what's up everybody my name is Kathleen former PCT through hiker avid Pacific Northwest a hiker and the hungry hiker here on YouTube today we're gonna make one of my new favorite recipes holy moly breakfast bars they're super easy to make easy to pack and don't require any sort of cooking or preparation on trail as long as you make up ahead of time at home when I first started my PCT through hike in 2018 I had this grand idea that I was going to cook breakfast on trail every morning and when I say cook breakfast I mean boiling water and adding it to dehydrated food but still it was one more chore that I needed to add to my pack up camp in the morning routine by day three on the PCT I realized that my ideal breakfast on trail need to be quick and easy my breakfast would include items loaded with sugar and calories such as unfrosted pop-tarts rice krispies treats granola bars with bars various pastries and baked goods I packed out from resupplying in town and sometimes even a handful of gummy bears not exactly the healthiest of breakfasts is the holy moly breakfast bar are quite possibly the most perfect solution to my on trail breakfast problem the relatively healthy easy to make easy to pack and holy moly are they tasty [Music] I could eat these for breakfast lunch and dinner these bars are packed with almonds rolled oats pumpkin seeds dates almond butter dark chocolate and sweetened with a little bit of agave syrup and even have a hint of spice with ancho chili powder each bar has about 400 calories seven or eight grams of protein and weighs about two and a half ounces each one batch of Holy Bull Way breakfast bars will make nine bars so before we get started be sure to subscribe to my youtube channel to get notified anytime they add a new video all right let's make some holy moly breakfast bars [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh my god they're so good hmm the hardest part about making this video is that I can't stop eating these damn things be sure to check out the description below for a link to the recipe on my blog Kathleen loves yoga if you like this video please hit the thumbs up button and if you haven't already be sure to subscribe to my youtube channel thanks for watching happy trails and keep on track [Music]
