Left Behind Forever ~ Majestic Abandoned 18th Century Victorian Castle

[Music] welcome back everybody to the bros of dk i'm leslie and we just drove a thousand kilometers to an abandoned place this is an abandoned castle that we're gonna visit but as you can see it's night out it's literally three am at night let me show you it's 2 56 at night and we are in france at the moment tonight we're gonna sleep in an abandoned castle it's my first time ever sleeping in abandoned place so i'm really excited for this let's go check out this place okay you're ready for it because i see your face [Applause] so we found a place to sleep inside of the castle and i just set up my sleeping bag and everything and this place is literally amazing look at the bat that i'm seeing here in front of me this is by far one of the most incredibly designed beds and beautiful beds that i've ever seen in my life while exploring and i get the privilege of sleeping in this bedroom well let me show you this place at night before we view it during daylight it's very decayed already many years of abandonment are present in this place as you can see the whole ceiling is breaking down you ruin you look like a lord walking up to your bedroom really this is my bedroom what a place everybody oh the decay is very present in here and there's an eerie feeling walking in here at night truly eerie feeling i've never experienced something like this in my life i'm walking into some sort of a kid's bedroom over here oh the floor is cracking down i'm gonna go very carefully over here very carefully i think we ended up in the tower of the castle this is the tower with the bathroom inside wow ah this is literally a surreal experience sleeping in this place i i still can't wrap my head around it the remainder of the castle i will show you in the morning of course and the beautiful documentary that i'm gonna make about this place i think it's time to sleep right now it's almost four o'clock in the morning let's tuck myself in i wish you a wonderful night and i see you all in the morning probably at 10 a.m or something like that because i'm not gonna wake up early and i think he's not as well so bye bye see you all in the morning hopefully [Music] today we will go on a historical journey back into time [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so [Music] the story starts in the 18th century and played out over the last 200 years it's the story of the bully family [Music] a wealthy and influential french family who earned all their money to big agricultural companies that they had around the castle now many years later the last owner of this place bosu molly has passed away the castle has been dormant for a very long time we will take you today inside and show you everything these people left behind let's go on an adventure of a lifetime good morning everybody uh we just woke up and i literally fell asleep and woke up right now i didn't notice anything i thought i was going to wake up from sounds in the castle or something like that but no i slept like a little rose you ruined you awake did you sleep okay okay fantastic let's get up let's start this epic pokemon of course everybody this is an abandoned castle and i cannot explore a place like this in my normal clothing so again i brought my special attire for exploring the castle let's dress up [Music] i'd like that everybody i'm ready to explore this place so let's get on with the video [Music] welcome everybody into the castle of mr poster bully and i believe pursue was his surname so this was the castle of the family bosu since the 1800s this family lived in this incredible place and i'm gonna take you today on a tour throughout it and show you the beautiful artifacts and rooms that are left behind in here and oh just check this out the first room that we're standing in the grand living room is one of the most unique rooms i've ever seen in an abandoned castle just the design of it every single detail in this place they thought about and the first thing that grabs the attention in this room is for sure the wing piano that's standing here in the middle of the room fascinating piece just fascinating let's see if i can open it excuse me very much oh it does not want to open anymore it's still sort of blaze but it's very out of tune i have a chair in front of it where the owner miss you bully bully used to sit in front of the piano and play away at and into the night and then right next to it over here we have the big wall with all the bookcases this was a very literatured man he had a hotel empire as i believe i'm not 100 sure about that but lots of encyclopedias and lots of literature books see what we have in here the section some of these books are even going moldy by now after the 15 years that this place has abandoned okay here's a map of the natural parks of france here above the fireplace that's a very sad sight the wonderful painting that once was there is now decaying and molding away i hate to see things like this such beautiful places imagine this fireplace being lit up back in the day while he was playing on the piano a wonderful sight and when you look closely in the fireplace you can even see that the family crown is worked into it the tools of the fireplace are also still there these books to this side completely moldy i'm getting very sad of this side this was their one and only daughter that they had i don't know the name yet i hope to find out her name while going through this place she was a very beautiful girl back in the day wow this picture seems like it's from the 50s or 60s you can see it from the caller in there so she's probably at an advanced age right now i know that mr bossier bully has passed away at this point but his daughter might still be alive more books in here the wall paintings that they did in this place are just mesmerizing from the looks of it it looks like they depict doesn't seem like a french countryside more like greece or turkey yes of course or italian as you can see we can see a roman palace up there with a lake side behind it a man playing a harp wow fascinating what does it say on here offi adolescent asparagus okay some inscription on there opening the bookcases and they had this little stairs over here a piece of furniture that's shaped like stairs that even opens up for extra storage and that they could use to retrieve a book from a top shelf somewhere here wow that's how they used to do it back in the day i have to place it like this wonderful design and it takes us further underneath the archway in their dining area these people were only which were three people the mother the father and the daughter so that they didn't need a big dining area and we can see they had upholstery chairs underneath this table and you can see this is the family crest that we also saw in the fireplace it's just a crown just a golden crown but i truly believe this is the family crest because it's literally everywhere throughout the castle wow see this is why castles are different from houses every single room has its own design and they are uniquely crafted the furniture that's in here just fits the room fits the ceiling everything the color is on point and we have a broken piece a broken plate in there oh it's very very fortunate wow this place has been decaying for a long time the painting fell down from over there broke into pieces i hate to see that at some point i would also have been servers in this place servants and this is the trolley that they used to carry the food on it's very unstable at this point you can see some oil jars up here still some of the cutlery wow this is some fine guttery look at this the forks are made of brass uniquely designed and shaped probably handcrafted more of those paintings above there and i believe this is the fireplace wow the last ashes are still in here but they had this cover to conceal the fireplace fascinating uniquely designed faces as well up here no signature on them they're standing on this golden statue holder wow what a place everybody here again we have the same upholstery chest this one is the same as the one underneath the table and here we have a different kind of design with again the crown placed in the corner of the chair lovely [Music] let's go through this doorway but above it have a look at the painting with the flowers on there wow that takes us into another part of the castle and this is where the servants used to work back in the day you can see the design of it it's quite porish the woodwork is not painted in a very nice manner and then we enter into another bedroom and over here we actually have two beds but they only had one child so she probably was lucky and had two beds but maybe i assumed that it was like a child's bedroom because there was a stroller in here but you have a good point this might have been the workers bedroom yeah you can also see the bed frames they are made from iron not very fancy exactly exactly no very good point i think arun is right about this one but they still designed it quite nicely on walls with beautiful wallpaper and the curtains are still very nice normally in the castle you see workers bedrooms that are just yeah plain ugly as i should say it come in here have a look wow we have the fireplace over here but even they designed the fireplace as well with these hats in front of it beautiful carvings of these faces made from ironwork even a marble top above here wow maybe later on they transformed this into a guest bedroom after the servant stopped working in this place the blankets are in here now we have these two beds indeed where the workers used to sleep wow ooh they're quite wet lots of religious depictions above the bed as you can see jesus christ on the wall mariah to this side these people of course were very religious back in the day and in france is still one of the most religious countries in the world [Music] look at this chest there's nothing in there that has like this tapestry on top and beautiful wood craftings down below i had exactly the same radio at home when i was younger you would think like why did you have a radio like this but my uncle gave it to me it's a beautiful radio that i used to play a lot of music with i loved the style of it i loved the music that i played it was a fine radio i must say it was 60 to 70 years old when i got it so this one is probably even older right now i'm 23 right now so oh it's uphill street little box to put julian most likely and we have a pope up here this is really sad the dk in this place is happening at a very rapid pace this place is falling apart and i think it's already beyond repair i'm wondering why this stroller is in this bedroom this one is also falling apart but it used to carry the children around him back in the day but euron pointed out one more thing about the radiator here and in most rooms in this place actually all the rooms the radiators nicely worked away in the fine woodwork of the room but in this room again it's it's very visible the pipes are visible the electricity is visible and that tells us that this was workers room and even at this bell up here maybe if the owner wanted something he had any good bell i guess yep we're coming here into the kitchen area this was the storage part of the kitchen area tableaus to take things to the table lots of wine bottles of course in this place it's very important in a french castle but not much more to see in here let's head over to the main part of the kitchen and again not very fancy because the owner would never come in here this was not the place for him he would never come through this room and he would enter into the castle through a different room or to a different door so yeah just show them around let them see what we are seeing in here here the servants will cook up the meals for the for the owner you can see a very primitive stove this pot in here probably to boil water very black from the years that they smoked stuff in here the fire was burning these are to my belief waffle irons or maybe cookie irons i'm not 100 sure in belgium i would be sure that they were waffle irons because we are country of the waffles of course beautiful stove an exhauster does anybody know what this is i am not sure what we are seeing here totally not sure this was the entrance door for the workers to come into the place okay very interesting let's head further even a coat hanger hang some things up and then we go again in a part of the castle where yeah for the man himself for the bully himself wow this was the grand entrance hall of the place the stairway that leads up to the bedrooms and you can see a lot of antlers over here as well from his hunting adventures through the forests that are around that are around the castle of course hunting hats as well but me and your roon we're most interested with these chests we like this looks like these look like pirate chests with maps right next to it it's just blank oh i really want to see a treasure map there's nothing on there oh that's very sad nope nothing but a very cool sight to behold wow this hallway so incredibly fascinating [Applause] over here we have this backpack or this bag looks like something a businessman or a doctor would use back in the day i'm not sure how to open it i'm totally not sure no i'm not gonna even bother opening it then i both there you have more paintings for horse garage with lots of dogs and a hunter next to it [Music] more antlers up there and was this the front door of the place you can see this little load that i wrote and put onto here yeah euron points out this painting that i need to put to the side yes exactly here the owner would enter into the place this was his front door wow large very very large shutter in front of it there's one more thing i need to show here in the hallway and that are these wardrobes they're pretty stuck over the years here the owner would put his jackets and dig out his jackets of course when he went out of the house see there are still multiple coats and jackets in this wardrobe wow these look like for hunting wow very fascinating to see even the hats are still up here [Music] last night when we went to sleep in this place we heard heard multiple gunshots in the forests around here so that we're hunting so this is a spot for hunting of course you hear that as well right okay let's now take a stroll at this beautiful stairway to the top floor of this place [Music] wow look at this enormous antler here on the wall this was probably his proudest possession and his proudest trophy from hunting from a former hunting career there are even more antlers up here [Music] let's now go further to the top floor of the place and the first room that we end up in is this little hallway a little cozy hallway the first thing that i notice in here are these curtains to either side and you can close them like this oh no there's no railing for it why are these curtains here maybe just for a static design [Music] place them back like this wow a little share that to the corner where you could sit and relax probably not used very often again up here you can see the decay is very very present look at the state of this chair wow completely falling apart and even the statues these wooden statues of these ladies her hand has broken off she was holding something back in the day [Music] we got a mask gipps mask it's not a mask actually it's just a statue but i'm calling it wrong wonderful painting above it from a man sitting in a beautiful position this was how you take a portrait back in the day and then what we have over here is also very fascinating these were coupons or action builder auction billiards no these are for auction i think yeah [Music] 1984. this you would take to an auction and then you could place them on your items we even have this group picture over here [Music] look at these noble people that are on here and the desk that we are standing in front of is actually an accountancy desk you can close it up like this and people used to do their accountancy back in the day on these pieces of furniture even a spinning wheel to this side it still turns well [Music] projector we put film rolls in here and you could project them on a wall but what's most fascinating over here is this collection of perks that you collected over the years look at the very small but also very big ones that are in here oh i love this one the most it seems like a golden one you see it on the camera oh yeah these don't open up no they don't let's place it back nicely they're even more over here and they all have their own description on them and then this one this look like it looks like a butterfly a very big one also a ball with a they get worn in with a hatch wonderful it's actually not wallpaper it's sort of a carpet a tapestry where they could even work the electrical behind many many rooms in this castle of course back in the 1800s people these families were very large later on of course they diminished and vanished over time but they had multiple bedrooms in this place and this again used to be a child's bedroom as you can see still made after the years the pillow is still there we got these plates on the wall with faces carved into them and again probably of former owners of this place that's that's something they do in resp and france to give respect to your ancestors it's very common to again have your own washing table in the room shaving equipment still here [Music] down below we have a little bitte a little yeah it's a bit there but a very primitive one i love this little piece of furniture wow more religious symbols and over here i found out the name and lots of the things of the family on this table i'm of course not going to show those letters in depth because you can figure out the location from them but this is a handwritten latin letter with nothing that reveals something of the family on here so we have a handwritten letter from back in the day holding it in our hands over here [Music] let's now go further upstairs here that's a very big mess watch out for the mirror here on the floor okay we're now coming into a bedroom that's right above the workers bedroom as you can see again two beds but these one are slate bats very beautiful bats the other ones downstairs were iron bats and not very beautiful and as well you said it the radiator over here it has like this wooden plank on top of it makes for a nicer appeal a nicer design you can see a colonel from the french army above the fireplace i love his mustache that he has wow oh when you're standing in front of a fireplace in this room you can see the light from outside shining in maybe i should turn off the light that the people can see this the light from the chimney shines right into the fireplace over here wow i will turn it on for you again okay this takes some time yeah there we go the mirror above the fireplace again very nice love these boxes and we have this diploma above here it's not a diploma actually it's again something of an auction or tickets for a venue something like that what's that behind the chair we have this rocking chair here in front of it but i want to check out what's behind here can you please down the camera and help me please place it on the table so people can still see it yes what's this piece [Music] oh yes it's a brown car we call it in dutch but i forgot to name what it is in english but this one it's like an emergency bed where you can take somebody that's probably fainted somewhere on the battlefield or on the soccer field to the emergency room and this is a very old school design that we have over here it even has some feet on either side so you can place it down you see this you can place it on the floor but yours doesn't have it anymore what a beautiful find everybody yes exactly it looks like military indeed it looks very military wow i love this one and of course the rocking chair that was behind it that was in front of it as well and you can even see these boots here in the corner of the room military boots what a piece did we just find i really love it yes we placed it back nicely over here in the corner this place like we found it it's very important while you're exploring this rocking chair is so amazing and now we have these two green bats actually with green sheets on it but these are slate bats very heavy duty wooden beds like we don't make them anymore nowadays love the style of them this nightstand the rubble is just falling on it from the ceiling oh the beauty box for a lady with a feather in there wow the jewelry would be out would be down below here you can see another color now from the army up here as you can see but again a very nice mustache and then they even had this bench this chasse long bench it's not exactly a chest along it's more like a sofa as you can call it but again with the green design everything in this room matches each other it's very nice an oil lantern over here in the 1800s when this castle was built people would walk around the castle at night with this oil lantern can you imagine this are the children asleep yes they are about in their bed and then yeah you just go around like this but now it doesn't get used anymore of course wow down there we have sort of an iron bathtub as you can call it where the children would be washed back in the day little toy a child probably made in school wow and then we are entering into the tower of the castle where the ballroom is we're standing now in the castle tower that you saw from the outside even everything is still left behind in here all the perfumes from back in the day as you can see this hair restore it says on here you get it at the pharmacy it has english inscription and french inscription on there these balls look so vintage wow nobody has used this bathroom in a very long time there's even a bought rope on the wall there before we show you this room i want to show you the balcony that's out here these people of course had a balcony attached to that room wow can come outside once what once used to be a lush castle garden is now completely overgrown and here they could sit in the morning have a nice cup of coffee and overlook that property wow this was the tower here behind us here we can see it from the outside very beautiful i don't want to rip my clothes now we have another bathroom this one is not very fancy i'm not going to go in depth on this one i want to show a few things this wall clock project made in belgium and then we have this vintage heater here on the nightstand that i quite a door look at this power socket this is the end of it wow okay and this is again a slate bet still made after all those yes like i always say let's venture into the bathroom because because this is way more interesting have a look at the design of this bathroom completely made with blue tile and blue curtains that close the bathtub they don't function anymore but what a wonderful piece of design we have here in front of us even the soaps would be on display at the end here in these files why is there a timer on the toilet is this the time how long you have been in the bathtub i don't know and there's even a shower hat attached in the sink maybe to wash your hair in the morning never seen things like that before wow you have to look at attention of detail in this bathroom every single thing even this one has blue the scrubber has blue this holder has blue the toilet brush holder is designed in the same way that's just the attention of details that these people had in these castles even the oil lamps are made in the same way oh there are two butterflies in this room can we perhaps release them i'm gonna open the window for them so they can fly out and be free again okay let's leave them behind oh watch out the lamp and here we entering into another bedroom and i believe this was the daughter her bedroom because the first thing you see in here is a picture of her above the bed it's the same picture that we saw downstairs but here she's a little bit older beautiful bedroom as you can see still made bad but again that again here very very present she also had a fireplace in her room she would light up at night a little jewelry box with a woman attending a child oh there's even a little necklace of her still left in here wow above there we can see the pond of the castle with the castle in the background painted right in our room worked into the wall now we have all these books standing here in this book wrecks le pepe she was a big fan of this rider as you can see they're all the same a desk to study at she probably went to school she would make her homework right here but now the spider webs are completely taking over and even the veins are growing inside a little hallway not very interesting but that leads up to a higher section of the building and yet again another bedroom everybody another bedroom i hear you thinking yes it is not going to go in depth on this one as well because it's not very interesting but there's something i see over here a painting of a woman on the wall not sure who that is or would that represent in the household we also have this telephone standing here on the desk wow still clothes in a wardrobe woo a nerd would leave clothes behind in a wardrobe that question i have been asking myself for the last five years that i've making have been making these videos it's just crazy that people leave all this stuff behind horse love it oh and this is a sketch of the notre dame before it burned down still with the spire on there beautiful beautiful church i never had the chance to visit it actually even though i live so close to france here we have another bathroom this one is completely made with wood organo halls wow okay but now behold yourself everybody because we're going into the one of the most spectacular rooms of this entire place let me open this one this door and this is actually the room that we came for to this beautiful castle [Music] can you believe you ruined that we slept in this room last night we were just discussing it it's crazy but this was the master bedroom of the place mr bolly used to sleep in here probably together with his wife this must be one of the most fascinating bats i've ever seen in my career of exploring abandoned places look at this masterpiece just fascinating but for some sort of weird reason the whole bed is covered with some sort of a chunk i don't know what it is but i'm not gonna touch it even looks like yeah i don't actually know what it looks like poop from animals maybe [Music] the face of an angel is worked into the crown of the bat wow the woodwork on this one is just fascinating have you seen inside of here wow that must have been a sight waking up in a room like this we actually did it last night so it was it was very wonderful oh again we have another one of those vintage radios on the nightstand right next to the bed wow does this open up this is a very big nightstand you can store a lot of things in here wow what do we have over here this is a breeding mask yes it is let's close that up even the curtains match the style of the bed wow beautiful chair upholstery chair right next to it here and let's see if they still have clothes left in their closet oh no it's actually not a closet for clothes more for appliances everything is labeled in here we even have cassettes from back in the day left here what's this is this some sort of a radio player he looks like or an mp3 player maybe made in hong kong you don't see many things anymore made in hong kong everything is made in china this is a journal that depicts the revenue universal universal revenue probably a finance book and it costed 50 francs back in the day in 1920 this journal is from 1922 100 years ago wow oh i love the sofa here in the corner of the room beautifully upholstery as you can see wonderful piece and it has this umbrella on top of it and this is what the ladies used to carry around with them all the time around the gardens of the castle through the towns because they didn't want to get it being white back in the day was supreme if you they would protect themselves from the sun with these kind of umbrellas wow now everybody wants to have a sun like a bee tanned and stuff like that but that back in the day being white was seen it's very classy here we have a desk and the inkjars would be in this piece of furniture then this artifact even have a pen still left behind that you could dip into the ink and write on a piece of paper with beautiful box oh this is a fire screen oh this is to hide the radiator they had this heat screen in front of it oh oh this pulls out wow i did not even notice you can take it out i think this uses stand here in front of the radiator all the time wow there's filling behind here i don't know what it is it's no wallpaper it's very different beautiful there's one more thing i need to show you in this oh excuse me for before i go look at the candle that's on here the lamp and everything now we'll go back into the hallway and we'll take you to the last level of the house and that's the attic a place where the memories of the people were stored and where we're probably gonna see a lot of things well this looks like one big junkyard look at this oh we see more of his insect collection here on the end on the attic we have a butterfly two butterflies actually here is another one of his insect collection whoa they deteriorated all the animals in here i want to go to this side first lots of candle holders and artifacts that they used to be have inside of the castle are now all stored here on the attic if an antiques dealer would come on this attic i think you would go crazy oh my god oh it's very hot up here oh this is interesting we have numerous paintings on top of here but this seems like the relief of the alps of the french alps you can see some lakes down here then the mountain sides and down below it we have paintings wow these look like the mayas this is a pool table oh yes it is look at this there is a pool table here on the attic there's no top on it anymore wow so many things a bad frame to this side dismantled and put here on the attic probably been here for hundreds of years no not hundreds but for a very long time i want to give you another glimpse into the backyard oh a cool breeze that's good and i still saw this room here at the end let's go into it because this is some sort of a storage room the first thing that i notice is one of the child's toys wow what is this kind of an animal oh this was a cow look at this and i put these iron wheels underneath it for the children to play with wonderful wonderful oh it's even a chest oh my god this was the costume chest to dress up for the children oh that's so cool here the children would play with back in the day oh i'm gonna place the cow in here what do we have over here some labels that's for playing it says over there so probably we have some things for the children up there as well oh look at this little pieces of furniture for the children to play with look at this lamp caps we have over here ping pong wow fascinating to find these things even tennis rackets to the side okay skis oh wow skis behind there some skills and then things for the kitchen are down there yes let's go outside right now [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh what a fantastic exploration everybody we're now standing outside of the castle in front of the lake on the perimeter of the castle in the distance over there you can see it and absolutely amazing so i want
