INTENSE BATTLE! 82 Pound Blue Catfish Chickamauga Dam

am in chattanooga i've only been here one other time and i came during the spawn well i wasn't catching jack squat in fort loudoun i figured i could go farther down river and maybe catch some fish that were maybe come off farther downstream because the waters typically heat up faster downstream well i ended up with two small catfish spent most of the day out here now it was spawned if i would have fished at home in fort loudoun i probably wouldn't have caught jack dooley's squat either way the bite wasn't hot it's no longer spawn it's the end of september we're getting into early fall lots of current flow we're at the time of the year they're releasing water from douglas lake and cherokee lake to start dropping them they drop them before they drop the lower lakes for winter pool well that gets this river flowing real nice either way i don't know all i know is there is some flow and i'm here for a better catfish dave show than what i got last time if i don't score a big fish before dark i'm probably going to stay after dark because i drove a good ways to get here and i am here for revenge so i'm seeing lots of something break around here i don't know what it is i don't know if it's that smaller fish i don't know if it's white bass or if it's skip jack i did bring a bait rod maybe i can score some fresh bait while i'm here always bring your bait rod with you people i'm gonna drink this gatorade and i'm going to find out what's breaking in the water there see if it's catchable let's see if i can figure out what's breaking in the water around here i'd like to see some fresh skipjack i'm a little far below the dam to be getting them in numbers i would think but who knows this section of the river if it has a lot more skipjack well you'll find them all the way down the river in my reservoir they're about wiped out [Music] there we go i got something oh yeah yeah yeah he actually got in the boat man oh he came off right as i got him in the boat it is skip jack that's good news we got bait always carry your bait rod with man they got some skipjack in this part of the river wish i lived around here [Music] oh [Music] yeah there we go doubles doubles you can see them busting everywhere so don't fish for it loud and damn for skipjack watchbar damn come down here to chickamauga they easy i ain't seen nothing like this since the 1980s now if we can just get the catfish to bite they probably will after dark either way i'm getting bait [Music] got him laying on the bottom of the boat i'll pick him up in a minute and these are those perfect size skip jet because they're big enough to be a good bait but yet small enough you could put the whole thing on there perfect size [Music] i haven't got my revenge yet but i have got some bait this is easy easiest skip jack i ever seen chickamauga easy easy skip [Music] all right y'all i'm going to continue to catch bait but i'm not going to put it on camera because i don't want to chew it my camera card time i'm saving it for my revenge on these catfish so probably stop the bait catching right here so i can save me some camera time [Music] i thought i was in chattanooga but there's some kind of major party going on over here and it sounds like i'm in little tijuana dag blasted i just can't get no peace here man now that pontoon boat that just left out of here they're just hanging out just downstream just downstream where i can't shine my light you got to be kidding me man all right y'all what's going on here is these idiots are gonna hang out downstream from me so i'm gonna have to leave my light off and when that gosh dang it [Music] and when my rod gets bent i'm going to turn the lights on and i'm going to blind them you think you get some peace out here on this river at night but you just ain't going to do it do what oh i i'm anchored down the river here it'd take me 10 minutes to pull my anchor and pull these rods in these crazy people over here they had some kind of ball going the river they want me to pull my anchor in and pull my rods in that i just got set up to get the stinking ball for them i'm glad the ball is in the river maybe some of this noise will quit dragon my lights went out it's a big fish and a lot of current big fish and a lot of current hey okay [Music] i can't wait to get this fish in so i can get out of chattanooga oh there goes my dang
