- Hello, I'm Mike Russell

look at Adobe Audition, noise reduction. (upbeat music) Check out my Premiere Pro audio presets. If you're working with
dialogue, different microphones, or you need to do some noise
reduction in your videos, you need these audio presets. Head over to mrc.fm/presets

sure it sound right, boy ♪ ♪ It sound right, boy ♪ Okay. Many ways to do it in Audition. It has world class noise
reduction features. Let's explore them now. Here's a sample clip. - [Woman] Yeah. Um. - Now, as you can see from the waveform, lots of background noise
and on the levels meters, wow, that's loud noise. So a few ways to do this. And the first one is to go into effects, noise reduction restoration,
noise reduction, and we need to capture a print
of only the noise, like so. Capture noise print and it's done. Select everything. Lots of noise around the low end. So let's crank that up. Noise reduction up to about 80%. Reduced by, let's make that
50, nearly 60 decibels there. And it's pretty much all gone. Let's look at the preview
window. Look at that. That's before, that's after. Big change, in fact, a huge change. You can see there's a lot of
crackle there, no crackle here. Let's listen. Nothing. - [Woman] Yeah. Um. - So a really good way to do it. There's another way to do it
and it's even easier than that. Effects and we'll go to
noise reduction restoration. De-noise. And again, we go from zero to a 100%. Now this one, unfortunately,
is not as effective. You can see it's reducing slightly, but sometimes noise reduction
has a bit of an edge. And finally, one more
way I want to show you, and that is in effects, amplitude
and compression dynamics. And we can switch on from
the auto gate section, this, turn the threshold down
a bit and look at that, how it cleans up and
leaves just the voice. - [Woman] Yeah, um. One, uh... - How perfect is that? And the best thing about
setting up this one, is that it's not actually
taking any frequencies, out of the voice because it is
essentially muting out audio, that falls below the threshold you set. So anything below minus
28.3 DB is muted out. Beware, this can cut
off the ends of words. So to stop that happening,
increase the hold. But now, you know three
ways to get rid of noise, and do noise reduction in Audition. You've got the noise
reduction effect, de-noise, and of course, dynamics effect. You wanna check the auto gate section out, and set that up to
remove background noise, without affecting speech. Let me know how you're doing this, in the comments down below. (upbeat music) Make sure you like this video. And also if you wanna see
