of paul's letters amen that paul wrote during the time of his ministry in rome i want to share with you out of the book of first thessalonians chapter number 5 and verse 16 and it begins like this it simply says rejoice evermore and then verse 17 says and pray without ceasing in everything give thanks for this is the will of god in christ jesus concerning you i want to begin today by asking you to have a new outlook on this year i want you to begin a year in a different way i want you to understand that god has given us in this particular epistle he's given to amen the thessalonians he told them to rejoice ever more when you talk about rejoicing it really means to praise god to worship god to to have a joyful disposition in spite of what comes or what goes i've adopted a new phrase where i believe that we can say hallelujah anyhow hallelujah when things are good hallelujah when things are not so good but the bible teaches us to pray without ceasing i want to encourage the believers the body of christ that if you've never prayed before i want you to have a new mindset that i'm going to pray this year like i've never prayed before and everything i'm going to give thanks for this is the will of god in christ jesus concerning you and then the bible teaches us in the book of romans another one of paul's letters in romans he tells us listen i beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of god that you present your body a living sacrifice holy and acceptable unto god which is your reasonable service and and be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove that which is good and the acceptable and the perfect will of god i want to talk to people today that want to be in the will of god in 2021 you don't want to be in a place where you're outside of god's will but you want to be right in the center of his will and his purpose for your life and i want to share with you all today that god began to deal with me even in the book of philippians another one of the letters that paul wrote to the church and he said to them and the peace of god which passes all understanding it shall keep your heart and your minds through christ jesus and so this year i want to encourage you i want to urge you i want you to embrace this truth that because of the way you think it's going to help shape your year you got to think right so that you can be blessed yes you see many people they allow their minds to be dormant to to be tormented and to be overtaken and overwhelmed with the cares of this life and with the pressures of this world but you gotta lift your heart lift your faith and lift your mind and it is paul that gives us this instruction he says in the word of god to the philippians he says finally brethren whatsoever things are true and whatsoever things are honest and whatsoever things are just if the whatsoever things are pure and whatsoever things are lovely whatsoever things are of a good report if there be any virtue and if there be any praise the bible says to think on these things i want to encourage you to let your mind think right do you know that you have the ability and you have the power to captivate a thought if it's something to bring your spirit down in fact the bible says in corinthians chapter 10 the scripture tells us to cast down imaginations and every hot thing that exalt itself against the knowledge of god what does the word say and bring it into captivity every thought to the obedience of christ and so that means when the enemy comes to bring in defeat when he comes to bring in negativity when he comes to weigh your spirit down that's when you as a believer you're gonna have to lift your heart and lift your faith and speak to your mind and tell the devil i refuse to let you take me into depression i refuse to let you take me into oppression i refuse to let you make me feel lonely come on somebody why can i say that it's because god is for you and if god is for you he's more than the whole world against you oh yes i got a text i want to share with you i want y'all to help me announce my text those of you watching right now listen i came to tell you some good news oh yes the gospel is good news i stopped by to tell you that there is a brighter day coming oh yes it is i don't care what you saw in the past i don't care what the problem was yesterday but i stopped by to tell you that there is a brighter day coming yeah you might have heard last year you might have been disappointed last year you might have had a broken heart last year but this year you're getting ready to experience a brighter day i want to talk to born again christians that love god with your whole heart your mind your body and all of your strength i stopped by to tell you that you have dominion over what you think and there are so many people that's going through right now because they have not allowed their minds to think right oh yes the bible records it in the book of isaiah the scripture says who's mine my god whose mind is stayed on him he said i will keep you in perfect peace some of your peace has been erupted some of your peace has been interrupted some of your peace has been shattered because you've allowed your mind to take you to a dark place but i rebuke that devil that's coming to attack your mind i rebuke that stronghold that's coming to attack your mind you gotta put on the whole armor of god and put on the mind of christ saints of god i declare it over you that there is a brighter day coming listen the scripture teaches us that weeping may endure for a night but joy is coming in the morning i'm so glad that the word of god says that the god of peace which passes all understanding he's going to keep your heart and your mind through christ jesus oh yes i remember her when we were coming up in ministry my late pastor dr angie ray she used to tell us that the mind is the battleground and she used to tell us that where the enemy attacks the people of god is that he attacks them in their mind and so she taught us a little secret she said that when you feel bombarded in your mind she said stop for a minute and apply the blood of jesus do you know that the blood was given to us as a weapon and it was given to us as a token and you can apply the blood to your thoughts you can apply the blood to your mind you can apply the blood when the spirit of hopelessness tries to overtake you you can bind that devil and say that i will be all right you got to go into the spirit realm and say the blood the blood the blood when the devil tries to make you feel defeated you gotta go in the spirit realm and say i place the blood in my thoughts the blood in my thinking the blood in my mind and when the thoughts keep on coming that's when you gotta go a little bit deeper you got to say i apply the blood in my thinking listen not only that you can understand that you can go even deeper than that and say the blood in my cerebral quartet the blood in my frontal lobe the blood in my brain the blood in my thought processes the blood in my mind you do not have to give in to the devil but the bible teaches us in the book of isaiah that the weapons of our warfare they are not carnal but they are mighty through god to the pulling down of strongholds casting down imagination the bible says in isaiah that no weapon formed against us shall prosper and even the tongue that rise against us in judgment thou shall condem oh bless the name of the lord i want the people of god not to allow the spirit of negativity to lead you to depression i've seen it with my own eyes there are some people that are looking at the possibility of evictions looking at the possibility of losing their homes losing their cars losing their jobs there are over 200 000 people that have died of the coronavirus but you got to make up in your mind that i am not going to let the enemy take me out is anybody out there that believes that today i am not going to let the enemy get the upper hand but i'm going to speak the word of god god's word is alive can i say it like a feeling the word is alive the bible says that the word of god is sharper than any two-edged sword it is piercing it's dividing asunder joint and marrow amen it is a discerner of the thoughts did y'all hear what i said the word is a discerner of the thoughts and the intent of the heart when you think about it the holy ghost will know what you're thinking before you think it so you can ask god lord let the holy ghost regulate my mind i just stopped by to tell you today that he is a heart fixer and a mind regulator god is the source of our strength god is our helper and our keeper god is the source of our lives and so don't you feel defeated don't you feel overwhelmed don't you let the devil make you give up but this is not the time nor the place to give up but now you got to set your mind on christ on christ y'all forgive me i feel the holy ghost on christ the solid rock i stand and all of the ground is sinking sand if you're in trouble if you're down in your spirit i came to tell you that you gotta change your mindset you gotta say finally if my brethren whatsoever things are true and and and whatsoever things are honest and whatsoever things are just and whatsoever things are pure and whatsoever things are lovely whatsoever things are of good report if there be in his virtue and if there be any praise you got to think on these things don't you let the devil make you dwell on your past don't you let the devil make you dwell on defeat because the bible says that we are more than conquerors through him who loved us you are a winner you are a champion the best is yet to come there is a brighter day coming and it's going to get better sometimes sometimes sometimes it get worse before it get better but i stopped by to tell you to intercept these thoughts before they consume your mind you got to shut the devil down and say that the weapons of our warfare they are not carnal but they are mighty through who through god they are mighty through god listen to the pulling down of strongholds and casting down imaginations oh yeah the devil will let you imagine things he'll show you a portrait that'll turn into a video if you let him talk to your mind but you gotta cast it down and say that the devil is a lie i'm gonna think on the things that god has told me to think on i'm gonna to what paul's letter told me to do he said therefore listen you got to know finally my brethren you got to think on the things that's going to build you up and not tear you down things that's going to bring you joy and not bring you sorrow things that's going to make you healthy and not make you unhealthy you got to go into the new year with a new determination i've got a new yes no down on the inside there's a brighter day coming and while it's coming i'm going to say yes yes to the lord yes to your will and yes to your way yes to your word and yes all day do i have any witnesses that believe with me that there's a brighter day coming because god he will allow you to be renewed in the spirit of your mind you got to elevate your thoughts you got to elevate your soul god is going to restore your soul he's going to restore you back to your place in god this is your time this is your year this is your season oh yes somebody clap your hands with me and say oh yeah [Applause] somebody say oh yeah i'm going to tell them yes tell them yes yes y'all i just feel like praising her i said i feel like breaks and i feel like giving him glory i feel like giving god the praise now thanks be unto god who gives us the victory and calls it the answer to triumph christ jesus yes lord hallelujah somebody say hallelujah i remember a long time ago i heard a woman named sister diane and she was singing a song called jesus can work it out sister diane she said how are you going to pay your rent with all your money spent she said a little bit to buy some food and baby need a pair of shoes look you got a light bill dude and you got a gas bill too telephone disconnected waiting for your next paycheck but i tell you what you ought to do jesus will see you through jesus we'll work it out there's a brighter day coming he's going to work it out if you let him come on somebody she said that problem that i had could seem to pray i prayed i prayed i prayed and i prayed don't let it be too late then i turned it i said i turned it over to jesus [Music] i gave it over to the lord and he he worked it out yes diane said that pain that would not move as i prayed in the upper room that burden that i go saying lord how much more can i turn it i turned it over turned it over to jesus and i stopped worried about it i gave it over to the lord and he he worked it out yes he did wrap your hands up wherever you're watching and tell your neighbor in your house in tell them jesus is going to work it out i'm going to get better things are going to be all right i'll make it the same god that bought me yesterday he's going to bring me through he is a hot fixer mine regulator bird and bearer heavy little chair he is the lily of the valley he is give your life to jesus the bible says in romans chapter 3 verse 23 for all have sinned and come short of the glory of god listen we want you to know romans 6 and 23 the wages of sin is death but the gift of god is eternal life the bible says what does it profit a man he should gain the whole world and lose his soul listen i want to tell you today give your soul to jesus all you got to do is believe in your heart that god has raised him from the dead and thou shalt be saved confess with thy mouth the lord jesus recognize that jesus christ paid the price for our redemption i say to you all today open up your heart and give him your life repeat after me lord jesus i repent for every sin lord jesus i ask you to forgive me to touch me and to take away my sin and iniquity father i repent for everything i've ever done and i turn away from every sin today in jesus mighty name save me lord come into my heart and change me and help me to live my life for you father in jesus name i say to
