How to build a small roof

crazy framer here again today's video I'm going to show you how to build a small little ez roof like this I have this kitchen nook down there it's gotta have a roof on it here it's just gonna have a gable on the end and then three trusts is pretty simple I'll lay out my wall is where my trust is are gonna go I'll just hook on the end here and go 24 inches X ahead 20 24 48 and 72 is the same thing on this side now the easiest way to stand Trust is by yourself just to be able to walk right down the middle so I want to put a plank across here so I have something to walk on put this plank on here just gonna take a block [Music] you should be enough to hold me yeah next I'll take this 2x4 nail it on here so I have something to nail the gable to take my cable throw it there I want to make sure I'm flush with the sheeting on the end great - there looks good now I have these two by four blocks that cut at twenty two and three eighths of an inch we're gonna go in between this since this is an inch and a half it'll make it twenty four inches from this side to this side of the truck I'm flush here would have been nice if the trust company gave me one more trust like a put it right here but they didn't give me one so I'm gonna have to make my own they just assume I'm gonna nail a 2x4 ledger to this wall the wall is not here so we'll just build a quick trust so I got this I'm gonna measure from here to here to get these pieces it's 91 and 3/4 I need two two by fours of that go on the corner toward the eighth with that angle same with this one at angle 90 1 and 3/4 that's measuring from the long point 91 in three quarters this will be you to the short point this 8 1291 and 3/4 long the short I'll put my 2 by 8 fascia board on here little longer than I needed but run it wild so I can cut it off later want to check where it planes out to you want to be about right there anything yet now I have these two two by fours cut to 46 and a quarter from the square side to the short side of my 8 12 take one of them take the other one put it on top of you now I'm gonna have to cut my lookouts it's gonna be a 2x4 that's gonna go on like this so check what this is it's 24 and 3/8 and I'll add ten and a half it's supposed to be a one foot overhang lookouts are gonna be 34 and 7/8 so I'll cut four of them for two by eight blocks at ten and a half now on the other ten and a half lakh to my lookout block which I'm flush here flush on the end now I'll put my lookouts and fascia on up from here are the same 46 in the quarter two feet from there 22 and a half I'll check what I have here [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you or I could put my sheets on its going to make sure this Gable this level on here good now before I could put my sheets on I'm going to snap a line I'm going to hook on the fascia measure up 48 and a half over there and over here and I'm gonna snap a line across [Music] one last thing I have to do before I can cheat just put these insulation stops in they're gonna blow this all in with insulation so I got to put these cardboard things in so it doesn't blow up just bend them up like this like that do that for every space I'll make sure I'm half on that truss and go on the lot that line that I snapped check what this last sheet is 22 and 5/8 now I'll take these H clips and put one in every space we'll grab another sheep [Music] get it in the clips and half on this trust you want to stagger your sheets so I don't want it line the joint up with that I measure my last 46 and 5/8 [Music] you and that's how you build a roof time for a beer
