I tried speedrunning the original Bloons and almost drove myself insane

today we're speed running through the original balloons back before it was even a tower defense game and we can start our speed run as soon as we click on the first level and then right away you can see what this game is all about basically we're controlling the monkeys instead of setting towers so we want to pop these balloons all by ourselves you can see in the bottom there's a target that you have to hit so we have to hit 70 for this level we get all of those we can get some extras for this one we want to use those pink balloons which will get a lot of different darts and that will help us out for this one all we have to do is go to all these different popping places it's kind of an annoying one because all these balloons are in very different places but we can go right there give that another one of these chain reaction pink levels those are always nice and one of the hardest levels in the game where basically you have to aim very precisely to try to hit as many balloons as possible you have to go over the walls so that one is always really annoying but then we get a triple dart level where i get triple darts so those are always going to be nice that wasn't a perfect level but it was pretty okay i'm going to keep going with it we have to make our way through this wall hit those pinks for this one we want to bounce it off this wall and then hit a couple more balloons that isn't too difficult and we have another one of these bouncy wall levels the bouncy walls are not my favorite thing because they can be kind of inconsistent sometimes but we're just hoping we can get some good bounces we had one blue left so that wasn't perfect and then for this one we have another one of these tack sprayers we just have to add a couple more of these that's going to be nice this is probably another one of the hardest levels in the game because that is a very precise shot i am very surprised i got that first try and now we have a very big bouncy maze which that's kind of a precise shot because you can very easily mess that up have to do a bunch of more shots and now we get this boomerang which the boomerang is one of my favorite power-ups because you can see how big it is it covers a very big area it goes forward and backwards so you can kind of just send it out and we're already done it's a very nice thing to get for all these levels but i like a lot of these power-ups like the pink ones are also very nice i mean literally some of these levels are just you set off a chain reaction and you win that's the entire level or this one where we literally do nothing i don't even know why that was a level but i'm gonna take it because it was easy so why would i complain and now we just have to finish out that that was not my best shot but we can't worry about that because we have pac-man now yeah pac-man is in this game don't ask me why that is a part of this game but it's pretty cool because who doesn't like pac-man we can use this try to dodge those ice balloons because ice balloons will turn all the balloons around them to ice and that means that those balloons can't be popped anymore so you have to be very careful with them and make sure that you have enough balloons to finish out the level now we can make our way through this one we can get some triple darts things like that these darts are taking forever please stop bouncing around and we can finish it out right there that wasn't too bad just have to wait for these darts please guys it is not this difficult to stop bouncing this one we want to use these guys at the top to basically hit all the balloons at the bottom so we can use that set off a chain reaction and we're done sometimes the levels don't complete right away and it's really annoying but then you can kind of just do what i just did right there and now we have this big collection of balloons where we only need two more but this dart is thank you for dude please i just need two more of you thank you yeah these darts and these bouncy levels can sometimes take way too long just because the level doesn't want to finish out now for this one we want to hit that large collection of balloons at the end so i have to use a kind of precise shot get those hit a couple of icy balloons and we're done with that one for this one it's another dodge the icy balloons because you do not want to waste any of your pops so we can make our way through here just kind of slowly whittling away at this we only need a couple more so i'm gonna go for that one go for right there and we only need two more so we can finish it out right there okay that was actually pretty lucky for this one all we wanna do is get all those bomb guys we literally clip through the wall on that level so that's pretty funny yeah you can do clips in this game because i mean it is a flash game you can't expect too much from it there are definitely going to be some clips and for this one we want to make our way to that bomb kind of clip through the wall right there do one of those get all of those as well finish out our balloons there and then we can go over here just kind of width away of these try to dodge the icy ones that's kind of the theme for a lot of these levels because like i said the icy balloons can really just ruin the level if you're not careful with them but if you just whittle around them it won't do too much now for this one we want to take care of all these balloons not hit the icy ones you know you've kind of seen this a thousand times already now i want to explode that and the explosions can actually kill the icy balloons so that's gonna be really nice like for this one we wanna hit that bomb so it gets rid of the icy balloon and then we can use a boomerang to finish these off that wasn't the perfect shot though so now i'm gonna have to aim and hopefully hit these thank you very much now we want to hit those we have to hit one more of them please okay that's the perfect shot now all we have to do is whittle away at those finish it out nice and easy kind of wait for the level to finish up and this is probably one of the hardest pac-man levels basically for this one you gotta go from pac-man to pac-man and how did i mess that up i had barely not enough time that was terrible okay i guess we're gonna have to do this one more time we have a very good run so i am gonna continue this but yeah like i said these pac-man levels can be very difficult because there's just so much going on the pac-man music is playing in your ears and you just want to be perfect but we got through it right there now we can move on to another one of my least favorite levels because you can see there are a lot of icy balloons and you have to be very precise with this shot this usually will take me a couple of tries even the world record i'm pretty sure struggled with this a couple times but we can get that one and it was barely not it come on dude i just have to get this perfect shot and there we go that is what i needed that was not a fun level to do but this one is pretty fun because you kind of just bounce your dart and pee gets a couple of these balloons we can go into this section to throw that that can finish this off and for this one it looks like there are a lot of icy bloons that you're not supposed to hit but the icy balloons will actually give you all the balloons you need so we could just not worry about that hooray for that one we're already on level 41 so for this one we get another pac-man level go through there kind of wait for pac-man to finish before we get this last little collection of balloons and there's one more we have to get i didn't even notice that but that's okay this is another one of the most annoying levels we're basically i have to be very precise and not hitting too many of these icy balloons but you can still hit some of them and be okay now i'm just going to finish out and okay that was actually really good for this one we want to get that collection get those down there hit the icy balloons to finish it off this one is another one where we clip through the wall because we just don't like walls they're very annoying they don't let me do what i need to do we can make our way through that do some perfect clips right there this level is usually very difficult if you can't clip through the wall so thankfully we actually have that but that one isn't going to be too bad but now we get to probably one of the worst levels because you have to be very precise with this to do it fast because you have to hit multiple of those balloons and we just messed that up yeah we took the risky strats and now we're paying for it now i just have to whittle down this wall which is going to take slightly longer and i really didn't want this to happen but we still do have a very good time so i am going to finish off this wall and we'll hopefully get a couple more balloons please we just need five more thank you okay that took way too long than i wanted it to but we can still finish this out if i'm just smart about it and i get all these balloons that i need to get just a couple more that is going to be it and there are only a few more levels this one is a very precise one where we want to hit that bomb and then hit those pinks right beneath us that is going to be perfect a couple more levels it's another one of the pac-man one where we're gonna want to get all of these get our different pac-mans so they can do their thing and then we basically switch from pac-man to pac-man using the different things in the game it's a really cool level actually for this one we're going through the wall again and then going right through here to finish this off and then we can finally finish out the game right there and call off time um it's not giving me the screen i guess i'll just call off time here sometimes it gives you a level complete screen but it just didn't feel like it i guess but we still finished out the game 8 32. and if we look on speedrun.com we will see that that lands us at a nice and comfortable 7th place i actually did get a better time on my twitch stream but for doing this with live commentary
