I Played the NEW Minecraft 1.17 Update! (#45)

oh okay minecraft i've got a new title screen now i don't know if i like it as much axolotl the new minecraft 1.17 caves and cliffs update is officially here bringing a lot of new blocks and more importantly heaps of cool new mobs to the game but funnily enough not too many new caves or cliffs in this video i updated my hardcore world to the new update and set off exploring with the gold to lot and as always enjoy the video [Music] okay minecraft 1.17 is here i've just loaded into my hardcore world in minecraft 1.17 now i have made a backup of this world in case this goes horribly wrong but i'm here to see what's different what's changed the first thing i need to know is what what happens to my world hang on there's still bedrock here but isn't isn't the world meant to be like just so much deeper now well i don't i don't think i understand i i thought bedrock was meant to be moved down like 60 blocks all right well it seems if i want to experience the new 1.17 update i'm gonna have to load in some new chunks in this world but the issue is i've flown around so much of this world already trying to get all the advancements and find every biome i loaded in a lot of chunks to do that so we're gonna have to travel out pretty far and that's why i'm here in the nether but every block you travel in the nether you travel eight in the overworld and i am going to travel 10 000 blocks right now in the nether all right let's go let's do it oh we're going oh yeah i'm going so fast okay no but for real now with my lightroom let's fly 10 000 blocks oh this is a long journey we're almost there though we're like 7 000 blocks 10 000 blocks in the nether and now we've opened up a portal to the minecraft 1.17 update let's do it it's time to discover 1.17 whoops and i almost forgot i need to add another 200 melons to my melon farm see this is odd because i'm actually doing this right now after i've just finished editing this video i nearly forgot [Music] finally i've added another 200 melons to the melon farm for today at the start of every episode of hardcore minecraft i had 200 mountains to this melon farm so if you want to see how big it gets make sure to looks the same so that's good first things first we are a long way away from home i just i need to be sure that we can find our way back to the portal so i'm gonna do the primitive thing and just build a giant pillar in the sky and we can see a lot from up here oh wait what is that is that the goats over there it is hello friend oh that's kind of cool oh what do you do wait don't you guys like do you guys do anything aren't they meant to like get angry and and like headbutt you come on so this is just the this is just the glorified shape then all right what do you guys drop no that just drop nothing oh what that was cool wait do it again do it again they literally dropped nothing why did they add these what is the purpose okay wait i just had a thought all right show me a village i wanna i want some wheat i want to breed the goats i don't even know if you can breed them with wheat village oh that's actually so convenient it's been so long since i've just like explored in this world this is kind of fun okay hey do you like wheat oh wait it looks like you like wheat all right you and you i'm sorry what what is that noise all right go okay i thought it was a breeding noise that goat just clearly made some weird ass noises anyway baby goat look at it go bro all right well that's the goats in the new update but there's still a lot for us to discover and most of it is gonna happen underground i mean this is the caves and cliffs update after all so it's time we got into some caves oh wait a second i forgot about this we've got some new oars copper oh that is a funky looking item i'm gonna have to make a new furnace and everything to smelt this oh hang on a sec please keep going and it looks like we finally found a decent cave well this will be a nice little vacation you know for the first time in a while let's let's do some caving say goodbye to iron ore and say hello to raw iron you can now use fortune on iron that's so helpful iron is going to be so much easier to get now i mean besides the fact that iron farms are so efficient all right this is my first copper ingot i've ever got in this world what can i make with this so you can't make armor you can make a block of raw copper wait can you make a block of raw iron too it's gonna be so gross looking if you can oh you can alright what can i make with my copper i can make a lightning rod i can make a block of copper is that it is that all you can do with this stuff leave me alone let me alone let me learn oh we got some gold wait is there raw gold now oh my god there is i mean i don't know why i'm surprised but oh new block new block alert we found the cobbled deep slate this is cool i need to collect this for my research oh hello ravine ow we must be pretty deep underground what what is that you joking i was just trying to dig down to find where bedrock is i just dug straight into diamonds anyway i'm digging down to find bedrock it's no different wait it didn't change did they decide not to make that change where's my super deep worlds game all right new objective it is time to go on a 1.17 bingo hunt we need to find all the things that are new in this update we've got things like glow squids axolotls there's like lush caves drip stone there's purple geode things of the warden did they end up adding the warden i really should just read the patch notes shouldn't i okay wait so with this like glow algae can you pick it up oh you can you just need shears i don't know if it's that useful of a block it doesn't look that good for like builds and stuff but oh wait a second this is new as well what's this called tough isn't doesn't this stuff spawn around the purple geode blocks or does it just spawn randomly like is this just another diorite another andesite ah just what this game needed more random stones so what happened to all the big caves then if bedrock is is no deeper and all the caves are the same did we end up just not getting a cave update okay swamp maybe in a swamp we can find some different caves always dig straight down never don't dig down oh okay um oh oh that's nice all right come on give me a god apple just for fun oh not quite oh come on second time lucky give me a good apple no just wait what candle canned okay honey you can make candles okay never mind this this update's great oh come on man where's where's the update wait the remnants of a glow squid that's great i don't even get to see the mob i just get the ink sack what can i even use this for oh cool we got more diamonds that's what i needed oh my god this is ridiculous oh my gosh oh wait this is this is new chains in a abandoned mine shaft that is that is new that that didn't usually happen oh yes we found the purple stuff wait i forget how this works i'm gonna use silk touch just to be certain amethyst cluster so what am i meant to do with this again oh okay wait you're not meant to use silk touch i feel bad though because they're so much cooler when you silk touch them okay well now we have amethyst shards which can make these blocks of amethyst isn't there meant to be something else you can make with these things too yeah well i don't really know what these are for but i guess i'm gonna collect them also this block is quite nice i like this block oh and you break it quick too oh that is a lot of creepers what have i just walked into i just i feel like this is this is still a snapshot this doesn't feel like the update yet look i might have to actually read the patch notes oh wait a minute yo life hack did i just find the easiest way to find these things oceans yeah let's collect ourselves some of this stuff maybe the key to finding glow squids is under underwater ocean caves oh wait drip stone new block i mean it's not that exciting but i'm actually amazed that i haven't seen it yet hey little buddy you're a far way away from home what are you doing out here in the ocean oh you're looking for the glow squids too i see yeah good good luck out there they're very hard to find oh i found more purple stuff i found more purple stuff oh no there's a creeper in my purple stuff all right look i could have swore it was a thing that you can like make a telescope with uh i could have sworn oh copper and amethyst okay so copper does have a use it's to make a spyglass oh that's so stupid all right off we go what can we see oh i can see so much oh wait a minute damn maybe spyglasses are good maybe we can find something cool in the jungle i'm looking for a jungle temple oh look what i've spotted oh boy i hope i hope there's no traps in this place i hope i don't get get trapped what do i spy there is that an ocelot in a tree hello you are one brave cat wait are you just no longer scared of me or is it because you have nowhere to run i just found a cat stuck in a tree in minecraft this this is a tragedy oh oh boy one like on this youtube video can save our rainforest guys please smash lie hmm oh wait i heard a parrot look at it yes i did just spend like 15 minutes running around a jungle waiting to see a parrot just so i could dream i'm to get back to the mission at hand and find we need to find and kill a glow squid we also need to find and befriend an axolotl they are our two missions all right well i've been playing this new update for a while and i've barely seen anything new so i decided i would actually go ahead and read the patch notes and now i've got a plan first of all i know if i want to befriend axolotls today which i definitely do i'm going to need to have to find some tropical fish where's the warm ocean [Music] oh oh my god wait spy glass engage that's an axolotl i found the axolotls before i could find tropical fish no this is bad oh you know let's just let's investigate let's see what these guys are about to can i get you in a bucket without having to tame you it seems i need to befriend you first okay i need tropical fish oh okay i've been flying around forever i cannot find an ocean that is warm i've only found cold oceans i'm actually gonna go back to the land of 1.16 i should still be able to get them to spawn or near my spawn oh we are here happy to be home all right and while i am here i may as well just uh quick scope of gas real quick nice shot all right it's time for me to go explore the oceans i need to go find some warm oceans and i need to collect some tropical fish oh please i think this is warm ocean right deep lukewarm ocean finally okay we can find tropical fish anywhere around here like right there i think that's literally it right here yes oh that didn't have to be so hard okay okay just get in my bucket get in my bucket please now i don't even think i necessarily need too many of these in buckets i think i literally just needed one but i'm not 100 sure on that so i'm gonna grab a few since they were so difficult to come by and these are some cool looking fish it's actually so good that they gave these tropical fish a use now besides just being like besides looking pretty now at this stage i had some elaborate plan to try and get axolotls in my world and i had almost convinced myself that it was going to be the only way until i figured out that they were right under my nose all along oh wait a minute wait a minute i already have an axolotl farm this video is such a mess okay first of all yeah no kill these kill these glow squids bro yeah that's that's my dude all right so axolotls if i hold a bucket of tropical fish around them they will start following me wherever i swim i can take you anywhere buddy oh buddy what are you doing get get in the water okay oh so maybe the tropical fish does have to be in the bucket in order for you to feed them does that mean if i put you down will you guys breed now oh i don't need to make an axolotl farm i've already made an axolotl farm these guys are everywhere now yellow meat pink pink meat yellow uh boom boom i think it's happening i'm sorry oh my god i got the achievement for breeding them again i forgot about that oh my god look at that thing it's so tiny oh my god and it's a killer it's it's a killer this is the only good thing about this update these mobs are awesome okay wait i think i just had a genius idea i've discovered in this crater here that i've dug because this is actually completely dark apparently even though i've got some torches in here we get axolotls to spawn and we get glow squids to spawn and axolotls will kill glow squids on sight so i figure if i just put down here a chest and a hopper over time as glow squids and axolotls just randomly spawn in here and fight each other i'll accumulate low ink somehow this this crater that i dug in the earth actually turned into a farm it's a glow ink farm so that was my first reactions to the latest minecraft update and now seems like a good time to point out that this is not the final caves and cliffs update and this was just released as part one which means there's still a ton of new features they're working on bringing into the game but i have to say this did just feel like another snapshot rather than an update but on the bright side with a new update means new
