done yet but I don't feel like it's going to be done for several more weeks like well okay that sounds really bad what I mean is it's probably going to take another good like week to get everything fully unpacked get all of the laundry done and we're also still working on like buying things because we have almost twice the amount of square footage that we had before so I feel like it's all going to come together by the end of the summer but I'm just not worried about it being perfect right now I need to let go of that so we are going to play a board game that way we can sit and just honestly enjoy like our time here together and it was like celebrating the way Billy and I have always loved playing board games of us really really competitive so it works out really well then we are going to try to get to bed at a decent time because Billy actually has a job interview tomorrow in DC for a political consulting company so we need to make sure we get to bed at a decent time because I also have to get up early I need to film and then I am meeting someone for coffee tomorrow okay are you ready to play a game or are you Ticonderoga with a what kind of a pencil this isn't common knowledge yes it is for touch I don't know if you should write down to roga Ticonderoga yes okay we are all done plane and one of us is happy the other one not so much we're going to eat some ice cream and then go ahead and get to bed so I will catch up with you guys in the morning good morning YouTube and yes it is actually morning this time I'm up early which I'm not really happy about but it's okay it doesn't happen very often for me over the summer I woke up at 8:15 it's currently about 9:30 so I went ahead and just got ready I had to get up early because Billy and I are going to leave around 10:45 I have to take the mark train into DC he has a job interview there in DC and I'm going to transfer and take metro to Alexandria there is a girl who follows me and she contacted me and wanted to meet for coffee and I absolutely love to meet up with as many of you as possible so long as it fits in my schedule so I'm gonna meet up with her and I'm going to take Metro back to DC Billie and I will meet up and we are going to have dinner there in DC now the reason I had to go so early is because I hope to film my video that goes up tomorrow before I head there so I'm going to go ahead and fill my target haul video let me show you guys everything I got ignore the school for my classroom that I'm currently using for like my vanity area and all the junk behind it but look at all of these bags I honestly thought I hadn't gotten that much and then I took all the backed out of my car and I quickly realized that that was not true but if you guys have not already watched the video make sure you go back and watch it it is all the back-to-school stuff that I've gotten from Target I'm going to go ahead and jump right into it because I have one two three well I have a lot of action alright one of the first things that I got is this chalkboard sign for the first day of school now I have seen these for a while they happen almost every year at the target dollar spot I know it's called bullseye playground but to me it will always be a target value spot I'm all done filming it is 10:35 so Billy and I have about ten minutes get ourselves together gather all of our stuff and then go ahead and head to the Mark Station and while I have the time let me just quickly update you guys our best frame it still has not come this here be here Friday it changed to Monday didn't come Monday a change Tuesday didn't come yesterday and currently it again says that the delivery date is pending so I have no idea what is going on I'm going to try to call them at some point today I also had a package delivered from Amazon yesterday only it wasn't delivered like it says that it was left on my front porch and it wasn't there and it was only out there for maybe 20 minutes before I checked and there's no way someone took it within that amount of time so I'm thinking maybe it went to like a neighbor's house but we haven't introduced ourselves yet and I don't want to go over and be like hi I'm your new neighbor do you have my package so I'm kind of just waiting it out for now and then maybe I'll make a call to the post office like tomorrow if it hasn't shown up yet what you said about the Amazon box I went outside and it was on the porch so I'm good to go it is not lost after all I will show you what I got when I do my tenth house tour this is all going to be organizational stuff or my vanity are you guys a little change of plan Billy and I were not prepared and we did not look up the schedule for the MARC train and we got there around 11 o'clock the next train was not the partying to go to Union Station until 1202 which was not going to work because Billy's interview because at 1 o'clock and we said and we talked about it and Billy was not really excited about that job anyway it wasn't really something he wanted to do plus he interviewed give it a thumbs down right now plus the interview that he had the other day with State Farm is something that he's a lot more excited about even though it's not political because it's local and you won't have to commute and you won't have to commute for job that he's not excited about so we talked about it and he's not going to go to his interview which I'm okay with because I'd rather him be happy with where he is going to work so we are going to guess and we're going to drive to a metro station I still don't take Metro into Alexandria but we figured we'd go ahead and drive so that we're not sitting there for almost an hour waiting for the MARC train alright Billy and I decided he is going to take metro into the city he's going to go grab lunch in there because - Billy Washington DC is like his target he has lutely loves it meanwhile I'm going to take Metro down to Alexandria in Virginia meet up with Caitlin for coffee and then we will meet back together in DC for dinner [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay change of plans and I feel like that is the entire theme for today and it's okay let me back up a little bit first so I met up with Katie at the Starbucks and I absolutely loved meeting her she was amazing too was so sweet and every time I get to meet someone that follows me and that supports me like it just seriously makes my entire day and I'm so happy with all the relationships that I've gotten to build with people because of my channel and I'm just extremely grateful and I had an amazing time talking with her I really hope that I can keep in contact with her now when I left there I took Metro back to meet Billy he had gone to a coffee shop like right around the metro station but when I got off the Metro I was on like the opposite end and the directions he gave me I could not get there correctly and I ended up walking in this huge circle and it was like 95 degrees outside I was hot I was hungry and when I got to the coffee shop I was just not in a good mood and I'll be completely honest like I just took it out on him like I had a really bad moment and we got in this huge fight and we decided to leave DC because honestly at that point I was just like I was done I had been in crowds on the metro and I just was not feeling it anymore and I honestly just wanted to come home like again I was hot I was hungry so we left and we came back home and we got home and we found all the furniture they had left which is good because it finally got delivered but then that stressed me out even more because now I have a bed frame and a dresser and two nightstands to put together and I'm just I don't know it's been a little bit crappy afternoon like I had a great start of my day I loved getting to meet with Katie but then like I just kind of fell apart in the afternoon so Billy and I spent the past like hour and a half just kind of having a hard heart and talking through it and all that and we're fine now I'm just still like I know I think I'm just stressed and like exhausted probably just from all the moving and everything is new like I don't really know people here I don't know where I'm going I don't know where anything is and it's just I think starting to get to me a little bit but Billy and I are going to go grab a bite to eat and then just spend the rest of the night and we're going to put together the furniture and just have a nice relaxing night together and then tomorrow I've got a bunch of different errands that I need to run so I'm going to go get a bite to eat and I'll catch back up with you guys later on so our bed finally was delivered after being delayed for like four or five days we're going to attempt to get this put together so that we can actually sleep on a real bed tonight rather than our mattress on the floor I am Valens only in a voluminous pass and they're right they need to solely with those girls hit me up this time you only want to come a trip into this side otherwise it's only a different video so many little fail okay so it is officially 158 in the morning but Billy and I at least have some bedroom furniture we got our best put together and we got a nice and put together and here's what happened so I was putting the back on mine and I don't know if you can see it very well because it's dark but I definitely put the back on backwards the brown side was supposed to be towards the wall and the black side was supposed to be facing and and Billy was making fun of me and then he turned his nightstand over and he had put their little felt foot pieces on the top of his nightstand instead of the bottom so moral of the story do not put together furniture at two o'clock in the morning it's just not going to end well also just to show you guys it is 2:30 in the morning and I am still editing the video it has to go up at 7 a.m. this is just not my week you guys good morning YouTube just tell them this morning good afternoon YouTube first of all I was up until 4:00 a.m. editing my video and gaming uploaded so it did sleep in until noon but honestly I think I could have done much worse I'm totally okay with that I'm in much better spirits than I was last night I think I was just very stressed like everything was starting to hit me and especially with having to go to California this weekend I'm just thinking of all the things I have to get done between now and then but I'm in a really good mood today because I'm headed to go get a p o-- box because I've had a ton of people asking me and I don't want to get one until I've moved so I'm going to go get one and I will make sure that I link that in the description of every video for you guys if you are interested what is the idea [Applause] ok I got all the information I need for the PIO box I just have to go online do the application bring in my IP and all that so hopefully within the next several days I'm hoping I can get it done before I go to California I will have a PA box as soon as I get it I will make sure that I give it to you guys not stop I wanted to show you guys this because I thought it was so cute and adorable and I'm just so appreciative so Katy the girl that I met up with for coffee it gave me these I just thought it was so sweet that says you are the best teacher ever it is definitely going in my studio these little sticky notes one is coffee and one is donuts like hello that speaks my language and then she wrote me a super-sweet note I am just so appreciative of everyone that I get to meet that follows me I can't even begin to tell you guys how important you all are to me so my aunt was sweet enough to send me this adorable black and white striped pencil case she sent me a picture of it a couple of days ago and I was just in love and I'm so appreciative that she sent me one I cannot wait to use it this next school year we are now headed to the gym we did try out in LA Fitness around the corner the other day but we're not sure 100% if we like it because it's very like corporate feeling and we're used to more like locally owned gyms so we're going to go try out a different place today and then I will update you guys after I know I'm a hot sweaty mess but we just finish up our workout overall I think we liked this place a lot better they just have a lot more to offer they have a lot bigger of a facility and they just have more like services and there's a physical therapy place right there and I just feel like to be a better fit for us it is a little bit more expensive but I think it's definitely worth it considering what they have to offer now it is almost 7 o'clock so I think we're going to head get dinner and then get hold and sit together maybe hopefully moving it a lot we are living out of boxes still it's getting there like we've definitely made a lot of progress this week but it's just not quite done yet but we are getting there we'll do some more work tonight and I'll catch back up with you guys later on [Music] okay Billy the Builder has struck again he put his screws on me complete wrong side so now he has to take them all out and show to you before yeah but I wasn't looking at like which side I was looking at with a hole you didn't ask mrs. Wetmore how to do the segmentation Stockmann our dresser is officially put together and we now have all of the furniture in our apartment assembled just in time for us to go to Ikea and get more furniture good morning you two first of all the only reason my eyeliner has a really crappy wing today is because I tried to experiment with gel eyeliner and it did not go very well and I messed it up and I didn't feel like starting over so I just turned it into a really crappy waiting Billy and I are headed to Ikea because we have a coupon for 25 dollars off a $150 purchase I need to get bookshelves for down in my like crap storage area in the basement and I need to get a work table for down there so we figured we'd go ahead and go today because the coupon is only valid today Saturday or Sunday Sunday I'm going to be in California and tomorrow I'm going to be filming and packing all day long so we're going to go ahead and head there today so I will show you guys what I end up getting [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay you guys I feel like Billy would be really upset with me if I got any bookshelf except for the Billy one so I don't think I have many options but I do need a bookshelf and I think I'm going to go ahead and just get it in white so it is nice and neutral so this is what I'm going to get from my work table in my craft room this is the biggest size it is only $36 and then the legs for them are four dollars each so I can get the entire table for $52 billion this little tiny one for our laundry room to use as a folding table so then these are the legs that I am getting which actually the family price is only $3 per leg so it'll be a little bit cheaper I'm just getting the plain black legs because most of the furniture I have for that room is either black white or a tan color I also really like these boxes for storage I really like these ones that are white on the outside and have black on the inside these are the smaller size and then they also have it in a larger size in the solid white I don't even have to tell you guys you already know that I'm getting this pillow so the cover is five dollars and then the inner cushion part is $5.99 so the total for both pieces is 1099 I already have about three sets of these magazine piles at home so you get two of them one is slightly larger one is a little bit smaller for $8.99 there are really really heavy plastic so they fold up really well I personally use it to hold a lot of my cardstock at home I absolutely love these picture frames they're only $0.99 I don't need any today because I actually already own a bunch of them but they are perfect for displaying centers or you can use them for displaying little signs at open house or back-to-school night oh yeah I went in a ridiculous ml my card currently says it is 804 degrees we are leaving IKEA for belly is stuck in the back seat because in order to fit all of the furniture we had to fold up the front seat but we got all on there and Billy bet me a milkshake that we wouldn't be able to fit it so Billy is now going to buy me a milkshake please ignore my hair because I have not showered today my original plan was that Billy and I were going to go to the gym after IKEA and I was going to shower after that but it didn't end up happening we got home from Ikea my friend Jane came over and we just kind of been chit-chatting so we are now going to dinner with her and her boyfriend it's some kind of sushi plays and then I'll catch up with you guys after [Applause] what is now work [Applause] hello Billy and I just got home I need to go ahead and end this vlog because I need to get it edited and up for you guys tomorrow now next week I will be in California but I will still have videos going up on Tuesday and Thursday just like normal and I promise I will have a town house tour coming up soon it's going to have to wait until after I get back from California because we are still getting furniture and we're so getting things on packed but I promise it is coming if you guys enjoyed this video please go ahead and give it a thumbs up that really helped me out helps it to reach more teachers don't forget to subscribe to my channel if you haven't already so you don't miss any future videos as always thank you for watching I love you all so much and I'll catch you in the next one thank you so much for watching all the way to the end and for supporting my youtube channel if you want to check out any my older videos you can use the two links right down here if you want to subscribe to my channel so you don't miss any future videos you can use like right up here so the links to all of my social media sites my teachers pay teacher's store and my Amazon store are down in the description box for you and I will catch you guys in the next one [Music]
