I wrote code to unwrap my face

what up it's me from the past I got a beard it'll be gone halfway through this video what are we doing the worst intro I think I've done no we've done worse um we are gonna bring back using animal hides to wrap presents with a modern twist I think I want to put my face on wrapping paper like a skinned version of my face the idea is we take a video of me spinning around or and then we pull a center line of pixels out of every single video frame and stack them next to each other and so you end up with like a line scan of my head we got to try to keep moving at a constant rate and try to get my head centered over the center of rotation otherwise you'll end up with a blob leanness which will whatever let's do that and I'm just gonna run the Python script and it's it's gonna we can talk about the code after this so right now it's stripping every single center line of pixels so there's just hundreds of these really thin strips and that's each frame of video and when it's done it'll just delete those and spit up the final image we're like a minute in 30 seconds up and it's done and the Python just ejects this and what do we got that's really scary-looking I'm like looking sideways so you can see like the speed of rotation affects how the picture actually looks I want my face to be like centered that is awful I love the background this is like it's like a blur because it's a very narrow portion stretched across the whole image okay let's try again I love it I guess this is God that is horrifying it's like a separation of my body okay how do we how do we spend more consistently I thought I was spinning pretty consistently to look up my gum is stretched out on this side this is the last thing I would want to see like being abruptly woken up in the middle of night and then that that's standing in front of you or you shoot your face off I told it to show the image I don't know what that is gonna do as it like adds the splices to it this might be a total disaster oh no oh no oh oh how did I make this stop this isn't this is trying to open every image one test manager oh my god oh my god oh no this is a disaster no no how do i oh my god what do I do break how do I break how do I break all right freaking pause I'm gonna just stop this is this computer is gonna crash No oh my god this is like 3,000 pictures how do I put it always on top how do I put it how do I make cash blender always on top well that was a disaster I should not have used imageshow I'd do that again I would would take risk again all right now we got to reopen that we don't even know what the picture looks like cuz I was messing with that trying to see if we could look at it this is better it's still terrifying it looks like you're looking at the side of the eye and here it looks like you're looking front on it's like it's like this is bent like it's like a cavity in the center the eyes are like fixing that way I don't know we could try to take it into After Effects to stabilize the head position what does this even look like let's just play the video [Music] [Music] just from an initial look it looks not good why does it look so yellow yellow skin John what is up with that these colors are wack I don't really know what do you think camera John what's scarier the jaundice or the fact that I look like a bearskin rug yeah yes I know I know you're gonna do it yes or no yes sir let's take a moment to publicly shame cameraman John it's come to my attention that my yellow jaundice in this wrapping paper is his fault as you can see this is the image we sent to the printer and I have jaundice in it too let's go to the store to buy something really nice for Chelsea we got to test out this wrapping paper what are we gonna get her I don't know how we ended up in the toy aisle but I feel like we should not buy something from here or I could actually end up making things worse [Applause] [Music] she doesn't want that I know exactly what she needs cheesy poof's I think we're gonna get yelled at oops I am NOT super skilled at rapping not with paper at least if she's gonna be so thankful for this present I just know it every time I do something I always feel
