before your presence with thanksgiving in our hearts oh god with a praise on our lips lord god we come to heavenly father just knowing that you are the almighty god you are the prince of our peace you are the everlasting father you are that lily in the valley you are all that we need jehovah jireh oh you are our provider oh jehovah rapha oh we know you're to be a healer and right now lord god we know you're the heavenly father to be jehovah neesee you are our battle hallelujah you are our god in battle oh god you're the one made the battle of god oh you so you know how to go through it oh god o god that you have already willed but this is the confidence that we have in you that if we ask anything according to your will that you hear us and if we know that you hear us lord god we can have here to be here you're here because you know you need god to do something special in your life you know you need god to do something [Music] supernatural in your life you know that there's some barriers that you can't get through unless you get a breakthrough you know that there's some stuff that's not going to change in your life unless you get a breakthrough how many of you came tonight for a breakthrough [Music] [Music] and i just believe that whatever you need god's got it he's got everything that you need whatever's going on in your life i believe god is the answer he's the answer with him uh on that uh very very very special day and um actually dr bryant the bryant family is uh we we're we're kind of all family family friends amen his dad and my dad um great great great great friends his dad is still i'm telling you he's out there and he is a tremendous preacher as well bishop john richard bryant um what can i say about jamal harrison bryant not only a great preacher great humanitarian great leader great civil rights and social justice voice in our country today if there was ever a time that we needed leadership it's now and um i'm thankful to god that god has allowed him and gifted him in so many different realms to be able to bring leadership to our people and leadership to this nation i'm telling you new birth is quite a step away from empowerment temple in baltimore there he's at the helm of one of our nation's greatest churches and i'm just so delighted to have him with us on tonight to open up breakthrough 2022 and here's what i believe i believe that if you open the door of your heart tonight that whatever your spiritual needs are god is going to speak through this man of god and you're going to receive tonight a word a word that is transformative a word that will change your life a word that god has just for you on tonight how many of you believe god has a word just for you i mean it's for everybody that's in here but it's just for you tonight don't you trust and believe god as he comes to us there's one more selection i believe coming from our second ebeneezer worship team give them a big hand please and after they shall have finished the looked beyond all of my faults and he saw me at my needs eight hundred thousand people have died of colvin but he kept me alive if i had a thousand tons i couldn't praise him enough a thousand hands i couldn't clap enough a thousand feet i couldn't dance enough with what it is that i do have i just can't stop praising his name those of you who are grateful just for the privilege of being in his presence clap your hands oh you people serve the lord with gladness come on thank him [Music] for what he's already done thank him for what he's about to do thank him for what he's doing right now standing i don't want you to take remarkable leadership for granted since the pandemic 1325 preachers resign a week did you hear what i just said 1 325 of pastors resigned every week since the pandemic that means that there are 1 325 churches who heard their pastor for the last time sunday you ought to thank god [Music] [Applause] come on i can't hear you i say you ought to thank god that god has given you a remarkable unwavering leader and all the more second am you all know that you are not blessed you're spoiled you're not blessed you're spoiled god didn't just give you one leader he gave you two come on i need you to thank god for my surrogate mother come on come on give god some glory for her [Music] she keeps our bishop alive and healthy and young amen and i'm just so thankful that she walked in the office tonight i said anita baker is here she is but i i'm just grateful for her class and for her sophistication and her commitment to the cross and for the things of the church i don't take it lightly i don't take it for granted i am appreciative i um i want you to know that uh cornell west said uh it's a terrible thing to have a public success and private failure to have public success and private failure 87 percent of grown preachers children do not come to church 87 of grown preachers children do not come to church because they were raised to feel like the mistress they only got the extra time that their parents had left i think the evidence of the priesthood of a bishop van is the fact that his two grown children are still in ministry come on i can't hear nobody you ought to thank god for that they are not here under the rest and they're here under their own accord and for that i am grateful would you clap for whoever's sitting next to you come on clap your hands for whoever's [Music] amen they um they refuse to get punked by covet 19 they still coming to church and for that we are grateful uh would you open up your bible apps even now and join me in genesis chapter 7. appreciative um bishop van has been an unwavering presence in my life in every significant moment that i've had in my adulthood he has been here and uh truth be told i uh talked to bishop band uh before i talked to my own parents about moving to atlanta because i was scared to death of leaving a of me church and uh so when it went down i blamed bishopvan you don't know that but that's why my father don't speak to him to this day but i'm i'm grateful uh genesis 7 verse number 10 genesis 7 verse number 10 and after seven days the flood waters came on the earth you may be seated and after seven days flood waters came on the earth i want to preach for a little while uh tonight uh using as a subject i just don't feel like myself i just don't feel like myself would you look at the person beside you tell them i need you to pray for me i'll look back at them and say for real yeah i i just don't feel like myself [Music] so many people have misdirected attention around covet 19. we all know the scathing reports that have returned those who had to be incubated those who needed oxygen assistance and those who ended up in the cemetery the real toll of the church probably will not be seen for the next 18 months of how much trauma was incurred hear this from people who were stuck at home of having to readjust to living with people you claim you love forced to have quality time [Music] with no excuse for the busyness of life to understand what it feels like to have anxiety in the place you're supposed to have peace to realize that there is um no serum for being sleepless in your own bed finding yourself as a hostage at home as a consequence therapists are booked to capacity melatonin is on back order churches are closed but cut rate liquor stores are now 24 hours it was once believed that when black people committed suicide we jumped out the basement window we talked about it but we really didn't do it but now we're finding at our ourselves as dead men and dead women walking the greatest axe to grind is um is a demonic principality that they don't talk about on pentecost and that demonic principality hear this is the spirit of discouragement bishop vayne discouragement is the anesthesia the devil uses on people before he takes their heart out the enemy understands that when people are discouraged it's impossible to be spiritually psychologically emotionally or relationally healthy those of you who are online i need you to write this down a person can live 40 days without food you live 40 days without food you can live three days without water you can live eight minutes without air but you cannot live a life without hope my thesis statement tonight almost is um discouragement always precedes destruction discouragement always precedes disgrunt destruction everything of significance that has ever been destroyed here this everything of significance that has ever been destroyed in your life can be traced back to discouragement never has it ever been uttered that i'm so encouraged about my marriage that i'm gonna get a divorce no student has ever spewed i'm so encouraged about school that i'm dropping out no addict has ever professed i am so encouraged by life that it drove me to drugs discouragement is a destructive dictator all the more discouragement is an undiagnosed disease it comes in pandemic proportions like a plague unlike chickenpox it doesn't just show up once but it rears its ugly head every couple of months discouragement hear this discouragement is always connected to a cause you cannot hear this without fear of contradiction you cannot be discouraged without a reason for you to be discouraged either something has happened somebody has said something or nothing has happened let me give that to you again in order for you to be discouraged either something has happened somebody has said something or nothing has happened every area of discouragement in your life can be pointed back to those three bloodied arrows something has happened somebody said something or nothing has happened at all would you take for instance um a gentleman whose name may not ring familiar his name is james toole he's a young man who wrote a book shortly after he got out the army he sent the manuscript to every publisher who had a print shop only to be rejected by all of them he believed down to the core of his being that he was born to be a writer but the rejections began to take a toll on his self-esteem seeing how he was beginning to fade his mother took on the mantle and she refused to quit john toole's mom took up the torch but was seemingly not having much better luck than the sun as last resort she took his manuscript to louisiana state university press who brought the manuscript and in 1981 john toole wrote this book published a book called a confederacy of dances in 1982 it won the pulitzer prize for fiction at the red carpet event in new york city hut john two did not accept the ward for the pulitzer prize his mother did she had to accept it because in 1980 he committed suicide not realizing had he just waited he would have not just won he would have come through victorious i want every person who can hear my voice whether you're here physically or a part of this worship virtually would you lift up that hand right while you're seated i'm going to speak something over your life your bishop brought me just because he trusts my anointing i speak over every lifted hand that by the blood of calvary every decibel of discouragement will be vanquished that tonight they will be healed from what has happened to them they will be healed from what was said about them and they will be healed from nothing that is taking place that they imagined i believe it to be so and that miracle signs and wonders that will take place in the next seven days those of you who have never fought through discouragement don't say anything but those of you who need god to assign an angel on your behalf for you to get a second win the people around you they don't know the weight you've been carrying they don't know the pressure you've been under they don't know how frustrated you've been feeling they got no idea the anxiety that has had you arrested but i bind every demonic principality that has been assigned to make you discouraged that didn't give me the shout i need it let me give you another way i bind the spirit of discouragement that is attacking your children to make your children believe that there is not more for their future and for their destiny and for that gift i break the arm of every witch every warlock every toxic relationship every spirit of settling everything that makes them feel inferior i break it off of them y'all still ain't there yet i break the spirit of discouragement off of your two closest friends that whatever it is that they're going through that is making them fall into alcoholism fall into bad decisions and poor relationships i declare over the next seven days that they are gonna be free from it tonight i am not talking about money i'm not talking about houses i'm not talking about jobs i'm talking about your sanity that you are about to get your heart back to get your spirit back to get your faith back to get your happiness back if god could cure cancer why can't he cure discouragement hallelujah hey hey fight your holy god i feel glory coming now you may be seated thank you holy god i feel something right through here hallelujah would you just prophesy to whoever's sitting around you and tell them better is coming better is coming you ain't gonna sit next to me and be depressed you ain't gonna sit next to me and act like god ain't able you ain't gonna sit up in this church and lose yourself over some jar if god gave you that one he'll give you another one how are you gonna lose your identity over some negro god got something better in store for you you got to be free from the spirit of discouragement hallelujah the joy of the lord is my strength the strength of the lord is my joy hallelujah i'm hoping if you in this room you are at least vaccinated would you just grab somebody by the hand grab them by the hand real quick and tell them you don't even know what just happened to you when you just screamed under god you got vaccinated against depression when you opened up your mouth you ain't never going back to that dark place you ain't eating out of boredom y'all ain't saying nothing to me you ain't shopping out of loneliness you ain't sitting at tables with negroes you ain't got nothing in common with god is getting ready to validate your assignment in the earth you got too much in your future to be depressed about what's happening right now no weapon that is formed against you shall be able to prosper [Music] hallelujah you don't know your neighbor like that they don't know what you've been through over the last two years i need you to lay hands on yourself hallelujah i ain't got time to do it tonight i said lay hands on yourself you can may say something that your soul longs to hear lay hands on yourself and shout this out loud i deserve come on sail with authority i deserve to be happy i don't spend so many years of my life being there for other people and folk always made me feel like i was secondary but for the rest of this year i am gonna make decisions that will benefit me i'm sick of putting myself last i deserve hallelujah hallelujah i deserve to be happy i need somebody to tweet that for me i deserve to be happy i need you to get that down in your soul would you just point at random people in the church and say it with authority you you may be seated hallelujah i feel like i better prophesy i'm only here for 20 y'all the rest of y'all eavesdrop when i speak this prophecy if it resonates in your spirit you better shout about it god sent me from atlanta to announce the father y'all this year is gonna be the happiest you've been in the last six i can't hear no nobody i said this will be the happiest year you done had in the last six years [Applause] i want you to um [Applause] i want you to journey with me to genesis chapter six and in genesis chapter six the lord sees how wickedness has multiplied in the earth i want you to look at this in your bibles it's going to mess you up because it's bothering me i had to get it off of me and put it on you i need you to look at genesis chapter six now look at verse six the lord says something that's uh rattled me that i've not heard preached before not heard talked about in vacation bible school but i need to tell you just a breakthrough watch this the lord says he regrets creating humankind i i i could see god regretting making mosquitoes i can see that regretting making rants i i get that regretting cockroaches yeah i can read see that regretting bats regretting pit bulls but bishop van only maybe uh bishop van just me and you probably can identify with this do you know how painful it is to have to regret who you made god help me i'm telling my people who you invested in that you were prepared to give them your lasts y'all they never been there and then then they regret you for being the only real friend they had how you avoiding me when you owe me money god god i can't hear how you got an attitude when you asked my opinion and all i did was give you honesty i love you too much to lie to you y'all ain't saying nothing y'all they never had to deal with negroes you raised and then they act like they got amnesia and just arrived here by themselves and don't know the sacrifices you made just for them to be where it is that they are you ain't never been nowhere where you realize you were a better friend to them than they could have ever been to you oh come on i need three of y'all you ain't never rolled over one day and realized you were the only one in the relationship that you was giving you there all but they just gave you what was left over [Applause] says i regret who i made who i invested who i created and so on the lord decides he wants to wipe the earth clean and i um maybe i'm just preaching to the last five rolls uh god is about um hallelujah hallelujah i am i'm glad you're all the social distance because i i don't want you to scare the people around you god says um again this ain't about money tonight this ain't about nothing tangible nothing material but i'm going to see how peaked your spirit is god says jamal see if they prepare for this god said uh jamal tell detroit tell second episode tonight and forgave negroes who never apologized i'm wiping it i'm wiping it y'all ain't saying nothing to me i i gotta deal with family members that treated me like strangers i'm wiping it away i'm waiting to hear the right sound in here there's stuff in your childhood that you tried to suppress and tried to act like it never happened god said i'm wiping it away it says i'm wiping it away [Applause] but got the wrong church right through here i need you giving god glory like you see your daughter speaking in tongues i i i need you to open up your mouth like you see your son operating as a prophet in the earth realm i i need you to give him glory like all of your siblings are at the altar calling out for our god i need you to yell out unto god like nobody else in your family is going to jail no nobody else in your family belong to the streets he said i'ma save the whole i'ma save the whole family but in order for me to do it i'm gonna need you to build something [Applause] says i need you to build something hallelujah but i'm giving you the burden and the vision to build makes no sense because you have no model for it hallelujah we do not give noah enough credit because he built an ark rational critical thought because you don't have an example of how is to get done he's giving you this burden but you don't even know who to call you don't know what book to read y'all ain't saying buoyancy of my faith it is not scripted in genesis 6 0 7. but i am gravely concerned that the writer did not um take any time to do a mental health diagnostic on noah because can you imagine what noah you're not fit for ministry god i can't hear nobody in here and a lot of our churches are messed up because we made people leaders for perfect attendance and not out of capacity and proficiency just because you can pray don't mean you should be a trustee come on i can't hear nobody in here you got to have somebody who has some business acumen about them somebody who's able to handle it people who are not intimidated by large numbers so the oil that god has uh placed on my life was for a spirit of entrepreneurship did y'all hear what i just said [Music] and i was burdened by this whole idea of bishop van because i discovered softly mitchell's i discovered there's not one synagogue not one synagogue in america not one synagogue in america that has a mortgage not one you ain't bought no souvenir journal ad from the synagogue you ain't bought no katydids from no little jewish kid come on y'all ain't saying nothing here why because in order for you to get licensed to have a synagogue unlike the church of god in christ you don't need 50 members for you to have a synagogue you have to have 12 but the 12 have to have independent wealth yeah in the black church we keep raising up and multiplying welfare worshipers we're shouting over the prospect of somebody giving it to us but i'm believing that god is getting ready to raise up millionaires in ministry y'all ain't got that kind
