one thing that you want to note about rome is this where it's found at daniel chapter 2 and verse 33 his legs of iron as you might notice over here the legs his feet part of iron and part of clay so rome is considered to be the iron kingdom that time and that is very significant we're going to find out more and more with the empire of rome because it it is a nation that crushes its enemies its fellow nations and it continues on for years and years and years verse 40 and the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron for as much as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things and as iron that breaketh all these shall it break in pieces and bruise so notice that it seems like that it's a nation that consistently struggles and battles it always battles battles and that's why today's history is going to be very interesting we're going to see how rome literally battled enemy after enemy nation after nation i thought that alexander the great would be the most interesting concerning its conquest but the thing about it is that rome was actually you can see competitors rivalry and struggles alexander his was just boom all the way he just conquered nation nation country country like that like a conqueror but rome it it versed against rivalries and kingdoms that was a struggle for power which is why iron is properly attributed to rome more than greece actually alexander the great as you might recall in previous discipleship studies he was more of that he goat where he just kept conquering four poor dashing forward roman had to crush and conquer whereas alexander the great he just dashed and conquered and we'll see more of that let's look at daniel chapter 7 and then we're going to look at verse 6. this is referring to the kingdom of rome after this i be held and lo another like a leopard which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl as you might notice from our drawing the beast had also four heads hence i wrote over i circled here four times and dominion was given to it so notice that it is given dominion that's the idea because it's an iron kingdom a lot of scholars they'll attribute this to greece the leopard i i believe larkin does the same thing but actually this animal is referring to rome that's what you gotta understand the reason why is because you look at the beginning of the verse you notice that at verse 1 in the first year of belshazzar king of babylon daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed right but then notice over here that as you continue reading down and if you look at verse three and four great beasts came up from the sea diverse one from another now if you continue reading this one it shows over here that uh oh let's see look at verse 16 i came near unto one of them that stood by and asked him the truth of all this so he told me and made me know the interpretation of the things these great beasts which are four are four kings which shall arise out of the earth but the saints of the most high shall take the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever even forever and ever then i would know the truth of the fourth beast which was diverse from all the others exceeding dreadful whose teeth were of iron and his nails of brown which devoured break in pieces and stamped the residue with his feet so this fourth beast is not referring to rome you'll notice over here that this is referring to the antichrist kingdom because of verse 20 the ten horns that rise up if you recall in your revelation studies for some of the onliners who don't know you'll see the 10 demoniac kingdoms that come out when you compare that with revelation also what you want to notice is this is that as you compare these four kingdoms this was during the time when babylon was nearing the end of its kingdom so as it's reaching the end of the babylonian kingdom the beast that come out afterwards is referring to persia greece and rome when you look at verse four five and six that's the reason why that's the reason why okay so if we uh return to our main text over here concerning about the leopard at verse six after this i be held and lo another like a leopard which had upon the back of it four wings of a foul the beast had also four heads and dominion was given to it so notice that this is as i read this before and we pay a little bit more attention to this creature the leopard as as we might follow over here is an integrated beast that's important to understand it's an integrated beast what you're going to find out is that roman empire was an integrated kingdom it combined basically shem ham and japheth together it covered parts of africa asia and europe that's why rome is the most appropriate actually over here for the leopard as an integrated beast more so than greece so you're going to find that in the following over here now dr rottman he mentions here in his ruckman reference bible on page 1149 all the prophetic expositors destroyed the passage from verse 3 to 24 to verse 24 by following their historic positions they assume that the first beast verse 4 matches the head of gold on nebuchadnezzar's image in daniel 2 that the second beast verse 5 matches the chest and arms of silver and that the third beast verse six matches the belly and thighs of brass they have to divide the fourth beast verse seven into two parts verse eight in order to make it match the legs of iron and toes of iron and clay but verses 17 and 24 make it perfectly clear that the babylonian kingdom the head of gold is through before the kingdoms of these beasts arise so he mentions about his uh note on chapter five verse one so we can look at over here at chapter five verse one he mentions in his note thou shazza is the last king of babylon he is killed that very night this means that every prophetic expositor without exception failed to get the correct interpretation of daniel 7. the kings and kingdoms of daniel chapter 7 verse 15 through 24 begin after belshazzar is dead when you compare with chapter 7 verse 1 and chapter 7 verse 24. the animals of daniel 7 do not match the medals of nebuchadnezzar's image in daniel chapter 2. okay so we'll notice over here that at verse 24 at verse 24 of daniel chapter 7 he mentions and the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise and another shall rise after them and he shall be diverse from the first and he shall subdue three kings so this roman empire actually is uh swallowing up the uh you'll notice over here that the roman empire from the leopard that he's going to be an integrated kingdom that covers africa asia as well as europe and so we begin the history of rome so in the history of rome there's a lot of interesting notes that i'm not sure if we're going to be even able to cover tonight so first of all let's cover the etruscans all right so the etruscans over here i read i've explained to you a little bit about their history before i forgot where i put that pen oh there you are pray to god that one day your pastor will get a huge table amen so that'll be much easier okay rather than this wobbly thing if you recall concerning about the his history of the etruscans they were basically uh at widowson's book page 90 they primarily resided at tuscany i mentioned something about their civilization their greatest god tinia who is a god of thunder and lightning they divine the future like the babylon now what you're going to find out about them is that they captured rome in about 618 bc and then they ruled for a hundred years now before we cover the true skins over here on how they ruled over rome we're going to go a little bit more to the beginnings of rome all right so the beginning of beginnings all right where it started and then the etruscans you're going to find out why they're very important in later history it's still early history actually old testament time period before actual rome that you would know the big names like julius caesar etcetera would come out so the etruscans are very important for uh the kingdom of rome but we're going to go be before this these this ancient group of people so widowson says on page 90 archaeologists believe that people of uncertain origin began settling the area known as latium latium around 1000 bc thereaf after crossing the tiber they mingled with the local population or killed them depending upon who you read then over time a few small independent city-states developed the strongest being alba longa lying at the foot of mount alban according to durant probably where the pope's summer home castel gandalfo exists today around 800 bc a colony of these now called latins so before they were latim now it's more so as latins now moved about 20 miles northwest and founded rome so that's where it begins actually so that's how archaeologists would put it at now we're going to cover the myth so this is what archaeologists more supposedly go by however this theory is speculative at best because we're covering the very beginning of beginnings of rome so we're now going to cover the mythology side the mythology side is this which is as i mentioned to you before every founding nation claims that they mean intermingled with some sons of god over there and that's how they start their kingdom and then you'll notice that their early kings their earliest kings they would reign for about a century or for many years so either they connect carried the genetic bloodline where you know shem and noah's bloodline they were still raining for a while or it's either because they intermingled with the sons of god that they were able to reign for a while but remember i showed you as we reach the timeline of kings the children of israel there's a degradation there and so it becomes more and more human and the deified bloodline the deified civilization is more and more fading away so let's go to the deified history of mythology how much is true or false we don't know but this is how it would go according to tradition a large amount of stories and poems so notice it begins with anus over here he's the child of the union between the demon or goddess aphrodite venus and a mortal man escaped the burning of where this man supposedly escaped the burning of troy so remember troy is the beginning of beginnings of grecian civilization before we come to corinth athens and other places so supposedly this man was a survivor he mentions over here there he married lavi uh lavignia daughter of the king and eight generations later their descendant numator was the king of where the latins resided at alba longa remember so alba longa is mentioned here remember the latins they were residing in al-balanga as you might recall so anu supposedly he had one of his descendants numator who became king of alba langa now numator what happened to him now was that he was overthrown by a usurper or someone who takes a throne usually by violence or trickery to which he is not entitled as in satan's deceit regarding adam and eve this person named amulius killed numator sons and forced his only daughter to become a priestess of the goddess vesta also know virgin a type of pre-christian nun where you notice where roman catholics get their non doctrine of nuns from it's ancient roman paganism so numator's daughter unfortunately went through this uh unfortunate ordeal through the enemy ammulius but then what happens over here is that the beautiful daughter named reyes sylvia was then impregnated by the demon or god and what happens over here is that the greeks called their gods demons mars whose statue is one of the ones gracing our capitol building in washington dc and their offspring so what's the offspring of this unfortunate lady who intermingled with this demon or god the famous names you will hear about the founding of rome and mythology their offsprings were romulus and remus so supposedly from this intermingling of the gods usually every nation begins that way as i told you before amulius ordered these twins to be drowned so remember the enemy amulius kicked out numator and then he's the bad guy so to speak ordered the twins to be drowned and they were placed on a raft which was carried to land by the waves there they were suckled by a she-wolf or a shepherd's wife named akka laurencia or lupa depending upon whose story you read so the they were supposedly raised by uh woes so to speak so where did jungle book get its idea from where did genesis 6 get the distorted viewpoint of animals intermingling with humans right so all of this comes from pagan mythology here genesis 6 in the bible so if the sons of gods carried out their remnant which they did during that time but we just don't know how much of the story is true in roman mythology but we can bet you that some of it is true and that some of it did happen actually all right let's keep reading over here when these two boys grew up they killed amulius restored numator to the throne and then went out and built rome that's how rome was supposedly built actually so that's mythology whereas archaeology talks about these latins at alba longa now let's continue on over here so rome was supposedly by romulus and remus or it could be the latins now the archaeology side the mythology side let's see what happens after this now now there's some thing that's interesting perhaps there is some grain of truth widowson's book page 91 there is some grain of truth in it but most of the ancients ascribe some supernatural origin to their kingdoms rome consisted of seven hills which were often called seven mountains in fact much later in the imperial era it was said that a man of rome was a man from the seven mountains the three tribes that lived on the seven hills the latins the sabines and the etruscans formed a federation called the septim montiem or the what seven mountains all right so that's why these guys are important the latins the etruscans they're very important people to know in your history and they are important with the sabines so they were known as seven mountains where rome was founded why do you think god says in revelation 17 that babylon the the revelation 17 is known as a woman sitting on not seven hills but it says properly seven mountains why because god is seeing that wicked spirit ever since ancient times he's seeing it all the way over there all right the story goes on to tell of how romulus right so from here now romulus in order to to secure wives for his settlers arranged for public games with the sabines and other tribes in attendance during which the romans kidnapped the sabine women and drove off the sabine men the king of the sabine so now we're over here now the sabines the king of the sabines declared war on and attacked rome tarpea the daughter of the roman who had charge of the fortress on the capitoline hill from which our congress capitol building derive its name interestingly opened the gate to the invaders she was crushed by their shields in retaliation and later people gave the name tarpan rock to the site where condemned men were hurled to their deaths the kidnapped women stopped the conflict due to fear of losing their new husbands if their fathers and brothers were successful and losing their fathers and brothers if their new husbands were successful because remember the poor unfortunate women from the sabines romulus made them intermingle with romans so then the poor women imagine the poor women during that time right like whose side would you be on their side or these guys side it's i mean they're stuck over there so what happened at the end was romulus persuaded the sabine king to form an alliance with the latins in common citizens citizenship so as the sabines had been called curites it became common later to call all roman freeman cure rights after a long time as king romulus was according to legend lifted up in a whirlwind to heaven and was at was after that worshiped as queerinius one of the roman's favorite gods so then what happened to romulus afterwards uh a sabine was then chosen king the real power was in the hands listen up the real power was in the hands of the elders or senators while the functions of the king were chiefly those of a high priest the first sabine king of rome was numa pompilius but then things have changed with this person over here all right so according to tradition along with will and ariel durant around 655 bc a rich merchant banished from corinth so there was a rich merchant who was banished from corinth in greece and named damaritas came to live in tarkini and married an etruscan woman okay so this guy who came from corinth intermingled with the etruscan woman his son lucius tarquinius that's what happened he moved to rome and guess what happened eventually seized power there so that's how the etruscans eventually overruled the latins that time see that so now we see over here that the etruscans have taken over used to be here and then now they came over here where the latins are okay now the office of king became more more powerful politically and the etruscan influence began to dominate rome so it goes from where it seems like aristocracy more to a monarchy now see that so now switches to monarchy so this man what he did was uh it's you gotta understand a lot of roman architecture art civilizations language etc comes from the etruscans that's impo that's why these people are important okay the uh let's see the etruscan influence began to dominate rome's art religion politics and engineering he enriched the other intrusion cities at rome's expense and was finally assassinated by the nobility or class of people who actually own land who attempted to put the king back into a priestly status now what happens over here is that several kings pass by over here and then we see here tarquinius superbus became absolute monarch king or rex so here's the next guy guess what word we get from his last name he was a tyrant surrounded by a bodyguard and ordering roman friedman into forced labor he put to death many leaders of the upper class and rule brutally earning the hatred of all in one of the great moments of roman history the senate deposed him around 508 bc while he was away with the army the roman republic was born thus ended monarchy now look how this thing rome's history is very interesting on how you see the history of other nations it goes back and forth back and forth back and forth actually that's what you're going to find out now this becomes even more so with the power of the people we see over here that the first console's legend holds where brutus and the husband of the deceased lucretia who resigned and was replaced by pluvius valerius so brutus becomes the next important figure that's where you get the idea about the oath of brutus actually which is supposedly there's a painting and that phrase has been used where many years later an actual guy named brutus uh where shakespeare made the play julius caesar from e2 brutus you know you know that one right so brutus the oath of brutus was referring to down with the king basically and the power to the people that's the idea so that's where that oath of brutus came from which later on many years later brutus began to use against julius caesar all right now him brutus uh he also had another person pluvius valerius known as public cola is also known as friend of the people now you know where the word public comes from historically so the rights of the people the public public we're doing the public service that's what the government is trying to proclaim right so all that comes from during that timeline so which is why he's an important person now because they uh started to make these rules in rome the political effort had two consequences one it freed rome from etruscan dominance and replaced the monarchy with an aristocracy that ruled all the way until julius caesar came out to the scene where now we get monarchy again where jesus christ was born but it was going back and forth you got to realize it wasn't all monarchy that time it was going from aristocracy then to monarchy and back to aristocracy and then back to monarchy actually so that's their history here this did not help the poor however who were never free from exploitation by the powerful so notice over here that obviously this was not really truly the rights of the people it's the rights of the elites like today's system right and they claim that they're doing this for the public right not much different one man learned from history is that men never learn from what history but you notice that today's elise they proclaim that they're doing this cause to help the poor right yeah wickedness deceit not much different from mankind from back then okay anyways so we see over here that eventually as time passed by etruscan power was gone finally the true skin power was finally gone especially through brutus laying down the rules so then etruscan power was finally gone aristocracy was taking over and then guess what it now turned out that rome became the dominant power now now remember the etruscans are very they were the dominating group and people remember ancient history records how an empire is formed is that uh different groups smaller kingdoms conquer each other and then it conglomerates into a bigger empire that's how rome was building up its empire when the etruscans were gone rome became even much more powerful now see that so rome is building up the etruscans was a major key once the etruscans were conquered rome started building up now let's see how rome builds up even more and more but before we cover uh rome let's talk about the etruscan influence the etruscan influence on rome remained even though its power was overthrown the latin language roman numerals the latin language roman numerals and the name roma from the etruscan word rouman for river all came from them the etruscans that's important to understand even roman numerals latin language for several hundred years it was a custom from for roman aristocrats to send their children to etruscan cities to be educated and even the coins of rome were adorned with the prowl of a ship and a true skin symbol a true skins gave the romans their gladiator games that's where they get it all from the etruscans now i don't know if you recall but i read to you last discipleship class that the etruscans that these people were the ones responsible about they love to wage war hunt bullfight in the arena have chariot races sometimes pulled by four horse teams you notice that in the coliseum sometimes the movies will play that where the romans will have those in the arena through discus and javelin pole vaulted raced wrestled boxed remember i talked told you that's where boxing came from last time and fought in gladiators gladiator rounds see that so all that was the etruscans so rome took it all all right so it's kind of like rome is basically like walmart that's the idea okay a true skins gave the romans remember their gladiator games their public works such as sewers and waterslide and drained the swamps to make the city of rome rome which had a higher status uh for women than greece did got that too from the etruscans roman weddings funerals musical instruments and music all originated with the etruscans the term tuscan style still survives however the inordinate emphasis placed on self-discipline and sacrifice to the state and the greater good the brutality and love of bloody death as entertainment and super patriotism were all roman now let's cover a little bit more about rome roman's government this is where iron comes in over here okay so let's see over here how the iron starts to take a play and apart it's their military might if there is a military might empower that you want to study more it's not really cyrus or alexander and it's not uh the assyrian empire remember they were known for being brutal in their war tactics the ones that's actually most uh most noteworthy i believe would be rome actually because they were uh this is pretty interesting stuff concerning rome rome's government was a complex and ever-changing entity whose constitution depended in the end on the most successful military organization in history we don't have the time here to go into every detail of roman law or civil organization but the roman legion remember in the book of matthew the four gospel talks about a legion composed of 4 200 infantry that's what a legion is 300 calvary and various auxiliary groups divided into centuries of a hundred men later 200 commanded by centurions remember the roman centurions in your bible composed the backbone of its success two legions composed a consul's army each legion had its vexilla vexillum its banner or colors which were never supposed to fall into an enemy's hands many scholars have made a detailed study of rome's military organization and battlefield tactics and many books have been written on the subject the roman military concept changed with the challenges it met and its most basic premises still are with us today in some form that's why the roman military power is the one that i believe is more noteworthy compared to cyrus alexander and even assyria because why because they were living in an ever-changing environment so they always had to learn to adapt its tactics now let's look at roman religion that would be interesting right roman religion could it have some similarity with the roman catholic church um widow says on page 94 public worship was conducted by several collegiate colleges or associations of priests all under the head of single priests elected by the centuries remember that's where the centurions are connected called a what pontifex maximus or supreme pontiff remember that's where the term comes from our early popes later on the college of vestal virgins remember that were white clad nuns who took a vow of virginity and service for thirty years way where the catholic church get their id doctrines from the most influential culture priest was called the european who studied the intent and will of the gods eventually caesar himself would be elected supreme pontiff thereby controlling the state religion and priesthood celebrating his alma mater virgin mother mother as in modern favorite school songs venus who is also ishtar or ashtarith of the bible eventually emperor gracian according to some sources declined the title and it was taken up by pope damascus who contracted jerome to revise the old latin or vedas latina bible the early church fathers used to be more to his liking later as we shall see the roman catholic church transform the roman empire into a spiritual entity ruling over a political world let's keep reading says over here the roman catholic church the ultimate state church of history is the inheritor and continuance of the roman empire with the pope as emperor the college of cardinals as senate and on down to the priest as cevitas or lowest level administrators complete with vestal virgins as nuns the sign of the cross relic worship idol procession purgatory and prayers for the dead all brought forward seamlessly from earlier pagan society this stable organization has allowed rome to remain so powerful and important for how long for nearly 2 800 years and that's why they're still powerful to this day you gotta understand all righty let's cover something very interesting here carthage you know why that's interesting so you'll notice from the map over here yeah i need to buy me a manual desk one day whatever okay carthage right over here okay it's a very powerful thing uh powerful city because they're connected with one of the powerful empires phoenicia it's phoenician its origins go all the way back to phoenicia phoenicia is as old as what the canaanite religion so remember that in your earlier discipleship lessons that phoenicia goes all the way back to canaanite religious form and the children of israel were the ones who conquered them so god was really his hand was on the children of israel where they conquered the world's most powerful empire that time which was egypt the other superpowers babylonia and assyria remember that time were just forming but egypt was the world's greatest power god crushed that and god crushed their canaanite uh another powerful the most widespread kingdom phoenicia but then kings has started deteriorating see without god then what happens satan's kingdoms take over that's what happens so we see that that's why rome one of satan's kingdom is going to compete against that so let's see over here phoenician colony of carthage ruled the western mediterranean enriched by the minds of spain and a vast trade network ah see they go from the mines of spain and remember phoenicia is widespread it covers here all the way to canaan and parks above over here so carthage is a kingdom that was born out of phoenician branch around 813 bc some colonists built their homes on a prom 10 miles northwest of the present day city of tunis tradition has the founding of the city performed by elisa ordito daughter of the king of tyre okay so that's where elisa comes in now remember daughter of the king of tyre tyre if you recall it was a powerful kingdom that was from the branch connected to phoenicia but then what happened what happened was israel did not perform its job fully against the canaanite nations so then what happened satan's kingdoms took over so the entire became power but then babylon was able to conquer it later on and then obviously babylon was conquered by persia and then greece and then rome so then we see over here that carthage which is going to be the rivalry against rome rome conquered basically from grew out of here but carthage it's growing out of here from tyre and phoenicia remember zidane tires island so now we see two satanic kingdoms compete and let's see who wins so elisa her husband having been slain by her brother she led the colonists to africa her settlement was named kart hadasht newtown the greeks called it carcadon the romans called it carthago all right which we later see as carthage the latins gave the name africa to the region around carthage and like the greeks called the native population poe poeny or phoenicians the sieges of tyre by xiamenezer nebuchadnezzar and alexander drove many wealthy tyrians to carthage ah so tyre it was being bombarded by what it was bombarded by the assyrian superpower and then the babylon superpower and then alexander was just going like a madman like a demon-possessed man conquering nations all around him so the entire just fell apart and then phoenician kingdom moved to a different location carthage so it was wealthy wealthy people of tyre so to speak that's how carthage was founded and became a powerful kingdom the carthaginian the carthaginians were distinctly canaanite in their culture and religion displaying all of the grossly immoral traits that god said he hated in leviticus chapter 18. so page 95 of widowson's book as i keep reading they worship both baal moloch or molech and astarte or ashteroth ishtar and develop corresponding deities named baal heman and tanith so this is interesting listen up this is where the children of israel see phoenicia was the most widespread kingdom remember so that includes their religion children of israel followed the canaanites remember their worship was extremely wicked did carthage follow along yes listen up because they did molech over here as i mentioned what did the bible say about molex sacrifices how about this so let me keep reading they were let's see here even dido the legendary founder of the city was worshiped so she was worshipped over here remember her aka name was also dito let's keep reading she was worshiped living children were sacrificed or passed through the fire to molech as the bible says as many as how many you wouldn't believe it 300 in a day that's how evil it is now this was occurring according to durant's estimate they were placed on the outstretched arms of the idol and rolled into the fire beneath the infant's cries drowned out by trumpets and symbols their mothers were required to look on without showing emotion or even a tear-less they be accused of impiety durant says and lose the credit due them from their god now how did israel fall into that kind of mess huh how did god's chosen people fall into that kind of mess right because as i taught you so many times church if you backslide just take skipping a few services right then you get into the world a little bit and then give it about three more years and then you'll be more like them halfway you'd be surprised how much time can go real fast and you'll change real fast and if you give it 20 years 30 years 50 years then guess what you can even change a generation what men learn from history is what men never learn from history but you stupid humans including myself don't get the memo and we think that we can skip a little bit it doesn't hurt that much hey man sacrificing 300 babies unheard of unheard of that's what happens when you get out of church right you get out of service for the lord i keep telling you but you notice as you come to church you changed a lot too right the opposite is true in serving the lord all right let's keep reading this wicked stuff no class was spared this evil so everyone rich and poor and it is said by deodoris the greek historian that when gathacles of syracuse beseeched carthage that 200 upper-class infants were sacrificed in one day to save the city when the romans destroyed the city they left nothing for us to examine neither architecture written records nor much pottery their hatred of carthage was so intense so we have only the testimony of others to base our history upon now believe it or not widowson goes on to mention at page 95 that carthage originally that is started out as friends not enemies so they started out as allies however later on rome found an excuse to go against carthage and then uh they broke uh they broke the treaty and then hence came the famous wars in your ancient history and they are called the punic wars the punic wars that's very famous in fact it goes up to three maybe even more all right just let me know if i'm out of bounds gentlemen okay if it's a little outbound that's okay so punic wars people should know that by now now how it happened was supposedly in this way basically uh they mentioned over here the romans wanted carthaginian influence out of sicily where they knew that half of rome's yearly grain needs could be supplied they also wanted to strengthen their trade with the greek city state and ally masalia which we know today as marseilles they found their excuse for war in 264 bc known in modern history as a casa's belly when a group of mercenary pirates known as mammar teens or men of mars appealed to rome for help against carthage after carthage had delivered them from the dictator of syracuse hierro ii it seems that their deliverers had no intention of leaving the city masana which the mammartines themselves had stolen from greek colonists rome decided to drive carthage from sicily so that's how it happened it came about from the mammartine seeking help from rome and then rome used as an excuse to battle against carthage that time so carthage it's interesting when you read the punic wars so you can read that back and forth and then there is one person that we will read that the name that is famous that you know for the punic words and movies took his name hannibal another famous ancient general you want to know besides alexander the great and cyrus he's another uh genius general that you want to study in history hannibal and he was on carthage's side so rome did they have a hard time with carsage absolutely that's why rome had to be brilliant in its iron tactics so to speak so hannibal what should we read about him at our next discipleship class all right so we'll read about him in our next discipleship class there's a lot more and then we'll we'll cover to the beginnings of julius caesar rome has a lot of interesting history i thought greece would have more but rome actually has a lot of interesting history that we'll delve more into all right let's close with the word of prayer your homework assignment your next ad lib commentary okay heavenly father i pray that today's teachings have made us more aware of our history how mankind their pattern and their actions are very very simultaneous with human nature today and that we will learn our lessons from them not follow their mistakes we're learning about the era of satan's kingdoms your kingdom of heaven is gone at this time period i pray that we will see more of how we from our own country follow the patterns of satan's kingdom during that time and that we will not follow its same mistakes in jesus name we pray amen
