lord is saying and we're going to hear from the lord today and so we're going again to the book of judges and again i want to say hello let me just take a minute and say hello i want to say hi to sister cheryl sister sarita uh a pastor tauren god bless you sister christy sister robin god bless you i love you all i thank god for all of you again i'm asking you to find a man of god do you know a man of god that would be blessed by the teaching of samson i want you to go right now and text tag tweet tell them turn it on turn it on the woman of god has a word of the lord that we're sharing directly from the scripture and i believe that god's word will be a great blessing to those of you that are uh watching and willing to adhere to the word of god well we're going again to the book of judges and just for the sake of those of you that are tuning in for the very first time we have been talking about the judge in the name of samson and we've talked about for several weeks how important it is to understand that from his birth this is samson from his birth he was called to be a nazarite he was consecrated unto god which means to be separated set apart uh the lord had a specific assignment for him for 20 years he judged israel and he was judging israel in a time where there was a uh a decline in the culture there was like a trajectory that was going downward and this i tell you as you study the word of god you can understand um the human frailties of the judges but i want to lift up today the fact that it was uh samson who was called to uh really to come against the philistines but the bible talks about what happened because of samson um playing games i mean you all know the story about how he laid his head in delilah's lap he he was one that kept playing we kept doing riddles and she just had this spirit of seduction on her now i want to begin by talking about delilah for a minute and just reminding you all that her name actually means lustful her name meant languishing temptress and bait and as we look at the life of delilah she was one that was hired by the lords of the philistines in order to destroy samson and she wanted to find out the source of his strength and the bible talks about how often so many times she just kept pressing him she tried attracted him first tempted him uh we gave him this that allowed the spirit of seduction to attract uh to attract samson to the point that he just kept on being connected to this woman the bible talks about how that the lust of the eye was also a part of samson's issue he said that this woman was pleasing to him to his eyes and so we look at the life of samson we look at delilah again her course of action was to continue to press to continue to beguile him to entice him to be bait to him to discover where his strength lie and so delilah said to samson tell me i pray the in in judges chapter 16 and verse 6 tell me i pray thee i pray thee wherein thy great strike lieth and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee and delilah said to samson tell me he just she just kept pressing him and so we find in the word of god that after uh delilah caused samson to lay his head in her lap he began to express to her all that was in his heart he started telling her well the way that you get to my strength is to shave my head and so as i just paraphrased for a moment we find that she had the the other philistines she began to call him just like she had done so many times uh samson sampson's the philistines are upon thee and so in this particular case and to me it's one of the tragedies of the scripture when we look at the fact that samson thought that because he had been so used to shaking himself and god allowing his strength to come through him he thought that in this case too that he could just do like he's always done but the bible teaches that that samson did not know that the spirit of god had lifted up off of him which brings me now to uh judges chapter 16 and verse 21 and again our subject tonight is blinded insulted and enslaved but remembered and again we're talking about this judge in israel samson a man that was noted for his remarkable strength he was absolutely strong and vibrant and god gave him this strength it did not just come from him it came from the lord and i want to say to you all tonight i need you all to hear me as i've been studying and studying some of the ways that men of god are absolutely trapped and seduced by seducing spirits is that the devil anoints people to try to connect with the area of the vulnerability if a man has low self-worth low self-esteem if he battles with and this is today i'm not speaking of samson at this moment but i'm talking about the spirit of seduction that oftentimes as it relates to this spirit that it is through flattery that the door is open yes it is through flattery telling a person how good they look how sharp they are how handsome they are and if you go down through history if you look at the then-ness and then look at the now-ness and then look at always you'll understand that often men become affected by the lust of the eye and even in the scripture the bible talks about in the new testament that all that is in the world is the lust of the eye the lust of the flesh the pride of life but in the as it relates to the spirit of seduction it is often utilized through the spirit of flattery in fact i've seen through generals i've seen uh captains of armies i've seen presidents i've seen different men and as we study how did the woman connect with them how did it start most of the time it starts with flattery and so let's just go back to the word of god judges chapter 16 and verse 21 but the bible says and this is after samson had laid his head in delilah's lap and he fell asleep and while he was asleep delilah called for the lords of the philistines they came they shaved his head and the scripture says and i want you to look at this judges chapter 16 verse 21 but the philistines took him number one the first thing they did was they captured him and when they captured him the bible says they put out his eyes next and let's just talk about that he was blinded to be blinded is having no regard to rational discrimination it is restriction it is the lack of direction it is um made to destroy the site and so if you look at what happened in the biblical sense that they took his eyes now listen samson was not just a judge he was not just strong he was not just consecrated he was an anointed vessel of god he was a judge for 20 years and so one of the first things they wanted to do was capture him and then they put out his eyes or his vision because they did not want a champion warrior to be able to destroy them so they begin to take advantage of his weakness at the time which was blindness and because he was blind the first thing they did captured him put out his ability to see and remember that it was the eyes a part of the senses that cause so much trouble the irony is is that that was one of the areas that samson had a weakness in and so we're going on the bible says but the philistines took him and put out his eyes and brought him down to gaza and what did they do next they bound him with fetters of brass and he did grind in the prison house and so they bound him with shackles they bound him they captured him they took him they put out his eyes and then they began to bind him up and so as we look at this he was not only uh ins it blinded by the enemy and the adversary but then according to the word of god after they did take out his eyes or gouge out his eyes uh which is such a tragedy for a champion because it is a champion that is able to see his opponent he's able to see who's coming against him to fight a champion needs his eyesight so that he'll be able to be a an assertive or an aggressive warrior against his adversary but what did the enemy do to him removed captured him took his sight and then think about it began the process of the insulting the bad treatment the insolence which means that it was rude and disrespectful behavior against samson the indignities of the treatment and the circumstances that they the way that they handled him i tell you the shame of losing his dignity the shame of losing or or shaking himself and not having the spirit of god helping him any longer not even knowing when god's spirit had lifted up off of him and then they treated him with contempt uh just treating him as if he was worthless a deservant of scorn they spoke of him in a disrespectful or a scornful way and so then he was enslaved oh my god to me one of the worst parts of samson's uh demise was of course the putting out of his eyes but also if a person is used to being strong used to being free used to being a champion used to tearing a lion apart with his human hands i'm telling you used to taking the jawbone and killing a thousand men he was used to being a champion used to winning but here he's captured eyes put out then we find that he found himself brought down to gaza and they bowed him with fetters of brass and remember uh in his early days samson was so strong that if someone would put a fetter of brass upon him he would snap it right in front of them because he had so much strength but he lost his strength i need you to really let's glean from the word of god let's see what happens when the games are played when the seduction is happening what happens when the lust is conceived it bringeth forth sin and when it's finished it brings forth death and so he was enslaved and what is enslavement it is a human being that is classed as property and who is forced to work for nothing an enslaved person is a human being made to be a slave and so he is no longer a threat to his adversary he's no longer a threat because his strength had been ripped and stripped from him and so i want to just reference in the bible there are several individuals where the eyes had something to do with their demise let's go to eve for a minute in the book of genesis chapter 3 and verse 6. it was eve that saw when the woman saw the fruit of the tree that it was good for food and pleasing to the eye she ate it okay we're just looking at instances where the eyes or what you see or what was seen affected the circumstances of the situation at that time let's think about another woman whose eyes got her in trouble there was a woman by the name of lot's wife who was instructed not to look back at to sodom and gomorrah not to look back but she did she looked back and the bible teaches that she became a petrified pillar of salt and so we recognize in the word of god amen that samson again i'm showing you these uh parallels to show you how important it is that you don't allow your eyes to make you sin i tell you you have to realize even in the new testament that you have to touch not taste not handle not the unclean thing so what can we learn from samson we learn that he kept on playing he kept on you know with the riddles he kept on playing the game he kept on playing and and i'm telling you it's something about the spirit of seduction that it weakens a man it begins to weaken him little by little gradually of course especially with the culture being the way it was at that time and i find it fascinating and i find the irony of the fact that every time that samson uh revealed a portion of what he said was his strength even though he was lying or not being honest that every time here come the philistine now that to me is like a sign that every time you tell delilah you know that if you if you tie me up with twigs then i'll lose my strength but every single time he revealed a level of something then here come delilah screaming out samson samson the philistines be upon you so we can learn we can glean you cannot play with the devil you cannot play with the flesh you cannot play with self you cannot you got to go forward in the things of god i tell you as he was enslaved he was uh dealt with contempt and dignities insolence i mean he was disrespected and insulted so he was blinded he was insulted he was enslaved but at the end of the day i just want to read this to you as we see that our time is just flying tonight that it is amazing how god his grace is still yet sufficient now let's look at what happened after he went through the process of being blinded of being insulted of being enslaved and i'ma tell you something when you are used to liberty being bound is a horrible feeling when you're used to being free and being happy and being joyful being bound is a awkward feeling and that is what happens when you lay your head in delilah's lap the next thing you know there is bondage there is captivity there is blindness there is of the enemy's desire to take them of course took him to gaza bound him up with chains of brass chains or shackles and then he had to work in the prison house and just can you imagine a champion a judge this is the person that was seen as uh the champion for the for god's people and there he is listen in the prison working in hard labor but as we look at the word of god the bible says in judges chapter 16 and verse 28 and samson called unto the lord let me read that again and samson somebody need to put that in the subject line that samson called unto the lord what did he do he was enslaved he was in bondage he had been in chains he was working doing hard bondage i tell you they had taken him put out his eyes bounded with fetters of brass and began to work him like of course a slave as he became but in the midst of the slavery in the midst of the bondage in the midst of the captivity the bible teaches us that samson's hair started growing back and the bible says in judges chapter 16 and 28 it says and samson called unto the lord let's just pause right there and and let's look at the fact that samson in the time of trouble he called on the lord in the trouble in the midst of the insults in the midst of the indignities in the midst of the contempt in the midst of the shame in the midst of all of it the bible says that samson called unto the lord and what did he say to god he said oh lord god he asked god to remember me he said remember me i pray thee and then he said to the lord now i first i want you to remember me i want you to remember me in this hour remember me at this moment remember me in this day and then he said to to the lord first remember me i pray thee and then he said and strengthen me you see it was god that gave samson this strength it was god that gave him this remarkable consecration from his mother's womb it was god that called him to be a nazarite it was god that laid his hand upon him to give him this supernatural ability and this supernatural strength it did not come from samson it came from god but it was the adversary the philistines they wanted to know the source of his strength they wanted to know so that they could make sport of him they could laugh in his face they could dominate him my god but god hallelujah the bible says and samson called unto the lord and said o lord god remember me i pray thee he prayed he asked the lord lord remember me and then he said and strengthen me you see he remembered what it felt like to have strength he may not have had his ability to see but he remembered what it was like to be strong he said god give it back to me remember me and then strengthen me i pray thee only this once oh god that i may be at once a venge of the philistines for my eyes what were his eyes his sense of faculty his ability to perceive amen his faculty of sight he said lord justice one more time i want you to strength and strengthen me and let me tell you something when god heard the prayer of samson he strengthened him he gave him the ability to to be recovered to be restored he restored unto him his strength and i want to make it very plain that when the lord gave samson his sight back and when the lord restored unto him he asked a lad a little child to lead him to the pillars of the temple and when he did that he just simply asked the lord uh this little child to lead him to the post or to the pillar of this temple hallelujah i just y'all forgive me i get excited when i think about after all that samson went through after all of the devastation all of the shame all of the guilt of being insulted being blinded being enslaved that he cried out to god when he cried out to the lord he asked the lord lord oh god remember me this one time and i'm telling you god vindicated this man of god and he knew praise the lord and and in judges chapter 16 and verse 25 the bible says and it came to pass when their hearts were merry and that they said call on samson that he may that we may make sport and they called for samson out of the prison house and he made them sport and they set him between the pillars and samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand suffer me that i may feel the pillars whereupon the house standard that i may lean upon their verse verse number 27. now the house was full of men and women and all of the lords of the philistines were there and there were upon the roof about 3 000 men and women and behold while samson made sport and samson called unto the lord again he said unto the lord remember me hallelujah listen i want somebody to just put that in the subject line right now i want you to just say remember me remember me remember me just as a a sign that you're listening and that you're hearing he said to the lord remember me lord i pray thee only this once oh god that i may be avenged for my eyes listen to what god did and sampson took a hold of the two pillars upon which the house stood on which it was born up of the one with his right hand and on the other of his left and samson said let me die with the philistines and he bowed himself with all his might and and the house fell upon the lords and upon all the people that were therein so the dead which he slew at his death were more than which he slew in his life i just want to say that as we look at the life of samson whose name means the son as we look at this man of god who was a nazarite from his mother's womb who was called by god there was an anointing upon samson and god gave him strength it was god that remembered him that strengthened him again and gave him his strength back and let me tell you all something every person watching me right now i want to tell you this that samson let's glean from it let's learn from it let's look at what happened in his life even though younger days he devalued his strength he devalued his information by sharing it with delilah and she immediately betrayed him and caused the demise of this great judge i tell you this but it was god who had given him this supernatural strength and i don't know about you but it stands out to me as we look into our text tonight and look into our scripture it's amazing that it was a lad that led him to the pillars it was a child that led him to the pillars and he was able to position his hands in such a way that his strength came back and he was able to destroy the adversary let me share this with you tonight as we glean as we study as we pull from the word of god i want to tell you that samson used all of that pain my lord all of the shame all of the hurt all of everything that was built up all that time samson used all of it in order to be empowered he used the pain of losing his eyesight the pain of losing both eyes the pain of being insulted blinded being shackled being uh imprisoned being enslaved he used the pain of being betrayed by delilah betrayed by amen the father-in-law that gave away his first wife all of the years of pain he used it and he was able to be empowered to destroy his enemy and i believe that we can glean even from this story in warfare those of you that see the enemy you see his process his plots his plans his scheme some of you may have fallen in the past some of you may be in a battle right now where the adversary is trying to rob you of your vision rob you up your sight rob you of what god promised you he's trying to get you to connect with the wrong person in your life that will lead you down a path that will not be the path of your destiny i say to you today to ask god to remember you one more time strengthen you one more time and come against the assignment over your life the assignment over your anointing the assignment over your consecration the assignment i want to say specifically to a man of god that is watching amen you might be a married man you might be a single man and if the enemy is trying to make you fall fall into fornication fall into adultery fall into perversion fall into sin i say to you tonight in the name of jesus to remember the nazarite anointing remember the consecration remember what god did for samson remember that he was a judge for 20 years he had a plan god had a perfect plan for this man but because of the lust of the eye of desiring of the things of the flesh we find that samson sinned but i thank god for his vindication he was vindicated after all that happened the grace of god was extended unto him so i ask you today to pull from the source of the holy spirit to pull from the fire of god pull from the anointing and ask the lord lord this one more time strengthen me lord don't let me slip lord don't let me fall but hold to god's unchanging hand and the lord will sustain you well our time is far spent my god my our time is far spent and i pray that as you have been listening to tonight's study that you will be able to see from this illustration that you'll be able to see that god was able to bring samson out of the prison and he was able to return and destroy his enemy i want you to know that the wages of sin according to romans chapter 3 praise the lord excuse me chapter 6 the wages of sin is death but the gift of god is eternal life romans chapter 3 and verse 23 says for all have sinned and come short of the glory of god if you find yourself in a crossroad of your life and you find that the enemy is trying with all of his might to destroy you to destroy the plan of god the will of god i say to you tonight to fight and ask the lord to remember you tonight and to restore your strength in the name of the lord well god bless you let me say thank you again for watching us tonight i love you all i must go praise the lord i got another meeting that i must do but i thank god for each and every one of you again i want you to just type in the subject line if you have learned something tonight just remember but samson prayed remember me lord or strengthen me put that in the subject line strengthen us god strengthen us so that we will be able to stand strong in the things of god again thank you for watching it is written i need to know if anybody out there has been enlightened or blessed or encouraged by the teaching of the life of samson i need to hear from you tonight i need you to put it in the subject line pastor kim i was blessed when you talked about the seduction and the betrayal and the vindication or for those of you that have heard tonight's teaching as we've been sharing about the fact that he was insulted enslaved and blinded listen if you've learned anything just put in the subject line pastor kim i've been blessed i understand what the lord is saying i want to say to those of you listening in my final words for you tonight to guard your heart guard your eyes put a guard on your eyes make a covenant with god i am not going to purposefully sin against you i remember an older gentleman a mighty man of god who said in a service one day that he had made a covenant with god and a covenant with his eyes that he would not sin against god i encourage you tonight to stand strong and listen if you have fallen if you have made mistakes in the past if you have you know made uh or if you feel so ashamed about things that have been done in your life remember this every sin debt is paid by the blood of jesus and the grace of god all you have to do is ask the lord to forgive you to wash you from every sin every iniquity he will deliver you and set your soul free in jesus name well i'll see you all next week on it is written i love you all daily in jesus name don't forget to put in the subject line uh strengthen me lord remember me lord as we are talking tonight in agreement about samson the judge i love you all see you next week
