Good VS Evil: Dark Urge Is The Best Origin Character

what makes a great origin character is it a story that pulls out your Heartstrings are they good-natured or do you prefer someone more gray are there characters relatable in one way or another maybe he says like their personality and would love to have them in your party but today we aren't simply talking about origin characters in your party we are here to discuss in terms of playing the origin character as your avatar and in that terms there is one character I find to be superior than the rest and that is the dark urge please note before we continue some scenes in this video are quite brutal and I even cut out some of them due to their violent nature I want to keep this video as spoiler free as I can but we'll need to discuss some things shown in act one in a small portion of Act 2 to get my point really across so please continue with that in mind so what exactly is the dark urge origin character we know it is the only origin character that can be customized but what exactly does that mean my rancid blood Whispers to me kill kill again my ruined body yearns to reap death in this world and when this foul urge calls it possesses my whole being injured Beyond repair I know nothing besides this I must resist the dark urge lest it consume my mind I must discover who I was and what happened to me before my twitching knife hand writes a tragedy in blood the entire concept of this origin character is one about fighting evil against God I guess you could say you can choose a fight against your past and your nature and fend off the murderous urges or you can choose to embrace the yearning for bloodshed but either way just like the origin itself you don't actually know where this character came from or its past and I find learning along the way along with the character is a really fun experience this concept of good versus evil I find is one created perfectly here because it gives you the utmost options for choice though technically you can choose to be good or evil as any custom character with the dark urge origin you gain additional options along with some very brutal outcomes and even when you try to resist it pushes the point that we all have Natures that we cling to whether we like it or not one of the very first unique dark urge scenes is at the start of the game after the story when you first meet Gail it gives you the option to actually hack off his arm instead of helping him and if you do so not only will you gain inspiration for following the dark path of the dark urge but the character itself seems to not entirely know for sure what happened thus adding to the mystery of who he is this is but just one of many examples of brutality the dark urge allows you to have there are plenty of other scenes including some very brutal animal torture scenes as well that I am not going to include in this however they are in Game and I'm warning you now the dark urge path is not for the faint of heart but what if you wanted to resist the urge I can tell you that even if you try to resist it and choose not to be evil there are still consequences for playing this origin character it's really difficult to go against this nature one of these scenes involves a Bard that I'm sure many of you know because she's probably the most famous Bard in Boulder gate 3. alphera note if you happen to murder everyone in the Grove you actually get a different Bard instead they come to your camp in Hope of joining your journey and helping in any way they can I personally was very excited for this and thought this may be my chance to have a fear as an actual opinion I can use on my party I was wrong even when choosing a path of good her fate is already sealed you wake up the next morning with her corpse completely mutilated with blood all over your hands depending on your class and ability scores you will have different options of what to do with the body even with these options there are no good outcomes in my opinion you even have the option to lie to your friends and if you do so you can truly see how deep this Evil Within You goes and aches [Music] [Music] are dozens and dozens of wounds on the corpse achilla did not stop savaging it even when she was long gone or dominant arm aches it aches from stabbing over and over no matter how it appears the body is there and her blood is on your hands the question flows through your mind who are you really that you could be guilty of such bitter business it is dangerous wandering around at night you could bump into anything your guilt is safe for now as the Inquisition departs you are left alone with a familiar headache [Laughter] you are rewarded however a mysterious Butler will surely come to you and resent himself as a caregiver for who you once were he gives you this amazing cloak that allows you to go invisible for two turns after killing an enemy this reward is very strong and it's one that entices the character to continue down this path of carnage even when evil though there are still scenes that show how far gone you can really make your character if you side of mythara and destroy the druid's groove you most likely know you will have a scene where she wishes to embrace you as a celebration at your camp technically this can happen with any Avatar character however with the dark urge you can choose to snap her neck after embracing her this shows how far the dark urge truly goes at having no loyalty other than to himself as your bodies lock together so do your minds the whole being is laid hair before and half hidden at the center of her desire you discover something unexpected fear thank you you you draw closer with all the Vim of a Lover's first embrace [Music] so why should you play this character then well I find the concept of trying to do good despite a nature of evil is really fun to RP especially if you're a paladin you know those who want to go down the path of righteousness and then eventually break the Ruth this is a great chance for you to RP that that being said I think the concept or saying the path to hell is paved with good intentions truly fits the dark urge if you're trying to go down that path you can try to do good but even so Darkness will always find its mark but the cape and extra scenes are not the only benefits to this character warning this next scene is going to show a part of early Act 2 so do keep that in mind your butler joins you again asking you to kill this cleric Isabel and if you have made it to act 2 you know she has a ward that protects last lights in the headquarters of the Harpers I won't spoil what happens if you do kill her but let's just say once you do that there is no going back and the dark urges true form is finally revealed I could go into more details about this origin its story and its actual meaning throughout the entire story however this was more so an introduction video on why I think the dark urge origin character is probably the most fun origin character to play I would highly recommend you do it if you enjoy fighting against your nature and overcoming it or if you truly want a brutal evil playthrough either way I know I'm having a
