hi guys my name is sean i'm a house plant enthusiast from jakarta indonesia i'm here at a hoya nursery in indonesia and i'm going to be meeting up with the owner to look at the collection it's actually my first time here so i'm gonna show you some of the collections that he have and maybe get some care tips and all that good stuff so let's get started here's the entry of the nursery and i'm already feeling very very happy and there's actually a lot of vines in the way which i really like like i have to literally move things away everything's trying to grab my hair and yeah it's totally wild i love this about hoyas so yeah this is mr pandika he's the owner hello um foreign [Music] oh [Music] okay yeah very very interesting it's very rare here in indonesia then yeah um wow interesting yeah i keep mine in sphagnum moss and i keep it moist mine is still young so maybe it's the roots near bloom i may have to adapt adult formula yeah wow this is this is actually very fat i have this but uh thin version um look at the new growth here nice so this one caught my eye this is so pretty and if you feel it it's a little bit fuzzy i really love everything about it look at the new growth quite interesting there's something around the rims of the leaf if you look at it there's a black frame i just saw that this is so nice here's a pot of gold and this is on my wish list so i'm going to check it out later to see if i can afford it it's very pretty yeah i'm going to check it out so i have a question foreign across all species here yeah yeah okay so guys if you want to keep your hoyas for your foliage you can probably cut it i'm not gonna recommend it's up to you but if you cut it off you'll have less chance of flower but you'll have closer growth and you're near the pot this is so pretty look at this oh my god this is again the yadi aya nice hoya just makes my day look at this new baby baby growth here amazing healthy yeah this is looking very nice this is uh oh my god this is so pretty fairness and the leaves are very very sharp on the edges so freaking nice okay so i'm gonna bring you guys for a quick tour around this place i'll be back don't worry if you don't get to see everything today i will be back here and as usual i don't remember or know all the names of the hoya so i'm i will ask mr pandika for the plan id which i'm going to include on the screen and if you guys happen to see something interesting do give it a shout out on the comments down below so let me start let me see i don't even know where to start i'm going to start right here in this alley see what i can find here so this is a hoya finlandsonii very very similar to the callistophyla and i may pick up one of these small cutting of these because i keep confusing the two so i want to have some in my home so i know how to differentiate between them this is so pretty this is a beautiful dishidia this is a disciplia embricata maybe okay that's the flower this is really well attached to the pot they're hugging each other this is so wild i'm loving this i have a small one of these but it's not that big and up here this really caught my eye so this is actually a epiphylum vijay kuzuma in local words this is a jungle cacti and it does flower if i'm not wrong this is also very pretty i really love the loops around it i'm sorry this is a hoya video i don't need to digress but there are quite a lot of tiny little parts of them and when you look around and see this is so overwhelming this place is so nice look at this one this is beautiful it's got really reptile like leaves and i want to be careful when i touch the leaves i don't want to break any baby leaves but here's the baby leaf um yeah this is a beautiful shape hoya very nice i believe this one is the kalisto filer this time really nice there's a hoya carry eye splash very very slow grower i'm not sure what this is but this is really pretty look at the specs on these it looks like bird pooped on it but it's a beautiful beautiful speckles this one is nice as well i've seen this around i can't remember the name of this very pretty this one particular leaf really called out to me and i don't know what this one is but it's got a really beautiful black rim around the leaves very very nice it's got this lacunosa vibes to it but it's bigger than the lacrinosa so this is very very nice and in case you haven't noticed i like hoyas for their leaves although the flowers are really spectacular this is really pretty look at this loop hello it's trying to reach out to us yeah hoyas are really really wild they try to grab onto each other and other plants they lasso themselves up the canopy it's really spectacular how they they have adapted to do that that's a really really huge uh possibly a macrophylla it's really it's probably as big as my face and then look around some more yeah there's also more macrophylla this one i caught my eye this is also a microphylla but it's got this really cool uh growth pattern with like coming down and around if you know what i mean very pretty they're very very fast growers i used to have mine flower every month but ever since i moved it somewhere with slightly less bright it stopped flowering for me so this is just so br this is pretty new this leaf over here this baby leaf caught my eye i believe that this is a hoya imperialist this is actually on my wish list too um the leaves are not perfect on these but i i don't know i may want to check off this one see how much it costs because it's on my wish list it's one of the bigger leaf toys i if i'm not wrong the flowers are pretty small but i'm just i can't get over the baby leaf here look at that it's putting out i don't know four leaves at the same time this is so nice trying to take in the whole space look at this oh it's very humid in here and i'm surprised because there's a shade cloth here and i thought that hoyas like a little bit more brightness but apparently this is a really good condition for them they do get really bright light all day but it's very very indirect i guess i must have been abusing my hoyas because i do give them some direct sunlight sometimes depending on the species this is a beautiful hoya caudata very very pretty look at the leaves i've got one of these and it's i guess it's grown pretty well it's not slow it's not fast just happy doing it it's just a very chill hoya it's not very demanding of your attention and this one right here this is pretty nice too look at the small things have baby leaves very nice oh yeah retusa i don't know why every time i see one i have to touch it i have to talk to it there's something pretty about the mine is growing really slowly i guess i haven't gotten the care down right and this one's a really really fat really fat leaves and really thick trunk i want to get mine this way but i haven't found the right conditions yet i've grown them in lower light higher light but i seem to keep over watering or underwatering them and here is a it's a bridge between the hoya retusa and i believe this is i don't know pubic alex yeah there's a bridge here for ants and mealybugs maybe very cute okay so the camera was not focusing before but look at this tackle shape thing this is so sick it's trying to find something to to grab onto to stick on to but it hasn't found it yet so these are all these uh cute top cuttings uh yeah i don't know what to make of it they look like cows grazing in a in in a sea of grass but they're just so beautiful and the ones that were taken from the forest they're a little bit beat up but these ones that are grown in nursery conditions they're very very pristine conditions very pretty this is really interesting look at this one this it's heart-shaped and it's flowering too very pretty hello look at all that retusa over here and here and over there they look like wild grass they make really good hanging baskets and when they flower it's really pretty they have these tiny tiny flowers but you do notice them and they're very easy to propagate so if you're into propagating things the hoya retusa is one that is really fun i'm not sure what this is this is very pretty i think it feels a little bit thicker than the macrophylla but it could be in a microphylla i'm not sure look at how thick this is oh my gosh this is so pretty i'm going to pat it all day i don't want to leave here let's see what's back there i don't know there's that oh yeah again this is so pretty it's a baby leaf this is a classic sign of being sun stress and over here the shade cloth is actually a little bit less thick so maybe they do get a little bit of direct sunlight here very nice i really don't know what these are this is not the microphyll of sugar thicker and it's got these beautiful fat round leaves i need to find out what this is check out this huge crazy part of the hoya cartesia hey every time i do a hoya tour video i always have to stop and admire these because this is really really an underrated hoya it's very succulent like leaves and there's these textures along the leaves very fun to pat and the splash is just gorgeous and i've never seen a pot this full before i've only seen them in smaller pots i can't wait to get mine this big hopefully someday um nice on a tree the same way that if nature has intended look at that look at how it's growing beautiful it just hangs down kind of it's very beautiful it looks like like fruits hanging down almost so pretty yeah i've been doing it all wrong because i grow it in a pot so it looks much better when it's hung up like an epiphany a hoya chelsea in person i'm so happy so excited very pretty wow from indonesia down here yeah easy so we're in mr pandika's home and this is his backyard imagine having coffee over here just waking up every morning to this this is pretty amazing this is really hoya goals so yeti over here and this is a species that we saw earlier is actually so striking and this light very peaceful place so we're home from the shopping trip thank you so much mr pandika for showing us your beautiful hoyas here are some of the ones that i ended up getting i'm new to this i don't mind if i butcher the client id sahoya delos dolly caspari delicious party yeah and this is really really pretty i'm very happy to bring you home there's the hoya packer clutter this is the really cute one with the slightly fuzzy leaves very very thick succulent-like leaves i ended up getting a small version of these there's a hoya imperialist white which we showed at the tour with the baby leaf however there was a little bit of bruising as you can see there's some white sap here hopefully the leaf will unfurl properly it's just collateral damage when you're moving hoyas around and here's the hoya macrophylla pot of gold and this is the one that has the variegation on the inside compared to the regular variegated hoya microphylla and here we have the hoya ma07 this is the one we saw in the tour as well with the black rim around the leaves this one seems to like a little bit more sunlight next we have the hoya m820 this one has the silver speckles so these two hoyas actually sum up what we learned today about hoya and light when you have hoyas with dark rims or black rim around the edge of the leaves they really love sunlight and hoyas with speckles and if you want to encourage more of these specs do give them less bright light and avoid direct sunlight and that's really interesting summary of today's lessons and next up here we have a hoya macrophylla i'm not sure there's a it's a different variant of this i forgot the name but it's very different from the regular microphile and this is just so cute it's got really chubby leaves and i love having these i think this is the one that i petted at the nursery actually and here we have the hoya buntak very cute look at that leaf there it's just closing in on in on itself very very kind he's got this beautiful purple and he showed me some specimen where the new leaf is almost silver it's a green and silver well this one is purple and red and what it's telling me is that this plant may be a little bit sun-stressed and if you keep it away from sunlight you're gonna get that silver speck so i may actually propagate this plant when it's ready so i can just put a new vine here so that i can get one version with silver specs that is grown in lower light and one with this beautiful purple red sun stress that's going to be grown in a little bit of direct sunlight thank you so much for watching i hope that you guys found some really beautiful hoyas today i know that i did i definitely splurged i'm at botanist on instagram if you want to dm me and any questions regarding plan care propagations i'll try my best to get back to you meanwhile do take care and stay safe i will see you in the next episode bye
