How to make Pan-Fried Lamb Chops, Greek-Style!

[Music] [Applause] [Music] hi guys welcome back to another episode of dimitra's dishes today I'm going to teach you how simple and easy and quick it is to make lamb chops in a cast-iron skillet this is basically the same lamb chop recipe that I use it's the only lamb chop recipe that I use because I love this marinade I shared it in my elegant summer menu which you can make all year round really I'll post that in the card section up above I I taught you how to make them on the grill this is basically the same recipe but only they're gonna be pan-fried so you can make them inside your house all year long let's go with the ingredients that we can start for the marinade we're gonna need some olive oil lots of dried oregano a little bit of cumin powder some red wine vinegar salt black pepper and some garlic cloves then over here I have some lamb loins that are at room temperature and later on we're just gonna garnish them with some lemons and some mint which I'm gonna go and grab in a little bit so I'm gonna begin by grating these garlic cloves there are three garlic cloves here they're gonna add tons and tons of flavor a quarter cup of olive oil a quarter cup of red wine vinegar a half a teaspoon of cumin powder and we'll start with a tablespoon of oregano but I'm definitely gonna add more in a little bit and just mix this all up this right here would be good on anything chicken fish really it's good on everything so now I'm just gonna pour it all over the lamb chop then I'm just gonna make sure that the lamb is just covered in this marinade it's gonna add tons and tons of flavor the red wine vinegar tenderizes the lamb really well and it also gets rid of a little bit of that gay meanness that lamb tends to have now I'm gonna season both sides with salt and pepper and then I'm gonna do one more layer of dried oregano on top oregano I feel like is the magic ingredient in lamb chops it just gives them so much flavor so the best thing to do is to marinate these at least four hours but you can do it if you do it overnight it's much better you could even have these marinating in the refrigerator for two days that's gonna give them maximum flavor but I don't have that kind of time and I don't have a spare tray of the lamb chops in my refrigerator so I'm just going to go ahead and pan-fried right now as is still gonna have lots of flavor but make sure if you're doing this and you have some time you do marinate these day ahead of time you can you will thank me later in the comments section I know let's start cooking these lamb chops so I have a cast-iron skillet heating over medium heat you don't want it too hot or too cool I'm gonna put the lamb inside the skillet and I'm just going to let this cook five minutes on each side and then I'm gonna cook it two minutes on the thinner side until it reaches at least 145 degrees Fahrenheit I'll show you what it looks like as soon as it's done so I like to pan fry my lamb chops in a cast-iron skillet if you don't already own one and you want to have the same one that I'm using here today I will post that link down below in the description box once the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit the lamb chops are cooked you can cook them to however you like them now if you like the medium well or medium rare I will put all those temperatures in the recipe link down below is everything's will be on the website to meet ROS issues calm the only thing that we garnish these lamb chops with in Greece we don't make a butter sauce we don't make a pan sauce we don't make gravy or anything like that we just squeeze some fresh lemon juice on top chop up some fresh mint and put it over the lamb chops and that is it that is all you need the only other thing that I would serve with these is some tzatziki sauce creamy cool refreshing so good I will post that link up in the comments in the card section up above so you can grab that if you haven't already made it my technique is super creamy and delicious as soon as the lamb chops are done cooking then go ahead and set them on a plate and let them rest for a good 5 minutes so that way all the juices can be redistributed and then go ahead and serve these I love to serve these with a nice Mediterranean rice pilaf you can do lemony potatoes mashed potatoes the sky's the limit I'm gonna go in and take a bite [Music] delicious they're so tender they almost have a little bit of a smoky flavor from cooking in the pan for so long they're perfectly cooked I like to cook mine medium well and more towards the well-done side you can go and cook them however you like them I love the lemon and the mint on top this is a recipe that you should definitely save especially if you're entertaining holidays are
