History Teacher Reacts to Countryballs for the FIRST TIME!

hey youtube i'm mr terry a high school history teacher welcome back to another history teacher reacts video all right guys since i started my channel a couple years ago people have been telling me about this thing called country balls and i never really understood what it was and people just like you know in comments and stuff they're just saying like they were comics they're often about history and they involve different countries and that's basically all i know about it uh but people are telling me i should check them out and maybe do a reaction video so this is the first time i've really seriously looked at country balls related things and this video was recommended to me and this channel is called limeade and it's just titled country balls episode one so it seems pretty popular it came out in march 2021 and has nearly two million views so maybe this is a a good version of it or whatever i guess we'll check this out the original video link if you want to check out the heck is country balls one join no one join no okay is this the eu talking to like norway and switzerland one time now hey eu we can join [Applause] grace dude wait okay so these are comics and there's voice acting them so there's different countries so we have to get in our flags right in iceland and okay then it's like okay then you get the other countries like albania turkey and stuff and they're like hey we want to join but apparently the eu is not real cool about they they want the other european nations okay i can join ken jones [Applause] grace okay i get it no never before seen greek ruins and 3 25 euro step right up do you see them okay so okay so there's these are a bunch of comics and i guess kind of like how i do with meme reviews i guess i could talk to them if i understand i'm trying to get through the voices and stuff so greece has had economic problems in the big uh just in the last decade and germany as you know maybe the most powerful economy of the eu was one that people were looking to um to to help out greece like they basically wanted bailouts because he was part of the eu and they're part of uh they use the um the euro as an economy and uh for their economy and germany's just going to blow them up because like because they're like opuna no never before seen greek ruins and 325 euro step right up okay so that's like all right greece is going to make their money back by just like what they do with their uh tourist economy which is let's go see the ruins right so now you have new ruins i get it they are the common rabble of europe some of them don't even speak english first of all they all look alike how can they possibly expect me to tell them apart okay so we got a bunch of different european countries so each of the each of the balls is like their map right so we got the british okay can i scoff at the lack of originality expect me to tell them apart i scoff at the lack of origin because all the british commonwealth countries like they all have you know all the makings of the british flag and and so you get you get them all there yeah like new zealand and australia and um canada originally so nice okay some irony i like this those damn ruskies are the only thing stopping me from taking over the rest of the world it's about time to take them out so the possibility of successfully invading russia is approximately 3720 to 1. never tell me the odds i see i don't want to talk about it all right we get the countries invading invading russia in general is just a bad job so of course we got napoleon and then we got uh the germans um who both you know failed spectacular i don't want to talk about it germany how can you make so much money just remember customer is king cosmetics king my friends why mongol board all right you take too long if i break every single one of these down some of these are gonna have to help me because sometimes i don't i don't know what the drawings are supposed to be and you feel free down in the europe it's because of luis a terror for you i'm gonna have to uh change up my lessons in class a terror for you and a tariff for you i foresee zero negative consequences coming out of this that that was you know different parts in in the world the united states trying to take control of its economy often put uh tariffs or taxes on imported goods and those always don't end well because then it just what what it often just results in is tariffs going the other way so if you're gonna be like all right we're gonna have tariffs on european union goods or um chinese goods or something like that usually that is responded with tariffs on the other end meaning now your exports they're not going to buy your exports now right so you know usually it happens at economies if you you know do something to one country they're gonna do the same thing back to you right like it's not a very good threat um they tried this during the great depression smooth halley tariff act and was a major backfire and it just let other countries do not want to buy american goods export's important we can't keep meeting like this we're enemies tiger and lieutenant i love you no no t-34 can't stop we can't do this like i blame america for this german and russian i'm not saying that line i'm not i'm not saying that line hello there i'd like a double double monsters this is quebec speak french most preserves different languages oh right okay so we got canada cool back there right so you got the french-speaking territory of france which actually was there first but then it gets incorporated into canada largely after the seven years war in the 1750s and that's been a political and cultural you know battle i would say ever since um for you know multiple centuries [Music] is tim horton's gonna heard of tim's hortons as a you know like a store or whatever is that is that specifically more of a like a french canadian thing i don't know specifically something something something double double like like bad grammar i guess is that is that what it is is that because that seems to be a running theme here living such a pointless life this is a bad joke weimar germany 1923 print money israelite 2017 zimbabwe 2007-2009 i can't believe other countries think that printing money is still good i mean come on man it's not a good fiscal idea to do that while others are wasting paper to print money i'm making money out of thin air yeah the irony right so you go back there's multiple nations they were talking about that basically try to print print money right print their way out of economic recessions and that just doesn't work you can't trick an economy economy is not a thing that can be tricked it's not in the weimar republic after world war one the incredible amount of debt and economic damage that happened to germany after world war one they started pumping money out and made their money virtually worthless and other countries have kind of done that too and i guess what the the jab they're trying to give the united states is um sure kind of print money and that kind of thing uh to keep it going but without much backing it up and just creating money against debt which devalues money anytime anywhere volska maybe cannot into space but polska can certainly into the harsh antennae okay yeah yeah but like everyone's been there yeah like chili argentina norway the british australia new zealand all this stuff um french everybody's already been there a little bit late to the party there uh poland say it yo france where's the place where you invented french fries i did hear the french fries actually are a belgian thing which uh you know that's what they're saying there because belgium also is a heavily french-speaking government as well so bonjour oh none for quarter million people built on a lake it was kind of prophesied in their culture this location would be one where they built their capital um and they build bridges to get out to it and then when ann cortez uh arnold cortez and spanish show up 1500's they bring a disease and warfare ends up destroying the city completely and then the spanish build their new capital um out there in the west which will be mexico city and they have all kinds of geographic problems it's high in elevation it's built in based on a water table they basically try to drain it which has a horrible foundation to it and it floods it's not a very good place geographically to actually build a city he is filled with ban shame oh manny hello japan i hear you be list of east nation of first world yes i'm poland did i ever tell you what happened last time we have been in japan atomic bomb joke fat man was the name of the atomic bomb uh one of the atomic bombs that was dropped on japan by the united states in world war oh ii god spicy 1919 fill the bag with my underwater reparations okay how much 1920 billion 229 1933 they stop once the nazis take power they stop paying how about 3-9 yep they stopped 1945 years how about yes now they got to pay again 1980. still paying 2010. ishmael giving money give money yeah it wasn't it wasn't until uh like yeah 2010 that they finished off paying their war debt like 90 years later [Music] this goes back to the one that was one of the first ones with germany bailing out greece because in the modern day after it was actually right after it's about 2010 um greece was economically failing and the germans sought to bail out with their money going there so that's kind of interesting thing to think about is just as they're finishing off paying off their treaty versailles debts towards world war one they immediately were bailing out other countries um with that what you think are your strong points hmm always was good at socializing thanks you it's socialism cold war bulk bags thanks little buddy boom we are not your no hey switzerland is class it's like the united states wanted someone to go you know to keep doing their arms race stuff with and then the soviet union um it didn't work well with them so now they're looking for other you know uh indirect uh countries indirectly tied there to the the soviet union empty or half full switzerland yes that was good i like that brazil why are you even doing this you're on fire profit i am convinced oh is it burning down the rainforest is that what this is talking about so they could sell it off the land and things went into space what you don't get is she of japan because he's next to japan no it's sea of korea because it border next to korea true okie dokie i have a solution for this now the confusion is all of japan so that is why the japanese invaded korea it was a name dispute oh i see i see okay what do we got here um it's a britain and france are too many of them we have to leave not we you have to leave what go home i'll buy you times but tell them how i fought how i was braves don't forget what i did here today i won't no one will and then my whole navy came in and evacuated everybody all while that froggy was surrendering dunkirk wow so cool is this a dunkirk it's a dunkirk thing were they like they're the british are taking all the credit it was like it wasn't the french trying to hold off uh you know hold off the german advance to save those what 300 000 or whatever uh uh english troops that were trying to get out of mainland europe you know from dunkirk back to uh britain everyone's forgetting the the french literally just held held strong and and died along the way to give that kind of time that they could rescue those soldiers so i'm not forgetting you france we're not forgetting okay and with that that's the end of the very and then give them crap for surrendering that's a good meme or whatever episode i hope you guys enjoyed this it was something different i don't know i wanted to voice cartoons and he was good because no one's given me an animated series yet i thought i'd make my own so tell me in the comments if you want to see more of these memes or music or whatever if it can get some kind of historical interest of any kind of just for fun i find it to be a positive thing a net positive right to get you into interested in that stuff and these kind of things you know like like with memes i do my meme reviews i kind of say that that hey if you don't understand maybe what a meme or something was really talking about you know rather than just being like all right whatever i just want to look for memes of things i just know about you use that as a motivation to learn about other topics right so um what do you guys think this is the first time i've seen this uh it looks like so you have these comics and this dude was doing voiceovers i feel like that's really good he was really good at that and they have other episodes or other videos like this you know if this is something you want me to keep checking out um let me know you can let me know down in the comments i know people have posted these country balls type comics over on our discord server and if you want to if you have like good ones you can check that out because i do again meme reviews uh you can post memes historical memes don't be country balls of course any kind of historical memes over on the discord server there is a channel for memes historical memes and my moderators get those together and then i do reaction videos to them where i talk about them and
