i'm a 3d artist and today i'm going to redesign more minecraft mobs into very over-complicated versions so there's this mod called mutant creatures that adds upgraded variations of creepers skeletons zombies snowmen and uh more i found out about it the other day and thought there could be way more of these i scrolled through the list of mobs in the comments on the last one and for the first mob to redesign i decided to do the skeleton horse the current design is cool and all but what if it was like the mutant skeleton what if it was the mutant skeleton basically a mutant skeleton centaur let's make it happen i started by making the spine which this is a horse and a skeleton combined so it kind of reminds me of a worm next i made the arms and then the shape of the spine i made sure to study horse anatomy so that it looks somewhat like a horse and soon enough the legs were all blocked out after rotating it around to make it look more natural i started adding the ribs these did understandably take a while but it was absolutely worth it the whole time i was referencing a horse skeleton to make sure everything looked right and it did so i started adding details to the head i'm gonna make him have a giant underbite with random teeth and other stuff i also made the head hollow and added horns since it's a skeleton i made him a bow that is just a bigger version of the minecraft one and now the model's looking good next is texturing which involves a lot of snapping painting and testing every time i do this i always just forget how to do texturing for minecraft stuff so it took a while that's what i'm saying i tried several different materials for the shoulder pads like obsidian and gold but i ended up settling with cobblestone the rest of the tax trade took another hour or two but soon enough it was all done and looking good i like to imagine the skeleton centaur just kind of roams fields peacefully at night and then it sees someone just starts booking and just start drifting around trees quick scoping people and there'd probably be different kinds that shoot various types of arrows depending on the material on their shoulders it's just a it's just a lynel from breath of the wild it would be really cool projecting get on it or microsoft or whoever controls the data i guess speaking of data there are a ton of companies that have your personal data that use them in ways you probably aren't aware of today's video is sponsored by mine which is a smart data assistant that shows you all the companies that have your data and helps you decide which of them get to keep it all you need to do is sign up with the email you want to analyze and boom i had over 400 companies and i didn't even know half of them existed and you can even see what kind of data they have on you even financial data with the click of a button mine allows you to send a deletion email straight from your inbox to the companies you want your data deleted from and you can always cancel the reclaim process within an hour if you want the more data you have on the web the more vulnerable you are to cyber threats you can use mine completely free right now so there's not really an excuse not to take control of your data they're switching to a subscription model soon however so try it out while it's still free by signing up at saymine.com link in the description below the skeleton centaur turned out great but for the next one i'm going to do the blaze there's a lot of potential for this one because it has such a unique design so a lot of people apparently thought my weather design looked like the weather storm from minecraft storm i just got an idea blaze storm let's make it i started by creating one of the blaze heads it was going to be a little bit more detailed than the normal one which is just a cube i made the jaw able to hinge open and close just like the wither store but for the body i was not about to hand make all those details i personally am way too lazy for that but that's when i discovered blender's metaballs which are like normal balls except they stick together so i made the rest of the body out of them and then threw a remesh on them to make them look like blocks next i added the heads on and the model is looking pretty good it's just missing one thing and that that thing is tentacles to maximize laziness i made it so that i can just draw a line and it becomes a block structure you can even use another line to make part of it thin and part of it thick i made a bunch of tentacles and added more details and faces and might i say this is looking uh scrumptious but now we need to make it actually look like a place because this is this is a blaze storm uh whatever this lumpy piece i experimented making a particle system where the particles are actually blaze rods and they slowly float around a sphere i even made them oriented pointing up just like in the game next i made it so there's a vortex in the middle so they can spin around and uh yeah this will work it's kind of like a little city up there it's cool i even made it so that if you look at it from the top it actually says subscribe it says subscribe i put the basic colors on so we can see vaguely what it would look like when it's done and i can already tell this is going to be one complex design the only problem i have with this is that the storm part in the middle doesn't look like the actual blaze which has clouds of smoke instead so i managed to turn minecraft into a zip folder so i could find the smoke textures i gave them random colors between gray and black to mimic the original reference next i made a particle system to emit them from the original model and uh yeah that that's not gonna work soon it was looking really cool and i even gave the smoke negative gravity so it would rise up over time next i made it so the smoke pieces always face the camera no matter where you are i ended up removing the body entirely to be more accurate to the original and it definitely helps i think it's really kind of cool how the vortex system works even with so many particle systems but you know what else would be kind of cool lava tentacles that also have little 3d lava particles in case we didn't have enough of those already since it's lava i made it glow in the dark and now let's see how it looks with textures first i finished up the blaze rods made those glow as well looks a lot better than the checker pattern from before finally i hand painted a more menacing blaze head texture which i like but also this looks like cheese to me i definitely did not expect this one to end up so crazy but i am definitely not complaining imagine you're in the nether just trying to get some heck juice and this thing just comes out of the lake and starts projectile vomiting hundreds of fireballs or something so here's the final results again thanks so much for watching here's the next video i want to apologize that this video isn't edited as crazy as usual i'm graduating this week and usually he said his take like 40 hours plus so if you're still watching i just want to say thank you i appreciate you and i hope you have a great week oh shoot i forgot to add another depth of field joke
