if Minecraft Pets were ACTUALLY useful

Hey what's going on guys log dad zip here what's that next to me is saying Shh you gotta be quiet I've been watching this egg all day it's my new friend and we're gonna learn about him in just a little bit but for the time being it's ready yeah what timing I present to you a brand new friend for you minecraft 1.10 world's it's a pit I just took a screenshot you should too because it's drumstick and he's here for you baby look at him a brand new pet that you can add to your Minecraft world using only one I mean to command and a resource pack the whole thing was put together by scored and myself it is a working pet chicken in Minecraft that will follow you around and he's going to help you a little bit exploring in your survival worlds as well with the ability to heal you the ability to help you fly a little bit and a lot more that we're going to cover in this video so stick around because it's about time for you to learn a little something something about idea friend drumstick you're finally back baby yo he's on his tippy-toes he's so excited if you are to drop a like so you can see more drumstick on the channel and with that let's go ahead and show you I can add the sucker to you world they don't budge me man now my friends this is a command block contraption so you're going to make sure you have a command block before you begin /give @p comm press tab then press enter get yourself a command block just like that based in the first command both commands and a link to squirt generally found in the description of this video click that button that will activate it you will be met with a second command block that spawns and he drops just like that yo look at this a jump sit companion by squirrel logged out zip you can right-click that sign at any point to remove it but what you'll want to do instead is put in that second command activate it once more and now we are good to go you can file it gamma text you can finally find yourself a lovely little chicken but there are a couple more steps involved first first thing you're going to want to do simple secure an egg luckily for me I have a nice little coop fill with some chickens hey little guy hey I missed I said attack yeah I'm at X now what come on come on turn around Rock side Oh oh yeah we got that hang protein oh yeah anyways yeah once you have your egg you're gonna need one more thing a name tag so grab your supplies and headed to the caves because you're gonna need to get a nametag in a dungeon likely we've got two right here and no zombies and so dang it you ruined my montage and once you've done that name the nametags drumstick and you'll be good to go we now three drumstick nametags although you only need one so we'll just save you for later Oh hints yeah all right anyways once you've got your egg and your name tag you're ready to spawn in your dear dear friend drop them on the ground together and look what you Oh delicious this egg needs a nest now we're going to game-mode 1 temporarily to show you that you could technically just spawn this in it is a spawn chicken egg and you'll get a normal chicken if you decide to spawn it but that's not what this thing is all about this command is gonna add a very own pet for you the next step involved is going to be making a nest for your new drumstick pet so go ahead and gather some hay until you've got ten bales and good once you've got ten bales of hay find a suitable place for you to set your nest down in this case I've made a nice little area down here for them you'll drop your egg and you'll drop your nest of ten bales of hay together and it'll form a special nest the egg needs warmth you need to take care of this egg it's going to take 25 minutes minimum for this egg to hatch the way you keep this baby warm is through fire charges which you can make with blaze powder gunpowder and I believe coal you need to drop to fire charges on the egg in order to keep it warm every five minutes you will have to give two more fire charges to the egg you'll get notification such as the one you saw right here the egg needs warmth and once you've done it five times the egg will hatch but we must wait patiently because it's going to take a little bit alternatively there are some commands in the description of this video that you can in fact use to just set your egg to hatch faster now the best part about it right here is you get a little exclamation point oh I love is check it out whenever you need to feed it and you get that message again once again every five minutes if you miss a cycle you will have to start over with warming up the egg so you need to stay nearby until attached and this will be the last set of fire charges for a grand total of ten and now we wait and look it begins the egg it cracked open and we have a new friend it's drumstick drumstick is hungry we got to feed it something sweet well what does drumstick each as it's quite simple these are actually the four main things involved in helping drumstick be the best friend pet you could ever have it's seeds it's a note block which we'll talk about a little bit some fire charges you really only need the fire charges to warm them up and naturally you've got some speckled well in this case glistering melon he likes to call it speckled melon I call glistering melon who asked you anyways okay so two things you need to know before you begin you need to feed him or he'll disappear if you don't feed him glistering melon he'll walk away so do it real fast he we gave him some it's delicious once you've given him some of this grape melon he'll give you a fun little wing now what's the wing do well you'll see soon for now he's still not moving around you can make drumstick follow you and not follow you by giving him some seeds you see now he wants to follow Muir a little bit now if you get too far from drumstick not a big deal because eventually he will teleport and start following you so that's what almost failed I've been terrible so where's my idea Lou drumstick hey there he is and look it's your own pet chicken and he follows you now it's done using block models so it looks just a slightly little bit different from the other chickens but don't let that discourage your drumstick you're the best pet a guy could ever ask for in fact where'd you go so he's just a little bit smaller than his other chicken friends but the beauty of our your drumstick companion is he will actually grow with time but that in time for now let's show you what this flight feather does once you have drumstick as your pet and he starts falling your down he'll give you this dear dear feather when you put it in your offhand slot you can float temporarily for just a brief amount of time use this wisely you only get about 3 seconds of levitation and it's got a cool-down of 5 seconds so as you can see here you've got the cooldown there the moment you want to go take flight somewhere that's where this things can come in handy watches I'm going to jump and just put in my fan and look at the distance that we can travel using this feather it lasts forever now if you lose it though it's a terrible thing you can only get it by bringing drumstick back into your world so if you want another one because you've lost it Hey look at him he's trying to get to me oh you silly little guy then you'll have to make another drumstick pet at supper Oh get in the water hey I was safe now in order for drumstick to grow you're gonna have to take him adventuring with you you're ready buddy come on baby look he's following me the cutest little guy after 5,000 blocks of walking drumstick will grow and not only will he grow but he will gain an extra ability now of course there's also a way to speed up his growing which you can find in the description as well once he's grown look at this he can now be fed with glittering melons and you'll actually see he's now just a little bit bigger than he was before and he comes with a special power let's go show it off drumstick can now heal you in the heat of battle if you happen to have some glistering melon John you now stay back you zombie fiend eyes hit me real good if you want to be fed by drumstick give him one glistering melon and he will heal you one dose of hearts instantly did you see it look we've been healed right away i'ma let him do it again and he will give you some absorption as well it's an instant health watch right now we've got two and a half hearts down go ahead baby eat this yeah you ready for it we got one heart instantly given to us as well as two hearts of absorption it only lasts for six seconds it's basically like a quick bite now there is a cool-down you cannot just spam this willy-nilly he'll still eat your meal still eat your melons so you gotta be careful but every ten seconds or so you can feed drumstick another melon and you'll be able to get some absorption and you'll be able to quickly just get some health on your booty instantly if you're in a tight pickle you got some zombies showing you what for boom loved it I still got the cooldown hey eat yeah much better Oh instead so that is the first drumstick ability that you get after 5,000 blocks of walking around this baby I'm eating my melons now remember this guy follows you around if at any time you don't want him to give him some seeds and he will stay right put don't worry drum I'm gonna go find some menaces for us to mess with we'll be back there we go we got some menaces coming drumstick quick at ease we need to get ready once he grows again you will see that he has another ability that he will come on learn a drum I put in the command yes he's grown again and accidentally deleted the stage in stage 2 of drumstick he holds a little conducting stick for music and that's where the noteblock comes into play if you're ever in a pinch with some zombies or skeletons put a note block in your offhand with drumstick with you and look what happens Moo's yeah and all the zombies stop and you can escape and they're dancing around they will temporarily stop and not be able to attack you because they're just too busy jamming out with drum you're giving a slowness effect whenever you are holding the note block in your offhand and the moment a note block off they can start moving again there is a cool down on this ability and when you hear a little mm that means you see did you hear it that means you can use it once again now this isn't to say that you still can't use drum stick to heal you let's get the attention of this Skelly bun as well drums - come on man it's getting a little too close for me all right skeleton you've met your maker now skeletons can still fire off but they won't be able to move you see ooh look hit we can use the skeleton to get all the zombies on us instead now I still have some damage on me I'm gonna feed drum Hey and he's healed me you can see right down there look they're all gonna go for the skeleton best day of my life oh it's so funny now the skeleton is now out of range so he's not working as well if you walk too far they lose range and as you can see it war here I love the song actually a custom song made by skort I mean drums yeah I met drumstick whoa that skeleton seen better days alright let's go ahead and get out of here now the second stage with the note blocks comes after 10,000 blocks of walking drum stick around and as you can see the size difference is starting to be not as noticeable between drum stick and your other chicken friends however the third state drumstick get huge baby look at him the final stage after 15,000 blocks aka a total of 30,000 blocks walked around with mr. drum master flex all get it he will have one final upgrade and what is it it's a working backpack you can literally now place things inside a drumsticks backpack get it right click his feet and you have the access a backpack with five items now this thing again it travels with you watch come on over to oh I gave him a seed by mistake he ate a seed so you stopped moving alright jump let's go baby alright fine you can all have seeds gee whiz oh I want to see that disgusting so the moment he stops moving the backpack has already joined us again and you can place anything you want in this backpack five slots at any time you can keep all the items you have for drumstick in there that's probably the easiest way to do it that's kind of what we had in mind we didn't want to make drum stick an inconvenience to bring with you at any time so you can now literally just right click underneath him to claim your goodies instead you can put the feather in there you can put his food in there you can put the stay-put thing here you noteblock for emergencies although you probably want that on you you never know when you might need some good music to start playing yeah yeah yeah yeah get it get it get it get it get drumstick oh oh oh I love it yeah yeah yeah yeah I got a blast time to fly all day all day oh yeah baby it's the only way ok I'm done now currently drumstick the pet is invincible you can't actually damage him this has everything to do with the fact that he's got multiple stages we're constantly updating the chickens data so that it follows you so that it moves around so that etc so one of the things we weren't able to do unfortunately is make him have damage abilities so no base stay alive forever it's a little overpowered if you guys are interested in us updating the command so that it's not super overpowered like that that is something we will consider doing for the time being though he's just really strong and he will follow you around if for whatever reason you want to kill drum stick you no longer one in your world maybe you lost the flight feather and you want to get another one by growing him in well the command is as follows slash kill at a left bracket name not type name equals drumstick and upon doing that he will die that's concerned but if you do decide to kill him just know that he is a moment's notice away from coming back at any time all he needs a regular egg and nametag bales of hay a cup of fire charges cup of glistering melon you don't need him he needs them more than you a few seeds and you are good to go with your brand new pet drumstick friend we're gonna let him grow in the meanwhile but for now
