Hermitcraft 7 | Ep 004: Easy & Productive Guardian Farm!

[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] what's going on everyone my name is impulse and welcome back to hermit craft season 7 we have been busy very busy as you saw in the opening time-lapse grindin away on this guardian farm I've been putting in the work even after clearing out that monument like you saw in the time-lapse I have done even more I've put soul sand underneath this entire floor here because we're gonna be removing these blocks shortly and creating bubble columns that will go all the way up in fact the area that doesn't have the floor for the monument coming out the entrance you can see there's already bubbles coming up and Guardians just flying out of this thing we are going to use Cub fans Guardian farm design and it's gonna be all bubble activated basically we're bringing them up to the surface and then we're gonna use some water channels to bring them to a single killing point and it's gonna be amazing but done that all the Sol stands underneath that was a lot of soul sand I had to collect basically a double chest worth and I've also put glass walls around this we're doing the entire size of the monument so it's kind of like Cub fans farm but on steroids as farm is a little smaller than the monument we're going all the way out we're trying to get as many guardians to spawn as possible I'm gonna shot so yeah I got the soul sand in got the walls up the next step for me actually is to put in the floor right here kind of where I'm at and that's just gonna allow me to start creating the water channels and things like that also I need to remove those blocks I suppose I'll remove those blocks first problem is once I do there's gonna be a lot of bubbles and a lot of Guardians shooting up and trying to get at me just like that so I'm gonna get going on that while I'm doing that I want to play some clips we had a lot of visitors stop by our base or temporary base as I was working on this and wanted to make some deals so let's take a look at what was going down in pulse man oh you doing hey got a visitor here how you doing said it hello I'm doing very well thank you I've got little bit of a favor to ask oh sure thing you want some words okay there you go that's disgusting thank you though mmm delicious it's like when somebody gives you like a yeah a cake or something when you visit them tality years is wonderful right wasn't actually after warts weirdly I was after a villager I hear that you have plenty I do I do and you can almost hear them from here actually yeah they're right here you came to the right place that shape then I think you're a bit confused oh yeah you're you're right are looking at use edification case you want to play that game actually yeah down here I've got a villi breeder already set up and I got a few extra yep got a few extra in here so then you're not the first to come by and ask for villagers to be fair tango has already as well and you know what I told him did you give him waltz - I did not you're in my first I told him to bring lots of Dimes in no no he didn't need to pay me teams it we get him for free you I'm given villages wait as long as your team zip member which is me you tango by the way in case people don't get that we give away villages for free anyone else they're gonna have to bring their diamond so they want Billy's so I like the sound of this thank you very much yeah free villager vending machine right here so what we need to do is pull one out and then hope he wants to climb the ladder so I think if we do this if we just get it up in the corner maybe oh I'm stuck I'm stuck in my own yes okay nice if we be will not make the boat there we go so far so good now we just need to get him up the ladder somehow I mean ladders at all let's not give him a hard time I struggle with ladders quite often right so you know let's just big him up a little bit you're doing fantastic I love your hat it's a beautiful hat you're wearing their village mm-hmm lovely nose as well a beautiful nose the biggest one I've ever seen I think that's a compliment you shook his head no all right maybe we maybe we changed the idea here maybe we dig a little hole and let him go out the side okay since he's just absolutely not cooperating so he was shaking his head to that again but you know I don't even have a shovel said I have let me go well I'll give you a shovel for the villager how about that well I mean I said it was free but sure because I'm empty-handed at the moment all right let's see let's see if we can get him out now okay hopefully he'll just smell him oh yeah well he did look at he smells it not only that oh oh there we go oh you did it oh I have brewing stands over there that he was smelling that's what happens oh you got sinky bruised exactly once you get him away from here though he will definitely lose that profession you can turn them into whatever you want there but just you just need one villager yeah just the one he's gonna be bait oh okay I mean I should probably he's gonna be bait stuff like that his face I think he wasn't listening good yeah he did hear he was too focused on those those potions brooming stands all right well yeah I don't know how far you have to go but if you set down to see ya I'm sure your trip will be easy to get all the way back to where you goin [Music] probably easier to go by land but I'm gonna go by sea for the most something that you want and you have stuff that I want right that is the plan that's that's typically how deals are made right I feel sorry for the viewers at this point it's just a case of what is guardian temple and destroyed it I've got my pickaxe I leveled the thing I didn't even bring all the blocks back but I did bring some were in here here we go top Ches there's four I got horse sacks total I don't taking that some and some other stuff but how much did you want um considering the fact that I'm gonna be building a guardian farm and I will have much more later yeah I can part with yes okay now the better question is how many block Wow I saw that you can't hide it no I know exactly how many that is right okay this is like you know a sari from Joe giving me like 18 emeralds and and he made out this is my first deal of the server so I feel like you know in the interests of future dealings being being necessary I've decided to be generous so one block oh my gosh in iron an IOU oh just remember that in the early days of the server I came with two diamond blocks and an IOU for future pricing okay no not they will not be forgotten this is this is great this is actually way more than I could have imagined so this worked out this worked out this is a mutually beneficial business agreement at this point yes very very nice hey I look forward to doing future business with you absolutely giggling now you're just so happy to finally get that dark forest marine I know no idea how long we've been waiting for like been like two days how long it took for you to take down organic hand fished normal shells oh my goodness Lyon Court I've been using Pamela's papers bait but you know okay I think they'll be okay right it's all organic and I think you know I probably have the most on the server organic shells so you know they're gonna be pricey alright I can give you eight that's what you need I'm a conduit that's right that's gonna be you know frame price you know but you know we did lots of stuff together in season season six you know that's right so friend price here um one diamond a Papa CH so that would be eight diamonds listen Ren when you told me your price I thought you know what I think he's I think he's not exactly you know pricing these right I think you you could have gone a little higher these I really need these so I was kind of thinking the same thing you know we were we were great business partners and I want to take care of my business partner from last season buttering you up for potential future deals oh right bling blanks yeah I don't know what to say I mean have a sandy cat and I we thank you dude yeah you have no idea how these not only shells I was this is gonna be amazing okay I'm gonna stop distracting you but it's looking fantastic here I gotta say which which boat was mine do you remember I think so I can take whichever one all right I'm just gonna back away we're gonna leave you to it all right oh listen I'm picking up your car on the way out see you later and thank you watch out for the squid bro and after making a deal with Ren for some Nautilus shells so I could make myself a conduit azuma wanted to stop by and make a little trade do you see he needed some nether warts and he traded me a shocker box or some nether warts which was an amazing deal for me of course because yeah sugar box right now is huge I've been transporting items all the way out to the Guardian farm all the sands for glass all of the soul sand and all of the netherrack in order to make the top layer there so yeah the sugar box definitely came in handy hello greetings for the human know what I'm just gonna buy some villagers that's their dimples oh okay I'm here I'm here to make a purchase I hear the villagers I guess okay fair enough because I have plenty and I heard you have diamonds I have you said diamond each right so one and if you take a little bit more I mean it doesn't cost me much but I keep throwing keep oh you did okay so how much how much that's 11 that's 11 okay yeah I was thinking 5 a piece okay six piece that works so yeah you know how these villager breeders work by the way no like back in the day when I was playing around with the villagers it was like they had a door they have a bed everything is like bow-chicka-wow-wow babies pop out yeah it hasn't changed much except kind of put beds in there instead of doors and you can even go in you can't fall in I got it's safe in there trust me but this is it this is I just have two of these guys and they're there's four beds in there and all they do is make a baby thinking that's gonna go in the bed but I kind of trick it and they don't they can just fall in a hole down underneath looking like genius is this something I can do as well oh yeah yeah you can totally just take a look at the setup and interesting I have a tutorial on my channel too if you're interested step-by-step guide to help you this people watching this we're gonna link that in the description oh there you go thanks thanks for sure that check this out down below I've made this easy see this this is where all the babies come and then they grow up to be big and strong here in the middle for you because you said you're gonna stop by this is basically like my villager vending machine like a launch pad that you could just take them right out to see genius yeah I love it so do I just take one and go yeah and just grab grab a boat and hopefully you fit out the door I haven't tested this part yeah you do okay excellent vac but yeah just head on out and then you can come back and pick up the other one when you ready this is and by the way like how do they work when it comes to like size if they are just pretty much one blocking with and two blocking Heights right that's right yep pretty much the same as a player maybe a little bit taller impulse you demand so much in the conversation come on I wanna see ya see ya well that was certainly fun meeting up with zeniff meeting up with Clio Rennes dog Corrales Zuma now the Exuma clip it was super early in the morning and I was just I couldn't sleep the rest of my house was still sleeping and we weren't able to do the voice so that's why I kind of had to voice over what happened there because I wasn't able to actually jump on a voice call with azuma but yeah all these deals done and obviously you saw I was able to get the conduit or make a conduit because I was able to get those shells I'm on my camera account right now I want to show you what I did with that first of all you can see I've filled in the entire floor here at the surface level with netherrack I did that so it'd be easy to remove because eventually we need to put some fence gates and things like that up above here to create new waterways and then the conduit I actually put underneath here to give me underwater breathing and also can see a lot better because of that so I put it right underneath this pad and what's happening it's quite funny you can see the conduit is hurting the guard he and he just swam away because he did not like getting hurt and I put in I removed all the Prisma rain blocks here now again these bubbles were because this was where there was no monument it was like the entrance of the monument was right here and then you come out through here so these bubbles exist because of that and there are no bubbles here because there was prismarine blocks there and so it's kind of missing that bottom layer of water so after I got that done I started taking a look around and notice something very peculiar about this this is very very strange look at all the guardians in here just about all of them will make their way down into the wall and they're kind of huddling up here against the wall now typically the next step of building this farm would be to you know finish filling in the water so these are all bubble columns every single soul Sam block that was the reason why I can put soul sand in here and then up above here put fence gates and then waterways that would lead them over to a central point because I got a wandering trader just chillin here and funny enough he's actually can can we see him with a camera account now I guess we can't get in his we can't get in as inventory you know he's actually sold an impulse head don't know why but anyway i'm starting to wonder if i need to do all that up above here if i need to put those fence gates in or if maybe we can take advantage of this weird mechanic now this might be happening because they're trying to get away from the conduit source so maybe that is what's going on here and in fact i could potentially move the conduit like into the middle of this box and kind of force them away even quicker and then i could maybe just take them out of here from the bottom corners into just little waterways and to the killing spot i don't know i'm thinking about maybe trying trying something this might be a total failure and a total waste of my time but just looking at this it would make sense to just create kind of a an opening right here and then funnel them from that so i'm just gonna build a little bit of it up and we'll see if it works well this is looking pretty promising oh my goodness i literally only built up just a tiny bit of this little side contraption and look at what we are getting already basically i'm just flooding them into a soul sand elevator right here and yeah you can see they're making their way and there's a there's a little bit of fighting going on that's okay eventually they make their way in and they go up all this is working perfectly so initially I thought this was due to the conduit they were kind of coming out to the side walls after doing some testing and creative and talking to my good buddy nimbin he let me know that they're actually trying to pass find it's because we got kind of lucky in that there's water underneath the sole sand here and of course all around the outside and these guys are trying to pass by into water and as they pass fine they go out to the outside walls and eventually will make their way into here so I think I'm gonna take this little design right here and I'm gonna extend it all the way out to the edge of the walls and I'm gonna do it on all four sides so we're gonna have four soul sand elevators total look at these water glitches this is so annoying I bet if I read logged it would go away but yeah I'm thinking we'll have four of these on each side right one on each side and bring them to the middle and then I could just stand on top of this thing now I know that's gonna cut into the spawn rates just a little bit am i still invisible yeah because as I'm kind of standing here in the center you know killing these guys as they kind of form a cross here and drop down right in front of me the ability to spawn Guardians right underneath this floor at least for about twenty four blocks of my person no guardians will spawn but that's actually okay I think because it's gonna force them to spawn already kind of close to the outside walls and I'm gonna have to get rid of these bubbles I don't even know the best way to do that I think maybe just come in here and see if I go over top of them of course it's gonna it's gonna lift me up but if I do something like this then as we remove these blocks they shouldn't get filled back in and so we just need to do that all the way basically so remember there's air at this very bottom level instead of water and so that's what's making sure the soul sand does it doesn't actually have bubbles and turns out I probably didn't even need to use soul sand since we're gonna code this direction with it now so anyway all right I'm gonna go ahead and clear this out and I'm gonna get building up more of these chambers and we'll see just how efficient this farm can be all right I've got all four sides done now oh it's kinda laggy here but we got all four sides in all four tubes coming together look at how many good oh that is a beautiful sight my gosh there's a lot of Guardians oh my goodness so it's nice to have those four built up but I started to figure out how I want to bring them together and basically this is what I want to do I want have a little killing spot right here that I'll basically step up on and be able to kill them in this 2x2 area and as I set it up I looked over and I made a realization a very sad realization if we kind of look straight ahead it's off-center build up the collection tube off-center I messed up on that one that wasn't enough though I pay also I also built that one off-center too so now I've got to fix these two tubes somehow with tons of guardians in them but anyway yeah I'm gonna go ahead and do that and then we're gonna bring together basically I'm going to funnel all of them over here I cannot believe how laggy this is I need to turn off my particles or something I'm gonna basically funnel them into this spot so I have to figure out how high the tube needs to be so that they can kind of drop down into this I think it's gonna be probably four or five blocks up and then we'll bring them over so alright and then we'll finally be able to collect them all in the center and welcome put some hoppers and stuff in a coal collection system and lots to do here I'm not sure we're gonna get it completely done today but I want to at least be killing guardians and collecting some loot the guardians are now flowing in from all four sides look at those people I'm on my camera count again just to give you a good view of what is happening here you can see all four sides coming together in the middle they are dropping that blow into some water where I am standing ready to kill them and collect some XP and also we are getting our first signs of loot in here in this chest here we got all this already and a bit of this and somehow a trapdoor ended up in the system but they are coming in fast and furious look at this there is a new problem though look at this I left a 2x2 hole thinking that would be enough and they kind of get jammed up in the middle here they're just coming in too fast and pretty soon we're gonna start seeing these guys doing some entity cramming in there as well which means there's like over a hundred entities probably but yeah that's not good it's gonna cause a little bit of lag we need to figure out that it's definitely causing a bit of lag on the server and yeah it's working fantastic there's so many Guardians coming coming in at once here let's take a look inside you can see not all of them have made their way to the side it does take it a bit of time after they spawn for them to get down and kind of path find their way over so there probably are definitely more efficient ways to do this but this one was fairly easy to set up with the materials that I had and I'm able to collect XP I think the next thing I need to do is try to figure out how to solve this jam in the middle here maybe I'll make it like a 4x4 but I'm not sure exactly how well that's gonna work but for now this will work I'm gonna go ahead and take care of all these guys in here let's see how much XP we get I'm already up to 50 levels my armor though is taken a beating we're gonna definitely have to get some mending on that and I just been trying to eat the what is this raw cod so as I'm killing them I kind of collect it in my off hand and I can just hold down right click to eat and so that's keeping me from dying if I just swing it a little bit watch the hearts and then eat some cod to make sure I can regenerate those hearts we're good to go and we clear this thing out pretty well I do have what do I have looting three and sweeping edge three so these are definitely taking care of a big batch at once which is really nice look at that XP flow in and we're hitting also loot oh my goodness this is one productive farm I have seriously happy with it oh my gosh of course we got some cleanup to do I'm looking at to probably replace this floor it with some prison marine blocks and some sea lanterns to light it up so you don't have to worry about mobs oh my goodness I really did expect this to be this productive Wow they just keep floated oh my goodness but we'll work on this a little bit more next time I run it at a time we got done a ton of work today hopefully you guys enjoyed the video
