greetings captains I am Wizard and welcome to my first ever Starfield Outpost home base build this is Indigo Ridge and it is located on schinger 8A if you didn't see my uh Outpost planetary locations video I recommend you check that one out this was one of the locations uh that I showcased in that video uh but there are many plan that are either more Lush or even more beautiful than this location believe it or not I like this planet for the blue palm trees and other uh more deciduous looking trees that you can see in these shots uh it also has some very vibrant uh kind of violet colored U plants as well uh along with this the gas giant that this Moon orbits uh is often visible in the the sky box and uh I just think it is an absolutely spectacular place to build a nice Oasis uh away from all of the commotion of the settled systems this video took me a very long time to film and edit and uh not only that but being my first Homebase build uh had to do a lot of experimentation in the process uh so the uh build footage for this is pretty chopped up and I uh wish I could have avoided that but that was just the nature of it for this one I'm sure in the next one I'll have a much better idea of what I'm doing beforehand and uh I won't have to do it all in chunks such as I did for this one couple of the things I wanted for this build were uh an extensive Armory a sort of separate kind of private living area and then more of a common area area to The Outpost as I intended to assign some crew members to this location as well as just being a home base so here's a quick look at the Armory that I built uh it was partially inspired by the scene from The Matrix where Neo asks for guns lots of guns and I think it turned out pretty cool although there's not quite as many rows of shelves as in the movie um this also has uh a couple of cargo links that are bringing helium uh and that is for the ability for uh Venum fuel rods to be sent here that I can just grab quickly if I need to go restock and I don't want to spend any of my hard-earned credits doing so so let's get into this build I hope you guys enjoy this one if you are new to my channel welcome uh if you are looking for a new location for a home base check out my Outpost guide playlist there you can also learn how to build a Venia mine at level 14 that will produce all the credits you'll ever need you can also check out my growing list of ship builds at My Starship archive playlist ranging from Level 14 all the way through and above level 60 I also have some gameplay guides uh one being Ship boarding and capturing with no suppressors as well as a mission guide on how to get the Razor Leaf if you've not found that yet check out my general gameplay guide playlist and I also have an FPS combat progression series that I have started and I intend to continue on check out the becoming a god playlist to see how your character can go from no skills to all the skills build requirements for an outpost like Indigo Ridge you'll need to be at a minimum of level 14 so that you can acquire rank three of outpost engineering as far as materials go I used a lot of the basic building uh materials and some of the more rare ones as well I would recommend stockpiling things like iron and aluminum and building some adaptive frame um as well as a decent supply of things like titanium and tungsten copper Etc uh you will also need some very rare materials so I would recommend going and buying everything you can from the good resource material vendors that are out there if you haven't watched my planetary location video I will show you where to find the schinger system if you are interested in building on this Moon Moon as well go roughly to the middle of your star map and basically just behind CCS um pretty far away from the camera will be shring her once you find it the moon we are going to build on today is Schrodinger 8A so find the gas giant Schrodinger 8 and locate the nearest moon to that when I got here my favorite biome was the tropical forest and it's even better if you get close to the coast so here is the exact location where I am building if you want to find this spot I'm sure you can find some more beautiful locations than I did I didn't look that hard uh but I did go uh south of this Lake that you see here and I found a coastal tropical forest coast uh location before we get into the build here is a quick overview of the location that I chose to build at I found this quaint little Hilltop that offers incredible views in all directions uh it even overlooks the ocean and on the opposite side you have the beautiful gas giant that this Moon orbits you can see that I have already built my landing pad with ship buer and a couple of cargo links that I intend to use those are of course optional if you need them go ahead and build them uh for a home base it's um something I debated because I wanted a very peaceful um environment at my home base but once you're inside a Hab unit you hardly even hear the cargo ships for your cargo links so you can see the build zone is mostly occupied by the top of this little Hill which is of course perfect for building an expansive Bas on but the build limit is taken up mostly by uh Hab units as you will see to start this uh first thing I wanted to do was uh connect an air lock directly to the landing pad if you position this close enough and in the right way you can see there that the game removes the stairs and deletes the railway rail Railway deletes the railing that um you would otherwise have to jump over uh if you place this air lock over on the walkway part of the landing pad over there to the left so take your time and position this air lock keeping in mind uh which direction you want to build in from it and if you get it just right you can basically have a seamless connection to your landing pad once you have placed it go into first person view and just give it a quick walk over and make sure there's not too much hitch in the gidy up so for me I wanted to uh build an Armory that was kind of inspired by the mantis's Lair so straight off of the airlock I have a stairwell Hab and then another one to the left and to that I connected a large hex Hab that is going to serve as the Armory space as you will see in the tour it is a pretty large interior space and I really like the openness um speaking of openness that was one of my major considerations as I was building this was to have uh views in all directions 360° of breathtaking views of the uh beautiful tropical forest biome here and I missed my small hex habab underneath of that Hydroponics Hab this is one of those cases where these Habs stack it's a pretty finicky thing to do uh but this one works every time so if you want to do something that's two stories easiest way to do it is a small hex Hab with a round Hydroponics Hab above it and you will need a stairwell Hab to uh to place both of those but these stack easily and I found that it works every time um by the way this is a completely vanilla build so those of you on Console can do everything that you see me do here um no mods at all and no glitches um everything is completely vanilla so here I did a small science Hab um but underneath of that I also want to build Hydroponics Hab one of the square ones because those also stack very easily on top of each other that air lock I just placed I end up removing later so you don't really need to put that down if you're trying to replicate this build um one of the major features that I wanted other than some openness and great views was a bridge feature so I went with uh four units long and uh connected these to Hydroponics Habs once you get across there build a stair then build your lower level um Hab and then put your Hydroponics Hab back on top no problem I wasn't happy with the way the science hallways looked on the outside uh I was looking for something a little more solid so I decided to just switch those to the military version and these are also very clean looking on the inside now when you are placing things uh you use the triggers to rotate them but when you are using the Triggers on snapping points it basically just switches between snapping points so if you want to actually rotate the module you are trying to place you need to pull it away from anything that it's snapping to and rotate it that way move it back into place I'm going to move this stairwell that we placed already uh just to take further advantage of the view in the direction that it was in I would rather place a couple rooms off of that side and have the stairwell be facing this direction the other combination of easily stackable Habs is a Hydroponics Hab B underneath of a science Hab small these two go really well together and the small science Hab almost looks like some kind of a futuristically designed white roof uh with a floor it's just all glass underneath of it really like the way that combination looks and then the only room that I have left to built here is the kitchen and I'm also going to use a science Hab small for that and the reason you don't see me uh building the vertical wall versions of those science Habs is because the lighting tends to bug out on the walls that you change to be windows in those Hab units I don't know if that's been patched but I still experienced it when I cut this footage so I just avoided using them so here's going to be the kitchen and again I'm going to use a science head small because I'm kind of going going for a sort of a a clean sort of a sterile looking kind of a galley uh looking kitchen sort of uh almost like a bridge between a ship's Galley and uh what I would imagine a large space uh Outpost looking like so putting that here that's going to be the kitchen again and that is effectively uh the the structure all done now off camera I've also built a few um storage crate barricades I'm going to do more of that in a minute but here I'm going to quickly place the Hydroponics Hab underneath of this science Hab I was trying to decide what to do here you can also see I've placed that Watchtower but I don't like how close that is to the rest of the structure I'm going to build something that looks a lot better in just a second so there's our main structure now let's take this Watchtower and uh make it kind of a standalone centerpiece out here I did want it to look kind of like a a flight control tower for the landing pads uh but in the end I just decided that it looked better out here so now we have more of our build space used up and it kind of gives it a more complete uh I think a more realistic look having something built out here versus just clustered right in that one area and then we have those beautiful trees in between what is going to be our Watchtower and our Reactor with its control room out here so here's the advanced reactor and this is one of the things that you unlock with Outpost engineering rank three and of course if you max out that skill this will cost half of the materials that you see on screen here and just so you guys know the reason I didn't give you a full materials list is because um it's unlikely that you're going to build exactly what I do you may not have the same things available and for the most part uh you can see in the footage and get sort of an estimate of how many materials you may need for your build mostly like I said before it's the basic materials but for something like this Advanced reactor you do need some pretty high ticket building resources uh to get this thing put down and of course the skill for it so you can see right next to it I've got a military H with an airlock and that is going to be decorated like a control room for the reactor but I'm also going to use it as kind of a one room living quarters for a crew member uh to kind of make them you know appear as kind of the uh the reactor technician the uh what's that called the resident reactor technician out here I guess so you'll see that in the tour now here I'm just placing some more storage crates and uh I just wanted to show if you're building these on a slope you got to start at the highest point and then obviously once you get beyond that or past it building building off of it to a certain point the game's going to tell you your foundation is too high uh so it takes a little bit of trial and error uh but just be patient and uh you'll find the right alignment and location for what you need in this case I wanted this kind of to look uh protected from the two sides where it's most exposed and then just to Jazz up the entrance of the Watchtower I decided a couple of the basic wind turbines would look really cool on each side of this entrance I really wanted to put this military grade scan booster on one of the roofs of the um Hab modules I was going to put it on top of the large hex Hab over there but it doesn't work on the roof so went ahead and also placed the advanced scan booster on the roof of the Armory here for me I just love the uh elements that we have to build with that have some sort of an animation so anything like that I just think is really cool for the um illusion of activity at your outposts so now I am just building some more storage unit barricades and I do intend to fill these so I am choosing the warehouse uh variants for a reason here you can of course use the large ones if you wish um often times I just use the medium ones because they hold half what a large one does but they also take up half of the space and use exactly half of the materials so really it's just up to you and how many you want to actually place down maybe it alleviates the build limit if you do the large ones instead but uh I haven't tested that myself these really don't take up much build limit uh hardly at all so in this situation this corner was a bit tricky but uh I was able to use the small Warehouse units to close this up and uh from the outside you can't even tell these are a different size so this worked out pretty well and uh I like this solution with the storage barricades completed I decided to Jump Around The Outpost and add some exterior lighting to kind of complete the look as well as turrets at all of the entrances you can see there I had one of these solar domes on top of uh the reactor control room but I found that they emit sort of an annoying uh humming sound and I decided to to just remove that to me I felt like there was enough uh animated objects already placed that I could sacrifice that one and alleviate the sound that it made in that habitat so with the lighting complete I decided to see how it felt walking from the main part of the base out here to the Watchtower and once I did that I decided it needed a few light posts so I went ahead and placed these along this sort of a I guess you could call it a path I really wish we had some exterior or outdoor things like paths and platforms that we could place uh but I just chose kind of the natural clearing through the trees here in the middle and I think these really helped to kind of just connect the two areas and make them feel more like the same place so that is the build completed and now we can furnish this Outpost here is a detailed overview of the completed build when we get into the Furnishing uh I'm not going to show every step of the process instead I'm going to build in uh the parts of the Furnishing that were any more complex than simply placing an object there are two areas on the interor interior in which this is going to be required one being the shelves for the weapons in the Armory and the second being the control room uh Central core in the first small hex Hab there please enjoy these overview shots and the tour is coming up [Music] soon [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so instead of showing you a sped up version of every single Furnishing that I placed I'm going to take you on a tour of the furnished Outpost and I'm going to show you in detail how I managed to put together certain of these Furnishings uh more like little miniature builds of themselves so let's go in our very first airlock that we built to start and we come into what I would call like a mudroom it's sort of just like a general entry area and and one theme that I went with throughout this was to place many many plants of course if you're locked in a a hermetically sealed environment with human beings they are going to produce CO2 so the more plants you have in here the more natural oxygen production you would have as well and I think that just makes sense now coming into the stairway off of the entry stairway again on the upper level I've placed uh lot of plants and the lower level of this one is meant as my first Outpost crew members personal area that's the crew station there that's what allows you to assign uh NPCs to your outposts and then I just tried to make it look utilitarian um and just kind of simple and basic so here we have the Armory and I'm going to to show you how I put the shelves together there but I also kind of wanted to make this sort of a another utilitarian kind of Commons area there's Lynn think she's enjoying her accommodations and here are my Matrix inspired Armory weapon shelves and racks and I even have a shooting range in here so this was something that I wanted from the beginning so let me show you how I put all of this together starting with this wall facing The Landing Pad uh for the shooting range of course I need a place to put my Target and I didn't want to just have that sitting in the open Hab unit so using a couple of military hallways this made for a perfect backing to the shooting range here so my goal with this is to have uh all of my workbenches uh opposite of this shooting range so that way I can do any tinkering that I want and then turn right around and uh test my modifications right here and I can only do two halls of course if if you're replicating this you can do as many or as little as you want um but two was all I could fit there and then once I popped outside really quick to check and see how it looked it definitely looks like it's floating so just using the um solid storage units I just wanted to make that look supported there so I put those there just for you know looking like it's supported not floating out there so there we have it there's our shooting Lane and now of course we need a Target so I decided to use a just a mannequin back here and I just wanted a nice conservative non-controversial pose just use one that you know nobody will have an issue with [Music] [Music] perfect now with that complete to build the shelves themselves I I decided to use rows of these white they almost look like futuristic folding tables um but my plan here is to fill this up as you saw with as much storage as possible so wanted a table I could put stuff underneath on top of and build the Shelf walls on top of as well so of course in the middle surrounding the shooting Lane just a single row of tables on each side and then for the next rows uh was rows of two tables so that I could build the Shelf walls display walls uh on the seam between the two so then it's just a matter of lining up these office desk partitions and uh don't do like I did here and use the single ones because there are double length variants of these that make it uh much quicker to place these I realize that right here there they are that's better so place these all along your Inside Edge on each side of the shooting [Music] Lane and once you have those in place then you want to do the same thing on each side but this time you're going right on the seam between the two rows of tables so when you're done you should have something like this and once your walls are built you can start placing your weapon racks I tried using the short and wide variation of this and I was going to stack them up uh double height but they didn't quite work right next to each other so I just used the tall ones then a mannequin at the end of each of the outer shelves table at the end of the shooting Lane there to kind of close it off and crammed a bunch of storage crates underneath all the tables once that was done I just covered the tabletops with weapon cases and that is complete I also put a dart board behind the target mannequin uh do plan to decorate that a little further so this room is intended to just be a drop zone for raw materials nothing is going to go in here I'm literally going to use that to drop things in to me that uh is the most convenient form of unlimited storage that the game has so as I said before right behind the weapon shelves are all of my crafting and modification workbenches you can modify your weapons right there and turn right around and test your changes I love this personally so feel free to replicate it if you feel like you would like something like that in your Outpost and of course can't forget the research lab ping pong table and uh where to get your pump on go ahead and uh do a couple reps here real quick um you know just to just because here we go yep and we're struggling there we go I actually got stuck here in an endless loop of bench press repetitions thankfully for the power of editing I can cut that stuff out and here you can get some boxing in do some uh training here you know Muhammad Ali style hit both those bags like you hate them and then uh sitting area over by the window to enjoy the view in that direction in the pool table here and then I just threw some posters up on the wall for now now of course I do intend to start collecting uh junk and miscellaneous items here's another room for dropping stuff in and that is the Armory uh I do plan to pick up decorative items and place them by hand all over this uh Outpost but that's going to take a lot of time and I will likely just do a quick um revisit tour of this when I'm completed fully completed the decoration so moving back into our entryway here is our control room straight off of the entryway and I want to show you how I built the center portion with the navigation tables so to start with you want to place a rug down this will allow you to move anything you build on top of it as a whole unit together in this case I really needed to be able to do that so my plan was to use the partition walls like you see there on the left to sort of create a solid looking column with the light directly above them but to get them up higher I needed to put them on something so a stack of Contraband crates on the rug was the best and cleanest solution that I could find then it was just a matter of placing the partition walls on the Contraband crates selecting the rug and placing it in the right position now of course I already set my orientation for this little build uh before I started so that way I would know when I moved it I wouldn't need to bother rotating it at all because that would be a pain with this uh sort of assembly of things so then I just moved it around and if you notice the light change right there uh this really bugged me so I actually found a way to fix this as well and I can save you time here so once you have this placed and you're happy with that what you want to do to fix the lighting if this happens to you is you need to remove one of those partitions and put one of these bar tables right in the middle Center it as best you can to get the best result and then replace the partition wall to close it back [Music] up directly off of the control room I wanted to build a conference room meeting room uh even a war room if you want to call it that uh just a place where myself and my associates can meet and review plans and plots for Galactic dominance beautiful views of course I can see a glimpse of whatever ship I have on the landing pad even from here now was another thing that I wanted to achieve throughout uh this base [Music] build now through our entryway and up the stairs we have what I call the gallery I just put the sculptures in here that we have available to us and I wanted it to feel open um looking at it now I probably will add some seating because it does feel a bit unwelcoming but otherwise I like the idea of this there's another view of the landing pad from here and of course the other two directions as well have great [Music] views because I do a lot of ship building I decided what better place to put my own personal office SL Studio then right off of the somewhat inspiring Gallery space so here's where I put that and I wanted this to feel much more warm and inviting as as opposed to the open and sterile feel of the gallery area ship models including the old Earth ones in here behind my desk I'm going to keep a stash of unique weapons that I no longer use or never did some of them aren't great uh but here I can sit and design and plan uh all future ship builds well maybe not all because eventually I'm going to make the jump into the unity but I'm not ready yet so there is my personal office now if we walk back through the gallery and through our Bridge a few posters on the wall here we have my personal uh living space and this one is mostly sitting area um kind of a a little uh live living room kind of a lounge uh as well as a place to stand I may even throw some chairs over here but uh I just love the all the ship models lined up there with the actual ship on the landing pad in the background just a cool feature that works well for me and my character for RP so there's that another sitting area looking out the window enjoy that view and the more comfortable and still upscale couches over there on the other side and here we have the master bedroom little changing area to the right there the full length mirror is cool it' be nice if there was a actual reflection but I'm not complaining too much some bookshelves this is fairly simple this was actually the first room that I furnished and I can't wait to get decorative pieces all over this room for sure it feels very unlived in so I decided to throw some Ample Storage in here too for when I need it things that I want to keep on hand for quick and easy access this be an easy place that I can remember and that's the bedroom so now through this door we have the final staircase and again here on the upper level lots of plants and I took the opportunity to place some mounted alien heads and the lower level of this one is supposed to be kind of my personal Workshop uh SL slash tinkering Zone I've got the research lab there and all the workbenches that I need with some weapon racks as well this lower small hex Hab is supposed to be kind of a general allpurpose uh I guess you could say living area this was kind of my attempt at building an all-in-one uh if I was going to make this Outpost or a different Outpost but more scaled down uh needed to fit more more things in one room this is kind of what I was trying to do here but I do think it made sense for the uh personal living quarters half of the Outpost build here in this room I really wanted to emphasize the view because I think out this side is the most dramatic you really feel like you're very high up and you have that big expansive Valley bordered by mountains over there you can see the gas giant you can see the ocean a bit and again a clear view of The Landing Pad so mostly just a sitting room and a place to just hang out and the last room in our tour today that is a part of the main base is the kitchen and I mentioned before but I was going for almost like a galley style very clean very modern uh very kind of utilitarian um but I wanted it to feel functional like a large kitchen uh my original idea for that Center Island was to have kind of a bar top with some stools uh but we don't really have any good Furniture pieces that are bar height that we can use yet it's another thing I would like to see them add and that is our main base now let's go through this air loock it's the nearest one to us and walk over to the reactor control room look at that view man maybe you've experienced this as well but sometimes this little corrosive spot is a cluster of bushes and a couple of trees so I don't know if that's a a bug let me know in the comments if you've seen that or not so let's go check out our final build area over there at the opposite end of our Hilltop this is a cool Edition I'm really happy with this little build over here as a even a standalone thing this could easily be uh a cool little single room uh tiny Outpost for you as the player uh with a reactor and a you know if this was on a a resource extraction Outpost setup kind of a thing so I wanted this to feel like a standalone uh living quarters out here as well as a a control uh room for the reactor so of course I had to line up my consoles over here around the window I've got hel's Cruise station there on the right with a monitor above it little whiteboard and of course bed and some seating and a little mini kitchen there just here for a CH one thing I want to point out I'm sure you may have noticed but I didn't build any bathrooms reason I did that is because number one we have no interior doors I don't understand the lack of interior doors um yes this is a a tiny Colony outpost on a on an alien world I understand that but you'd still want to close doors from room to room to have some privacy so we need some interior doors number one number two we there's no showers uh they could have just used maybe um like a small shower module something like what you get in the ships but as a placeable item and could have easily given us showers that were placeable but I really hated that I couldn't actually make a bath room um unless I used an entire Hab module unit which I felt was excessive and then it would feel like just a big public bathroom I mean what are you going to put a single toilet in sink or maybe two in one of those whole Hab units it just didn't make sense to me so no bathrooms here thankfully we don't have to use the restroom in the game I know for role playing purposes and for immersion and realism it makes absolutely no sense but if we can't build a proper bathroom that's on Bethesda they need to they need to give us more things to build with the one thing I'm disappointed with the Outpost Builder is the lack of um sensible items that we should be able to build things like outdoor patios and Pathways and walkways and stairs and catwalks and and all so many things I can think of please add them in the comments hopefully Bethesda will see some of these suggestions and uh I just hope they're watching so with all that said this is Indigo Ridge I'm very proud of this Outpost it's my first home base build and uh I hope you enjoyed watching this uh I hope it gave you some inspiration and uh really quick we're going to run back through here just so I can show show you how easy it is to go from inside The Outpost to The Landing Pad thank you all again so much for watching and I will see you in my next [Music] build [Music] and with that my next adventure [Music] start
