so i just bought the most expensive electric dirt bike that i could possibly find on the internet and i convinced myself that it was in the name of science however i could not convince anyone else that it was a good idea that's not the wise thing to do but you know what who cares i cannot wait you guys are going to love this thing let's dive into it all right so so normally i would unbox this with a chainsaw this is actually a little bit different now this is a this is a little higher end company than what i would have normally been buying this is called a uh kitchen i've never heard of the company before but apparently they make decent stuff i don't really know but we're not going to use a chainsaw today is a regular knife and it's unusual normally they don't let you buy bikes in the crates like this but i i bought it from a guy actually these things are almost impossible to find when i look at online there was like three or four of them available for sale in the country i found the one that was actually not not for sale from a dealership he ordered it last year it came in sooner than he thought so then he didn't really want it because they already bought something else and then i got it so somehow i was able to buy a ku kutum i think it's an african company somehow they were to buy one of these still crate it up so i'm excited to see what it looks like let's grab a knife be very careful don't scratch the bike don't ruin the bike all right so i'm definitely no stranger to purchasing electric bikes you know i had that one now i bought for from china for 10 000 bucks that was literally the biggest piece of junk ever it worked for one day i drove the harley davidson live wire which is actually it was a lot of fun that was a pretty expensive bike that was 30 000 this one comes in at just 11.8 for it which was msrp plus all of his fees at that point the guy who sold it to me was breaking even so he told me shout out to that guy from somewhere in the south [Applause] i also bought the cheapest electric adult sized dirt bike which was actually more of a electric mountain bike which kind of brings me to another question why do so many companies not actually understand what a dirt bike is and what a mountain bike is hold on let me show you this of course is a dirt bike you can see it's doing awesome dirt bike things it is going uphill it's jumping stuff what all these modern companies are doing is they're taking a triangle putting wheels on it and handlebars and putting regular tires on and now somehow that's considered a dirt bike guys that's not a dirt bike that's a dirt bike and that my friends is an actual dirt bike this looks mean looking all right come on it's got a lot of wrap [Applause] i can only imagine what type of amazing stuff is in this box let's put over here all right fine the gig's up i know it's not pronounced katim i've heard of ktm it's an austrian or australian it's one of those it's the same company it's the same country austria and australia no one there's no difference i've just never been a fan of ktm i don't like guys that are all about ktms they all look like this and they're the worst and they're all it's like it's like it's like the crossfit movement you know they got to tell everyone that they write a ktn they have ktm sticker on their back i just i don't know there's a reason i don't like ktms or people that ride ktms and that was because i had one and the manual said change oil every 500 miles and about 500 miles what are you talking about this is crazy and then my buddy had one he was riding on the highway and it blew up he took it back to the ktm dealership and they were like oh yeah you can't you can't do that you can't ride it on the highway i can't ride my ktm on the highway ever since then i'm not a huge fan of ktm maybe this will change my mind maybe this will change my mind it is it is shiny i gotta admit it is really really shiny i'm really hoping that this is gonna put a put some pressure on a gasoline dirt bike and we will we will test that out now i know what you guys are thinking you guys have been thinking lately sean you've been getting really huge packing on that muscle all of that was for this one moment right here hold on so i'm going to grab the grab ah shoot ah shoot dang ktm put a grab bar on your stupid bike [Applause] this is why i hate ktm you can't put a grab bar okay that's a grab bar all right there we go that's why i love that's why i love ktm straggler straggler bolt i thought this stuff only happened with chinese bikes or put this down right on the lift don't let me forget about it all right so you guys are probably dying to know what's in this and what's in that box let's just figure it out it is a really cool feeling neoprene waterproof bag a lot of things tool kit is that a specific number for this is it this exact bike what does that number mean is that longitude latitude i've got a tool kit perch i'm not sure what that's oh uh these are for um side view mirrors maybe more lights wp has a company that makes the forks they don't even give you a ktm sticker here's the manual no graphing paper all right and then a pen i gotta admit i mean this is this is all good quality stuff literally the cheapest pen i've ever seen in my life so normally there's a lot of bike to put together which i think is honestly just to save money so you do more of the assembling although i've never put together uh you know yamaha or honda or ktm or any of those major companies because normally they're you're obviously not allowed to i'm not sure how he was able to get this bike in the crate uh when i talked to han to try to get one of their bikes you know in the crate so i can unbox it they said they're not allowed they said they they can't do it the manufacturer will not allow a non-honda certified technician to put the bike together so either ktm doesn't mind or someone made a mistake and maybe someone's going to get in trouble so now i have to figure out a way to compress this so i still have some tools that that are in getting mailed to me so i don't have all the tools i'm expecting to have i don't i have one screwdriver not that big of a deal this guy goes up here looks awesome so i don't know if these things come with battery life or if they don't come with battery life that's where the seat comes up now this right here is the monster battery look how big that thing is is it bolted in right now there we go there we go oh there's the connections that that's the connection to it the electric motor is a water-cooled electric motor i guess it's pretty cool let's put this battery back in there that's so heavy they kind of made it sound like you can get a spare battery and then just swap them out on the trail that's not that's not happening this is actually the battery that powers the bike this is the battery for the clock the clock is actually set to last like three uh million years this is what that's so this goes down i wonder if you put this over the the terminals when the battery is pulled out oh you know what all the answers and more to all of our questions will be inside that box let's open it up oh you know what you probably were not supposed to see that but since you did i'm gonna turn that into a motorcycle let me just let me just put it that way we're gonna make street legal it's gonna be awesome bark busters very important all right this looks like this is the um the charger this is huge it's a 220 so the only way you can charge this is um is there washer this is pretty cool looking though it's got a fan it's a storage on it so if you heard my earlier conversation with with caleb i wanted to make a really fast harley davidson and i tried doing that by putting a turbocharger on my cvo road king i tried to buy the fastest harley davidson they ever made the v-rod destroyer there's some issues go back and watch that video but that's not gonna work so i was told that the m8 harley-davidson is one of the baddest motors out and apparently they can make 200 horsepower and 200 foot pounds of torque apparently with some just some bolt-on parts i can make it more powerful than my turbocharged um roadking you guys let me know throw in the comments do you want to see a regular harley davidson making more power and more torque than a sport bike than a yamaha or one do you want to see it leave in the comments it should be uh i kind of want to see it oh yeah also you know you wonder what my other before ktm is remember the remember like six months ago when craig got this big bike accident kick-starting they're trying to pop start his uh his dirt bike and craig still loves ktms check that out it's a little key key card this is the thing that you don't lose i i'll lose it but no i won't lose it i'm gonna put another bag i'll lose the bag though this is clyde this is classic ktm for me though like this makes sense oh wait hold on a second does that do anything all right so i guess i had to get this page 16 in the menu which i don't have the manual i didn't come in but i found it online that little tiny battery in the back is a 12 volt battery and it needs to be fully charged for the thing to start up maybe we could jump start it i don't know when you press the button this test doesn't do anything all right so putting my meter up to this tiny little battery and it is super super dead it's a little test lead you press it in there and also says it's dead so maybe we can plug it up to the other battery tender and maybe it'll give enough voltage to pop this thing off i don't know it's probably a bad idea let me take a little battery out and [Applause] see what we can figure out the next step is to take this little tiny battery out and see if we can figure out what's going on here so what i got to do now is figure out why the bike that had world's largest battery in it is not working because of the world's smallest battery this is tiny it's the tiniest thing i've ever seen in a dirt bike or a motorcycle and nothing i have is actually charging oh wait hold on i don't know we got to go to a place and get this thing charged up let's go you feel yeah i got to feel like kind of dumb going to a battery place with the this little battery be like my electric motorcycle doesn't work what if this fits sideways that could work it's got a big bulge right there you're really all right see if it moves [Applause] that is torquey and here is an awesome montage okay it's not awesome because i'm not really good at riding dirt bike but the little editing it might look mediocre [Music] oh man this thing is crazy fast [Music] [Music] wow i saw a video where a guy was running one of these in a hair scramble and he crushed everyone out of the whole shot you can see this thing is just as soon as you get like 20 miles an hour it's just gone like a rocket [Music] yeah we'll let it charge oh so that's the eu oh is that plugged in wrong is that plugged upside down because i plugged that part in did you i feel like this is pretty typical of a ktm not working the day you buy it uh no instructions there's an online manual we'll turn we have a multimeter to turn them off to figure out one that went off i have a lot of questions about this strange new electric dirt bike thing but first i have to answer is how long can this battery last non-stop full throttle so the bike is limited to 50 miles an hour which is like 82 kilometers an hour and it gets there pretty quickly but it feels horribly slow while riding on the highway they say that it can last about an hour and a half on the trails but i don't think it's going to last more than 18 minutes wide open flat out i also think it's going to melt these tires let's see what it does all right so we're at six kilometers we just started i've been full throttle where you at greg yeah it just it feels extremely slow i didn't know we were such an inconvenience for everybody nine minutes huh oh shoot we're down we're down a whole bar we're at uh that puts us to what like sixty percent probably only about five more minutes before i go to limp mode we probably need to get off the main road ah i turn it off and turn it back on so oh you rebooted it you got plenty more does that feel like planted to you yeah okay all right let's go so doing what this bike was not meant to do full throttle on the highway it lasted 45 minutes and did just under 30 miles which is i don't know not that bad and we actually got pre i mean 30 miles is pretty far but that's the most inefficient way to use this motor somehow the tires actually lasted i thought they would just melt off completely um because it's a hot day and they're really sticky tires now the average dirt bike takes a lot of abuse from a lot of different conditions i got a lot more tests i want to do with this thing that'll be in the next video we'll see you guys next time don't forget to subscribe wanna help me get this thing in there craig no i'm the camera guy come on
