I cannot believe that this is in the woods have a look at this ladies and gentlemen this has got to be one of the most impressive cemeteries that I have ever seen just out here in the middle of the woods and we are absolutely surrounded by woods and basically in the middle of nowhere and this is unbelievably impressive check that work out right there the entrance here this is amazing this is truly amazing let's see a piece of wrought iron fence over here before we go in I just want to take a look at it and see if they were any more great over here I don't see any what I was wondering is if that a piece of wrought iron fence yeah that's what it was that was originally a gate to enter in here that's fallen off but guys this is amazing and this is just massive to be here in the woods it is one of the largest monuments that I've ever seen much less in a cemetery in the woods and would you believe it is that okay first of all that is incredible incredible expensive stone right there marble maybe that's amazing and unfortunately the stones here have not fared very well look at the details on the fence over here you know watch out make sure I don't step on any any snakes or anything to do that this is impressive let me go ahead and give the light and we'll start reading some names some of the people out here oh man that's completely caved in right there that grave has that's awful alright so this is the Hutchinson family this side of the monument says Nicholas Hutchinson born November 26th 1808 and died April 20th 1886 and Mary Pratt wife of Nicholas Hutchinson born December 16th 1810 and died January 28 1958 over here susan e piper wife of LD hutchinson born January 19th 1862 there's no death date on this side is Elizabeth Dennis wife of LD Hutchinson born May 11th 1832 and died January 27th 1896 over here is LD Hutchinson born February 8 1835 and died April 10th 1901 all right so it looks like over here is a very busted up stone looks like it would have been a flat stone and now it's just kind of all piled up here this says infant children of clawed and and Davidson and great-grandchildren of Nicholas and Mary Hutchinson 1904 to 1906 this is Elizabeth daughter of Hyrum and Nancy Dennis wife of LD Hutchinson born May 11th 1832 married December 13th 1866 and died January 27th 1896 and I'm a little bit I guess that that should be on top of that and that and this one this one belongs on top of that when I'm assuming his LD Hutchinson born February the 8th 1835 and died April 9th 1901 once no one precious to our hearts has gone the voice we love distilled the place made vacant in our home can Nevermore be filled our father in his wisdom called our Father and his wisdom called the boon his love had given and through an earth the body lies I said that wrong and though on earth the body lies the soul is safe in heaven there's more knocked over stones here there's a big piece right here I think that was just a topper that went from there to there and just caved in in the middle notice this on the top this is probably some kind of maker's mark it interesting to see let's get the letter A carved in there says in memory of our mother Mary Pratt Hutchinson born December 16 1810 and died January 28 1858 and I got to point out this is representing a scroll so there's actually see how it kind of raises right there that's pretty neat and of course the IV over here there's another knocked over stone and some more of this rock here try to read this one this is in memory of our Father Nicholas Hutchinson born November 26th 1808 and died April 20th 1886 and then this one is covered up with this other stone here which I mean I try to move that stuff so we can read and document that grave not sure where they originally would have gone [Music] there's no marking on it laying right there I gently heat moving stuff like that in a cemetery because you know I want to leave stuff as it is and place it how it should have done all right so here we have Nancy f wife of Nicholas Hutchinson born October 30th 1818 and died November 25th 1898 now go ahead and finish sweeping this stone off a little bit so that's how we'd like to look and see if there's a makers mark on the bottom that know also gonna uncover it give it a little bit more time before it gets covered up all right that's a little bit better and I think we've just kind of covered all of the all the graves that we can read out here I am going to brush these stones off here out of curiosity if there's anything on them see any signs of inscription there gotta be careful where I step here because this grades kind of sunk in and I wouldn't want to fall in like in that one right there I think these stones are just placed on top of these graves at one point with nothing on them this is probably a stone similar to the stone that we picked up off of that other grave it was maybe just kind of like a foot stone or something like that she over here in this corner wanted to kind of take a look at these stones that are over here to see if maybe there's some kind of marking that can be made out I'll place them back as they were this is definitely a topper for a grave you can see that the edges of it this bins busted up and one thing I got to talk about real quick before I look at that is how kind of trashed this cemetery is and I wonder if someone's come out here and pushed a bunch of these stones over or if this is just really truly natural decay in some cases doesn't really look like natural decay to me with the way that that's off of there but still stood up that's there that's knocked over I mean I do know that these graves sink in and monuments fall obviously I see that a lot but in this case we're like every single one is knocked over it's um it's kind of interesting oh there's another a carved in the top of that one and there's another one right there and then this grave the open grave here kind of disturbs me it could have just been a clap situation where there was something placed on top of the grave and maybe it wasn't filled in with dirt but I can't help but wonder if this may have actually been a grave robbing situation here in fact I bet that's where all of those stones that are so busted up I bet they used to go on top of this grave here you can see there's a there's a marble piece right there it probably sat upon and then on the sides of the grave you can see where rocks were stacked up so I can't help but wonder if someone didn't bust this grave open and maybe doing some grave robbing you can see there's a mound of dirt actually right here so that that really may have been an unfortunate thing that happened over here to where this one is sunk in a bit there's a large mound of dirt right there and seeing is how nice this cemetery originally was I doubt the original builders would have allowed there to be mounds of dirt even from digging the grave they probably would have put it outside of the cemetery fence if there was any left over so I have a sneaking suspicion that this was this was grave robbing activities that happened here at one point in fact if you look here you can see damage to the stone right there where that was hit so that's that's pretty disturbing to see look back here there's a big pile of fieldstone right here this could be a grave right here it's just filled stone pile but look at the way it's stacked it's not just haphazardly thrown here it's stacked up that's a grave I bet just behind the cemetery that we've been in there's other fields done pieces gathered around here and none of that material is the same as what built that so it wouldn't make sense for maybe even excess to be stacked to there unless that we're a grave after let me know what y'all think about that I would I would assume that's a grave there's brick right here more brick there and there's a bit of an indention in the ground right here and more brick stuff over that oh yeah it's a great check it out there's a field stone that's been set up up right and placed right here so that is a grave right there I wonder almost if this area out here might not be a slave cemetery it could be it could be early settler or early family member of course you never know without knowing the history of the place and the dates of the graves within the rock wall are right for the time that they could have had slaves and they could have been buried just behind the family cemetery all right folks so I've been exploring just a little bit around the cemetery for a little bit of course we found those unmarked graves behind the rock wall and I've been looking for more I see lots of brick through the woods and lots of field stone in the woods and those could be marking graves but I can't say for sure because it's all just kind of scattered around and there's no telltale indentions in the ground but how incredible is this place is this truly hidden history that's just in the woods in Georgia you can't even see this place from the road and this really makes you wonder what the lives of these people were like they must have been extremely wealthy to have this elaborate a memorial here in what is now woods and of course I've talked about this often that this sort of thing shows how this land has greatly changed what's now just woods it was probably a very big very large home and farm out here and it's just incredible to think about how time changes and what we leave behind because this is impressive and that monument in the middle that rivals the size of monuments that I've seen in very old city cemeteries it's absolutely huge for something that is again just a small Cemetery that's in the woods today all right I hope you guys enjoyed seeing this video this is absolutely incredible history be sure to check down in the comments I'm gonna do a little bit of research on this place see what I can turn up and of course you guys always find and provide some awesome information so always be sure to read the comments there's usually good history out there if I find anything else about this place or maybe the mystery graves that are behind the rock wall then I maybe return out here and do a follow-up video but that's it for now I hope you've enjoyed this place is amazing so interesting to see something like this in the woods don't forget to Like share and subscribe and I'll see you on
