How to fix that DANG TETHER on NON-DEDI SERVERS (PC)| Ark Survival Ascended

Hello my fine feathered friends this is Songbird and I wanted to take a moment to make a quick little video here and answer A question that I keep getting it keeps coming up over and over. How do you change the tether distance? for non dedicated servers Of course, I am playing in PC. I can't speak for any of the consoles. I don't have access to test that out Console players, please, let me know if it works the same for you, but you go over here to create or resume game and over here to create or resume game and Then you're gonna go into game rules here, which is basically just settings But I guess they figured calling it rules would be less intimidating or something I don't know and then clear over here under rules. So game rules and then rules and Then you can scroll down and you non dedicated tethering distance This is what you want and by default the distance is one if you want to extend that you can raise it up You can even type in a different number if you want to you can type in a hundred if you if you want to but be careful because the reason why there is a tether in the first place is because the hosts own Machine your own home computer or Console is acting as the server For you and however many other people are joining you in the non dedicated session your console or computer of course is not at the equipment is not quite at the same level as a professional dedicated server and If you and your friends are all spread all over the map The game is having to render in a lot of different areas of the map. It's having to render in the graphics It's having to render in all the creatures and everything that they're doing chasing each other around Eating pooping dying Whatever they're doing it it costs resources for your computer. And so if you extend this too much You could start seeing a lot of crashes So be careful of that if you if you raise it up and you start getting a lot of crashes try Lowering it down again Especially if you're gonna have more than just a couple people on there You you may not want to be too far from each other because if the game is only rendering the area around the host then that's a lot less resources for For your machine and a lot less likely to cause crashing So just so you know, I know it is really annoying though I play with my husband in a non dedicated session and yeah, the tethering is it is very annoying So yes, we do extend it some not to extreme amounts like this I think we've extended it to like five or ten or something but Yeah, and if this helped you at all Don't forget to leave a like and I make videos here about Ark tutorials building and modded gameplay if that sounds like something you would like to see more of hit that subscribe button and I will see you around Have a good day my friends.
