Importing Images AS PLANES in Blender with the Image As Plane Add-On!

import images as planes is a free add-on that's shipped with blender you can enable it by going up to preferences add-ons and then enabling import images as planes once you've done this you can do a shift a go down to image and click on the option for import images as planes it basically does exactly what it sounds like it takes an image it Maps it to a plane and then it brings it in as geometry inside a blender then you can do a lot of different things with it it's super valuable if you want to add just detailed quick models in the background using photos I've seen people get really detailed with this by adding subdivisions and extruding details out in addition it's especially valuable if you want to bring in things like floor plans and model on top of them inside of blender this can allow you to get the reference you need in order to model out different buildings I'll link to a full tutorial on how to do that in the comments below this video
