hello and welcome to los angeles international airport and i'm going to keep calling it los angeles because it pisses off americans and that's funny to do um and i'm here with ally hey my hair is shorter not as short as mine wow and we're going to fly from lax in a four-seater plane how cool is that so you're gonna take us down to san diego we're gonna head down to san diego we might have to divert to san diego lindbergh field the international airport that would be a cool diversion because there was an incident earlier today with a falcon that went off the runway at montgomery field well there we go so we could get even more excitement than we had already by just both being here at lax so let's um head across to the plane and let's get in the sky yeah [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right the flaps are down but unlike a cherokee they're no step and there's stuff on a cherokee yeah you can they have the black you can stand on the black spot that also as you're recording i think anybody with common sense wouldn't fit no but they're actually certified for that some are bonanzas yeah [Music] so you've never flown a sid right i've never flown yeah so um this sid is like a more simple older kind of sid okay it's only for non-turbo jet airplanes so a turbo prop would fly this or us okay um so it's the seal beach 8 departure which is basically fly heading 251 until crossing the santa monica uh 154 degree radial which will be put into the gps it shows it and then we turn to heading of two zero one and in order to diverge from the traffic coming off to four two zero zero heavy taxi because actually all the runways are two five one but they differentiate them with the numbers so then we turn left to 201 and uh on the ground then they give us regular vectors to seal awesome yeah and i have to this airport has what's called a departure atus and uh uh they have two asus they have a departure at us and an arrival latest right so like i listened to the arrival latest before and now we're going to listen to the departure it is los angeles international airport at information hotel zero one five three zero one two seven zero at niner visibility one zero your clouds line of the airplane is more like 300 rpm not 2700 okay so um we'll generally try and fly it as close to the red line that's true it's close to 2700 or even a little above and get the air speed but under 5000 it doesn't overspeed but it kind of consumes a lot of gas in order to keep it cool enough so we'll uh last for 6 30 to set up maintaining 3000 i'm going to maintain 3 000. yeah we're going to intercept six stocks fighting uh zero eight zero it's going to clear twenty three to ocean tyres notification roger zero eight zero six fox tanker all right he wants us to intercept on that on the 800 feet there yeah it didn't look like they had a lot of room it's hard to tell they even were able to slow down that much they stopped right in front of the localizer but apparently the ils is out for three weeks now oh man got lucky there though yeah yeah they didn't go through the fence [Applause] these clouds are relatively cool we were in la maxine traffic in mountain san diego so it should be a pretty easy pretty nice flight all right i appreciate that yeah i i lived downtown so didn't want to go to gillespie oh no nobody wants to go to glaston if you're a pilot who flies montgomery you still just an lp because of the terrain um we actually have lower minimums than the airlines do okay their minimums are are 760. ours are 680 because we have lp like a lot of the business jets have
